What's up, people? Today I will be aiming to finish this arc, but that probably won't be met due to my on and off focusing on the NFL playoffs :3 So last chapter was a crossover with Elodus and his character Jack, who mega battled Owen and Charizard with his Aerodactyl, Arrow. Charizard ultimately won, but Jack and Arrow put up a good fight. After that, the group asked Daniel to join them in their journey across Kalos, and he will make his decision in this chapter! Let's get started

Defender31415: Thank you, and I highly recommend it. Even though I didn't review (which I really have to start doing when I read stories I like, lol) it's a really good story

MCMXCV: Charizard is awesomer than everyone :P But in all seriousness, he's going to get show off his strength soon, and by soon I mean two arcs

SomeGuy (guest): Haha, Larenz will be... improved, it'll just take a little while. And thanks for the compliment about the battles. I always want to give you guys the best ones I can, so I appreciate the feedback. And Charizard did master Mega Evolution really quickly, but I attribute that more to his bond with Owen. Haunter will have a much more difficult time with Mega Evolution if/when the time comes for her to learn it, unlike Charizard

FlameStriker123: The nerves are more a product of the magnitude of the decision. While I was writing that I wanted to try and make some ridiculous reason for it, but the only things I could come up with were... ridiculous, to say the least

Emboar-Man (guest): I'm actually really torn on whether Chespin will evolve or not. I think it'd be funny to see a little Chespin kicking ass all the time, but the idea of Chesnaught is so enticing. And if Tyrunt were to evolve, I think he'd become extremely strong and could vie for the role of the powerhouse, but I don't know what you mean by him being loyal. All of Owen's Pokemon are loyal already

Guardianboy: Thank you!

guest: Well, I please the people, haha. I realized I was kind of going down the path I did in Sinnoh with Electivire, so I made sure Charizard has gotten a battle once per arc, or every other. And thanks for the explanation about finding this team to be your least favorite because of the lack of personality, which I can give you two reasons for. One, I guess because I'm the author I see them for their personalities even when they're not described (you can ask MCMXCV, I create descriptions of the Pokemon and their personalities before I even write the stories), so I need to work on that more. And secondly, the main focus of this story, unlike Sinnoh and Unova which were focused on the Pokemon, is about the trainers. I haven't even gotten to that yet, but that will be the main focus very soon

Elodus: Sorry about not mentioning Jack aspiring to be a gym leader. I wasn't sure exactly how many years passed between his battle and the starting of his gym, but I'm happy to hear that you think I did a good job with him and Arrow. And no problem with recommending your story :) I really loved it, I just have to review it once I finish this arc

ShadowDragon9000: Thank you, my good man or woman ;) I love Mega Battles, so there will be a few more coming your way, and I was actually planning on having Mega Charizard Y battle next time, though you'll just have to wait and see who he battles

After arriving in his room, Daniel fell on his bed and sighed about what had just happened. Owen, Cindy, Brooklyn, and Eddy wanted him to travel with them, but did he want to? Kind of, but he didn't really know any of them. What if it turned out he hated them? He couldn't just go his separate way and then run into them at contests, that'd be weird.

"Dragonair, Dedenne, come out!" After releasing his two Pokemon from their Pokeballs, Daniel looked at them and patted their heads. "Do either of you remember Brooklyn and her friends?" Both Pokemon nodded, remembering they had only met the four for a brief moment. "Well, they just asked if we wanted to travel with them. What do you guys think?" the sixteen year old inquired as he held his Pokedex out and turned the translator on.

"No," Dragonair replied sharply. "I don't know anything about them, so I don't want to." The dragon type slithered across the room and laid down after coiling herself up, leaving Dedenne on Daniel's bed.

"I think we should give 'em a shot. If they asked you to go with them, they can't be bad people," the electric and fairy type opined wisely, making Daniel scratch his chin while taking the tiny Pokemon's words in.

"Thanks for the input, guys. I'm going to go for a walk," Daniel informed his two Pokemon as he rose from his bed and walked out the door. The two Pokemon watched as their trainer left, and they shook their heads before laying down to go to sleep. Daniel walked down the hallway holding all the rooms in the Pokemon Center before he walked out the front of the building. The warm air felt nice and he ran his hand through his hair as he began to roam the streets of Coumarine City while the moon was directly overhead.

"Do you want to come with us? Come on, it would be awesome!" The words rang in his head as he thought back to the end of Owen's battle with Jack and the excitement in Eddy's voice.

"There's no way he could fake being that happy. And they were all nodding, so maybe it isn't such a bad idea to go with them." Daniel continued to walk down a paved street until he reached the end and was forced to make a left. "It'd be weird traveling with Brooklyn, though. After all, we're competing against each other in contests." Once again, Daniel sighed and he reached the end of the road, which overlooked the water.

"I guess I'll get over that. That's it, I'm going to travel with them."

"Hold on, kid." Daniel's eyes widened when he saw a man pointing a gun at him, making the teen throw his arms up without hesitation. "You're the one that almost had me arrested today!" the man screamed in rage as he walked towards Daniel, who began to walk backwards in fear. "But you're not the one that stopped me. Dial that kid's number and hand me your Pokedex," the man that stole Jack's Pokeball ordered.

"O-okay, just stop pointing the gun at me," Daniel pleaded as he began to dial Owen's number, which he somehow knew even though they never exchanged numbers (it was a complete coincidence, I swear!). The sixteen year old then handed his Pokedex over to the man and waited as Owen's PokeGear rang.

"Hey, I've got your buddy in front of me, punk. Meet us by the cliff near the ocean without anyone else, otherwise I shoot your friend." With that, the man hung up and put the Pokedex in his pocket, a smug grin spreading across his face.

"Wait wait wait. Daniel was kidnapped!?" Brooklyn shouted as Owen clipped his belt back on and placed his six Pokeballs in each of the spots on his belt. "How is that even possible? Doesn't he have his Pokemon with him?"

"I don't know, but I want you to stay with Eddy and Cindy while I go deal with this," Owen told Brooklyn and Charizard as he began to walk out of the room before being stopped by Brooklyn grabbing his shoulders and turning him around.

"Please... be safe," she said before hugging Owen. The taller teen's stomach twisted again before he nodded awkwardly and walked out of the room. Once the door closed behind him, Owen let out a sigh of relief before he walked down the hall and he knocked on Daniel's door. The door opened slightly, and Owen was met by Dragonair, who had a suspicious look on her face.

"Hey, are you alright?" Owen inquired, making Dragonair confused and worried. The dragon type began speaking to Dedenne, and they both walked out of the room and looked at Owen nervously. "Don't worry, I know where he is. Come on, let's go." The teen walked out of the Pokemon Center with Dragonair and Dedenne while he sent Frogadier out of his Pokeball.

"Froga!" Frogadier cried as usual when he felt the warm air hit his body. He looked around and was confused by the group he was with, but he didn't say anything when Owen started talking to himself.

"He said to meet at the cliff overlooking the ocean, so we have to take a left up here." The teen and three Pokemon turned at the corner just as Daniel had done earlier in the night. "Now, Dragonair and Dedenne, I want you two to stay back and hide when I meet this guy. I was supposed to come alone, so I don't know how he'd react if he saw either of you."

"Ne-Ne," Dedenne answered obediently. Dragonair, however, shook her head in refusal.

"Dragonair, you just have to trust me. I know you want to help Daniel, but I don't want him or you getting hurt," the Kantonian replied, making Dragonair nod reluctantly.

"Okay, you guys wait here. If we need backup, I'll call for you." The two Pokemon nodded and sat back as Owen walked towards the cliff overlooking the ocean, but he was confused when no one was around. Once he turned around, he saw the thief from earlier in the day walk towards him while holding Daniel like a hostage. The most terrifying part about the situation was the gun pointed at Owen, and he raised his arms while Frogadier crawled away and into the darkness.

"Well well well, look who we have here. You're that brat that almost got me arrested," the thief started, making Daniel sweat drop as he realized the introduction was nearly identical to the one he heard earlier.

"I'm here, so let him go," Owen ordered, making the thug laugh. "What's so funny?" the teen asked as he noticed Frogadier was positioned behind the gunman, ready to take the man down if he made any moves.

"You think you're in a position to tell me what to do? I have the gun, so you can shut your mouth!" Owen froze as the man placed his finger on the trigger, a wicked smirk creeping across his face. "Now I'm going to kill you and your friend." Owen and Daniel gulped as the man pointed his gun at Owen's head, but he was stopped when Frogadier latched onto his back and put his arms around the man's throat before yanking him to the ground. Upon impact with the ground, the gun fell out of the man's hand, and Frogadier scurried over to it before handing it to Owen.

"Hey, are you okay, Daniel?" Owen quizzed as the older teen ran to Owen with a terrified expression on his face.

"Yeah. Thanks for saving me." He then turned and stared at the man while Dragonair and Dedenne appeared and hugged Daniel. Dragonair then glared at the man and waited for Daniel to give an order that would finish him off, but the coordinator didn't.

"Let's turn this guy in ourselves," Owen said as he released his five other Pokemon, who glared at the man and stood in front of him defensively. Daniel nodded, and the two picked the man up while they threw his gun in the ocean.

"So you were kidnapped by the guy that stole Jack's Pokeball? That's crazy!" Cindy exclaimed as Daniel leaned back in his chair and laughed at the girl's reaction. "I can't believe you saved him, Owen."

"It was really Frogadier that did everything. He disarmed the guy and used his frubbles to pin him to the ground," Owen replied modestly, making Frogadier beam while his teammates cheered for him.

"So, Daniel, did you make your decision yet?" Eddy asked, making Daniel laugh along with everyone else.

"Yeah I did, actually." The teen paused, making Eddy wait in anticipation along with the others, though they didn't show it. "I'd be more than glad to travel with you guys!"

"Wahoo!" Eddy and Cindy screamed as they threw their arms in the air in a celebratory fashion while Owen and Brooklyn smiled at Daniel and nodded.

"So, where to next?"

"Lumiose City. There's a contest and Owen's gym battle," Brooklyn replied.

"Let's head out first thing tomorrow!" Daniel exclaimed.

And Daniel has joined the crew! I know the solution was solved pretty quickly and fairly anticlimactically, but it is what it is. So, the group will be heading out of Coumarine after next chapter, while a character or two from Owen's past will resurface. Who are these characters? Till next time, peace out.

1) Who do you think the characters are?

Next Chapter: "Double Date Double Battle": Before heading for Lumiose City, the group spends one more day in Coumarine, where they run into a pair of familiar faces. How will their last day in Coumarine play out?
