Promise Me All Your Tomorrows
She paced around and around in this little square box of a room. Think, Think, Think She had to think. Alice knew her very survival depended on what she decided to do here right now. What did she do about him? What was his game? Why was he telling me to trust him? Every cell inside her was screaming to not trust him. He was one of the guard. A loyal member of the guard. One of the prized trophies of Aro. He was the best tracker in the world. Demetri had told her to just trust him. Did she trust him? She was waiting for the visions to come and they wasn't. She tried to see his decisions and she couldn't. There was none there. She thought it so strange. God! What did she do? She had to get a handle on herself . She had requested a meeting with Aro and soon the guard would be coming for her. She had to relax. She wanted to call Carlisle and ask him what to do since he knew all of the players involved and knew them well. But she knew he was busy with Jasper and Bella. She couldn't bother them. They were in the middle of a crisis. She picked up the book and hugged it tight against her. It contained the answers to their problems. She knew it. No she could feel it. But how was she going to get it out of this castle and home. She had to get Aro to agree to it. Let's just say he was not known to be an agreeable type of person. Gosh what was going to happen? She felt trapped now. Lost and so very alone. She had hurt her family so bad when they thought she had betrayed them. But she was trying to help them truthfully. She had not done anything out of hurt and angry directed at them. Everything she had done she had done it out of love and hope for their futures.
Suddenly she felt her phone ring. She looked down and saw that it was Charlie. Her Charlie, saying that never got old. She swallowed down her fears and answered the phone. "Hiya Charlie how goes the big camping trip. Seen any bears today?" she had to play it cool. She did not want to worry him. There was no reason to worry him. He couldn't be here to hold her hand and help her decide what to do. "Alice are you ok?" he asked you could hear the worry in his voice. She had to take that away. "Charlie, things are fine." she swallowed the fears down hard. " Hey, I maybe coming home soon. Wherever home is. " She laughed nervously. "Really! I don't think I can help you out with that one either. They haven't told me anything. But that is okay. After all I am low vampire on the totem pole. " He said and laughed. Suddenly she was hit with a vision. " Now I heard you are a kick ass vampire. Didn't you pick Emmett up and put him in the trash can and keep him in there with your freaking mind. Charlie Swan!" Gosh he had improved so much. She knew that he was special! "It was nothing really! I was just mad because Emmett was making fun of my favorite animal so far." She sighed. She loved him and his easy ways so very much but she didn't want to scare him. How he didn't run for the hills when Emmett belted out that Charlie's destiny was a hillbilly wedding was beyond her. As if she would have anything to do with a hillbilly wedding. Humph. "Now Charlie! There is nothing wrong with it being a buffalo." She said with a smile. She knew that Emmett had a field day with that one. God! Love Charlie he was true to his roots! "Well not everyone can love Grizzly…" Charlie sounded down. She was hit with the Christmas vision again. She could see everyone around the tree in an old looking room. Everyone was there. She smiled as she saw everyone around the tree. Wait a minute did she see red eyes around that tree! Yes she did! She started jumping up and down when she saw it again in her mind. There sit Demetri around the tree with them. She knew now what she had to do. "Thank you Charlie!" she said suddenly in the middle of his talking about Grizzlies and Emmett. "What for Alice?" He asked very suspiciously. "For you being you." She longed to say the love of my life. But she knew that it would be too much for him that was a conversation for another day. He had helped her though more than he knew because talking to him had relaxed her mind. She heard a knock at the door. "Right back at you Miss Alice." She smiled. "Charlie I need to go. I am sorry. But I promise to call you again soon." She stopped. "Alice be careful." He always makes me smile. "I will I promise." With that she closed the phone and kissed it briefly. Charlie always put a smile on her face. She reached and opened the door.
There stood Demetri. He looked at her knowingly and she nodded slightly at him. She was letting him know that she trusted him and to go on with the plan. "Aro will see us now." he said. She swallowed. "Let me get the book." She grabbed the book again and tried to steady her nerves. Was she really going to ask Aro to let her take this priceless book out of this spooky old mausoleum? Was she going to trust one of Aro's guard to help her? Why yes! Yes! She was. Demetri wrapped his arm in Alice's and patted her hand. As trying to tell her he was a friend. "Let's go."
They walked up the steps and down the hallways. Going a long winding corridors getting closer to the chamber and possibly her fate. She was grateful for the time to steady her nerves and the chance to put on her poker face. When they got there. Demetri stopped give her one last look and knocked on the door. "Come in my children." Aro said. They walked halfway into the room. Demetri took the book once they went inside. Alice wanted to hold onto it. She didn't want to let it go. She looked into Demetri's eyes and they pleaded with her to trust him. She smiled back at him as she handed him the book. Demetri encouraged her to go further into the room. Aro turned away from the roaring fire of the fireplace. "Alice, Demetri tells me that you found something that interested you both today. Is that true?" She glanced at Demetri. "Why yes we did!" Aro smiled a knowing smile. What had Demetri told him? "I told you that he would be of great assistance to you." Had the rat told him that he had found the book? "Yes he was a huge help. I couldn't have done it without him." "May I see the book?" Aro asked and outstretched his hand. Like we were going to say no. Demetri walked the book to Aro. He started to flip through the book. "I see." he said and grinned. "I see why you thought this would be of importance. We got this book when we destroyed a rather bothersome group in Egypt centuries ago. The leader told us that they had got this from a witch they destroyed centuries before. We did not know this language and wanted a translation but was unable to locate one. The leader was of no help to us unfortunately. Do you know what it says Alice?" Aro stopped looking at the book and looked at me with those blood red eyes. "No sir but I thought if I could take the book or make copies of it and take it to Carlisle to look at it. Maybe he could figure it out. He is very good at that kind of thing." Aro started to pace. "Yes Carlisle is very good at puzzles. I remember. So which would you prefer to do copies or the real thing?" Aro asked hastily I watched as Demetri moved closer to Aro. "The real thing would be best I think sir." Demetri said. "Why?" Aro asked. "because the imagines in color changes the book somehow. Don't you think sir? " He studied the book. "Hum… maybe. I see where you are coming from. But I don't know. I don't know if I can let such a priceless treasure of the volterri go without my bothers being here to sign off on the idea. It is a shame they couldn't be here but they both got called out on other things, " Demetri moved even closer to Aro. Was he putting himself between Aro and her. In away it was like she wasn't part of the conversation, Aro attention was on the book and Demetri. "May I make a suggestion?" Demetri asked. Aro finally looked up from the book. "Certainly' I could not help but feel that this was either a setup or Demetri was putting himself on the line. "What would you suggest Demetri?"
"What if a member of the guard accompanied the book and Alice to Carlisle. And they would remain with book until Carlisle has analyzed it." Ok I could see where he was going. "Possibly but who Demetri. You know where the bulk of the ranking guard is. Who would go then?" Aro studied the book again. "What about me sir? I have been with Alice from the beginning. I found the book. I would like to see where this leads." Aro arched his eyebrows at Demetri "You are not fooling me Demetri." Oh no was this fixing to fall all apart. "You would like a chance to met one God of War." he said with a knowing smirk. "I will not lie sir. Yes I would like to met Jasper. But you know I have been a trusted member of the guard of Volteri for centuries. I would protect treasures of the Volteri at all cost." Aro paced again. "I don't know. What do you think Alice?" Aro asked staring a hole through me. I stepped forward to where Demetri was. I wanted Aro to think of us as a team. "I think Carlisle looking at the book is worth a try and Demetri along is an excellent idea." Aro studied the book one more time then closed the book. "Okay you may accompany the book to Carlisle. We will make arrangements." Now was my turn to turn this my way. "Sir Carlisle sent a plane to come get me. May we go home on that one?" Aro handed Demetri the book then looked at me. "I really hope you get your answers Alice and remember you are welcomed here at anytime my dear." With that we left Aro and went to pack up. Then the strange beautiful book, Demetri and me left the creepy castle. Demetri and me had barely spoken in Volteri. It felt like I was holding my breath. I waited until we were in Carlisle's plane and in the air before I looked Demetri and said "Okay what the hell?"
Bella's POV
I felt like I was going to be sick. Sara Elizabeth had took me to Jasper's past. This Jasper was not my Jasper. I looked at her with compassion now. All that she has seen. She stayed with him through it all. I had just a taste of it. No, this was not our Jasper. I grabbed her hand. This was Maria's Jasper. I did not know this one he was wise but so full of loath and hate. Bella you need to see something else. I touched her hand and we were off again. We looked like we were at Jasper's home in Whitlock but the furniture was different. There in the middle of the room was a Christmas tree. I watched as a blonde headed little boy ran down the stairs. Was that Jasper? Why was I here? Then I watched as the 2 little kids gathered around the tree got to fighting and shoving each other. A woman came into the room and separated the kids. She spoke in a Irish accent. "Hey now. Stop that Jasper Whitlock be nice to your sister. Or Santa will take these presents back. What is wrong with you? How many times do I need to tell you violence solves nothing? Come here a second." She pulled a 5 year old Jasper in her lap. "Give me your hands." She placed his hands onto of hers and they played the piano. I looked at Sara Elizabeth and grabbed my necklace. "Yes this is Jasper's favorite memory of his mother. Of them playing piano. It was how I reached him Bella talking to him about his mother and music. He loved it so. He was quite talented." I looked at her did she really get through to the God of War with Music. Was that why I was here to see what he become and see this scene so I would know how to reach him in the future? Sara took my hand again. "Yes and no. We still have one more stop."
Jasper POV
"Fuck me walking!" I screamed what happened to her eyes.
Carlisle grabbed my arm, "Be silent Jasper. Any sudden movement or loud noise might scare her."
I took a deep breath and tried to steady myself. She was looking all around the room. But like she was curious about things. Those deep ice blue eyes. They were haunting. I finally heard Carlisle speak to her.
"Bella?" he said softly he reached to see if she would let him touch her. She jerked back like she had been hurt. "It's okay Bella. We are here to help you."
She looked at us and turned her head side to side. Then she spoke," I am not Bella." Her voice sounded almost musical. In a strange way it was soothing.
"Did she change Carlisle?" I was confused. I could still hear her heart and see the pink in her cheeks. If this isn't Bella then who was she? And where was Bella?
"I do not know son. I have never seen someone change and awaken with blue eyes. Plus her heart's still beating." Carlisle tried to approach her again. "If you are not Bella may I ask who you are?"
"It's not important." She shifted in bed and started moving her hands in circles like she was trying to see how things moved.
I spoke up, "Where is she? Where is Bella?"
She turned and looked at me before she spoke, "She is on a journey Jasper." Okay how did she know my name? What kind of journey? Was she alone? God so many thoughts rushing though my head.
She grabbed her head like she was in pain. "Jasper stop." She pleaded.
What was I doing? I stepped back. How was I hurting her? I took a deep breath and tried to relax. She seemed to relax. Okay keep it together Whitlock. Carlisle looked at me then spoke softly. "Is Bella Ok?"
She looked insulted now, "No hair on her head has been harmed. And I am here to keep it that way."
Now I wondered if Bella would come back to me. I hung my head slightly. She must have picked up on that because she placed her hand on mine and smiled, "She will come back to you." She hung her feet off the side of the bed and wiggled her ankles. Then stood up. She stumbled a bit but quickly straightened up.
Carlisle asked to examine her she quickly but politely shot him down. "I am fine I promise. Now Jasper you and me need to go for a walk. There is a lot to discuss and I am not sure how long I have with you." With that she was up and out the front door. Okay what does this blue eyed creature want to discuss with me. I followed behind her. This should be good.
An Author Note: I do not own Twilight. I just like to play inside their world when they let me. I hope that you liked this story. Alice was screaming at me jumping up and down yelling me, me, me. So she got a huge hunk of the chapter. Okay who do you think the blue eyed woman is and where is Bella going next. Leave me some love please. Much love till later. Dena
