/Blunt the Knives/
There was a great thundering as they all ran, pounding the ground beneath them, following their leader who loped ahead of them all.
They headed towards what they hoped would be their future home, where they would no longer need to fear being hunted by all, or subjugated by some.
Their leader had gathered them all from the corners of their territories, talked to all of his underlings, and decided this was best.
He had considered carefully the words of the odd woman and her even odder fellows, had taken his time to trust her, but, in the end, he had decided the fate of his people lay in an alliance they might make with the Children of Mahal.
So they were going to Erebor.
/Bend Forks/
The wagons rolled along on the trail, squeaking and groaning from the wood audible to all who listened, as was the low mumbling of all of the travelers.
The dwarves of Rhun were not known for being very talkative, but, still, the long journey from Rhun to Erebor was a breeding ground for boredom and they had to entertain themselves somehow.
Perci and Remy were sitting on the front seat of their wagon, chatting away, Perci smacking Remy on the arm every time he made a bad or lewd joke, their oxen just plodding along behind the wagon in front of them without really any direction at all.
Nimrohir rode Goliath a ways out from the wagon train, his eyes raking over the terrain and watching his older dwarven friends with a careful eye, ready to help should they have any trouble.
But mostly Nim kept an eye on the wagon he now knew held the assassins who sought to do harm to the Royal Family of Erebor. Nim had only recently learned this information due to the help of the two dwarves who had often served as informants for he, Sam, and Burb when they were running around Rhun, catching all of the criminals and troublemakers to be found in the vicinity.
The odd duo was made up of an older dwarf with graying ginger hair and a younger dwarf with scar on his face and a missing finger. They were kind dwarves, who seemed to share Sam's tendency to watch out for the dwarves of Erebor.
They had found a partially burned bounty for the Royal Family of Erebor in the camp fire of the dwarves of the wagon Nim now spied, and had given the bounty to Nim to use for evidence when they arrived.
Not a surprising occurrence considering they had been the ones to help Nim, Sam, and Burb find out about the plot to begin with.
But Nim became distracted when he heard a sound behind him, caused by a creature that Goliath was not weary of, and a messenger he had not looked to see.

I hope you enjoyed that!
I'm sorry that I am late and that this is so short, hence the little look into things going on in places other than Erebor, but I am currently moving and finishing things up at work, so this is all I had time for. Hopefully I will be able to write longer chapters soon!
Reviews are always appreciated!
