CE 2183…1530 hours…August 12...Citadel Defense station, the Citadel
"Raaagh!" Jason's fist hits the metal as a piercing Nova rips from his shields and burns the surrounding geth in dark energy. He hears the clinking of shots hitting the cover just to his right and he positions himself to duck next to it. Suddenly the ground begins to shift as the station begins to open.
"Ha! Sam got it! Now it's our turn, Tali!" he looks to the cover he used before this one as the quarian girl slides in next to him. He looks to his right, finding a pit beginning to open as part of the other Ward begins to part from the one they are on, the light of the Serpent nebula breaking from somewhere in the bottom of the pit up to them.
"I can't believe you're enjoying this!" she laughs, "You're just as bad as Wrex sometimes."
"Well I get that way when we're winning, excuse me" he teases, looking dead into her eyes. Suddenly he hears the sound of a Singularity open, and peeks from the cover to find the last guards dealt with…or at least he thought they were the last guards. Suddenly a trio of Warlords exits the building. The smallest one of the three sports very high tech and strangely clean armor. He carries a sniper rifle and his armor looks to support a cloak function, making him a Infiltrator, which makes this krogan even harder. The second has no weapon at all, only wearing thick armor that appears as a dark abyss even in this environment, his hands seem to be the only non-black part of his armor, stained with multi-colored blood. The last of the three is as big as a Prime, with the white armor to match. The behemoth simply wades into the Singularity and using his own biotics simply waves it away.
"Weak woman..." He grumbles just before motioning the other two krogan to the sides. The one with the sniper rifle cloaks and disappears from sight. The battle noises around them make him impossible to detect from their current distance. The other simply flexes his own biotics and lets forth a manic laugh before charging their position.
"Whoa!" He yells as he closes in, he barely has time to scoop up Tali and teleport away before the cover is trampled. Looking back he sees the behemoth krogan pull out a tech/biotic-hammer. It is a devastating weapon of krogan design that is not only nearly a weapon of incredible weight and power for biotics, but is also a complicated piece only usable by tech experts. The Behemoth slaps it to his hand a couple of times before charging the position that holds Emil, Sakkara and Bailey.
He barely has time to react once again when he hears the faint in increase of thudding from behind him.
"Jason! Look out!" Tali yells from his arms as he yanks around. He is barely able to toss Tali to the truly safe entranceway of the station as he is struck from the temporarily invisible force of the krogan from earlier. As the krogan slams Jason into a low cover, forcing him to lean back over the cover from his waist as the fierce krogan tries to force an Omni-blade with electricity dancing between its double blades into his throat.
Jason pushes back with his left hand as the krogan forces down his right, his strength along with the assistance of gravity making it nearly impossible to get free. Jason looks up into the faded, nearly white blue eyes of the krogan, then up to the grey plate on his forehed.
"Only one way out…this is gona hurt."
Jason slams his head forward as hard as he can. The strike is painful, but it gets the krogan to release his grip from his right hand. He slashes, but the krogan jumps back releasing him.
Jason watches as he smirks, hopping to the side as he fades from view like a ghost.
"Hehehe! Even if I'll break you I bet you're a tasty little thing!"
Jason whips around, finding the krogan that trampled his cover closing in on Tali, laughing at her as she strikes her shotgun, the gun steaming from overheating.
"Don't you dare touch her!" Jason roars as he uses his biotics to charge, tackling the krogan. He attempts to stab the krogan in the face, finding the krogan staring directly back at him with a wicked grin, his nearly black eyes giving him a demonic countenance as he holds him back.
"Ho ho!" He chortles, "So…the little one is your mate? That makes this infinitely more pleasurable…" The krogan is almost unnaturally strong as he pushes Jason back slightly, "I can have her watch as I experience your taste first, then" his large black tongue reaches from his mouth, the tip touching his helmet before he pulls it back in with a slurp "…as your blood drips from my mouth I will take her as my own until I end her as well."
Jason lets forth a furious yell as he uses his biotics to push farther, nearly hitting the dark eye when he lets forth a manic laugh as he uses his own biotics to push back. Suddenly there is a whine and Jason turns his head, leaping away from the Darkness just as a sniper bolt strikes in the direct path of the laser on his side only moments before.
The Darkness charges him, but is interrupted as Tali, who had apparently maneuvered, behind him jumps onto his back and stabs the krogan in the hump with the dagger she always keeps strapped to her boot. He slings her back and forth like a bull, attempting to shake her free. Jason begins to move to help her when the Ghost comes from nowhere, materializing as he charges into him again.
"Tali!" he growls loudly, he feels his limiters release as he wishes them to and grabs the Ghost, forcing him away. Turning he sees Tali allow herself to be launched into the station again, but this time her landing is sounded by a loud pop as she lets out a pained scream as she lands hard on her shoulder.
A momentary shock is replaced with pure, unadulterated hate. He no longer feels the cooling as he grabs the Ghost's large hand and begins to slam him into the Darkness. The Darkness, Tali's dagger jutting from his hump as the wound leaks orange blood, simply laughs as he slams the Ghost repeatedly into the biotic bubble, the bubble shimmering with every impact. Suddenly Jason is caught in the stomach by something hard and he is flung away from the entrance. He barely has time to turn himself before he hits the ground hard, sliding just before the new cliff edge. Biotics lift his pained form and turn him in mid air.
The Behemoth approaches him, his armor scarred and covered in orange blood as he leaves the Ghost convulsing on the ground as the krogan begins to bleed out and Jason sees the Darkness move within the station.
"No! Tali!" he struggles in vain against the Behemoth's biotic grip as he approaches, hammer drawn and coated in flame, "No! No! Let me go! Don't let that monster near her!"
The Behemoth raises his hammer, preparing to bring it down on his head. Suddenly a soot covered Sakkara appears and slams into the Behemoth, knocking him off balance. Jason drops to the floor and rushes the Behemoth, using his strongest biotic kick into the side of the Behemoths head. The kick only serves to spin the huge to face the edge and drop his hammer, but in one fluid motion he combines a biotic punch with one Sakkara was performing. The force doesn't move the Behemoth much, but it is enough to cause him to lose his balance and topple over the ledge.
Without a word to Sakkara as to why she's covered in soot and what the status of Emil and Bailey he rushes inside. Running through the dim lit corridors at lightning speed, he nearly rips doors away before they can open on their own, dreading what lay in each room. Suddenly there is a boom that echoes loudly through the station as it is rocked. He follows where the noise came from, slamming shoulder first into the door, bending the metal with his biotics before it can open. He whips around to look at the room. The first and foremost thing he notices is the large hole in the wall of the room. Following the light from outside he finds an exhausted looking Tali propped on a defense turret that looks to have been under construction or repair. She looks at him, a thankful look in her amazing eyes that he doesn't deserve as he walks slowly to her, speeding up as he gets closer and passing other turrets in similar conditions as he goes.
Without a word he grabs her in a powerful embrace.
"Owowow!" She yelps and he jerks away remembering her fall onto her shoulder.
"Oh God! I forgot, I was too worried he…and when he wasn't…" he changes the subject, "are you alright, is it broken?!"
"No, just jammed." She reassures, "Hey look!"
He turns, just outside the hole he can see Sovereign begin to fall from its perch on the top of the Citadel Tower, its belly exposed to them.
"She did it!" He says breathlessly as he pulls Tali to him gently from her waist as they continue to watch.
The Arcturus Fleet begin to fire on Sovereign's falling form, the metal being dented inward as most of the shots his the legs and the curvature in his cuttlefish like armor. Suddenly he can see the Normandy fly within view with some fighters forming up behind him as they turn and dive down.
"Get that bosh'tet Joker!" he and Tali yell in unison as a bright and brilliant shot appears as the Normandy maneuvers to just miss the Reaper. Sovereign begins to glow, and in an almost organic way the ship buckles inward like a dying spider momentarily before a large bright red crack forms on it's underbelly just before it explodes.
Jason can hear the cheers of Sakkara and Emil from somewhere below and he can't resist the urge to celebrate himself. He lifts Tali high up by her waist and rotates with her looking down to him. She giggles for a moment before hissing in pain, and he lowers her. She places an arm around the back of his neck, they stare into each other's eyes, conveying with a simple glance what most need words for, all the relief, the elation, and especially the love.
"Wait…look at that!" he hears Emil say loudly from outside.
He and Tali turn, looking back out towards Sovereign's remains they see dust from an impact coming from the Citadel Tower.
"Shepard!" Tali gasps.
CE 2183…1630 hours…August 12...Citadel Tower, the Citadel
Garrus just sat there; hand on the small wound he received from the debris from Sovereign. He couldn't think of anything else to do. Part of him wished this rubble they are trapped under would have crushed him and Wrex as it must have done Samantha, or that his wound was deeper so he could have bled out in the fifteen or so minutes they've been trapped. He felt dead inside, her influence being even stronger than he thought. He should have went to her the night before, a night which now seems like an eternity ago as they sit there with nothing to do but think.
He looks over to find Wrex, the krogan holding himself much the same as he did even though he was more damaged. He seems just as sad as Garrus is, the krogan shaking his head slowly, though it may be a trick of his mind since he had never been adept at reading him. Garrus turns away and begins to stare again at the floor when the rubble just ahead of Wrex begins to move as it is slowly pulled away.
"Captain Anderson! We've found them! They're in here!" a human voice says, but he doesn't bother looking up.
A C-Sec officer forces himself into his view and moves his hand to check his wound, applying a small bit of medi-gel as the Captain approaches Wrex.
"Take it easy…it's over. You're safe now." Anderson says, and strangely enough Wrex has no response. "Where's the Commander?" Anderson asks, and Wrex only lightly shakes his head again before turning in the direction of the garden, where Samantha had been separated from them. The C-Sec officer lifts him to his feet. He spares one glance behind him, only for his heart to feel crushed once again at the sight of the huge dark blue metal debris that littered the garden. Forcing the C-Sec officer to release him he forces his legs to pull him forward, following Anderson as the Captain tries to help a limping Wrex along. Anderson's gaze lands on the rubble behind him, something must catch his eye, as he begins to move to the wreckage. Garrus turns himself, as Wrex shuffles next to him.
Then he sees it, a glimpse of red behind a bit of rubble, then of the tanned skin he knows well. His heart begins racing faster as the figure begins to move closer to them as it traverses the rubble. Suddenly Samantha's head begins to appear over the edge of a large piece of the rubble, and he catches the largest grin on Wrex's face as the krogan turns his head to him and back to Samantha. She is holding her arm, the limb slightly wounded as she stands proudly on the hunk on the defeated Reaper, but as she climbs down and he sees her smile as she approaches them he knows only one thing.
"For now, all is right with the universe."
A/N: Finally, the end of ME1! And now, the crossovers….BEGIN! Anyway I hope that this was at least a partly good read, even if I ripped A LOT of stuff from ME itself. As I said before, and now for the last time, I didn't want to disgrace the first one's writing since I loved it, and it would be pointless to use my own when I have the game right here . Most of what is past this point is unimportant so anyone here that's not feelin it today can ignore it, Now as I put on a chapters back, the disclaimer is here
DISCLAIMER: I own none of the songs mentioned beyond listening to soundcloud, youtube, or any other way people listen to music (as in I don't own the band or song duh) I own none of the Mass Effect characters other than: Jason/Sakkara/Emil/Agaric/Nula/The First and The Second if they must be mentioned/Behemoth, the Ghost and the Darkness (with the last two names being a joke since it is the name of a movie I saw once which I do not own just in case that is neccesary)/Dr. Petrovsky if I really have too and if I forgot any other character that you know is not part of the ME universe that I made up for affect like the turian teen thing then them too if I have to.
There, that was long, but it is done. Now I was checking the old traffic graph and I see that my numbers are damaged by people not reading past chapter one since I did it much like I am doing now, over explaining like a quarian and really just eating peoples time. Admittedly I posted the first couple and sections of the others as "drafts" rather than polished stories, but I just wanted to get the story down before I polished, since I'm not so good with brainstorming outside of the moment (I've changed the ending at least twice and had originally planned for Tali to leave after Skyrim, but now she's staying for the whole crossovers) so in the end, it can't be helped much. I thank you all who make it past one for reading immensely, and hope that you enjoy the rest of my story as I begin throwing in the "new" faces into the ME universe.
