Day 35: Saturday

A/N: I really hope I can finish the entire thing, scratch that I know I can finish this.

Sandy's POV

I barely slept knowing Shadow would pester me about the emerald today if I wasn't done, unfortunately I have a lot more shards to work with than the first time. I stopped my progress at hearing the door slide open, looking over my shoulder Ma was standing there with a cup of coffee. I gave her a weary smile and took the cup sipping from it lightly. I later asked "Where's Shadow, I thought he would be by the door?"

She flung her hand to the door replying "I told him to sleep on the couch so he wouldn't bother you when you came out."

Putting the cup down, I walked in the living room to see Shadow still sleep. Quietly taking a step towards him, I poked him earning a soft moan. Apparently a trickle of blood came from my nose at that, covering it with my hand I watched as Shadow put his arm across his face, asking "What are you doing, Female?"

I shook my head in response; a sigh erupted from him as he stretched. The same trickle gushed as a heat sped to my cheeks. He raised an eyebrow at me once I realized I was on the floor, meeting his gaze I yelled "You did that on purpose!"

"What are you…" a grin spread across his face in either satisfaction or smugness, it was probably both.

I stood and walked to the bathroom, muttering "Stupid nosebleed…it's all Shadow's fault."

Walking past my bed, I caught a whiff of lavender. I ignored it and continued drying my nose, turning around I was met with the source of the foul smell. A look of concern plastered his face as he asked "You alright?"

I closed my eyes, answering "Course I am, don't worry about it."

I walked away from him before he could continue speaking; I heard the phone ring minutes later. Picking it up, a laced voice said "Good talking to you again doll."

I smiled lightly answering "Hey, Rouge. Nice talking to you also."

"So I heard you and Shadow are an item." She stated, I could imagine the smile on her face as she said that.

I shook my head, denying "What part of 'It will never happen' don't you guys understand?"

She chuckled, replying "It's obvious; it's almost as if you two are inseparable."

"No we ain't, I don't understand how y'all have gotten that idea." I stated sitting down.

I heard shuffling on the line, and finally Rouge spoke "I'm pretty you woke Shadow up and had a nosebleed. I could hear it your voice, therefore I have proof."

I sighed, asking "I doubt you have other proof, where are you getting this information from anyway?"

"Easy, I hacked into your security system and cameras." She replied as I rested a hand on my head.

"Can we talk about this later?" I said feeling a headache beginning to form.

"Sure, doll." She replied, the click of the receiver signified she hung up. I stood up and walked outside to see Vector on Shadow's back, he waved at me as Shadow continued doing push-ups as if Vector was the lightest thing on earth. I sat next to them, watching with slight amazement. I asked "How many has he done?"

Vector thought for a moment, before replying "Roughly around three…hundred, I think."

I gulped and looked at Shadow, who only smirked and continued without a word. I walked back in only to get hugged by Calvin, looking in slight pain at the action. "Are you using that salve I gave ya yesterday?" I asked glancing at his ribs.

He nodded saying "Yeah, I thought you'd just let me suffer."

He took my hand continuing "You're a very nice girl."

A light blush crossed my face at the compliment. Taking my hand away, I nodded and held a hand to my head. I leaned on the wall, retorting "Thanks, you're not too bad yourself."

A smile crossed his features as he asked "I don't see while that hedgehog is so clingy, it's obvious you can take care of yourself."

"Shadow, sure he may be over protective but he means well." I replied feeling the headache get worse.

His words faded out the more I listened, I looked away from him at hearing Shadow walk in. He looked at me with a towel over his shoulder, I'm positive I saw a light smile on his face. Later my vision blurred as I felt the wind rush past me, the only thing I saw was darkness. Hearing them call me I struggled to open my eyes, but failed. 'Just let me lie here, I'll be fine.'

A/N: La cliff hanger, if you can call it that. Anyway, I might take a break. Review please.
