Dreams' Death

Road Kamelot, also known as the Noah of Dreams is dead.

This is a report the order has always wanted. Next would be the total annihilation of all the Noah and akuma, to erase their existence in the world.

One Noah is down thanks to an exorcist who is a Bookman apprentice and an exorcist general. The latter is expected but the former is suspicious. There is something strange. The very fact that Road of all the Noah is the one they were able to kill. She is the oldest and hardest to kill yet this just one mission, she is killed by two exorcists. The general did the killing but the one who weakened the Noah's state is the Bookman apprentice.

How did the Noah die?

How could have two attacks from innocence kill that certain Noah that survived years ago? How could they have gotten so near to the true form of the Noah? How can it be as simple as that?

What made the Noah let her guard down? What is it that the Bookman apprentice is not telling them?

Does she have a hidden power? Could she be the one who possesses the heart of the innocence?

Both are possibilities but they can't jump to conclusions and the latter possibility is dangerous. They can't trust her easily. If she is indeed the accomodator of the heart, they need to contain her, control her, make sure that she will listen to what they say and run away like Allen Walker and General Cross once did.

They need her as their weapon and puppet but that would be a problem since she is a Bookman apprentice.

What the order doesn't know must remain unknown. It will mean her death if they find out the reason for her accomplishing such a feat is because of her connection to a Noah.

She will lose her position as apprentice of Bookman if the connection is found out. She will lose everything if they find out.

The only reason they aren't interrogating her further is because she just survived Road's world. They can't push her else losing another exorcist.

Her mind is not stable no matter how she tries to act calm. She is too quiet. She won't speak.

The order let her rest. Bookman gave her a break. They both know that pushing will only make them lose what they need and want.

The whole Noah family mourns for the loss of their beloved Dreams.

"Dreams had died. Another family member lost. She will soon reincarnate but her death is something we will never forget and the ones who killed her," says the earl.

"My dear sweet daughter, Road. We will never forget her. Who did this?" says Sheryl.

"Kanda Yuu and Ian Bookman Jr," an akuma reports.

"Kill them upon sight. Spread it to everyone."

She walked listlessly in the empty town. At the edge, she saw a gathering of people, all wearing black. In the middle was a coffin. Out of curiosity, she made her way through them and looked underneath the glass.

It was a familiar face. Too familiar. It was the corpse of Lavi pale white. If she could have touched him, he would have been stone cold.

The crowd pulled her away.

"It's your fault he's dead."

Lia wakes up with eyes open wide. She breathes heavily. Her heart's pulse is erratic with fear.

"Are you alright," asks Zee.

She looks around to find herself in the library. How did she get there?

"You fell asleep while doing your work. What's wrong?"

"I'm fine. Just a few nightmares."

"Rest," he says.

"I'm fine. I'll rest later."

The rain poured heavily. She's drenched and cold. The streets were empty. She knocked at every door but nothing happened. No one would open the door to a street rat. No one ever did.

She looked for a corner in the alley. There was a bit of a space that could shield her from the rain but that required her to stand for hours until the rain stopped.

She didn't complain and took her place. From that corner, she saw a child with his mother. They were as wet as she was but they looked warm and happy.

Lia wakes up in her room. She shivers from the cold. She holds on to the covers and wraps herself in them tighter.

It has been awhile since she had a dream about that. It isn't a scary one so it's no nightmare but it is sad.

They stopped when she was with Lavi but now they're back. She knows she's not alone but Lavi and Tyki aren't there. The last she saw of them was in a nightmare where they both died.

Eeez is there but the reason he is even there is because of Lavi. She knows that he is sincere in his kindness to her but he's not Lavi.

A knock comes at her door. She gets up and opens it to find Jairo.

"You look scared," he observed.

"I'm not."

"It's taking a toll on you, isn't it?"

"What do you want?"

"Do you even remember how you got to your room?"

She tries recalling but can't. The last thing she can remember is the library.

"You fainted awhile back. Zee would have brought you to the infirmary but you didn't want to."

"That still doesn't explain why you're here."

"You're definitely not alright. Go see the doctor. We can't have you acting like that."

"I'm fine."

"You're a brat, a real trouble but you're worth being here."

"You're being emotional. I still don't see the point."

"Shut it. My point is, it'd be a waste if you lose your job."

"You care when you shouldn't."

"I'm not the only one with a heart. We're still human. Bookman is too. He's letting us off but don't push it."

"I'm still not seeing a doctor."

"Talk to your friend then, apparently you have one and he's the only one."

"Traitor!" familiar faces cried.

"You're on the side of the Noah!"

"Kill her!"

A crowd surrounded her making no room for her to escape.

The noise won't stop. They all cried out calling her a traitor. She blocked them from her mind.

It's not real.

They stopped. The room became empty. Suddenly familiar footsteps approached.

"You no longer have a right to be an apprentice of Bookman," the old man said.

Lia wakes up out of breath. The dreams are messing her up. She gets up quickly and lights the lamp. She takes out ink and paper to write.

Record of a Bookman Apprentice, (Month/Day/Year)

Title: Secrets

Number: 11

In the middle of the night, I wake up to my nightmares. I can't help them, I'm still human no matter how I'm supposed to be unaffected.

It's worse than when I was a little girl.

It's killing me. I'm lucky I'm the only one in my room. They can't find out how messed up my mind is.

They know already I have them sometimes but if they find out how bad it is, they'll put me in the ward just as that girl had been.

Bookman no longer trusts me. He never really did.

If I have an unstable mind, all the more reason for him to remove me from my post. And I'm not that too keen on keeping it but the moment I lose this privilege, he'll take my memories away. I don't want that.

Eeez sleeps soundly in his room but a soft knock wakes him. He gets up to find Lia at the door. He lets her in with no question.

"You're not getting better. You should see a doctor," he says seeing the dark rings in her eyes and the exhaustion shown on her face.

"I'm fine."

"Komui is handling it. They won't interrogate you for now."

"No. I'm fine. I'm just here to talk."

"Then talk."

She needs to leave the order. She can't keep confining herself inside the room if not the library for her work. She needs to see Tyki. She wants to see Lavi but she can't meet him and she won't be able to. Eeez is helping her but she can't seem to calm down what's bothering her inside.

She needs to see for real that he is not dead. Eeez offers to meet with Tyki but she needs to see him herself.

They take a day off plan is to visit Zee's hometown and let her recover by finally going out after two weeks of confinement in the order.

They are obviously followed but they act as if they don't know. They take the train.

Once they arrived at Zee's hometown, they walk through the streets until they finally reach the house where Zee was adopted into. His family had died, killed off by the akuma. He's visiting their grave. They stay for a short while inside the house. Their tail is still there but won't be able to follow them inside.

The tail looks through the window. He sees the two just talking and resting. He doesn't see the other person in the room hidden from his view. Tyki was by the stairs. The two follow. Their tail couldn't do anything since the door is locked and he'll be heard if he attempts anything.

"Tyki, about Road. I'm sorry," she says after closing the door behind her where Eeez waits outside to look out for them. The windows in this room are boarded up so no one would be able to see them from outside.

"Indeed, such a sad thing that she's gone. The one to replace her isn't the same Road I knew."

"Is that so? Who replaced her?"

It's faster than they expected. Usually, the noah wouldn't reawaken that quickly.

"A young boy near her age. They're still the same type of trouble. He still remembers parts of his past."

"Oh."

"You're not doing well," he says.

"Road didn't exactly give me a good dream. I'm near losing my mind. It's hard to keep calm. I'm glad to know you're alive."

"You don't need to keep calm all the time. Didn't I tell you? Don't act too mature for your age, menina. You don't need to keep things all to yourself."

"I'm not a little girl anymore, Tyki. You should stop calling me that," she smiles lightly despite the tears falling down.

"You'll always be menina," he says holding her tight.

She continues crying and shaking in his arms.

"Now, now, menina. Everything will be alright."

"Is he alright?" she asks.

"You mean, Eyepatch-kun? He is doing just fine."

Whether she knows that he and Lavi meet or just asking out of need to know he's alright, he can't tell.

"How did I know?" she lightly laughs at his expression of surprise.

"He has a certain smell of ink and old books. You don't write or read much, Tyki. I noticed before. I just took my chances that you met recently. He's the one who told you to look out for me, right? I know about him sending Eeez too and talking to someone in the order."

"You're really smart, menina."

"Of course, I have to be. He's really okay? Not hurt?"

"Not hurt."

"Thank you. I'm glad you're okay. You're not allowed to die yet, okay? What would happen to Eeez and I?"

"I promise. Now you need to go before your tail gets suspicious."

"Won't you talk with Eeez?"

"We already did. Now go."

"Okay."

When the Lia and Eeez go out the house, their tail goes inside to look around. He leaves quickly when he finds nothing. He reports back to headquarters about what he has observed. He is ordered to keep tailing them. He runs fast to see them boarding the train. He catches up at the last cart.
