USS Enterprise NX-01 "The Great Experiment" (2151-2245): This Enterprise more than any others knew and understood her destiny. She was an intermediate between the old CVN-65 and the Enterprise E of the future. The previous Enterprise had passed on her knowledge of the future, knowledge that NX-01 was very careful with. This coupled with her experiences with "Daniels" became the standard protocol when dealing with anything time related and eventually was included in the rules of the Prime Directive. Retired in 2161 she retained the title of flagship rather than pass it on to one of the other classes that came after her such as the Miranda's stating that "only another Enterprise can inherit the title".
Deputies: Columbia (d.2158), (Miranda d.2240)
USS Enterprise NCC-1701 "The Silver Lady" (2245-2270): More than any others, it was the Constitution-class Enterprise that ensured the name would be that of flagships for all time. Her historic 5 year mission under Captain Kirk was so legendary it's studies were standard readings at the Academy as of 2490. Despite her title, Enterprise wasn't silver at all, rather she was almost pure white. A stark difference from the rest of the fleet. For some reason, all Constitution-class vessels were born with an albino gene that made them lighter. Enterprise established a system where rather than a single deputy, the flagship would have a council of ships, each highly specialized in their departments. One of these ships was Excelsior who has served every Enterprise since. The name Enterprise even has become more of a title with each inherit-ant carrying their own unique "personal" name but to the galaxy, they are known only as Enterprise. Only the Flagship's Council knows her true name. The first 1701 was the last Enterprise to be born without a secret name.
Council: Excelsior-Diplomatic, Constitution-Tactical, Bozeman-Scientific
USS Enterprise NCC-1701-A "The Peacemaker" (2270-2293): She was born as Yorktown and by the time she received the name and title of Enterprise, the Constitution-class was obsolete. Nevertheless, Enterprise A showed the galaxy she was worthy of the title with a short but exceptional service record. She discovered life in the core of the Milky Way and capped off her career with salvaging the peace at the Kithomer Accords. Following this, she was decommissioned but retained the title of flagship as she served the Chal defense fleet before perishing in an action against the Romulans.
Council: Excelsior-Diplomatic, Constitution-Tactical, Bozeman-Scientific
USS Enterprise NCC-1701-B "The Savior" (2293-2329): Enterprise B was born on Earth as Ti-Ho and carrying the knowledge of her predecessors, she was put quickly into service. Her 'maiden voyage' was a mere ceremonial venture but the curse of the name Enterprise meant that trouble was never far away. She was the first Starfleet ship to encounter the energy band known as the Nexus which provides a blissful existence for anyone who enters it although to anyone left outside, it seems as though they have simply vanished. Enterprise nearly became one of these as she rescued Al-Turian refugees from the ribbons. She succeeded but at the cost of now retired Admiral Kirk. Enterprise never forgave herself for the loss of her former captain. She gave everything to the Federation in an effort to redeem herself, becoming the most acclaimed Enterprise to date. Her works under Captain Sulu became legendary but it was never enough for her. Her class pathfinder, Excelsior, recalled "how her silver eyes held her demons, their spark lost the day she was born". Enterprise's one source of joy was her relations with the Colonials. So it came no surprise to anyone that she disobeyed Starfleet's orders and joined the battlestars in their fight to reclaim their home from the Cylons. Officially she was lost in deep space in 2329 but in reality she perished in the battle. She is remembered annually by both races.

USS Constitution "The Elder" (2329-2332): With Enterprise B gone and no Enterprise to immediately replace her, command fell to the most senior ship which was the old US frigate Constitution. She had been given command status of Sol Sector by Enterprise A and from her post in Boston Harbor, led Starfleet through the difficult 3 year period. She stepped down from Command once Enterprise C was chosen. Constitution created the existence of a fourth council ship, separating Excelsior from her diplomatic responsibility so the CMO could focus solely on her duties in the medical field.
Council: Excelsior-Medical, Lakota-Tactical, Hood-Science, Ambassador-Diplomatic
USS Enterprise C "The Brave" (2332-2344): Enterprise C was born as 'Sammy B' for the old WW2 destroyer Samuel B. Roberts, the 'destroyer escort that fought like a battleship' at Samar. Enterprise C retained Sammy B's fighting spirit. While compassionate and fair, Enterprise could be a force to be reckoned with. Her temper was legendary and was a bit unstable at times, especially during periods of high stress which was unfortunately common for the Ambassador-class as for much of her reign she was busy working to keep the fragile peace with the Klingons. This is where her council came into play a crucial role. While Lakota and Hood remained as blunt as ever telling their flagship exactly what she needed to hear, Excelsior and Ambassador became far more political while still keeping their reports accurate. Excelsior had Enterprise medicated on various drugs throughout her life to ease her high stress. While Ambassador found other, less professional ways to soothe her flagship and the two were soon bonded. Their intimacy was kept a secret as because while the Federation allowed its starships certain privileges regarding their basic instincts, such acts between a flagship and her council would not be taken lightly. The only other ship who was aware of this was Excelsior. Enterprise's desires to keep the peace between the Federation and the Klingon's faced its last and largest test as she responded to the distress call at Narenda III. Facing down three Romulan warbirds, she was nearly destroyed when an anomaly appeared in front of her and she sailed 22 years into the future. The whole future had changed with her disappearance with the Federation at war with the Klingons. A prospect which horrified Enterprise C. The one thing she found good was that she got to meet her successor, the Galaxy-class Enterprise D. Ambassador later said to Enterprise D that "you were the one thing she found more intriguing than anything else. I'm sure she would be very proud of you." As well she should be for Enterprise D's service was nothing short extraordinary.

USS Constitution "The Elder" (2344-2363): Once again, the lack of an available Enterprise forced Constitution to step into the roll of command. The nearly 700 year old frigate was the oldest ship alive in the Alpha Quadrant but she hadn't lost any of her mental capabilities and led Starfleet through the fragile peace accords with the Klingons that Enterprise C had sacrificed herself for. For many ships, especially Ambassador, it felt vindicating to finish her sister and mate's work.
Council: Excelsior-Medical, Lakota-Tactical, Hood-Science, Horatio-Diplomatic, Ambassador-Personal
USS Enterprise D "The Young Explorer" (2363-2371): Enterprise D more than any other Enterprise fulfilled the exploration aspect of Starfleet's mandate, discovering more species than all the previous Enterprise's combined despite her short service. The first Enterprise born off world (she was born at Mars), she was given the name Sparrow as her personal designation. Throughout her eight years of service only 2 ships knew this with one more learning later. Enterprise D took the title of flagship very seriously and while an explorer at heart, could easily adapt into the role of diplomat. She oversaw the succession of Gowron to the Klingon Empire, prevented a Civil War, and as long as she was in service, made any Romulan's think twice about invading her borders. Her fast paced life led to an early death as she crashed into the planet Verdian III which she had fought to save. USS Columbia was one of the ships ordered to assist her but arrived too late.
Council: Galaxy-Medical, Lakota-Tactical, Hood-Science, Horatio-Diplomatic (d.2369), Victory-Diplomatic, Ambassador-Internal Politics, Excelsior-Personal
USS Enterprise E "The Honor Bound" (2372-2410): Enterprise E was born as Honorious, a shy and quiet individual who was a twin sister of Sovereign, her pathfinder. Chosen as the successor to Enterprise D, Enterprise E rose to the task seemingly effortlessly. But inside she was plagued with doubts. Compounding this was the soul she carried. Enterprise had been around for centuries and she was tired which Enterprise E displayed in the early years of her reign. At some point after the Battle with Scimitar, Enterprise turned herself around. A she explained to her fleet "We all have our mandate. But there's more to that mandate than meets the eye. There always has been. When we explore, we're rediscovering the path our ancestors took to reach Earth millennia ago. One day, we will follow that path all the way home and each new discovery brings us one step closer to that day." Enterprise E became a well respected leader throughout the Alpha Quadrant. She had Enterprise C's fighting spirit and Enterprise D's fairness. She was the culmination of all the Enterprise's before her. So her loss was felt all the more deeply when, after being ambushed by the Undine protecting Starbase 206, she later died of her injuries. She lived just long enough to choose her successor by name.

USS Enterprise F "The Connie" (2410-?): Enterprise F was built at San Francisco like her predecessor and was to originally bear the name Constitution. She retained the name and unlike her predecessors, insisted that it was used by her ships. Foreign vessels were allowed to use it in non-formal circumstances. This insistence lead to many ships affectionately referring to her as "Connie". From the very start Enterprise was embroiled in conflict, everything from Klingons to Romulans. She lead Starfleet's last stand against the Iconians, surviving the battle. She currently works to adapt the Iconian's technology to return ships to their ancestral home in the galaxy far, far away.
