Quick announcement before delving into this next installment. Things right now on SOA are very dark and heavy. They have been for awhile. I know I have other stories lined up but I'm thinking of either adapting the Tig/daughter/Jax story or coming up with a completely new story that's going to be focused on Jax (of course) and an OC (of course). But, it's going to be a light love story full of fun and romance. I think we all could use something light and fun to counter all of the darkness that's going on in the show. Let me know what you think. :) Also, I hope to get some requests for one shots done. I have all the submissions saved so hopefully I can knock those out. :)

Corrie walked through the door and sat heavily on the couch. She hadn't heard from Jax in hours. She just wanted to wrap her arms around him because she knew that he was hurting from the death of his best-friend's father. Piney had been JT's best-friend; he kept Jax grounded and reminded him of what JT wanted, not only for the club but for Jax as well. Now, that sounding-board was dead. Corrie shook her head as more tears fell down her face. She was on her feet and into the entryway the second she heard Jax's motorcycle pull into the driveway. He pushed his way inside and gave her a lopsided smile as he shut the door. He leaned back against it and looked at her. He attempted to give her a watery smile but faltered. Every defense he'd put up since hearing that Piney was dead came crumbling down in her presence. He knew he didn't have to be strong for her.

"Oh, baby," she whispered as his lips quivered and he took a deep breath. She pulled him away from the door, wrapping a hand around the back of his head and guiding it to her shoulder. She wrapped her other arm around his back as sobs wracked his body. She rocked him slowly and whispered encouragement to him that it was okay, she was there for him. She silently thanked Thomas again for taking Abel overnight.

Jax had no idea how long they stood in the entryway. He didn't care, really. He was just grateful for the woman in his arms. He was grateful that he didn't have to be Jax Teller, SAMCRO Vice President with her. He could be Jax Teller, just a man with the same emotions as everybody else.

"What happens now?" She asked once they were both cried out.

"We take a shower." He said, sniffing.

She smiled at him. "Okay. But I was talking about with this whole situation."

"We find who killed Piney and we make them pay." He said as pure rage flashed in his eyes. "We torture them for hours until they beg for death."

"It was Clay!" Corrie blurted out, her hand immediately covering her mouth. She turned from Jax and ran into the bathroom, emptying her stomach contents into the toilet.

"What are you talking about?" Jax asked quietly from the doorway after Corrie had rinsed her mouth.

"I shouldn't...I don't know where that came from." She said quietly, looking at the floor.

"That's a bunch of bullshit and you know it." Jax said, his anger flashing to the surface. "What's going on, Corrie?"

"Nothing! I shouldn't have said anything. It's just an emotionally charged day." She shook her head.

"Yeah, it has been." Jax nodded. He turned the shower on and set the temperature. "But this isn't over, babe. If you don't tell me tonight, you're going to tell me first thing in the morning."

"Jax..." she started but he held up his hand to silence her.

"I want to know why you said it was Clay. But I'm not going to push you tonight." He said gently. He quickly got undressed and got in the shower, Corrie quickly following suit. They took turns letting the warm water wash over their heads and faces, cleaning away the salt from their tears. Jax wrapped his arms around Corrie and pulled her back against his chest before kissing her head.

"I was going to tell your mother about Piney." She said, taking a shaky breath. "The door to the office was open a little bit and she was talking to Unser. She said Piney had something on Clay. I guess Clay called her last night and said that he was going to sleep at Clubhouse but your mom was there. She knew he was lying."

"Shit." Jax huffed. He brought his hands to his face, his fingers steepled over his mouth, and blew out a breath.

"Your mom...she went up to the cabin this morning." Corrie said, not turning around to look at him.

"What do you mean she went up to the cabin this morning?" Jax ground out.

"She went to check on Piney this morning and found him. She called Unser to clean up the scene and then she called me." Corrie said.

"She called you to check on him when she knew he was dead." Jax shook his head.

"She said it was better this way. It keeps everybody safe." Corrie said.

"Jesus Christ." Jax huffed.

"I'm sorry, Jax." Corrie said turning to face him. "I shouldn't have told you. Not like that."

Jax took her face firmly in his hands. "Don't!"

"I should have waited...I should have-"

"No!" He was practically shouting at her. "I am so tired of secrets, do you hear me? We can't have secrets from each other."

"Jax, I would have told you but I should have waited a day or two." She replied.

"Don't ever apologize for telling me the truth!" He crushed her against his chest, tucking her head under his chin, his hand in her hair. He kissed the top of her head. "Never." He said.

Opie sat numbly on the dining room chair, staring at the spot where his dad's body had fallen. He couldn't comprehend that his father was dead. After the pain and horror of losing Donna, his brain and heart weren't prepared for this latest blow to his family. Slowly, he moved to sit in the place where his dad had lain. Tears fell from his eyes for an interminable amount of time. He'd just wiped his eyes, getting ready to stand up and leave when something caught his eye. It was the light glinting off something under the couch. He reached out and grabbed whatever it was in his big hand. Slowly, he opened his palm to inspect the item. A gold reaper pin stared up at him.

SAMCRO! SAM-FUCKING-CRO! His mind screamed. Not only had Clay and Tig been responsible for Donna's death but now one of his so-called brothers had killed his father.
