AN/ Okay the last chapter wasn't that good to me and I hope this one will be better! I am not a doctor so I don't think this could really happen to a person.

Nathan ran to his room next to see if Haley was resting in bed. His door was open and there was no beautiful girlfriend in his bed like this morning. Why did they have to wake up?

Nathan threw his phone at his dresser. It knocked off the lamp. He walked over to his dresser. They were in there and all he had to do was wash them down with some water. And that was what he planned to do.

Brooke waited for Lucas to come back as she paced around in his room. She was caught off of his thoughts when she heard shouting and then a loud crash from another room. She froze. No, Nathan! God he found out about us! Then she heard a door slam in the house and then all was quiet again.

Flush…2 more… flush and with that they were all gone. Nathan opened the bathroom door that he recently slammed shut. He walked over and laid on his bed. It wasn't registering in his head yet, that Haley was in the hospital again. She was just here a few hours ago. He held her only hours ago. He rubbed his eyes to stop the tears that wanted to fall out. What am I doing? I'm supposed to be at the hospital with her and all I can worry about is trying not to cry. Come on Nathan, be more considerate. With that thought, he quickly got up and went to find the keys to Lucas's car.

He heard shuffling in Lucas's bedroom. How long has he been home? "Lucas?" He called as he walked in. it wasn't Lucas but it was his best friend. "Brooke? What are you doing here?"

Brooke was sitting on Lucas's bed. "Oh I was just…looking for you! So I didn't see Haley today and we were supposed to wrap our gifts for tomorrow. I thought she would be with you." She said. She stopped to study Nathan's face. "Nate what's wrong?"

"Haley's in the hospital again Brooke and I almost…I almost took them again."

Brooke slapped Nathan across the face. "How could you be so stupid Nate? I almost suffered through losing you once and I can't do that. What about Haley?"

"Trust me, I've told her about the past mistake I made and I also told her that I wasn't going to do that again."

"Where are the pills?" She demanded as she stuck out her hand.

"I just got done flushing them. I need to get to the hospital. Do you want to come with me?"

"I think I'll just wait here. Tell her to hang in there for me." Brooke said before hugging Nathan. "If I haven't said it lately, I'm proud of you Nathan." She patted his back and let go. "You should get going huh? I'll see you at Christmas tomorrow."

Nathan nodded before running out the door.

I'm in a hospital bed again! It's just where I want to be on Christmas Eve. At least they gave me pain killer. I looked over to Karen. Thankfully she was there at the café to drive me over to this lovely place. "Karen, how long is it going to take for them to figure out what's wrong with me?"

"I don't know Sweetie but I'm going to wait with you. Did you try calling Nathan again?"

I shook my head. "I didn't want him to answer. Since I think I probably worried him with my message."

"Nathan's going to worry about you no matter what because he loves you."

I smiled. Yeah he does. "Is he happier at the house?"

"Well he spends a lot of time in his room. After all the time he's spent in there you would think he was unpacked. I'll try to threaten him with if you're room is not clean then Haley can't spend Christmas with us. Is Whitey coming too?"

"Actually he's actually staying with Camilla's sister's family. He does say thank you for letting me still stay."

"I don't want you to be alone on the holidays. What about your friend?"

"I haven't talked to her much but I think she'll be over at Peyton's. Then I'll see her when Brooke has her party."

My doctor stepped into the room. "Ms. Roe, I'm Haley's Doctor, Dr. Carmine." He turned to Haley. "How are you feeling Miss James?"

"Well the pain killer haven't worn off yet so I'm rather happy." I smiled.

"I have your diagnosis."

"Um could we wait until my boyfriend gets here? He shouldn't be long." I said giving myself a boost of confidence. Then I saw a blurred raven haired boy run right past my room. "That would be him now. "Nathan!" I giggled when he ran back and stopped in the doorway. "Hey."

He slowly walked in, obviously embarrassed. He came over and kissed me on the forehead. Then he took a seat next to Karen. Karen looked over to her son and rested her hand on his leg, trying to comfort him.

Dr. Carmine nodded before he started talking. "It seems that you're stomach hasn't been properly cared for by you. Have you started eating normally again?"

"I've tried but every time I would eat, my stomach would start hurting to the point where I wanted to cry for hours." I looked over to Nathan after I said that. I could tell that he felt horrible for not noticing sooner. It was my fault, I should have told him sooner.

"Well the pain you are experiencing is from your stomach acid. It's eating up your stomach lining. It needs food Haley. But since it has spasm, were going to give you an acid reducer."

"Is she going to have to stay here overnight?" Nathan cut in.

"It's up to Haley." The doctor nodded again before leaving the room.

Karen got up after. "I'll let you two talk. I hope you'll come home Haley."

"Nathan I…"

He got up and took my hand. Then he kissed my palm. "Shh, it's okay baby. I'm sorry I didn't get here fast enough. I had to take care of something. That doesn't mean you weren't important."

I nodded as I slide my hand through his messy hair. "I should have told you about this sooner. I mean each time you wanted to take me out for dinner I had to make up excuses."

"God's not trying to kill you Haley. I'm not going to let that happen."

"I know I just got really scared. Did I ruin the holidays for you yet?"

"Nah, I would have brought Christmas to you." He leaned down and captured his lips with mine.

"Well I'll just come back later," I heard Lucas say.

I pulled away from Nathan who started cursing at Lucas. I hushed him. "No Luke, its fine. How'd you know I was here?"

"Oh Brooke told me when I got back from the river court." He said as he walked over and gave me a hug.

Nathan raised his eyebrow at Lucas and then he got angry. He shook his head. "Hales, I need to talk to Lucas."

I nodded. "I'm just going to call the nurse and tell her I want to go home with you."

"Nathan, what are you so pissed about?" Lucas asked once out of Haley's ear shot zone.

"Are you and Brooke back together?"

"What?"

"Do not play dumb with me Lucas! I saw her while I was at the house. She was in your room and I don't think Brooke would just play hide and seek in your room. So do you want to tell me or should I just ask Brooke about it?" Nathan asked angrily.

Lucas sighed. "We wanted to tell you Nate, but Brooke didn't want you upset. So what if we're back together? You can't stop us."

"I'm tired of guys walking all over her. When you were together the first time, after Chase, Brooke was happy and I didn't think you would screw her over, nut you did. I swear if you do it a second time, you will never get a chance with any girl again." Nathan warned.

"I only want Brooke. I'm the guy for her. Why don't you let me worry about her, while you go take care of Haley?" Lucas offered. "We'll see you at Christmas tomorrow, since Brooke is staying over." Lucas told him before walking down the hallway.

Nathan leaned against the wall in the hallway. Could this day get any crazier? A few minutes later he walked back into Haley's room. "What do you think your doing?" he asked as he watched her.

"I'm getting up." She sat back down and chuckled softly. "Could you help me?"

Nathan walked over and stood in front of her. "Alright, give me your hands."

Haley felt the heat form his warm hands over her cold ones. That's how she knew she was safe. She didn't even have to try pulling herself because Nathan did it in one swift motion. Haley wrapped her arms around his neck. "Thank you," She said before pulling him down for another kiss.

"Do girls really use The Notebook to have sex?" Jake asked while he, Kelsey, and his sister looked though the DVDs

Kelsey shrugged. "I've never used it. It seems pointless and unfair to any guy who would have to sit through that."

"I am so glad that you hate chick flicks." He smiled over at her. "So are you staying the night again? I mean I know that you always do. I just didn't know since tonight was Christmas Eve."

"I think so. Haley's staying over at Lucas's and Whitey was going to visit Camilla's family." She said as she pretended to look through the shelf. "Is there anything worth watching?"

"I don't maybe you should actually look instead of flirting with your ex." Peyton whispered to her.

"I'm not flirting. We're talking. There's a difference."

"Fine, but I can tell you both like it." Peyton said as she moved on to the horror section.

Kelsey moved over to Jake. "That one looks good. I haven't seen that." She said over his shoulder.

Jake shivered at the closeness between them. "Yeah? That means we have to get it. I promise not to use it against you." he joked.

"You wouldn't have to use a movie to get with me." She said. "I'll go get some snacks."

Jake watched her back as she left to the counter.

"Here, hold these while I look some more." Peyton said as she plopped a pile of movies in his hands.

He looked down and chuckled. "Peyton I think fifteen movies is enough. You're going to have to watch these by yourself because Kelsey's not into scary movies."

"She could always hide her eyes or hide in your neck." Peyton suggested in a joking manner, but not to Jake.

"Peyt, we're trying to be friends and so far it's awesome. I should have done this when I met her. Stop trying to push us together."

"I'm not. I just like movies."

"Haley!" Brooke ran over to me and hugged me tightly. "You scared me! I knew you weren't fine when we went shopping. I can drag you to a mall but not a hospital." She said.

"We might have to take Hales back if you don't let her go." Lucas told her as he held her shoulders.

Brooke let go. "Lucas," She brushed him off.

"It's okay Brooke, I know." Nathan said as he entered the house with my bags. "You weren't really going to lie to me were you Davis?"

"Nathan I'm sorry." She said dramatically. "So since its 11:30, could we just open our presents at midnight?" She asked Lucas.

Nathan shook his head. "I think Haley needs to rest."

Brooke turned to me. "Haley, couldn't you just cuddle up on the couch with Nathan while we open our presents? He could carry you if you fell asleep." She started to pout.

"Okay," I said.

"Do you know what you just agreed to?" Lucas asked me.

I felt a pair of strong arms go around my waist. "She agreed to cuddle up with me on the couch. I have no problem with that." He kissed the side of my neck with a few hot kisses.

I tilted my head back feeling the sensations he was giving me. "Nathan," I breathed out. I felt him smile against my skin.

He pulled his face out of my neck. "Come on, I need to talk to you about something." He twirled me around and brought me to his room. He sat my on his lap as he sat on his bad and rested against a pillow. Gently he placed his hand under my shirt and rubbed my back. "I had an eventful day." He said in a hushed voice. "If you ever see my father don't let him talk to you." he warned me.

I turned to face him. "What is he doing to you now?"

"He found out what I did and he can call the police to come pick me up."

"He wouldn't do that to you. He's just trying to scare you." I lied down next to him and rested my head on his chest. "Besides, I won't let them take you in. I know what happened. You saved me."

"You saved me too. I was going to do something that I was going to regret and then I got your message. I thought about how much it was going to hurt you so I got rid of the pills from last year."

"What are you talking about?"

"I flushed them. Lucas's friend Skills just pushed me over the edge and I thought about taking them."

I didn't know what to say. His confessions just came pouring out. I wasn't mad at him. I was really proud of him. "It sucks that you're father doesn't know how strong his son is."

"I love you Haley. I truly mean that. I never thought that I could be an amaze to someone else." He took my hand and kissed it.

"I love you too."

"That was the dumbest ending of any movie I have ever been forced to sit through!" Kelsey laughed. "I can't believe people thought this was a good movie."

"I agree with you on that one but, you never would have hated it if I didn't rent it. So you're welcome." Jake said as he turned off the TV. "I guess you would be heading up to Peyton's room?"

She shook her head. "I thought that maybe I would stay down here with you and watch crappy television at twelve in the morning until we fell asleep."

Jake's caught a lump in his throat. "Sure," his voiced cracked with nerves.

"Unless you don't want me to?"

"You just caught me by surprise that's all."

"Oh," Kelsey jumped from the couch. "I'm sorry. I'm so stupid."

"No you're not. I just thought about it in the wrong way. Not that our relationship was wrong or anything." Great job Sawyer, now she'll never want to be with you.

"Is this weird for you? Us being this friendly?"

"What would happen if I told you hell yeah?"

Without thinking, Kelsey crashed her lips onto Jake's.

I sat on the couch with Nathan's comforter around me as I rested with him on the couch. Hopefully he would like my gifts. I tried my best. The only person who was wide awake was Brooke, too bad for you Luke.

"Okay, um Lucas you're the first to give me my gift!" Brooke cheerfully said. Brooke took the slender box from Lucas. She quickly unwrapped it. Then her face turned to awe. "Luke,"

"I'd said it suits you well." He told her. He sat closer to you. "Please tell me that you like it."

"I love it." She pulled out the silver chain that read Pretty Girl. "Haley did you see what my man got me?" she said keeping her eyes glued to her gift.

"Lucas that was really sweet of you." I yawned. I kind of already knew what he got her since I had to order it from my computer because brook was always on Lucas's.

Nathan shifted on the couch to pull his gift from his pocket. It looked like a ring box but it I knew that Nathan wasn't that insane so I just smiled.

"There's no need to freak out on me Hales." He passed the box on to me.

I opened the box. It was the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. "Tell me that these are not real diamonds?" I said. I didn't even want to touch it because I didn't want to ruin it.

"They're real. It's a promise ring. Trust me only love struck idiots get married in high school. I'm not ready to be your idiot even though English is helping you see that." He leaned in and gave me a passionate kiss on my lips. I felt his tongue push on my bottom lip and I let him slip it in. I heard a groan escape his mouth when I pulled away.

"Sorry about that baby, but I think I should give you yours." I took the envelope from under the tree. "Here,"

"Awe a card thanks. I really love it." He smirked.

I swatted his arm. "I know you'll love it if you opened it already."

"A picture of us making out you're right now I'll always be turned on in my room. Karen's going to kick me out."

"No silly. It's for that one frame in your room. You told me you wanted a picture of us together so I made Brooke spy on us to get a good one."

"My Davis kept silent the whole time?" He asked Brooke.

"Yeah I was surprised too." Brooke smiled. "There's more to your gift."

Nathan stuck his hand inside the envelope and pulled out two tickets. "Haley I can't take these." He said softly.

"Oh, why not."

"Because I'm going to be too busy thanking you." he smirked. "Baby, do you know how much I love the Bobcats?"

"Not as much as you love me?"

"That would sum it up." He pulled me in for another kiss. "I love my girl more than anything."

"And you love your brother enough to take him with you!" Lucas chimed in.

Nathan didn't have to pull away when he threw a pillow to hit Lucas in the face.
