The News

Gabriella's POV

I had gone through the treatments and everything. There was a possibility that I would not conceive. But there was a small strand of hope that was there as well.

I started feeling the nausea and it made me wonder if it's possible. It had been several months but I didn't want to put any hopes up. "Aren't you suppose to be at work," I glanced up to see Kris standing at the doorway with coffee and dressed for work.

"I'm feeling a bit sick," I told her. Worry crossed her face and I gave a small smile. "I might be just the flu," I suggested.

"You want me to stay home," she asked. I shook my head and she sighed, walking over to me and took a seat at my bedside, "Ok but you'll call me if it gets worse?"

I nodded then leaned up, giving her a quick kiss. "You go and save the day," I told her.

Kris nodded then stood up, walking toward the door. "Love you," she stated.

"I love you too."

She then disappeared, leaving me alone at the apartment. As soon as the door closed, I went to the bottom of the kitchen sink where I know Kris wouldn't look. I opened the doors and pulled out the shopping bag.

"Here it goes."

R&I

Lots of water and several tests later, I looked at the tests came back. My eyes widened as my jaw dropped while I heard the front door opened and closed. "Hey, I'm on my lunch break and I thought we can go," I heard her stop. "Love?"

"In here," I croaked.

Kris appeared at the doorway of the bathroom with a curious expression. "What's in your hand," she asked. I bit my lower lip and stood up, handing the object to her. She took it unsurely then looked down.

I waited a couple minutes then her eyes widened. "It's positive. They're all positive," I told her.

"You mean..."

I nodded, "I'm pregnant."

Kris staggered back in pure surprise, leaning back against the door until she mumbled, "You're pregnant?"

I smiled and soon, a smile formed on Kris' face. She placed the test down then wrapped her arms around me and lifted me up. "Krislyn," I gasped as I wrapped my arms around her shoulders and she placed me on the counter. I gave a curious look, as she pulled away and crouched down a bit to be aligned with my stomach.

"Hi," she whispered, "I'm your other mommy."

Jane's POV- Seven weeks later

"Got to go," Kris announced as she stood up from her desk.

I glanced at my watch and replied, "It's only one."

"Doctor's appointment."

Concern crossed my face. "Another one? That's what the third one in the last month," I stated. I then stood up from my desk, stepping in front of Kris. "Are you okay," I asked softly.

Kris gave a soft assuring smile. "I'm fine, Ma," she answered. "Healthy as a horse."

"If you're sure..."

"Quite positive," she answered back. She then kissed my cheek and walked off, leaving me alone in the bullpen.

R&I

"Question for you," I said to Maura as I entered her office abruptly.

Maura jumped briefly in her seat. She then stopped typing from her laptop. "I wish you would greet me first before scaring me," she commented.

"Sorry," I apologized sheepishly. I walked over to her and leaned down, giving her a quick kiss on the lips. "Hi honey," I greeted.

Maura shook her head with a suppressed giggle and greeted back, "Hello Jane. Now about your question?"

"Right," I took a seat at the corner of her desk. "Have you spoken to Kris or Gabriella lately?"

"Not lately but is something wrong?"

"I'm not sure," I replied, leaning against the desk. "Have you noticed she gone to the doctors multiple times?"

Maura raised a curious brow. "No, I haven't noticed that. She looked well," Maura stated. Concern then crossed her face as she voiced, "You don't think she's sick?"

I took her hand into mine and answered, "If she was, she would have told us. I might just be overreacting." I then kissed her hand and whispered, "We'll find out soon."

Kris' POV

"Okay, Gabriella. You ready for the heartbeat," the OB-GYN doctor asked.

Gabriella looked up at me and I nodded. She smiled and replied, "Please."

I closed my eyes, holding Gabriella's hand until we heard a soft thump. My eyes opened and pulled my glasses out of my pocket to look at the screen. I looked over at Gabriella and I noticed the tears in her eyes.

"That's your baby," the doctor announced happily.

I let out a loud laugh. I then kissed Gabriella ardently then whispered as I wiped her tears, "I love you."

"I love you too," Gabriella whispered back.

R&I

"So when do you want to tell them," Gabriella asked as we were walking back to the car. I wrapped my arm around her waist, pulling her close to me. She indulged in this, kissing my neck.

I hummed in approval and answered, "Whenever you want to but we have to do it before I ask Nonna about that idea we talked about."

Gabriella nodded and we reached our car. She ran her hand through my hair then asked, "Can you believe this?"

I shook my head and replied, "Feels like a dream."

"It does but it's very real." She then grabbed me by lapels on my jacket. She went on her tippy toes, kissing my lips once more. I returned the kiss, holding her close, knowing how real it was.

Maura's POV- An hour later

Gabriella and Kris joined us for dinner. Jane kept a close eye on Kris, wondering what was wrong. I glanced at her briefly then looked at Gabriella. She stood up from her seat, laughing at one of the twins joke.

I followed her into the kitchen. I grabbed a glass and pulled out a wine bottle. "Would you like a drink," I asked.

Gabriella shook her head and replied, "Can't drink any."

I raised a curious eyebrow at this then my eyes widened in realization. I don't assume usually but I was so sure that I knew why she declined the glass. I placed my hand over my mouth in surprise, feeling tears gathered while Gabriella giggled, tears in her eyes also.

She placed her hand out to me and walked me back into the living room. I sat down next to Jane who noticed my expression. "Are you okay," Jane asked.

"She's fine, Ma. I think she knows Gabby and I's little secret," Kris retorted as Gabriella sat in Kris' lap.

"I don't want to assume," I retorted.

"What's the secret though," Aly piped in.

Kris and Gabriella smiled before Kris said, "So, we've been doing this for several months but we can confirm officially that Gabriella's pregnant."

I let out a loud sob while Jane's jaw dropped. "What," Aly and Liam yelled in surprise.

Kris and Gabriella giggled and Gabriella repeated, "Kris and I are having a baby."

"Holy shit," Jane stated finally.

"Language," everyone retorted.

Jane rolled her eyes. She then stood up and hugged them tightly, "I'm going to be a grandma!"

I giggled and stood up, hugging them also. The twins then hugged them with Kris mumbling, "Ok, let me out. I got to talk to Nonna now."

"About what," Jane asked. "She's going to overwhelm you."

"I know but I got to ask about something. She'll agree most likely." I gave a curious look and Kris smirked, "Then we got to see if you're okay with it."

"Okay with what," I asked.

"Having a couple with a newborn next door, ya know? Apartment is kind of small and house hunting is a bit harsh for our pockets."

Jane and I were stunned causing Kris to laugh as she walked to the back door. Gabriella continued to laugh before Jane said aloud, "Ma say yes!"

Safe to say next chapter is the final chapter in the whole series! I'll try to update as soon as possible but I'm super focused on "By the Blade" which is starting to become my favorite AU. If you haven't checked it out, please do! It's definitely different from this story LOL. Review please!
