Jacob's POV:

Paisley Cane was knelt on the hard ground before the lifeless body of her father. Her clothes were torn and covered in dirt and unsettled dust. Her usually smooth locks were all tangled and tears were streaming down her face, dripping off her chin and hitting her blood covered hands. Brady turned to her and he insisted that he help her clean up, she was covered in so much of her father's blood it looked as if he had been torn in two, but only one wound, one deep and fatal wound, caused all this blood. I wouldn't be surprised if the vampires on the surface could smell it.

Paisley tried to stand but her grief took over and she collapsed into Brady's muscular arms, holding him close to her. He cared not that she was covered in blood, he held the girl I knew he had come to love, close to him in her time of need. He was crying too, whether for the death of Brendan or out of Paisley's pain, I was not sure. I was on my feet now, I could feel my face aching as I tried to keep it straight, to remain a strong leader and not one who would break down, despite how much I urged to. There would be time to mourn for our losses later, for the time being there were still lives in danger.

"I can't hold them here forever, Jacob." Sebastian's voice broke the silence and I spun, he was still stood, staring angrily at the three bodies before him. Edward, Bella and Alice. In that order. All three as still as a statue, their faces pulled into shocked expressions. Their eyes not even being able to move. I nodded to him.

"You won't have to, Sebastian, not until we locate Chelsea; we will return her here before we end her. We'll force her to return the effect she's had on them. Force her to bring back their love for us and destroy her loyalty to Jane and the Volturi. You just have to hold them a little longer, can you do that?" I asked and I nodded and patted his shoulder as I turned back to the others, but then my eyes caught the door that Jane had gone through with my Nessie. I felt a pull to go through there.

I was about to speak when Rosalie turned, saw what I was looking at and squeezed my hand. Comforting as that touch was I knew I would not be able to hold that comfort forever.

"Rose-" I begun but she turned completely away from me. Cutting off my goodbye.

"Jacob and I are going after Renesmee."

"No-" I interrupted and she lifted her hand to silence me. "You all must stay here, let no other guards that enter pass through those doors, we'll have enough on our hands with Jane, Alec and Chelsea." Rosalie said, Emmett was the first to protest, he went to grab Rosalie but instead she grabbed him, she pulled him close to her and she cut off his refusals to let her go with a harsh kiss, her fingers ran through his naturally curly hair, his giant muscular arms held her slender frame up to his chest and the two clenched each other so thigh their fingers almost tore the others clothes. But Rosalie pulled her way free, held his cheek in her hand before she turned to me.

"Let's go." she said, her voice breaking at the end.

"Rosalie, I can't risk you getting hurt up there. We're not one hundred percent on Jane's new abilities. I don't want to have to keep watching to make sure you're not-"

"Shut up," she said, taking my arm and we turned towards the door, I smiled at her and she grinned back at me. We took a step before Sebastian called out and we all spun just in time to watch Bella who was, for an unknown reason, on her feet. She spun, grabbed his arm, ducked under his other and while spinning like a pissed off ballerina, she tore his arm off, and came back around, hitting him in the back of his head with his own arm. He felt across the room, unable to keep his balance he crashed into the wall.

Bella gave a half-grin to us before flying off through the doors in pursuit of her most precious master. How did she get out? I pondered for a second before realizing that Sebastian's gift doesn't parlays the body in that way, his gift stops the mind from sending those links to the body, his power affects the mind, which then affects the body. His power didn't affect Bella's shielded mind which meant she was only pretending to stop us from stopping her.

"Rose" I yelled and Rosalie nodded and we ran. I phased, tearing the cloak I wore and my paws hit the ground. We charged after Bella. It was hard to run around these halls as a giant wolf, ducking under arches and rafters, slamming into things when I was squashed but it didn't matter. We were catching up to her, and eventually we did. She had just ran up a staircase, the staircase went up and around a very tall tower, in a square kind of shape, the steps were white marble, the windows showing the dull grey of early morning. Bella was laughing, Bella's laugh was so much like her original, but even now I could still hear the violent, torturous nature behind that laugh.

Bella was about six floors up, we were right on her tail. Eventually I crashed into the back of Bella, who clearly was shocked by this and she hit the ground. Bella growled at me, her nails stabbing into my side as I tried to pin her down but the pain was too much, my pain gave her an advantage and I tumbled down a few steps. Rosalie flew over my tumbling body and when I stopped I saw her and Bella fighting. Rose threw her pointed nails in the direction of Bella's head, but Bella arched her back low, it reminded me of Neo from the Matrix.

She came back up so quick even I couldn't see it, she spun behind Rose, grabbed her ankle and with one hand flipped Rosalie over the marble railing and I watched in horror as Rosalie fell all six floors, her arms flaying and her legs having nowhere to go. But Rosalie put her legs before her and she crashed into the bottom of the staircase, her feet destroying all marble around her until she knelt angrily in a crater of marble stone. I heard her ferocious growl before she lunged into the air, kicking off railings, flipping herself up until she got close to us again. Bella took me by surprise and flew me actually up the stairs. She barged me into a stone archway at the top which led to a long hall, at the end two double wooden doors were closed and bolted. Jane's chambers, and Nessie's scent was emanating strongly from within there.

Bella pushed me away from her and ran; she went to yell, to warn Jane. Bella Cullen was alive. My Bella was here. She could be rescued. But right now her intentions were to kill those she loved and bow to the Volturi, my Bella was here but she was deep down, locked behind this imposter wearing her face. The imposter couldn't die, because Bella would die. But this imposter could be severely injured, disabled even if it meant I would save my Renesmee. I jumped, clamped my jaw around Bella's waste. She cried out almost in shock that I had dared to hurt her, rather than out of pain. I felt my fangs, breaking through her stone like skin. She tried to pry my mouth open but was unsuccessful so she tried to gouge out my eyes. So I threw her away.

The next thing I knew Bella had left me as was charging at the double doors. She broke through them like they were nothing and I ran in after her. The room was tall, wide and circular. The furniture was broken, the wall length window shattered, the billowing scarlet curtains obscured our view of the battle that still raged on outside. Alec and Chelsea who stood close together gasped, Jane spun and held Renesmee, who appeared to be waking up, close to her. Renesmee's eyes flickered for a second before they found my own.

"Jake?" She whispered tiredly.

"Run, my Queen!" Bella yelled but Rosalie was there then. She shot through, lifted Bella and threw her into Alec and Chelsea, all three tumbling to the ground beside the bed. Jane turned and got one step before I crashed into her and Renesmee, we broke the wardrobe, and a piece of wood impaled in my side but that didn't matter. I'd take the pain of being stabbed over and over again it meant I could save Nessie. Jane cried out and swung her hand through the air. She didn't hit me, she was too far away yet an invisible force seemed to act as her blow. It hit me so hard and was such a surprise that I lost my balance. But I did not hit the floor, I was lifted into the air before being thrown up into the corner of the room, my howl for help cut off as my head slammed against the column.

"Jacob!" Renesmee cried my name. But I couldn't see her. It was hard to see anything cesspit the rush of air my body hit the ground. I refused to stay down. So I turned towards Jane. She had thrown Renesmee across the room, Renesmee hit the bed and rolled straight of it and her head bounced off the tiles. I urged to go for her but she would heal; Jane couldn't live.

Rosalie was fighting Bella, Alec and Chelsea. She couldn't last much longer like that but it appeared she wouldn't need to. There was yelling, familiar voices yelling our names then footsteps approaching. I couldn't help but grin, they were on their way to help. My friends and family from the hall were running down the hall. I watched Rosalie take Chelsea by the throat. Her eyes were panicked and she looked for Alec but Rose had thrown her, Chelsea flew out of the doors and into the hall. She hit the wall.

"Get her to turn Edward and Alice back! Now!" Rosalie called to the others who were on their way. But Alec, out of anger took Rosalie and started to hit her, his fist slamming back and forth upon her face but she ducked and did the same action to him. Bella tried to swing but Rose used him as a shield.

"Jacob?" It was Paisley's voice. She called for me and I was about to howl to let them know but Jane swung her hands and the giant wooden doors slammed shut just as they came into view. I watched as Jane concentrated on the door and then there was the sound of yelling, pounding and anger from the other side. My friends were trying to get in but Jane had done something, the door could not be broken.

I watched Alec then break free and watch the door. There were yells, and screams and calls of anger, then one high scream that was Chelsea's and a crack of vampire skin. Alec looked shocked for a moment before he took a step away from the fighting Bella and Rosalie, from Jane who stood before me and he ran and kicked off out of the window and into the distance. Jane, her mouth open in shock, shot to the window and looked out.

"Coward!" she yelled as the heavy rain still hit her face and the town. She turned back to me then, growling angrily. She yanked at her hair, letting her golden locks tumble down her back. Jane then walked towards me. I wanted to lunge, to sink my teeth into her throat but her hand came up towards me and I could not attack, because something was happening. Then I hit the ground again, as a naked human boy. How could she do this? Make me stop phasing? I knelt low, covered myself and then I felt it. The sharp pain in my side and I looked down, impaled in my lower stomach was a broken piece of jagged wood from the wardrobe we had crashed into. I knew the wound was bad but the piece of wood was the size and witch of my arm, and was sticking deep within me, I could feel the tearing of my muscles around it. I lifted my bloody hands and clenched them into fists before Jane.

She looked at me like I was a fly on her wall, a little nothing that had no place in her life, something to be squatted and killed.

"You will die; Jacob Black and I will win."

I looked up into those deep but bright eyes that stared into my soul.

"Want to bet?" I asked before yanking the piece of wood from me, gritting my teeth as I did so and I stood up. She scoffed at me.

"You...are wasting my time, child," she turned. "Kill him." she addressed Bella. Bella turned and kicked Rosalie across the room; she flew into the bathroom and crashed into something in there. Bella moved a little behind me, the sound of her boots gave her spot away so almost reflexively my arm spun, and I threw my elbow as fast and as hard as I could into her before she had even took a step. She flew back and hit the wall. Rosalie flew out of the bathroom, and grabbed Bella, giving me a chance to go for Jane who went for Renesmee. Jane saw me and I could tell she was angry.

"No!" Jane yelled then, her mouth seemed to stretch and a thousand demonic voices all roared the word at the same time. She flew into me, sending us both crashing to the floor, Jane tried to attack from here, her strong fingers tried to close around my neck as I groaned angrily, trying to pry her hands away. I felt her heavy body on me, trying to hold me down as she fought. I quickly brought my knee up, hitting her stomach though the impact sent a stinging pain into my knee. In this form I was strong but not strong enough.

I rolled over, crawling on her and hitting her with my fists; I could actually hear the sound my knuckles made as one of them cracked with the effort of hitting her hard face. She growled and pushed me with on hand, sending me flying backwards. I felt my head slam against the floor, already my eye sight was blurry, but still I crawled to my feet, hurrying forward quickly for her but I felt a strong physical force lift my body high into the air.

I flew across the room, everything disappearing in an incomprehensible blur. I crashed against her mirror. I blinked and lifted my head; I saw the shattered glass of a vase around me, glass shards sticking out of my hands which stung with the pain. I pulled the shards out quickly.

I had to carry on.

I saw it coming, but it caught me off guard before I had time to react. I felt a hard fist make contact with my stomach, sending ripples of pain through me like I had been hit by a train. I felt my insides ache with the force of the hit by not just Jane but the strength of her new powers; my diaphragm collapse under the force the fist packed behind it. I groaned as her continuous hits sent me arching into the air.

Her heavy hand came down quick and fast but I was beside a wooden table, so I grabbed the table, I kicked upwards, knocking the wooden table down over me and her fingers piecing the wood like blades, sent splinters everywhere. I kicked the table up and flew forward. I grabbed the edge of the table, swinging it and also swinging Jane. She flew back into a large tall, bookcase. The ceiling high book case toppled over, crashing on Jane. But she was on her feet again.

She struck me in the cheek and I flew, all the way over Rosalie and Bella and hit Jane's bed, I rolled on it for a moment. Her thin, scarlet sheets covered my naked body. She then lifted her hand and tugged at the air between us, I felt my feet being dragged by an invisible force and I clenched the blanket but it was no use. I was thrown back before her in the middle of the room, her blanket covering me. The blood from my healing would was still pouring out, blending in with the red of her sheet. My bones were broken, my body was cut, my face was bruised and I still had to kill her.

Rosalie, who had managed to injure Bella, ran at Jane.

Jane then held her hands out and the flames of the candles went to meet her hands, moving up her body. She turned on the spot and the flames shot out and hit the floor and started a continuous stream of fire around the two of us. Rosalie almost ran into certain death and she jumped back, contemplated her next move but Bella had taken her down again.

The fire surrounding us blazed out higher, the flames on the candles grew high and darker, until they were a dark red, changing the setting of the room. Jane lifted her head and stared at me and then it went silent all for one sound. Whispers. Thousands of whispers around the room at the same time, very quiet but I could hear them. Hear the thunder. Or something?

I heard the rumbling; I looked up to see out of the window into the sky, where I could see a dark shape forming a cloud. This wasn't like the storm cloud that was out there before, this cloud was darker. This cloud of dark black smoke was growing and as it grew it turned, twisted and increased in speed. I held my hand over my eyes, trying to see properly. In the cloud lightning seemed to flash. This was Jane's doing.

Her hand came to grab me but I twisted her wrist with two hands, spinning her in the air. I swung back around and gave her a fast and powerful kick in the ribs, she howled in torment but still raced towards me. A sudden feeling came over me, similar to the one I had felt the moment I saw Renesmee. That love, that eternal love, eternal strength. She held me here; she kept me who I was. She kept me as the person I was meant to be. She really was my life; the only way I could make it was if she did too. I smiled and unwillingly gave in to the inner hatred that burst from me.

Jane turned, grunted and swung her hand. A ball of fire shot at me.

She was quick but I was quicker. I managed to phase again, breaking out of her bind and I ducked under the flames, jabbing a blow to the back of the neck with my paw as I ran. She screamed then, I turned back to swing. This was going surprisingly well for me, well, because I wasn't dead yet.

"Stand back, ignorant child!" she roared, throwing her hands at me, I flew back into the wall, my spine arched as I hit it harshly.

The rapping raced through the walls; the ceiling cracked. The cracked stone shook under us, a dark fiery glow emanating from between the cracks. Parts of the roof started to cave in on the edge of the room as Jane and I fought. She was doing this, whatever was happening with her and her powers; it was dangerous for us all; including Jane. She looked around at the tower, she wasn't doing this purposely. Her powers were doing this beyond her control.

The darkness was circling the clock tower, shaking the windows, shredding the curtains, making the fire and candles blaze up, spiralling books and papers and broken furniture up into a funnel of dark wind and rage. I had to get to Renesmee out of here, but I had to kill Jane first. She turned back to me then, her hand came out and the piece of wood I had pulled from my stomach earlier shot up into her hand. She lifted it high before whipping me across the face with it; my eye seemed to be swelling instantly, making it harder to see. The wood cut down my cheek, spilling more of my blood. My legs and paws were weak, but I had to go on. Her hand came out and more flames shot towards me.

This time I wasn't as quick as I needed to be.

The flames ran down my side, setting my russet fur alight, I managed to put it out, but my flesh was still searing as if boiling water was being poured on me. I turned back to Jane and was met by a fist, which broke my jaw just a little bit more, while snapping out a few fangs. I hit the ground with a thump, my breath rattling.

Get up. A voice was muttering to me in my head, I said get up and kill the bitch. It was my voice. Renesmee is in danger, will you look at her? From the spot on the ground I could see Renesmee, holding onto the remains of the broken bed as she tried to her to her feet. She was bruised, and bleeding, her forehead cut open, her clothes torn, she was filthy and hurt and she looked at me while crying my name but her voice was gone. I couldn't hear her, couldn't hear the thunder, and couldn't hear Bella and Rosalie, snapping at each other still, couldn't hear my friends yelling outside, trying to find another way in. Couldn't even hear Jane's laughter as the life was slipping from me.

She's going to die, Jacob. If you don't man up and kill that blonde haired brat, she will die. You will die. Rosalie will die and everyone you love will die. You can't let that happen.

No. I can't let that happen...

Then get up!

I pulled my paw up and used it to help me stand, my body shaking, vibrating as I tried to fight through the pain just to stand tall. Jane growled at me.

"You won't give up, will you dog."

I walked forward and lunged again. Jane and I met in the air, instantly her nails tore through my fur and through my skin. My fangs sank into her shoulder, but the pain was too much that I had no strength to try tear it off. I could do nothing until we hit the ground rolling, then she slammed her foot into my side. I rolled again and caught a glimpse of Rosalie and Bella.

Rosalie hit the ground, Bella stood before her and Bella was holding one of Rosalie's arms in her own.

NO! Rosalie! Bella took Rosalie's head in her own, stared down at her sister and twisted...

She could not end the life of Rosalie, as Renesmee who was been climbing upon the bed, threw her tiny body into the air, kicked off the arched ceiling and landed on the back of her mother. Renesmee clawed at Bella's throat, her tiny hands slamming upon her mother's head, yanking on her chocolate locks and screaming for her to leave her auntie Rose alone. Bella was swearing Nessie's name and trying to throw her off, but Renesmee was quick. Rosalie lay on the ground, staring at me with panicked eyes, her head still attached but cracked severely. I could still see the edges of the cracks sealing up though, in time, hopefully not long. She would live. I pay no attention to Jane, and apparently she pay no attention to me, we both stopped for a second to watch the scene before us, the fight between child and adult, between mother and daughter.

I tried to move to Renesmee, tried to fight my way past the circle of flames but they were too high to jump over, well for an injured wolf like myself, but Renesmee was in danger. Bella wasn't Nessie's mother anymore, who knows how far she would go to protect Jane. Would she kill Renesmee? I didn't want to take that risk but then Bella managed to grab Renesmee's hand and throw her across the room. She landed close to me but outside the circle of flames and each time I approached the circle, the flames grew higher and hotter.

Bella ignored Rosalie who she presumed was dead. Bella approached the circle of flames but for her, the flames partnered and she stood next to Jane. I had been a good match for the two of them, Rosalie and I had. But they stood before me, only a few cracks, only looking a bit scruffy. Both staring at me. Jane with hatred in her eyes, and Bella with a sadistic amusement at my pain. I growled, but even a simple action as this hurt. Bella and Jane circled me, I tried to keep my back safe, but I was unable to do so. Bella ran forward and slid her arms under my own, and she was trying to squeeze. I rolled over, taking her with me. If Bella crushed my spine, or broke the entire right side of my body, I'd be a goner. I had that pain before with the newborn when Victoria attacked, I couldn't have that pain again. I would not make it.

I snapped and clamped down hard on Bella's hand, but Jane's grip snapped the bone in my paw as she pulled me away from her. Jane held me down on the floor, her foot pressing into my throat. Her hands on my head, squeezing and I howled for Renesmee.

"That hurt." Bella yelled at me but then in a flash of a second Bella was gone. I watched her on the outside of the circle, tackled to the ground by Renesmee who put both of her hands on her mother's face and the anger on Bella's face faded. I knew she was distracting Bella by forcing her see all her old memories with her.

Jane dropped me and walked a few steps ahead of me.

"You really are a pain, child." Jane said, "I need you, that is true but there are always other ways to make hybrids...I think it's about time I ended your pathetic life once and for all." Jane took a step but not before I felt the connection Renesmee and I held suddenly writhe with power. I felt my connection to her, the power it held, power myself. I felt the pain vanish, I felt the burning disappear. I felt only strength and strength was exactly what I needed to kill Jane.

Jane swung for Renesmee, but I had already thrown myself up. Jane spun, staring at me as I took my place before her, standing tall, standing powerful and standing ready to end her life.

And end her life I did.

Jane went to snarl at me, to flee. But it took me less than a second to hold her to the ground with my paws, take her head in my mouth, my teeth to clench through her throat and then her head bounced away from her body.

The moment Jane lost her life was the moment her dark, powerful magic came to a halt and disappeared into nothing. The raging thunder outside seemed to part, revealing the early glow of morning, the fire surrounding us turned into only smoke that travelled through the air, leaving behind a burnt ashy circle. The spell on the door vanished so quickly that the door instantly shattered into giant splinters of wood and our friends all came flooding in, yelling but it went silent. Rosalie reattached her arm and was now healed fully, was slowly rising to her feet. Renesmee, who had dropped her hands from her seemingly confused mother, looked around, crying.

In the group of friends stood everyone from the hall, including Edward and Alice. They still wore the dark clothes, still had the evil look altogether, but their eyes, still red, held no anger but only sadness as they saw the scene before them, and something told me the sadness was not for the loss of their Queen. Edward and Alice were back.

Renesmee looked at me and I at her, the connection between us was strong now, as clear to us both as if we were bound by invisible ropes. Ropes that had been tearing for a long time but in the moment we thought we had lost each other tightened and became not ropes, but chains.

She's alive, Renesmee is alive. Injured but wounds heal. She's alive. The majority of us are. We're here. We're safe.

"What's happening to her body?" Rosalie asked and we all turned to watch Jane. Her head and her body were shaking. A glow emitted from her open mouth, her eyes, from her ears and even the broken part of her throat. It came from beneath her skin, on the head and the body. We all watched for just a second before the light got brighter and with multiple cracks, the light exploded her body. The light flew outwards, as if a physical thing and it hit us all. I saw the largest fraction of light hit Renesmee and she hit the ground, then Bella and then it hit me. I felt it wash over me, as if stinging my skin as it did so, the others all covered themselves but we were all covered with light for a second before it begun raining ash.

Jane's body was no more.

I looked at the others, and phased. I hit the ground and held the sheet which was still on the floor, around me. I looked at the others. Nessie hurried to me and she collapsed onto my lap and I clenched her close. Her warm skin felt still so soft and gentle against my own, her hair in my face, our sobs both echoing down the hall. I had her back, my Renesmee. Here. Safe. Things would only look up for us now.

Well, it would have done if it weren't for Bella. Who not a second later got to her feet, shot around the room in a blur until she stood behind me, held my head in her hands and bit my throat, poisoning me with her fatal venom.

FanWriter's Note: Hey guys! this is not the final chapter but the final chapter will be up soon, then maybe I will include an epilogue after. I hope you enjoyed the last fighting chapter there is in this story, the end of Jane. How she died. But there are still a lot of things unanswered, where did Alec go? Who survived the battle outside? Why did Jane's body burst into ash? What will happen to Jacob, who is now dying?

Question for Chapter 36 is...

things that could have possibly improved this chapter or if it needs improving.
