Episode 9 Love is a Battlefield part 2

I asked "What is she doing in-" but stopped when I saw Carol evade an attack and jump to the side. A huge red alien punched the ground she previously stood on then continued to chase her, but I knew it wasn't just any red alien. "Oh no."

"Atrocitus." Hal's face filled with determination and he flew through the portal.

"Jordan, wait!" Killowag said and he and Razer flew after him. But the Portal closed before anyone else could fly through it. "Do you know what the heck that was?" Killowag asked.

I said from my seat, "Razer would know."

Said Red Lantern rolled his eyes and said, "A Portal, he's been transported to Zamaron."

"We got to high tail it there." Killowag stated. "Atrocitus was waiting for him. Atrocitus!"

Cody looked at me, still sitting in the same spot ,"The same that guy you said was the former leader of the Red Lanterns? The one that took Hal almost thirty minutes to take down?"

"Yep."

"You seem cheery."

"I'm internally praying for Hal NOT TO BE DESTROYED!"

"So why don't we just go there?" Killowag stopped me and Cody's conversation.

"Zamaron is in Frontier Space." Razer answered, "We would have to Ultra-Warp."

Killowag didn't hesitate, "Then let's go."

"Wait?" I almost laughed. "Know you're ready to use the Ultra-Warp?"

"I have a friend to save." Killowag said walking down to his seat. "How long will it take for you to calculate, Razer?"

The Red lantern went to his seat and pulled up the map. "Since I was just getting used to how the controls work, this time it would take me less than an hour."

"Then do it." Killowag ordered.

"I'm starting to think this is normal for you guys." Cody said, "Somehow one of you guy's ends up going on your own and the whole group would have to bust you guys out."

"You should see it when Aya is here, it's mostly her who saves our asses." We both laughed and smiled. Suddenly it felt like the pressure was dropping in the room and I felt a little sick. A small spasm of pain went through my left side and I winced. I put a hand on the panel to keep myself from tipping over. With the other hand I rubbed my temple and I closed my eyes to keep the world from spinning. Someone put their hands on my shoulder and realized it was Cody when he asked, "Is it hurting?"

"A little, I'm fine."

Cody looked up as Killowag came over seeing the whole scene and asked, "Hey Kiddo, I think you should rest."

"But I want to stay out here and help if I can."

"You won't help Hal if you end up hurting yourself more." I slumped in my seat, knowing he was right. Cody was thinking real long and hard of something and then said, "how about I try and heal her. If there is one thing I can do to help, it's that."

"Can you really?" I asked.

"I can try." he pulled up his chair closer to mine. "It can't be that much deferent then meditating." He leaned forward and held out his hand. "This may be the most awkward thing I'm going to ask….but…can i- Ok maybe I should just explain-"

Killowag was getting annoyed, "Spit it out already, Sketch."

"Don't rush him, Killowag. You were saying, Cody…"

"Right, well for this to work I need to make contact with the person in need of healing."

"Oh." I grabbed his outstretched hand. "Like this?" Instantly, I was surrounded in glowing green now that I was contact with blue energy, or as Killowag liked to call it, super charged.

"Whoa!" Cody said in surprise. "I was not expecting that."

"Hey, wait a minute." Killowag said, "Since he's a Blue Lantern, shouldn't I also be super charged. Hey, Red, is your ring working?" Razer looked up from his spot in front of the hologram computer and lifted up his right hand. His ring started to glow red, he looked confused and looked to Cody and me.

Cody just said, "Maybe my power isn't that strong like Saintwalker and Warth's, I've only been at this for a week." The pain on my side slowly eased as the minutes went by. Killowag had stopped watching and was helping Razer with the calculations. Soon, I felt myself feel fully energized and the pain was dimmed to a small sore spot. I smiled and let go of his hand, standing up. "Wait, not so fast!" Cody said. I ignored him and took off the blanket and proceeded to lift up my shirt. Cody covered his eyes and yelled, "GAH!"

"Relax, I'm not lifting it up all the way. Besides, I'm wearing a sports bra."

"Oh, right."

"Wait, did you think-

"NO!-yes- I mean" *face palm*

I lifted up my shirt to see that the bruise was no longer growing on my left side but turning into a small, light blue almost skin color. I let go of his hand and stood up quickly. Cody said, "Sorry it's all I can do."

"Are you kidding. You're the best. This is better than I can do to anyone else. Thank you so much." Without thinking, I leaned down and hugged him quickly. I let go of him after I realized what I did. I blushed, "Sorry."

I heard a snort from Razer and I turned to face him. "Don't even…" I said through gritted teeth. He raised his hands up in surrender. I went into the middle of the room and stood there. Then I did a cartwheel landing easily on my feet again and put my hands up in final position. "Finally! Ready for action!"

"Good." Killowag said.

"Because we're ready to Ultra-Warp." Razer finished.

Cody was holding onto his seat for dear life. "What is going on?!"

"You don't have to scream." I said, "We're just in an ultra-warp tunnel, like a Worm hole, but it takes us farther."

"Really? How fast?"

"A few more minutes." When those minutes past, we were tossed, literally, out of the Ultra-Warp. It spun a little until Killowag was finally able to bring us to a stop. We ran out of the room and down to the hanger as fast as we could. When the ramp was open we made our way out and slowed down when we saw Aya-Monitor was there, standing over everyone and holding Hal and Carol, who was in her Star Sapphire outfit, in a freeze ray. Even though we stopped to watch, Razer didn't.

"Aya!" Razer yelled flying to our NAV Com who was still attached to the Anti-Monitor. I looked at the scene around me. We were at the Garden facing the back side of the Sapphire Castle. A bunch of Manhunters were on the balcony and Star Sapphires were standing at the garden surrounding Aga'Po who was kneeling on the ground. She held a limp figure in her arms. I gasped when I saw it was Gia'ta, wounded in her arms. The ring? There is no ringing, it can't be too late. I flew down and landed in front of Aga'Po. I knelt down and asked, "It's too late, isn't it?" Aga'Po nodded sadly.

"Oh no." I heard Cody from behind me. He stood there and looked down sadly. "I would try and help, I can't bring her back."

I looked at Cody. "No healer can bring people back from the dead." I said sadly.

"To destroy life," Aya began, "A single planet at a time is illogical and inefficient. I will find a way to erase all life in one motion and remake the entire universe in my own image. Free of all Emotion." She let go of Hal and Carol and then she took off with the Manhunters following her. We watched and stayed quiet until we saw them as specks in the sky.

Killowag had gone off to look for Galia while the other three boys where doing who knows what. I stood at the door outside a room in the castle with Carol next to me. We watched as some Sapphires laid Gia'ta's lifeless body on the table. Two women took a white sheet and laid it over her body. Before they covered her face, I took a look at Gia'ta and her calm, serine, features, as if she were asleep. I remembered the last time I saw her, she helped us escape. The bravery I saw in her to change the way these people think. Now they know what true love is and they treat us like real guest, all because of her. Now, she's gone. And we never got to return her the favor. She saved us, twice.

Carol put one arm on my shoulder. I turned around and hugged her and began to cry. Carol pulled me closer to her and I heard her sniffle a little, too. Carol, Hal, and I were really good friends of Gia'tah, and we won't forget her. We heard steps from down the hall to our right. I turned to face whoever it was and saw some old friends of mine; Leida, Bothe, and Tai'le. Leida was an unusual Zamoran, she looked like any other except she had long raven black hair. Bothe and Tai'le are twins and they had the same purplish hue hair like all the others. The last time I saw them, I was trying to get away, but now….

Leida steps forward and I notice tear stains on her face. "Mary." I let go of Carol and go over and hug her. She hugs me back as the twins come over and create a group of hug of a sort. "Mary we are so sorry for ever trying to-"

"Whatever it is you don't have to apologize. I forgive you. And believe me it's hard to hear that come from me." I heard Carol laugh a little from behind me. The girls let go of me and turned to face Carol. They gasped and started to whisper things like "It's Carol Ferris of Earth."

"Looks like I'm a celebrity here." Carol said.

I said to Carol, "More like a role model."

We heard footsteps again from down the hall and in came Cody saying, "Geez it's so hard to find your way around here. And you know what I realize, everyone here is a girl." I face palmed when he said that.

Leida and the Twins looked at Cody and I noticed their eyes go up and down checking him out. Bothe said, "Who might you be?"

"Um…Cody…Cody Royal."

Bothe and Tai'le started to whisper and giggle, "Oh he looks like such a prince."

"Even his name sounds like one, too."

I rolled my eyes. Girls. Cody started to look a little sheepish as the Zamoran girls came to inspect him. Carol whispered to me, "He's human."

"Yeah, of course. He and I go to school together."

"How come I never heard of him?"

"Oh, he's new. Both at school and at this whole Blue Lantern thing."

"Wait, now there are Blue Lanterns?"

"This is exactly the reason why you and Hal should stay close, you hardly get the info."

"I hardly ever got the info before."

"But now you know, and he was willing to give it all up for you."

Carol stood silent and held up her ring hand. It glowed pink for a second and then she said, "Maybe he doesn't have to."

I wanted to ask her how but giggling brought me back to Cody and the girls, Leida said, "So you and Mary go to…school…and see each other every day? That is so sweet."

Bothe said, "I wish I could see a boy every day." Bothe but her hand on his shoulder and let it trail down his arm. I started to fell hot and my face turned to a pout. What she talking about? And why is she touching him? Leida must have noticed my mood change and she turned between me and Cody. She went up to Bothe and pulled her away lightly. Leida said, "Let us not crowd the poor gentlemen and have him tell us what he's here for."

Cody stammered and walked a little backwards. "Right-um-the-the Queen wants to see Carol and Mary at the Main Crystal Throne Room."

"Oh, ok then." Carol said as she flew up and went down the hall.

"Will we see you again?" Leida asked me.

"Sure, now that the Ultra Warp coils work, we can try paying a visit."

"Friends?" All three of them said. I went in between the twins and put an arm around each one. I faced Leida and said, "Friends? I thought we already were."

After leaving Bothe, Tai'le and Leida, Cody and I made it in time to meet up the others. As we waited for Agapo to finish talking with some of her guards, Hal was helping Carol with introductions, "This lovely bunch here is Killowag and Razer."

Killowag went up to Carol which made me laugh because she had to look up a little being smaller than the Bullivaxion. "So you're the Carol I've been hearing all about."

"You've heard of me. What have you heard exactly?" Hal was standing behind Carol and doing arm motions to Killowag, signaling him to not tell everything he told him about her.

"Uh…" Killowag muttered. "Let's just say he has a real special thing for yah." Carol smiled and lifted an eyebrow, turning to face Hal.

"Am I missing something?" Cody asked me.

"Hal really likes Carol." I whispered to him. Cody got the idea and nodded his head

"Carol Ferris and Hal Jordan." Aga'Po began speaking. We all stood straight to face her, "You have saved us from destruction, we are forever grateful."

"I only wished we could have save Gia'ta." Carol said sadly. "She is a true hero. We'll keep her in our hearts."

"The last time you were here you returned the Star Sapphire ring, and this time…" She faltered, waiting for Carol to finish it.

The woman looked at her ring and thought hard. I whispered, "You do look great in pink and I don't say that to just anybody."

Carol smiled and looked up at Aga'Po, "I think I might keep it, you never know when it might come in handy."

"You honor us by doing so." Aga'Po went over to some Crystals growing by the side and moved her hand over them, making them glow pink. She summoned a portal behind us and it appeared in the center of the room.

Hal turned to Carol, "So…"

She came up and kissed him on the cheek, "Thanks for being there when I called, Hal."

I whistled loudly and rolled along the balls of my feet. The crew, Cody, and Carol stared at me, and then Carol got the message. "No were not officially together." I stopped whistling and frowned. Then she made me happy when she finished with, "Yet." I did a small fist pump for victory. She came up to me and whispered in my ear, "But I think I should ask you the question with that Blue Lantern over there."

"Da-duh, what-"

"I'll be seeing you around." She faced Hal, "The Galaxy." And with that Carol walked through portal and it disappeared. When the bright light cleared the room, Hal told Aga'Po that we had to go.

"Very well. May love guide you safely through this journey." We said our goodbye's and made our way out. Once we were outside the room, Hal put a hand on Razer's shoulder. Hal said, "We need to talk."

A.N: Well, will you look at that, Cody's helpful and yet he still can't keep calm on the face of Ultra-warp. Leida and the twins are back and will you look at that, flirting infront of Mary. Tension! I was almost in tears, Gia'ta, why did you have to die?! Carol was bad ass in this episode by the way, but I had to write in how she gets along with Killowag like hello, this was the woman Hal always talked about and Killowag never meet her until know. Oh and Razer's in trouble, ooooooo… Well, I'm KikaKatTIOI, peace out!
