AN: Okay, so this really is the last chapter of Blaze. I've had such a blast writing it, especially since it was my first adventure into multi-chapter writing. I'm so grateful for all of you that have taken the time to follow this story and review. Reading those reviews have made my day on many occasions. You guys are awesome, writing would be a whole lot less fun without knowing people were out there reading. So, I express my truest, deepest, and most passionate thank yous to all of you. Here's some fluffy cheese for you. Have a wonderful day and I'm sure I'll 'see' you around.
Pressing my upper body urgently along Arizona to hold her up, I grinned into the smooth skin of her neck as her legs came up around my waist. I bit down on her pulse point as I continued to pump quickly in and out of her drenched core. The sweet and spicy scent of my girlfriend washed over me and invaded my senses, intensifying my desire. Her back collided repeatedly with the cold tile of the wall as she clung to my shoulders. A guttural moan washed over my ears as I felt her walls compress even tighter around my fingers. Vaguely remembering our situation, I swiftly moved my head to take her mouth in a blazing kiss, swallowing any additional alerts of ecstasy. I curled my fingers deep within her, hitting that magical spot, and my thumb pressed tightly against her clit. A frenzied whimper escaped her lips between our dueling mouths as she suddenly shuddered and trembled with release. I slowed my ministrations in time with the gradually decreasing tremors. My kisses lessened in fierceness and increased in tenderness, gently bringing her back.
Finally, all movement stopped, with the exception of heaving chests and desperate puffs of air. My forehead rested against hers, and she let her legs shakily drop to the floor. "Whoa." Her voice was raspy and thick, not to mention, mouth wateringly sexy.
"Yeah." Looking into her eyes, I inched my fingers from her center, grinning at the pout that formed on her flushed lips. Not removing my eyes from hers, I brought my fingers to my lips and darted my tongue out to leisurely lick them clean. Arizona's eyes darkened again, but before either of us could move, our heads snapped toward the stall door as we heard the door to the bathroom creak open.
Arizona bit her lip in attempt to quiet her still uneven breaths, and I covered my mouth to hold in the giggle that wanted to escape. Arizona's eyes were wide in fear, her cheeks tinged pink from our lusty rendezvous, her hair stuck out haphazardly, and her bottom lip was stuck between her teeth. I snorted at the sight. Arizona immediately pinched my arm and glared at me, which made me laugh harder. Arizona continued to shoot warning daggers at me as a calm voice filled the bathroom, "You can stop trying to pretend you're not in there. We all know where you went and what you're doing in here." Arizona sighed, pulled up and zipped her pants as I grinned in amusement.
After placing one last quick kiss on my lips, Arizona opened up the stall door and I followed her out. Teddy stood smirking at us, with an eyebrow raised. "Teddy." Arizona said simply, but with an unwavering smug grin.
"Arizona." Teddy replied. As Teddy slipped into the stall to take care of appropriate bathroom business, we stared goofily in the mirror at each other as she fixed her hair and I washed my hands. My stomach fluttered at the look of pure love and desire that she sent through the reflective glass. After all this time, her loving me still gives me the tingles. I tossed my damp paper towel into the trash can and silently held my hand out to her, which she took with an almost shy grin, lacing our fingers together.
Just as I grasped the door handle, Teddy's voice called out over the sound of the toilet flushing, "Oh, just a heads up, ladies, they have a bet going on how long the two of you would be in here messing around."
I groaned, "Awesome." Arizona just grinned brighter.
Walking out, hand in hand, the guys erupted in loud whistles and applause. Way to keep it low key, boys. Just as I was about to tell them to shut up, or something equally eloquent, Arizona took a grand, sweeping bow, "Thank you."
Recovering from the shock of Arizona freely pandering to the savages, I raised an eyebrow and smirked, "Oh, I see. I screw you up against a wall, rock your world, and you take all the credit?"
Arizona's jaw dropped at my brazen taunt as I slid into the booth. Regaining her tenuous composure, she slid in next to me, "Don't flatter yourself, Calliope. You're nothing without me…" She leaned over and kissed me purposefully, daring me to argue. Crap, she wins.
Rolling my eyes, I turned to the guys, looking to change the subject, "So, who won the bet?"
Arizona giggled at my concede as Mark pouted, "Teddy won the first one, because she cheated."
Teddy mock gasped, "I did not!"
Karev chimed in, "Uh, yeah, you did. You went in there and interrupted them. Who knows how long they might have been in there."
Teddy just snickered as she accepted her winnings, causing me to snap my attention back to Sloan, "Wait, the first bet? There was another one?"
Avery sighed, "Yeah, and Sadie won that one. It was for who we thought was giving and who was taking. You just admitted that you were doing the giving, and she was the only one that bet on you."
Sadie giggled, "Hey, I know my sex faces, Callie was ready to take care of business."
I scowled, "Not only are you guys twisted and gross…I'm also a little offended that nobody thinks I might top Arizona."
The guys sniggered and shrugged their shoulders. Arizona squeezed my thigh, beaming, "Aw, baby, don't worry about it, they don't need to know or have any opinion of our sex life."
I slumped a little in my seat, mumbling, "You can say that because you're the dominant lesbian."
Arizona leaned over and kissed my cheek, whispering huskily, "How about when we get home, you can help me prove them wrong."
Smiling, I straightened up and placed a quick kiss on her lips, "Naw, I like when you're bossy." Arizona winked and turned her attention back to the guys, who were now intensely discussing the most stylish way to enter a building. Chuck Norris round house kick seemed to be the favorite so far. I grinned as I slightly tuned out the chatter, choosing to watch their faces light up and expressions change. This would be the part of the romantic comedy where voices fade out and cheesy music plays over slightly out of focus shots of laughing friends. This is the happily ever after at the end of every chick flick.
I've been back on my team for just under three months now, and everything is great. The guys are my family and being with them and working with them feels like it was meant to be. Then, there's Arizona. She's without a doubt the love of my life. My stomach knots and I quickly inhale as a wave of emotions threaten to swallow me whole. Loving her can be a little overwhelming at times, but it's something I'm more than willing to take on for the rest of my life.
Downing my third shot, I glance at the clock and begin to fidget with my fingernails. I have a surprise for Arizona, and it's set to happen at nine thirty. When my leg began to shake under the table, Arizona noticed that I was nervous. "Hey, what's up?" Her voice came out soft and concerned.
I plastered on a grin, "Nothing, I'm good." Seeing the clock reach the goal, I sucked in a breath, and nodded to the guys, "I'm going to go grab another drink." I could feel Arizona watch me go, but refused to look back. I stood at the bar for a moment, waiting for one of the guys to distract her. Finally, feeling her eyes leave my back side, I glanced over my shoulder to see Teddy talking animatedly with Arizona. Perfect. Taking a deep breath and patting my back pocket, I wove through the crowd toward the stage. Signaling the DJ, I waited patiently for him to fade out the music before grabbing a microphone and stepping up to the small stage. "Hey, there. Sorry to interrupt, but I have a surprise for the most amazing person in my life…" I comically lowered my voice, grinning seductively, "Arizona, this one's for you…"
Across the bar, I could see Arizona's eyes widen and a blinding smile take over her face. I winked, then pulled a long breath in, starting when the music cued me. My voice came out deep and rich as I began moving with the music and conveying all my love for her through my eyes.
Girl you got me tripping on sunshine
God knows you just made my day
Since you came around, no
I just can't slow down, no
I wanna see you walkin' my way.
Even from the stage, I could see Arizona's eyes darken and her body turn fully toward me, completely engrossed in my sensual movement in front of her. With the beginning of the next verse, I jumped from the stage and started to stalk toward her, bouncing slightly with the beat.
Girl you got me thinking about diamonds
And getting down on one knee, maybe two
People may stop and stare, but
I don't even care, no
Just as long as I'm with you
Ensnaring her with my eyes had the intended effect, not only did she seem to squirm in excitement, but she jumped in shock as Mark came from the left side of the room, belting the chorus.
You got me running on sunshine
Ain't no clouds getting in my way
I must be running on sunshine
Ain't no rain getting in my way
I continued to dance closer and closer to her, never losing my gleeful grin. The room erupted in more cheers as Avery burst from her right to bellow the next verse.
Girl you got me acting real crazy
Chasing tail like some old dog
Oh I got this rocket
In my front left pocket
Ready to explode like a bomb
I finally reached Arizona, who hadn't let her eyes stray from my body. I detected all sorts of emotions swirling around in the sapphire depths of her eyes, and it nearly stole my breath from the song. When Karev started singing behind her, throwing on a little soul, I gently slid into her lap, making sure to glide every enticing part of my body along hers.
Something tells me your name is Lucy
Cause everything keeps shaking around
We can cop a room
Make these walls go boom
We can do this right here and now
Then, the entire ensemble sang the chorus, surrounding Arizona with goofy faces and questionable voices. Sadie and Teddy wiggled in their seats, getting a kick out of being closed in by the tipsy men singing to the couple. Owen looked slightly terrified.
You got me running on sunshine
Ain't no clouds getting in my way
I must be running on sunshine
Ain't no rain getting in my way
I took one last moment to reconsider my plan. There would be no going back in a few seconds. I gazed into her eyes as the guys continued to sing. Her dimples popped in delight, her arms held my hips firmly and she bit her lip trying to control her arousal. Yep, this is what I wanted. I dipped my head and kissed her lips sweetly, then turned so my lips brushed her ear. "Arizona, will you marry me?" As the breathy whisper tumbled from my lips, I could feel her gasp and tighten her grip on me. Pulling back, I locked my hopeful russet eyes with her sparkling, startled blue ones.
Arizona remained quiet for a second, allowing my heart to skip a few beats, before she quickly nodded and smiled even wider than she had been a minute before. Using both hands, I grabbed her face and crashed our lips together. After a few seconds, I reluctantly broke the kiss due to our surroundings. The crowd cheered and whistled as I reached into my back pocket and pulled out a elegant diamond ring and fit it on her trembling hand. Smiling in unadulterated joy, I backed up, pulling her with me. We held each other close as I finished the song with the guys.
You got me running on sunshine No doubt, no doubt about it
Ain't no clouds in my know
I must be running on sunshine
Ain't no rain getting in my way
And there ain't no clouds in my sky
The gathering audience screamed and applauded in approval as the guys bowed and I swooped in for another searing kiss with Arizona. Our tongues twisted around and caressed the other, moving together in fluid motions of practiced perfection. Pulling away a few moments later, Arizona glowed as I winked and turned to the guys, my arm still wrapped securely around her waist and her head tucked onto my shoulder, "Thanks guys, you were awesome." I smiled sincerely at them, truly grateful they had agreed to help me with my proposal.
"Yes, but who was the most awesome?" Avery grinned and batted his eyelashes.
I chuckled, "It's just too close to call. How about I let my fiancé choose?" I giddily turned to Arizona, "What do you think?"
"I think I love being called your fiancé…and you were definitely the most awesome." Arizona cheekily smirked.
"Aw, come on, that's not fair." Sloan whined. "You can't choose her."
"Sorry, boys, I'll choose her every time," Arizona said, her eyes finding mine and softening with admiration, causing my heart to do a cartwheel.
"Ew, you're getting a little mushy for my taste, I'm getting another drink." Avery grumbled as he walked away, the rest of the guys agreeing and following close behind.
Arizona leaned into me and sighed, "I can't believe you just proposed to me…at Joe's…in a song…with all the guys singing with you."
Suddenly, a little self conscious, I bit my lip, "Did you like it? I mean, I know you're not a big fan of public proposals, but I thought if no one knew I proposed until you said yes, then it wouldn't be as big a deal, but I get it, if-"
Arizona cut me off with a soft kiss, then assured me, "I loved it. I love that song. I love that it was fun and flashy, but still intimate. Just like you. And, even more than that, I love being engaged to you."
"Good, I'm kinda liking it myself." I swatted her ass as we took our seat. Sadie and Teddy began gushing about how romantic the singing and dancing was, and how happy they were for us. I really was listening and appreciative, but mostly my focus was on the blonde bombshell snuggled up against me with her hand stroking my thigh, testing some fairly tender spots. I couldn't wait to get home and make love to my fiancé.
About twenty minutes later, I realized that Arizona had slipped away at some point during my debate with Sadie about tongue piercings. I scanned the crowd at the bar, and the surrounding groups of people, but I could not spot Arizona. I furrowed my brow, about to hoist myself out of my seat, when the lights dimmed and the spotlight illuminated the stage. The melodic voice of my wife to be spoke into the microphone, "Hey, so I figured since my fiancé," She paused as her emphasis caused the crowd to cheer, then continued, "sang to me, it's only fair that I sing to her as well." She nodded to me as the music started, her dimples popping dazzlingly. I immediately recognized the opening notes as Universe and U, one of my favorite songs. Love surged through me as I grinned brightly to show my approval of song choice.
Suddenly, she furrowed her brows and cocked her head, pretending to internally debate something. Nodding decisively to herself, she spun around and made a comical cut throat motion to the DJ, and flourished her hand in the air, as if indicating a song change. The DJ grinned and nodded in understanding, then quickly switched songs. Curious as to what the hell was going on, I tilted my head to hear the next song. Seeing Arizona's grin spread wide and mischievous, I caught the first notes, and immediately started cracking up.
I continued to laugh and shake my head in pleasurable disbelief as Arizona morphed her voice into a nasally drawl, and shimmed sensually on stage.
I love myself, I want you to love me,
When I feel down, I want you above me,
I search myself, I want you to find me,
I forget myself, I want you to remind me.
She looked so incredible on stage, so confident and sexy. That added to the subject matter instantly caused me to blush and hold my breath. As the chorus started she winked and began making her way off stage.
I don't want anybody else,
When I think about you I touch myself,
Oh, I don't want anybody else,
Oh, no, oh, no, oh, no.
The mass of drunken people whooped and hollered in appreciation of her song choice and graceful moves as she sauntered toward me. Her eyes blazed, boring into mine with unrestrained desire. Arizona reached me just as the next verse started. Her voice was now low and sultry.
You're the one that makes me come runnin',
You're the sun that makes me shine,
When you're around I'm always laughing,
I wanna make you mine.
With the next verse, Arizona transformed her performance to almost a power ballad. She balled her fists, wailed out the lyrics, and dramatically mimicked the lines. The sight causing me to drop my head into my hands in mock humiliation.
I close my eyes and see you before me,
I think I would die if you were to ignore me,
A fool could see just how much I adore you,
I'd get down on my knees; I'd do anything for you
I drug my eyes back up at her as she continued with the sassy lyrics, telling me she loved me with her own impish panache. We grinned good naturedly at each other as the crowd cheered and encouraged Arizona.
I don't want anybody else,
When I think about you I touch myself
Ahh ohh I don't want anybody else
Oh no, oh no, oh no.
She yanked me up, tugging me flush against her body, speaking the next words, only to flare up in a rock star fashion at the end.
I want you
I don't want anybody else
And when I think about you; I touch myself
Ooh, ooOoh, ooOh, aaaaahhhh.
I looped my arms around her neck as she sweetly finished out the song, never once breaking her deep and loving gaze into my soul. My heart burned with passion and my body hummed with anticipation. I could not wait to begin the rest of my life with this woman.
I don't want anybody else
When I think about you I touch myself
Oh, I don't want anybody else,
Oh no, Oh no, Oh no.
THE END
AN: The songs were "Running on Sunshine" by Jesus Jackson (or Grey's Cast Version) and "I Touch Myself" by Divinyls. I always thought Callie was super hot in the 'Running on Sunshine' bit of the musical episode, so I've always wanted to use it in a story. ; )
