Natsu POV:

"We finally made it out alive! I'm never riding that stupid transportation again!" I kissed the ground as everyone began to shot me weird looks. I turn to see Sting copy my actions and head-but him. "Are you making fun of me, bastard?"

"And if I am," Sting smirks only to be kicked by a black boot which I laughed only to be kicked as well. I got up to see it was Lucy who had a displeased look on her face. She shook her head and headed to the direction of her home while I cocked my head to the side and wondered what's wrong.

"Lucy doesn't look too happy," Fro states as we all nodded and decided to head for the guild except me. I took the fast route to Lucy's house and enter her bedroom window making it right on time as the keys turned in the lock. I settle myself against the comfy bed and watch her come into view with a sad look.

"Oh Natsu it's you. Try not to make a mess okay," Lucy sighs as she sets her things and sits down on her chair. She pulls out things from her desk and begins writing as I watch her intently. After a few minutes she stops and turns to look at me with a light blush in her rosy cheeks. For some weird reason my stomach did a flip at Lucy acting so cute. Wait cute since when have I've been calling her that?

"What are you watching me so intently for? Do I have something in my face?" Lucy touches her face as I continue to stare at her.

"Yeah an ink mark here I got it," I wiped up the smudge that was on her cheek and felt nervous on touching her soft cheek. Hold on what the hell am I thinking about this is Lucy for crying out! "Um...so what's with the sour mood lately?" I asked because I didn't want to know what may happen if I got any closer to her face.

"It's because I...don't see myself as a potential girlfriend material. Everyone has someone they have like Mira and Freed or Yukino and Sting, but there is no guy out there for me," Lucy looked down for a minute as I thought on how wrong she is. Every time those damn playboys tried to get close to her I made sure to burn their butts or whenever Rogue or Rufus tries to get near her I trip them or hurried to her side.

"I bet you are wrong and that there are plenty of guys out there that want to have a date with you," I suddenly said out of the blue as Lucy and I stare at each other in surprise.

"Yeah right like who?" she raised an eyebrow on me and I thought on what I should say next.

"How about me? We can try going on a date tomorrow and then later meet up with the guild," I shrugged my shoulders to see her face turned stunned and slowly came back to her surroundings.

"There is no way you could pull that off or be romantic," Lucy shook her head as I took offense to that.

"Yes I can be romantic and I will show you. I'll pick you up at noon and show you the best date you will ever have. We can make this into a bet," I smirked in satisfaction of my plan I think.

"Fine, but the winner gets to make the loser do one command. Be prepare to be my maid the whole day Natsu," Lucy half-smiles as I grin at her challenge.

"Since it's early, I better go get things set. Prepare to be amazed at my awesome romantic skills Luce," I winked at her which surprised both of us of my actions.

"...Alright bye idiot Natsu," Lucy was silent for a few seconds but quickly went back to herself and continue on her story. As I jumped down the window, I realized one problem in my plan. How do people act romanitc on dates? That sudden question hit me hard as I think back on my experience of love which I thought only considered love for my family. Maybe Mira can help. She's usually good at this sort of stuff or Fro since I heard from Happy lately that he helps out with love troubles. I ran inside the guild and spotted Mira about to serve Freed, then I grabbed her and Fro who was standing near the door. Ignoring the weird stares from my guildmates, I stormed out of the guild and headed for my home. Once inside I set them on the couch and stood across from them.

"Um...Natsu why did you bring us here?" Mira looks around to see what might have cause me to go strange.

"Fro doesn't understand what's wrong with Natsu. Are you hungry for Fro's fish?" Fro pulls out his fish to give to me which I shook my head "no."

"I need help with something," I scratched my head as the two tilted their heads to figure out what.

"And that something is making you act of character, right?" Mira raises an eye as I nodded my head.

"...Natsu if it's about babies or what those things Mira has on her chest, then Fro has no clue and doesn't know either," Fro speaks up innocently as I turned red a little. I pat his head and sighed about how gullible he is.

"Uh...it's okay I don't need help with that. I sort of need help with beingromanticonmydatewithLucytomorrow," I spoke nervously and rushed at the end. Mira's eyes widen as Fro looks between us to figure out what was going on.

"Fro didn't understand what he said. Mira...why are your eyes shining like stars?" Fro looks at Mira once more to see her smiling happily and looking up as her mind thought of little Natsu's and Lucy's. I knew she was going to react that way, but for some reason her eyes flashed determinedly at me, should I be scared?

"Oh Fro our little Natsu is trying to be romantic with our Lucy...We have to make it a big hit then," She clenches her fist and pumps it into the air as Fro cheers as well.

"Maybe I should ask someone else for help-p...," a petite white hand grips on my forearm tightly as I look over to see Mira smiling at me. For some reason that smile looked threatening and I closed my mouth shut and sat on the couch.

"Good now we shall go on with the mission," Mira and Fro cheered as I thought sulky to myself what have I done.

The Next Day:

I arrived five minutes early to pick up Lucy and made sure my outfit was alright with just blue jeans and a button-up shirt. I grumbled as I thought of how yesterday Mira made me ask Ice Prick for a pair of pants. That was the most weirdest thing I have ever done in my life, but it's also my fault for not having my own since I didn't think it was my style. I scratched my neck feeling uncomfortable that my scarf wasn't wrapped around it and this shades looked pretty cool if I didn't feel like a weirdo. Is that how Lucy feels every time she changes into different clothes? I knocked on the door and could hear Lucy coming down the stairs. Once she opens her door, she stares at me and I give her a grin, then slams the door on my face. I was about to knock on it once more when she slowly opens it and peeks through.

"Ah hey Luce, is something wrong?" I asked as she shakes her head and closes the door then locks it. She has a green dress on with brown shorts underneath and a belt that wraps around her waist followed by her usual brown boots. Her hair was let down and she looked pretty isn't the right word...um like a star? We started walking out in silence which was seriously weird and awkward until I reached my arm out to stop her from falling into the river. She blushed and avoided my eyes as I set her gently on the ground.

"You okay? You need to stop spacing around like some weirdo Luce," I joked as she looked up and cracked a smile before frowning, then smacking my arm.

"I'm not a weirdo, you are. I mean you didn't break into my house last night or go through the window. You're not even dressed in your usual clothes even your scarf is gone," She thinks and stares at me in wonder. Okay good now I'll try flirting with her and see how it goes.

"Well maybe this is the side of me you never seen before," I winked at her as she stared at me and looked away. I frown wondering if I'm doing everything right, but Lucy doesn't even meet me in the eye. That's never happened to me before, but why do I feel like she doesn't see me as more as a friend...wait what in the world am I thinking? I looked back to see her staring at some clothes and sigh knowing where this will lead me to.

"If you want we can look at some clothes," I smiled as she looked up in surprise and flashes me a grateful smile as we wasted thirty minutes looking at clothes and leaving with only a few dresses she picked out which looked pretty cute on her. Now we decided to drop off the clothes in her house and head for the next destination which was a surprise for her. I pulled her hand and guide her through the streets until we reached the cafe were she usually gets her favorite coffee of Vanilla Bean at. I was about to sit when I remembered to pull out a chair for her and making sure not to screw up. I mean it shouldn't be that hard...right? Boy was I wrong the minute I pulled out the chair for Lucy was a little to quick because she took a step back to avoid get hit by the chair's legs and bumped into the waiter who had a plate of pie as he was about to serve someone. Well you can say that the pie didn't get on the waiter which was a miracle or Lucy which made me sigh in relief, but it got on someone's head who happened to be me. I let out an exasperated breath as Lucy cover her mouth from laughing at the display I was probably making. We sat down and the waiter continue to apologize for his carelessness as I kept telling him it was alright. I cleaned up with the towel he gave me and saw our food coming over.

"Wait miss, I believe you got the order wrong. He usually has a lot more than this," Lucy gestures at me with an amused expression while I just smirked. Two can play at this game, but what she doesn't know I decided to order less food today.

"Nope, see he didn't order much probably because he is on a date with his girlfriend," She winked as Lucy stared at me while I shot her a teasing look and noticed that the waitress was Mira in disguise. We ate in silence once again and decided to head over to the park. Once we got there, we sat on top of a hill and watched the little kids go at it on a game of tag. I noticed her distant look and began asking her some questions.

"So how is your day so far?" I watched as she looked at me and thought about the events so far.

"Hm...I guess interesting especially the pie thing. Wait until everyone hears about it," I groan as she giggled at my expression, then smiled softly at me.

"So does that mean I win?" I flashed her a grin as she pouts at me.

"You do realize we are still on the so called date and you just loss some points for that one," Lucy pulls out a notebook and scratches something.

"No fair, how am I suppose to know when these end. Lucy you are a weirdo," I whined as Lucy looks back at me and then returns to change the score. Damn not fair Luce.

"Well I know you aren't suppose to lose that mature attitude you had earlier, besides it was sort of weird how you were out of character today," Lucy pulls her knees up and hugs them as I raised an eye.

"Okay what do you mean by that?" I see her look up at the sky then turns to me in a confuse expression.

"I don't know, I guess I'm use to childish, strong, immature idiot Natsu that I didn't know you could also be polite, mature and sweet Natsu," I stared at her in shock and was about to ask when I entirely said something different.

"Did you just called me an idiot?" were the words that came out as Lucy gives me a strange look and starts to laugh. Pouty at her sudden change I pushed her lightly but another thing happened. Lucy slipped and began to rolled down the hill as I sweat-drop that she was so going to kill me later. I went after and slipped as well as I rolled down the hill and got my motion sickness back. I couldn't see where I was going but I know I hit something soft as we tumbled to a stop. I groan due to the sickness leaving me and look up to see the little kids from earlier stare at us.

"Mommy look what is that man doing to the pretty lady?" A little girl called as I blinked at her words and looked down to see my hands were on Lucy chest. My face turned completely red as Lucy shook her head from the dizziness and turned red as well.

"Oh my! How indecent are you two? Go somewhere else where children don't have to see that sort of public display!" a mother scold us as she told the children to go back to their parents. I quickly got off of her and rubbed my head in embarrassment while Lucy hugged herself and looked the other way. I noticed that it was time to head for the guild and didn't want to be late to cause some more problems. I spoke to Lucy and she nodded as we continued to the guild in silence. Wow...how many times have we been quiet today?

"Before I forget I have something for you," I called as she looked at me in wonder. While I reached in on my left side, I felt the little box in my pockets. I use my right hand to shove open the guild door revealing darkness as Lucy looked up in confusion while I was trying to hide my smile. As she walked in, the lights were turned on and everybody yelled surprise as she smiles at them warmly. She goes around saying thanks to everyone as I went upstairs to go see the stars on the balcony. I smiled at how fun today was just like any adventure with her by my side. I sigh in pleasure of the sweet scent of her as she opened the door where the music can be heard from downstairs. I looked over my shoulder to see her walk up to me and copy my actions on gazing at the stars.

"So thanks Natsu for making my day feel special. I can't believe I forgot my own birthday," Lucy shakes her head as I laughed at her.

"Well I did distract you to remember anything at all. Oh Luce here I thought you make like it," I handed her the birthday present I bought in town from our last mission. She opened it gently and keys lit up when she picked up a key necklace with a star in the top.

"Wow Natsu it's beautiful, thank you," She looks at it and fingers it as if it were something delicate. I stuffed my hands in my pocket and looked at the stars.

"Yeah like you, want me to put it on you?" I felt her stare at me and nod as I took the key and watch her pick up her hair. I clicked the necklace on and smiled as she turned to hold it once more.

"Hey it's changing colors," Lucy exclaimed as I saw the color turn orange and smiled to myself.

"I forgot to mention that it changes colors depending on the mood you are in. So you're happy huh," I explained as her smile was filled of pure joy. "Oh yeah so who won the bet?" I waited to hear her response as I looked down and then felt something press onto my cheek. I look up to see her flushing, but a small smile on her sweet lips.

"Congrats Natsu, you won, so want do you want me to do?" I stared at her necklace to see the light purple and smirked. Lucy begins to worry at my expression, but then I pulled on her wrist toward me. I lightly cup her face and stared at her lovely brown eyes as I slowly stare to come in. She blushes, but slowly closes her eyes as I drew near. I was about to finally kiss her when Stripper walked in.

"Hey Lucy they need to...um...I'll let her know you are busy. Finally grew a pair huh Flame Head," Gray stops and begins to walk away as he turns and smirks at me. I get that bastard later and turned back to see Lucy looking so embarrassed at getting caught.

"Lucy what I want you to do is kiss me and be mine," I stared into her eyes as she turned even more red.

"Idiot Natsu," She mutters as I grinned and kissed her gently, then with more passionate.

"By the way impressed with my romantic skills," I smirked as she pouts at me when I pulled away.

"I admit I guess even you can be pretty romantic," Lucy smiles as I returned back.

"But to let you know I asked Fro and Mira for help. Let's be honest how was I going to pull off today," I chuckled at her surprised eyes as she narrows them at me.

"Wait that's not fair! You can't ask for help, then that means I win," I stroked her hair as she huffs at me and looks away.

"No you didn't say anything about not asking for help so that was all on you," I pulled her chin towards me to meet her eyes.

"I hate when you pick up things and pretend to be an idiot about it," She states in a dead face look as I chuckled once more.

"I love you too Luce, besides you already got the key to my heart," I watched as she turned red once more and smack my stomach.

"I love you too Natsu for being my idiot," She smiles teasingly as I kissed her hard this time. Now I can't wait for our next adventure to begin!
