Sorry for the wait guys….. but I think you'll like this chapter. It's a little fluffy but who doesn't love a fluffy Loki? (I just pictured Loki in a really fluffy bath robe, it's a funny image) Also, anyone who hasn't watched Thor 2 yet, really needs to. It's awesome. Okay then, ENJOY!
"This is an audition for people who actually signed up for it; you can't just walk in here…." One of the casting personal told Loki.
Loki held his hand out defensively. "Just give me a chance, please, it's all I ask. Will one extra person really hurt?" he questioned. A girl casting director leaned over to the one telling him to leave. Loki wasn't sure but he thought he heard her whisper something about him being hot.
"You may proceed." The director allowed. Loki smiled and looked down at his script.
Outside, the Avengers and Eli waited anxiously.
"We should have gone in." Tony said nervously. "What's taking him so long?"
"Maybe he failed so bad he slipped out the back way to avoid us." Clint suggested. Eli swatted his arm.
"Why would you say that?!" she scolded. Clint stared in shock at his arm, finding it hard to believe that Eli had just hit him. Most people would be cautious of hitting an Avenger.
"I'm sure he's fine. Loki's great at acting. He loves to turn into other people. He did it all the time when we were younger." Thor told. "There was this one time he shifted into me, and I, as a young lad, got so confused and scared. I thought I had an evil twin!" Thor's booming laughter lightened the mood.
"Loki likes to do impersonations of people. Sometimes when we're in the car he pretends to talk like the radio host or Randy Jackson or something." Eli laughed at the memory. "It's hilarious. Especially when he sings in funny voices."
All the Avengers had to smile at the thought. "He really is an interesting guy isn't he?" Bruce said. "I mean, you'd think a guy who tried to take over New York would be the biggest asshole, and believe me, he has his moments," Bruce was cut off my laughter and words of agreement. "But Loki's a really relatable guy, don't you think?"
Then the doors opened and Loki came out, his facial expression too hard to read without hints.
"Loki!" Eli ran up and hugged him. "How did the Immeninent audition go?" she asked, her voice filled with nervous excitement.
"Uh," Loki nervously chuckled. "I didn't audition for Immeninent." He told.
A chorus of "What!" 's and "He's got to be kidding." 'S rang out.
"What took you so long then?" Tony asked.
"Why didn't you audition?" Eli asked before he could answer Tony.
"Are you stupid or something?" Natasha fired at him.
Loki exhaled. "I auditioned for something else instead." He smiled at the group.
"What?" they asked in unison. Loki smiled teasingly at them.
"Come on! What did you audition for? What?" Bruce exclaimed.
"I auditioned to be the 12th Doctor." He smiled at their dropped jaws.
"As in Doctor Who?" Eli questioned. Loki nodded, and Eli screamed. "Shut Up! You better not be joking! Are you joking? Are you serious right now?! Oh my gosh!" Eli paused for a second, then just screamed, because that seemed to convey her feelings more than words could right now.
"Well," Steve began, besides Thor he was the only one who hadn't heard of Doctor Who, so he didn't exactly understand the extreme excitement of Eli, who was jumping up and down. (Literally) "Um, how'd you do?"
"Good enough that they'd ask for my information." Loki answered. "I smell a callback!" he sing-songed.
"That's amazing! Congratulations brother." Thor told. Loki smile and the commenced in an adorable bro hug. After a moment or two, the two brothers separated and looked to the group, who was mostly watching Eli freak out.
"May I suggest we go home before she faints or stops breathing?" Clint asked, pointing to Eli who was speechless with her hands over her face and possibly hyperventilating.
Loki smirked. He knew that if he got this part, Eli would always be crazy for him, not that he wasn't sure of that before. "Yeah, let's get home; I want to tell my other friends."
The car ride home was mostly silent with everyone's awe, except for a humming noise that Eli was making. Her sanity was questioned frequently during the ride to the apartments.
"How long will it take to get a call back officially?" Bruce asked. Loki shrugged, because he wasn't really wondering if he got one, he was about 99% sure he would.
"Maybe if we called them and said something like, you have a little sister's who's dying wish is to know if you got the part, they'd decide quicker." Clint suggested.
Loki dismissed the idea. "There's no need for elaborate, crazy schemes. Just relax people." He flashed them a cocky smile. "You're looking at the next Doctor." He said. Eli squealed at his words.
"I think you're ego gained like 50 pounds since we saw you last." Natasha told.
"Funny, I could say the same thing about your butt." Loki returned. Natasha glared at him, but Clint received her wrath when he laughed about it.
"There are a lot of candidates though, right?" Steve asked. Loki didn't feel the pressure at all, which was out of character looking back at his previous months. He had gained his mojo back, and it was in full swing.
"None are as good as me. Hell, David Tennant himself could tryout again, and I'd still beat him." Loki assured.
The limo stopped in front of the apartments then. "Well, I hope there's some truth bouncing around in that airhead of yours, and this isn't just all talk. It'd be awesome if you got the part." Tony said.
"Okay, well, goodbye Loki and Eli." Steve said.
"See you later." Thor waved.
"Thanks for coming guys." Loki said.
He smiled at the Avengers before closing the limo door. He took his girlfriend's hand and led her up the stairs to their apartments. Eli stopped him abruptly on the stairs and pushed him against the wall. She stood on her tip toes to give him a kiss. He kissed her back, picking her up so she didn't have to stand on her tip toes. "I love you." He whispered to her. Eli smiled, and told him she loved him back. Loki put her on his back piggyback style and finished climbing up the stairs, but stopped again at the top of the stairwell.
"You know we're an end game right?" Loki said. Eli smiled and didn't reply for a second. They briefly kissed and Loki walked her to her apartment door. They kissed again and as Loki walked away, Eli said.
"Do you remember that first dinner we had together? I know that was KFC chicken." Loki could hear the smile in her voice. Loki turned around to see it.
"If you knew I lied why you let me stick around?" he asked.
"Because I believe in love at first sight."
