Looking back at the death count accumulated in the IN Arc so far: WOW!

I have to say: looks like the IN Arc will have a bigger death count than the EOSD Arc...

Chapter 34: Lunar-tic Eyes

Time: 1215 Hour; 24th of July, 2125.

Location: Eientei Corridor.

Even while inside Eientei, the noise caused by the Lunar Gunships can be heard.

"The Lunarians seriously need to install silencers in their Gunships..." LT lampshaded.

"I second that notion." Harrison added in his comments. Then he looks ahead of the corridor.

"On second thought, have them keep the noisy engines..."

Cue a swarm of Fanatic Rabbits approaching, this time some are wielding primed TNTs.

...

Location: Eirin's Office, Eientei.

"Princess, don't you think that sending everyone after them is a bit overblown?"

"What are you saying, Eirin? Rushing the enemies always worked."

"That's in video games, and this is real life. Or is it?"

"Now that you mention it, I wonder if we were in a video game all these time..."

"Tha... That's not true, princess!"

"You're right. I think I'll stay off the computer for awhile."

"Glad to hear... Hey, where did you get that Tablet?"

"Borrowed it from Satori-san."

"NEETs..."

...

Location: Eientei Corridor.

"Return to sender!" LT used the blunt side of the Zantankuto to bat a primed TNT back to the Fanatic Rabbit that threw it, blowing her up.

After the explosion, the remaining Rabbits stopped attacking and took a few steps back.

"Are you bitches retreating 'cause of that bomb just now, or is it 'cause of the body count?" LT taunted the enemies.

It might have been the deflected TNT, as the section of the corridor that got blown up is now a smoldering mess; or it could have been the body count, as there's enough stacked corpses to be improvised sandbags.

Or perhaps it was someone else commanding them to stop...

"Leave, all of you." A voice commanded.

And the Fanatic Rabbits retreated.

Left behind is a purple-haired Moon Rabbit that is standing ahead of where LT and co is headed toward.

"You must be the leader of the Moon Rabbits, I presume?" LT questioned.

"What about it?" the Moon Rabbit replied.

"That means you're just another Communist." LT taunted. He then turns toward his men, "Shoot this bit..."

He stopped mid-sentence because of what he saw: everyone else, including Harrison, seems to be lying on the ground unresponsive to anything. Their irises are also jerking around their eyes like crazy.

"Hypnotizing..." LT notes what happened. "Ouch..."

The Moon Rabbit made her move. "Some says that you can become a lunatic by just staring at the moon of Gensokyo, so can you defeat me, whose eyes holds the power of the moon?" She points at LT with a finger gun, and actually firing a bullet from it.

"Dammit!" LT cursed as he watched the bullet tear through the shoulder portion of his shirt.

"Try this!" The Moon Rabbit sends a volley of bullets at LT.

LT had to smash through a wall to dodge the bullets.

LT hid behind the wall he just smashed through, Zantankuto on hand and ready to stab or behead the enemy.

He could hear the Moon Rabbit walking toward him slowly. He prepares himself to jump out and land his attack.

When the Moon Rabbit gets close enough, he jumped out of cover and slashed at her head...

...and it turns out that what he slashed was just an illusion.

"Doppelganger?!" LT exclaimed at what he just saw.

He then takes a look at his surroundings; the Moon Rabbit has created doppelgangers of herself at every direction.

"Are you afraid now?" Her voice echoed as though the doppelgangers were also speaking. "This is the power of lunacy caused by the moon. Resistance is futile."

"Tch..." LT swallowed his breath to contain the anxiety he is experiencing at the moment. "Are the Summers family not immune to lunacy?" He muttered.

Every doppelgangers and the real one (which can't be located) each fires a bullet from their finger gun. LT failed to completely evade them, allowing some bullets to graze his skin and causing gushes of blood. The bullets that are still moving at their current trajectory hit the walls and one of the doppelgangers, which then disappears.

"The bullet that hit a doppelganger continued with it's trajectory as though it didn't hit anything..." LT analyzed with his mind. "That means the doppelgangers are not physical and thus doesn't displace any air.

LT then shuts his eyes and stops paying attention to the attacker.

"By listening to and feeling the displacement of the surrounding air, I should be able to find the real one..." LT thought.

The Moon Rabbit and her doppelgangers took aim and prepares to fire another bullet from their finger gun, but from what LT could detect with his rough equivalent of a sixth sense, only one is moving and taking aim.

"There!" LT suddenly opened his eyes, and slashed at what he sensed as the real one. He seems to be right, as a gush of blood appears from her cheek. The doppelganger disappears once the real one is hit.

"Your lunatic eyes may affect one's sights..." LT taunted with his explanation, while striking a badass pose with the Zantankuto on his shoulder. "...But it doesn't affect their nerves at all, so you're useless against a blind swordsman."

"Nice move..." the Moon Rabbit congratulates in a sarcastic tone.

"That's a family technique." LT replied.

The Moon Rabbit suddenly pulls out something from her back, it's a Lunarian-issued SMG. She fires a couple of rounds at LT point-blank...

...But the one second she took to grab the SMG was just enough for LT to seemingly teleport behind her. The STI CEO then grabs her gun-wielding arm and breaks it at the elbow point.

"Nice try, bitch..." He then jumps to her front and does the same to one of her knees. The Moon Rabbit screamed in pain both times.

"Don't try anything, got that?" LT threatened. He then turns toward his men whom were victims of the Moon Rabbit's ability.

They are still under the effects, so LT decided to snap Harrison awake by slapping him.

"Feeling better?" LT asked his right hand man.

"I guess..." Harrison touched his cheek upon waking up. He then looks at the Moon Rabbit. "You bitch..."

The Moon Rabbit's eyes began to glow bright red...

"Oh, shit..." Harrison cursed again, preparing to draw out the WL-2 he's wielding before.

His boss quickly turns around and puts the smooth side of the Zantankuto over his eyes.

The well polished blade seems to serve as a mirror, which seems to reflect the Moon Rabbit's lunatic stares back at her.

The Moon Rabbit collapses onto the ground, in the same state as her previous victims.

"Taste your own medicine!" LT taunted. He then turns at Harrison. "Let's wake up everyone."

Harrison looked at one of the Turks, who was bleeding from his ears and nose at the same time. "No pulse. He's dead, boss."

"Damn..." LT cursed, while trying to hold back the pain caused by his most recent wounds.

...

"They've just defeated lunacy. I have to congratulate them...

But, they have just messed with the wrong doctor.

I, as the 'Brain Of The Moon', won't back off so easily...

As I, Eirin Yagokoro, does not believe in cowardice!"

Afterwords

"Hang in there, Reisen-san!"

Boy, was that a wall of text. It was also a tough job describing the fight versus Reisen Udongein Inaba as clear as possible.

I've also went through the trouble of making sure LT took some tough but non-fatal wounds, just in case you complain 'bout his plot armor.

Also, going kinda tight with writing and submitting the chapters. Perhaps I should take some lessons from Mizuki Hitoshi AKA Kogasa-san (just hope it doesn't include Sanaelation).

Did Kaguya and Eirin just lean on the Fourth Wall there? Can't tell...

Shout-out index:

"Return to sender!" *hits TNT back* - May not count, but I don't recall seeing any explosive projectiles that can be reflected by attacking it, other than the Ghast fireballs from Minecraft, of course.

"He's dead, boss." - Not very subtle, for those who'd never heard the line "He's dead, Jim." by Spock from Star Trek Original Series.

"Hang in there, Reisen-san!" - Right in the Afterwords, no less. This is an obvious reference to the Doujin "Hang In There, Kogasa-san"

That is all. "Until then..."
