Chapter 34 : Desperation
Next Morning - Autumn and Bobby ' s Hotel Room
The next morning Autumn woke up in the hotel room with Bobby still asleep next to her she smiled at him sleeping peacefully as she looked at the beautiful engagment ring on her finger . She couldn ' t be any happier at the way things turned out yesterday . First Autumn wins the Knockouts Championship like she had always dreamed of and then the man she loves the most proposes to her , it was like something out of a fairy tale except it was real and the evil villian was still out there waiting to be vanquished . Just then her cell phone rang breaking the peaceful silence .
" If that ' s the Cowboy tell him to call Chris instead . " Bobby said .
" Hello , " Autumn chuckled as she answered the phone .
" Somebody is in a good mode this morning , " Jackie Moore said .
" Hey , Jackie , Bobby is being goofy . " Autumn said .
" Yeah , so , I have some news for you . " Jackie said .
" And I for you , so , what ' s your news ? " Autumn asked .
" Karen is pissed off at you winning the Knockouts Title . " Jackie informed her .
" Yay , I pissed off Karen Jarrett , " Autumn said excitedly .
" Yeah , and she has made a special request for us to take on Gail , Madison , Sarita , and Rosita from Mexican America . " Jackie continued .
" Meaning there will be a lot of outside interference , darn , " Autumn sighed .
" Yep and Hogan is arranging for the two of us to tag with Traci and Chyna to try and eliminate the Knockouts helping Sting and Fortune . Of course , Karen sees this as an opportunity for their girls to weaken you down in order for Gail to cash in her rematch clause . " Jackie said .
" They are not raining on my parade or taking this title away from me , Jackie . " Autumn said making Bobby look at her .
" That ' s what I like to hear , but what about the Anarquia and Hernandez ? " Jackie asked .
" Hmm , well I got Bobby and Chyna has Angle ? " Autumn wondering if that was a good idea .
" Maybe we should talk about it when we get back to the Impact Zone . " Jackie suggested .
" Sounds good to me , " Autumn agreed .
" So , what is your big news ? " Jackie asked .
Autumn looked at Bobby who smiled .
" Well , Bobby and I are engaged , " Autumn said .
" What ? When did this happen ? " Jackie asked surprised .
" Last night at the bar . " Autumn smiling big .
" I knew I was going to miss something if I didn ' t go with you , but Sting had me go with Chyna to find out what Karen ' s next move was going to be . " Jackie said .
" Its fine girl , " Autumn said .
Bobby yawned and rolled over on his stomach to go back to sleep .
" Well , I think Bobby is wanting more sleep . " Autumn chuckled at her fiancé .
" Alright , I ' ll let you go and see if I can help Sting with our problem . " Jackie said .
" Okay , bye , " Autumn hung up the phone .
" What is Bobby and Angle doing ? " Bobby asked .
" Don ' t know yet , but if the plan goes the way Jackie and I were talking about then we may need you and Kurt or somebody to deal with the outside interference that will be a problem . " Autumn said .
" What plan are we talking about ? " Bobby looked at her .
" The plan that Immortal and Karen cooked up to put Jackie , Traci , Chyna , and myself in a tag match again Gail , Rayne , and the girls from Mexican America . Apparently Karen and Hogan thinks they can either take us girls aligned with Fortune out of the picture or weaken me enough so Gail can take the Knockouts Championship back with her . " Autumn said .
" And I take it the ones who would quite possibly be interfering in the match are Anarquia and Hernandez ? " Bobby asked .
" Yeah , " Autumn answered as she put her phone back on the nightstand .
" Well , we can worry about them when we get to the Impact Zone and right now we can have some fun . " Bobby said pulling Autumn to him and kissing her .
" Yeah , I know what kind of fun you want to have . " Autumn said .
" You do ? " Bobby asked with a devious smile .
Autumn pushed Bobby onto his back , mounted him , and then started kissing him breathless like she did last night until a knock came at the door making her stop and get off of Roode .
" Damn , " Autumn said as Bobby got up and opened the door .
" What ? " Bobby asked .
" Good Morning to you Bobby Roode , our esteemed World Heavyweight Champion , Cowboy James Storm has sent us to inform you and the future Mrs . Roode to meet him for breakfast . " Daniels said standing in the doorway .
" Esteemed ay , I will stick my esteemed Canadian foot up his Cowboy buttock for interrupting my moment with my man . " Autumn said grouchy .
" She said ay , " Frankie laughed .
" Hmph , " Autumn glared at Frankie .
" Baby , we can enjoy ourselves when we get back to Orlando . " Bobby suggested .
" Yeah , you ' re right , could you two give us a few minutes to get ready ? " Autumn asked Daniels and Kazarian .
" Sure , " Daniels and Kaz walked off .
Soon , Bobby and Autumn walked out of the hotel room and caught up with Daniels and Kazarian at the elevator who was waiting on them with Traci .
" Traci , I am going to kill me a Cowboy . " Autumn said .
Traci laughed .
" Can you hold off until after Immortal is gone ? " Daniels asked .
" Maybe , " Autumn said .
" Knockouts Champ vs World Champ coming to you right here folks . " Frankie said .
Traci laughed even harder .
" Bobby , " Autumn groaned .
" What ? " Bobby asked .
" You need to talk to your Beer Money partner about ruining my moment . " Autumn pouted .
" No problem , " Bobby holding back a chuckle .
Hotel Lobby
They got off the elevator and spotted the others .
" Good Morning to you all . " Petey said .
" You all , can ' t you just say y ' all , Petey ? " Storm asked making Autumn glare at him .
" Not everyone speaks twang like you do Cowboy . " EY said .
" Right , " James said making Autumn glare even more .
" Uhm , Cowboy , I think someone is pissed off at you . " Harris whispered to Storm .
Storm looked to see Autumn glaring at him .
" What ' s the matter sis ? " James asked .
" The esteemed World Heavyweight Champion , Cowboy James Storm sent Daniels and Kazarian to inform Bobby and myself that he wants us to meet him for breakfast , does that ring a bell ? " Autumn asked .
" Yeah , I sent them up to ask you guys if you wanted to go to breakfast with the rest of us , but I didn ' t say esteemed or mention anything about the World Heavyweight Championship . I did tell them if you guys wanted to be alone then not to bother the two of you and we could take a rain check , darlin . " James said confused .
" But , you left this note at my hotel room . " Daniels said pulling it out .
" No , I didn ' t , because I went home last night remember and I just got here after I called Kazarian this morning . " Storm looked at Daniels .
" Can I see that note ? " Bobby asked .
" Yeah , " Daniels giving it to Bobby .
Bobby looked it over as Harris peered at the note over Roode ' s shoulder .
" Hey , that ' s not even Storm ' s handwriting . " Chris said .
" No its not , " Roode agreed with Chris .
" Then who sent it if not Storm ? " Frankie asked .
" What if its someone trying to tear us apart ? " AJ asked .
" Like Immortal , " James said .
" Could be , " AJ agreed .
" Then they must think the one way to defeat us is to divide us by causing rift between the two champions in Fortune . " Daniels said looking at James and Autumn .
" Not a bad plan , but one that none of us would fall for that easily . " James said .
Autumn was paying attention to them but also thinking really hard about the note and who could have sent it if not Storm . Immortal would definitely want the group split apart , but so would . . . Autumn was about to think when she saw him standing next to a column just outside the lobby door .
Autumn gasped and then without a second thought she ran after him .
" Autumn ? " Bobby asked when she ran off .
" What ' s with her ? " Traci asked .
" No clue , but we better follow her . " AJ said as they took off after her .
Autumn ran between the people in the lobby avoiding any collision as she made it to the front door , but a tall person got in her way and blocked her path to the door . She went around the person to avoid hitting the person and saw that the man was gone as she came to the door . The others stopped behind her as she looked around and saw the familiar station wagon speeding off up the road from the hotel .
" I figured that ' s who it was , " Autumn said not realizing the others were behind her when Bobby touched her on the shoulder making her jump .
" Sorry , I startled you , but who are you talking about ? " Bobby asked following her eyes to the car realizing .
" He sent the note and he was here . " Autumn said .
" Who ? " Storm asked .
" Let me see the note . " Autumn said .
" Sure , " Bobby giving it to her .
She looked at the handwriting recognizing it at once .
" My step-dad , he sent the note and he was standing here in this door while you guys were talking about the note . So , I tried to get to him , but I lost him when my view of the door was blocked then when I got to the door I saw his station wagon speeding off from the hotel . " Autumn told them shaking .
" So , they are now on to us as well . " AJ realized .
" Who ? " Eric asked .
" The people from Autumn ' s childhood home , the ones who want to kidnap her and Bobby for Fortune helping her to escape years ago . " Traci said .
" So , they have found you after all , which means Immortal must be getting desperate . " Petey said .
" But , I can ' t have them knowing where I am , what if they show up at the apartment when I ' m alone or anywhere else that I go ? " Autumn said .
" Then we protect you . " Bobby said .
" But , they ' re after you as well Bobby . " Autumn said .
" Then we protect both of you from them . " Storm said .
" Thanks Storm and sorry for accusing you about starting this . " Autumn looked regretfully at the Cowboy .
" Its not your fault , darlin , how were you to know that those creeps would try something like this ? " James asked .
" I don ' t know , but it was still wrong to accuse you for it instead of just asking you about it . " Autumn afraid that the Cowboy now hated her .
" Don ' t worry about it , Autumn . " Storm said .
Autumn and Bobby ' s Hotel Room
After breakfast they all went back up to the rooms Autumn was in her and Bobby ' s hotel room hugging her legs to her chest with tears falling down her face .
" What ' s wrong baby ? " Bobby asked seeing the sad look on her face .
" Storm ' s hates me now for getting mad at him . " Autumn said crying .
" No , he doesn ' t , Autumn , what makes you say that ? " Bobby looked at her concerned .
" Because I accused him for something he didn ' t do . " Autumn continued to cry .
" Autumn , I assure you Storm doesn ' t hate you cause none of it was your fault and he knows you wouldn ' t do anything to hurt him . " Bobby said .
" But , he does Bobby , " Autumn said as a knock came at the door .
Bobby got up and checked through the peephole in the door to see Storm and AJ outside the room . Roode opened the door for both of them to come in , but stop James at the door .
" Go on in AJ , I need to talk to Storm . " Bobby said .
" Okay , " AJ said .
" What ' s up ? " James asked .
" You need to talk to Autumn , " Bobby said .
" Why ? " Storm asked .
" Because she is upset and she thinks you hate her for the note . " Roode said .
" But , I told her earlier that it wasn ' t her fault . " Storm said .
" I know that and I told her the same thing , but look at her . " Bobby said both of them looking at AJ trying to talk to Autumn .
" Alright , I ' ll see what I can do . " James said not liking her looking sad .
" Thanks man , " Bobby said .
" No problem , " As Beer Money walked into the hotel room .
" AJ , let me try . " James said .
" Sure , " AJ said standing off to the side with Roode as Storm sat next to Autumn .
" Autumn , " Storm said .
" Yes , " Autumn looked at Storm , she was shaking now due to her being upset .
" What ' s up ? " James asked .
" You hate me now , " Autumn said .
" No I don ' t , what makes you say that ? " Storm looked at her shocked .
" Because I accused you of doing something you didn ' t do . " Autumn crying harder .
" Autumn , it wasn ' t your fault , how were you to know about the note or that your step-dad would try to trick us ? " James asked .
" I wouldn ' t have known because I haven ' t had any contact with my dad since I left that awful place . " Autumn said .
" Exactly , which means none of this is your fault . " Storm said .
" So , you really don ' t hate me ? " Autumn asked looking at the Cowboy .
" No , darlin , I don ' t , you are like a little sister to me Autumn and there ' s nothing Immortal , your step-dad , or anyone else can do to make me hate you . So , please stop crying , it hurts my heart when you cry . " Storm said .
" Okay , " Autumn said whiping her eyes to dry her tears .
" All better now ? " James asked .
" Yeah , " Autumn said as Storm gave her a big brother hug that made her feel safe .
" Good , you were starting to worry me for a minute there . " Bobby sighed glad everything was okay again .
" Aw , I am sorry honey that I worried you , but you know soon we will be saying ' til death do us part ' and all of that good stuff . " Autumn said making AJ and Storm both laugh .
" And who said death will keep us apart , cause I will love you for all eternity may dear Dark Angel . " Roode kissed Autumn .
" You two are so cheesy , " AJ and Storm both said as another knock came at the door .
" AJ , would you get that ? " Autumn asked .
" Sure , " AJ said looking out the peephole to see Bret with the Wildcat and let both of them in the hotel room .
" Uncle Bret ? " Autumn looking at him confused .
" I was just told that your step - dad was here at the hotel . " Bret said making Autumn glance at Chris .
" Petey told him , " Chris said .
" Yes , my step - dad was here apparently to look in on Bobby and myself so he could supposedly come up with some bright idea of how to take both of us away . " Autumn said .
" So , Immortal isn ' t the only threat at the moment ? " Bret asked .
" No , but my step - dad is working with Immortal at the moment . " Autumn sighed at the constant problems surrounding Immortal .
" You seem bored , " Harris said .
" Annoyed is the word for it , I am annoyed at these constant plans that Immortal comes up with simply because they think they can get the upper hand on us or scare us away . I ' m sorry , but I am not going to be intimidated by my step - dad , Immortal , or any other threat anymore , so , they are wasting their precious time and mine . " Autumn said thinking about what she wanted to do .
" Autumn , what are you thinking about ? " Bret asked making Bobby look at her curiously .
" I am thinking that I need to talk to Sting sooner than later . " Autumn said walking out of the hotel room .
" Autumn , wait up , " Bobby said following her with the others wondering why Autumn wanted to talk to Sting .
