Months had passed since their battle with Darth Eterness. Luke and Ezra were pretty much recovered, although sometimes they still got a haunted look in their eyes. Both of them had woken up crying many nights, their spirits still greatly troubled about all that had happened. Loke had come to check on them, mumbling something about "I knew they would find trouble" as he was leaving them.

Aniya had taken Mara under her wings, teaching her the ways of the light side. She took came to visit Luke and Ezra, using different techniques to try and ease their souls. Han couldn't bear to see Luke like this, Leia cried the first time after visiting her twin upon his return. She called Padmé, begging her to come to see if she could get through to Luke.

Padmé quickly came to her son from Naboo, and saw what had concerned his twin. She called Ezra in and had them talk all about what had happened and what they were feeling. Mara and Sabine listened from the other side of the door, Sabine covering her mouth to keep her sobs from bursting out as she listened to Ezra break down.

But what happened in that room seemed to be the turning point for the two Jedi. They slowly started to recover until now the haunted looks were all that remained. Luke and Ezra were the closest of friends now, and both were drawing closer to Mara and Sabine, the four almost inseparable. As Luke and Ezra stood alone in the room where they had the best view of the Jedi town, Luke looked up at the star filled sky.

Softly he said, "The galaxy needs us Ezra." Ezra nodded his agreement, sensing the disturbance in the Force. The work of a Jedi was never done, there would always be a darkness to defeat, someone determined to rule the galaxy, the defenseless soul needing a protector, a spark of hope for a better day.

*Well that's the end of this one. I wanted to leave it open ended so I could come back to this story, as far as being a backstory, if I wanted, but with, hopefully, all questions answered. I honestly didn't know that this was where I would end up when I started writing this. It has 26156 words! That's without author's notes even. I don't plan on returning to this story anytime soon, but I have a few plans for what a sequel could include (I mean we never did find Mace now did we).

I'm not sure where the whole destruction of Darth Eterness came from, and honestly I have to say that if I had, by trying to do good, done what Luke an Ezra did, I would be a basket case. But I also don't know if it felt real/true to Star Wars. Let me know will you? I might edit it if I get enough negative feedback on it and if I can come up with something different. I hope you enjoyed this story!
