Kayci POV

She had been hiding out for a whole day now and was pretty sure Brelyna had stopped looking for her, afterall, the Elf did need a lot of sleep unlike herself, so the night took its toll on her, much to Kayci's pleasure.

Despite all this she was still unsure of what to do, she couldn't just live in this burnt out house forever, she would eventually have to venture out. And seeing as how it was no longer Resh's birthday, so he and Lydia would shortly be leaving the tavern, they would have to set off soon. And then Kayci would have no choice but to see her lover, a phrase she had never thought would be a bad thing for her.

Her day hadn't been all bad though, she had managed to keep entertained by listening to Resh and Lydia's time together. She was ashamed to admit that it was her only source of fun, but then again, she reckoned she had earnt it, Resh had done the same thing more than enough times over her when they were younger.

If only Brelyna hadn't burnt her only bag of moon sugar, then her day would've been far more interesting, it might have even been enjoyable. The withdrawal effects weren't setting in just yet, something the Tsaesci was thankful for. She had at least a few days before she'd start to crave some again, and by then she would have probably bought some more.

She felt bad knowing that she'd have to lie even more to Brelyna, to whom she had promised to stop taking the stuff, but she had been a fan of narcotic for decades now, and she knew she was completely dependent on it now. It was a good job she could easily obtain it with all the cat-people around and how she could quite easily earn money.

Her only problem was her Elf lover trying to stop her, she knew Brelyna had the best of intentions, but she didn't know what she was doing trying to stop her, it was unlikely the mage could cure an addiction, not that the Tsaesci wanted it cured, and it was better for Kayci to lie to her and keep taking it than for her to let Brelyna see her in her deprived state.

After several minutes of debating, Kayci decided to risk leaving her newest hide-out, she couldn't smell Brelyna anymore, suggesting she had gone off somewhere to cool off. And she could smell Resh was no longer in his room but in the tavern bar preparing to leave.

Lydia was still in their room, but she too was getting ready to go as well, meaning Kayci now didn't have much of a choice to go. She knew they would want to set off immediately, they had spent long enough in the poor excuse of a town called Morthal.

Kayci's sense of smell and hearing had always been very acute, far more than Resh's so it was unlikely he knew she was hiding out so closeby, or what she had been doing when she was bored and could hear and smell them. Which was lucky really, as she doubted Resh would be okay with the news, and was positive the Nord woman wouldn't be either.

Hopping from the destroyed building Kayci silently darted out making sure no one saw or heard her, she presumed locals wouldn't be very favourable to the idea of someone snooping around a building which people had only recently roasted alive in.

At that thought Kayci sped up her exit of the building, feeling she may have slightly disrespected whoever died there by staying there… and also the thought of cooked meat made her slightly hungry as she hadn't had a good meal in ages.

Pushing the tavern doors open Kayci was greeted with the sight of Resh involved in a mild argument with the tavern owner, obviously he wanted to complain about their noise too. The owner didn't seem to be getting anywhere though, as after only moments since it had begun he was immediately intimidated by the larger mans size.

Kayci could have almost laughed, the smaller man was in no danger yet he still flinched every time Resh moved. Her friend didn't seem to care much, he was barely even paying attention to the annoyed, and scared, man. Resh was just happy after what his previous day had been filled with, or better put; what he had filled, in his previous day.

She had known him long enough to know when he was lost in his thoughts, obviously Lydia had been very generous when it came to the age-old Nordic tradition of 'birthday sex'. Resh probably didn't even realise the other man was there.

Therefor, to make things easier Kayci decided to sort it out for him, and quickly diverted the still slightly pissed off man away with a glare that hinted at physical repercussions if he carried on like he was now.

"Have a happy day?" Kayci smirked, already knowing the answer.

Resh knew what she was hinting at, and joined her with a grin, "I think we both know I did," he then looked around, slightly confused at something. "Where's Brelyna?"

"Oh yeah Brelyna… she's pissed at me again, and is trying to find and quite possibly kill me," Kayci muttered, knowing that nothing was going to end well from her recent developments.

"What did you do this time?" Resh sighed, and he thought he was bad to his girlfriend. Kayci had already pissed off Brelyna more times than he had to Lydia, including the times they weren't even in a relationship.

Kayci murmured silently, remembering how stupid she had been. "I said you were better at sex than her…"

"I must say, I have been having the best day ever," Resh laughed as he couldn't help but feel pleased, much to the annoyance of Kayci, who playfully hit him for his teasing, but then giggled along anyway. Not noticing the angry figure step through the doors.

Later On Kayci POV

Even by the time they reached Ustengrav Brelyna was still annoyed at her, it turned out she was less annoyed by Kayci's slip up about her favourite sex, but was however extremely pissed off by Kayci's hasty retreat.

Before giving her the silent treatment for the entire walk Brelyna had given her some ridiculous lecture about how she was always running away from conflicts and making mistakes. Or something to that effect, Kayci wasn't really listening.

Kayci was in a way kind of happy about Brelyna's silent treatment punishment, it meant that they weren't arguing which was good, although she had the horrible feeling in some way it was actually worse. Plus in her opinion Brelyna was a lot sexier when angry so that was pretty good as well.

Lydia and Resh seemed to be getting along quite well, as during the walk the two had been whispering to each other in a feeble attempt at keeping her from listening. Unfortunately for them Kayci was still capable of hearing their hushed voices. However she didn't care enough to follow what the were saying, something along the lines of their, in comparison to her own, horrifically vanilla sex life.

The Tsaesci woman also noted that the Nord had acquired a limp from somewhere, it wasn't hard to guess how though, suffice to say it seemed the Nord frail human form wasn't enough to survive the might of a Tsaesci and come out unscathed. Judging from the strength Resh could put behind thrusts, and the areas in which he was doing them. It was no wonder Lydia was sore, and felt the need to rub her ass to soothe the pain every 15 minutes.

She hoped it wouldn't impair the woman's fighting abilities, these Nordic tomb were notorious for bandits to inhabit, or Draugr to rise in, and she would hate for one of her new friend to die from being fucked in the ass too hard.

Even if Lydia's skills were slightly off today, she was sure the Nord would never fall in harms way, not with Resh wanting to protect his new lover. He got very protective of the things he liked, and even more so of the things he liked and could shove his dick into.

And if that wasn't enough, Kayci could always save the day as usual, seeing as she was far better at fighting than Resh, and she was assuming the other two, were. She may not be as smart as the others, but when it came to combat she knew just what to do.

But then again, she was already starting to feel some of the moon sugars effects coming, she doubted it was really an issue, but was still a little on edge, not liking the risk. It wouldn't look very good for her if she dropped in the middle of a fight and started frothing at the mouth, Brelyna would kill her, as would Resh most likely.

The tomb itself was grand to say the least, it almost made Kayci wish her own kind had the same sort of thing, rather than just eating each other. But then again, building magnificent structures like this would take so long, and in the current war-time they wouldn't have time. Besides, the Tsaesci culture and tradition was more or less set in stone so to suggest any form of change would be enough to get her very disliked very quickly.

Also, from what she was experiencing of ancient Nord tombs at the moment they seemed to always be teeming with bandits, mages and various traps. Not something she wanted in her home, especially as Resh had pulled her from various spiked traps many times so far, and they had only been venturing through the place for 15 minutes.

She returned the favour by breaking in the skulls of any fools that got close though, so they had a happy little system. Lydia didn't seem to be much help, but then again she wasn't in the best fighting condition. Brelyna however, despite being angry with her, was more than happy to fire a few bolts of lightning at any of the murderous bastards she saw, not quite killing them, but making it easier for her or Resh to finish the job.

Things only started to get difficult when the Draugr started cropping up, and it didn't help that they smelled absolutely awful. They were able to resist a lot more of Brelyna's magic than the mortal enemies, luckily though, they still weren't much of a match for her and Resh. With their far superior strength it still took very little effort to snap bones, and destroy the necromantic magical powers which kept them alive in the first place.

Needless to say the inside was beautiful, especially when they got further in, and fought off a few more hordes of undead. The place was more of a natural cavern now, with a few structures dotted around it, an almost mystical light brightened the area, and shone down on this one patch of life that was growing, a large tree sprouted up, looking incredibly attractive to say the least.

Were the place easier to access Kayci would've considered coming here more often, perhaps with Brelyna if she cooled off later, the way the light brought out the colour of the Elf's skin was perfect, only amplifying the beauty of her features.

There was little time to admire the gorgeous scenery though, as only moments later they were diving into more swathes of Draugr, these seemed even more powerful than the last, and Kayci could feel some of their swings getting close… well, closer than they were before, but still far off the mark.

Resh had taken a few cuts, although that was just how he fights, ignoring anything that isn't a real danger and only dodging things that were absolutely necessary. None of them were deep enough to actually be a problem in any way whatsoever, it's unlikely he even knew they were there in the first place.

He had a few scratches on his arms, most likely from where some helpless little undead things desperately tried to protect itself from the giant of a man called Resh. By holding up it's sword to block Resh's, only for it to be barged into and then stabbed.

There were also some on his hands, he usually got marks on his palms when fighting, usually because he tended to slap the blades away from him, with no care about his fingers. It was a risky strategy, but for someone with Resh's brute strength it was practically undefeatable, in comparison any scratches he did get would be the equivalent of Kayci getting a mild paper-cut.

Resh saved his magic for any archer Draugr, it may have seemed like a waste to use it all on archers when there were so few of them, but Resh hated bowmen with a passion, absolutely hated them. More than happy to waste huge amounts of his power to immediately turn them into dust, rather than small amounts to whittle them down efficiently, like a mage usually did.

With his extremely large pools of magicka power, and potent spell knowledge, most would assume that it should be his primary attacking style, and by all means they were correct, it 'should' be. But instead Resh favoured the blade, she wasn't really sure why though, considering how much he banged on about magics superiority.

Kayci had a lot of time to wonder about this as they had finished clearing the place of Draugr, the only problem now was some puzzle they had found in order to get into the next room. She knew she would be of no help whatsoever, she wasn't clever like Resh or Brelyna, she there was no way she could contribute.

All she had noticed about it was that one of the stones would light up whenever Resh walked by, and thus open a door. Only there were three stones, and only one Resh, and there was no way he would be fast enough to run through all three and get through the gates, he'd need to have some way of running super quickly to do that.

She was quite peeved at the guard system to be honest. It was annoying because the stones only activated when Resh walked by, if she, Lydia or Brelyna tried it would do nothing. Each time they tried Kayci got more and more angry at the sexist stones only working for him.

After much pacing around, and a long amount of time trying to think of something Brelyna finally thought of something. "How about, Resh activates the stones, and I slip through. Then he does the next, and I go through that, and so on and so forth, until I get to the other side."

"It could work, but then how will I get to the other side? or what if there's more of this sort of thing later on?" Resh asked, not liking the idea of staying behind, but liking the idea of giving up even less.

"I'm sure there will be a lever, and if there's not, us girls can just do all the work, and you can wait for us to come back," Brelyna explained.

Resh thought about it for a while and sighed, "Fine, but try and get me through before you go ahead."

Brelyna nodded in return and stood in position. Her plan worked perfectly, she had to dart from each section to the other due to the fast moving gates, but she still made it. Thankfully, for times sake, there was a lever, and all four of them were able to pass through like it was a normal corridor. On her way past Kayci kicked one of the sexist stone for wasting her time, chipping a small chunk from the side.

Kayci was kind of hoping that after that annoying puzzle they would be by the end, but alas she was not, there were even more Draugr. Although now Kayci was sure they were somewhere by the end, after killing off the last remains of the dead the group were no face with a large room, with two large pools on either side. Making it seem even more magnificent and fancy than before when coupled with the intimidating columns and intricate wall decoration.

To top it all off was a grand looking pedestal the most important looking feature of the room as it was the centre piece, beautifully decorated and designed. Clearly where, if anywhere, this 'Horn' they were looking for would be.

Unfortunately when Resh walked over to examine the thing his expression grew annoyed and an angry frown spread over his features. Kayci noticed, in his hands was not a Horn, but a note.

Resh POV

'Rent the attic room at the Sleeping Giant Inn in Riverwood, and I'll meet you.' Resh growled at the memory of the damn note. He was going to have to have serious words with whoever wrote it, because of whoever it was, the group had to go on another walk. Just this time it was longer, all the way to Riverwood, that was at least a weeks long venture.

At least it meant they would be going to a different city at long last. Although, Resh had to admit, there would be some fond memories of Morthal, regardless of his views on the wreck of a settlement. Afterall, it was one of the only times in 413 years a birthday had actually meant something to him.

He wondered if Kayci was going to try and get something out of Brelyna when her time came around, their lovers spat had gone on long enough and the silence between them was getting rather annoying. He was almost hoping to be kept awake at night because of them, anything was better than their current situation.

A poor love life wasn't her only issue though. Resh didn't want to bring it up in case it only angered the Elf more, but he had noticed Kayci was acting a bit strangely, she hid it well, and avoided conversation so they were less likely to notice it, but she didn't fool Resh. The others may not have realised it, but it was obvious to him to Kayci wasn't quite handling Brelyna's rules as well as first expected.

He would have to talk with her about it in a few hours when they reached the town and could get a chance to speak in private. Not now though, as the general consensus in their group was to only speak the common language he had no way of talking to her about it without causing a scene and involving Brelyna and Lydia too.

On the bright side he would see Ralof again, who would no doubt have something to say when he finds out Resh and Lydia were in fact together. Resh decided that since he now held considerably less disdain for humans meeting the first human he had been on somewhat good terms with would be a good thing.

Also, with any luck he'd be able to punch whichever idiot it was who decided to drag them halfway across the country.

2 Hours Later

Resh wasted no time when he got to the village and first things first stormed into the 'Sleeping Giant Inn' to find out who the fool who took his horn was. Whoever it was had also made the mistake of referring to him as 'Dragonborn' in the note, so not just were they going to pay for wasting his time, but also for calling him that.

"Do you have an attic room?" Resh grumbled, snapping the woman who appeared to be in charge out of her stream of complaints at the man she called 'Orgnar'. Resh suspected it was probably her who this 'friend' was in the note, but wasn't entirely sure, so decided to remain as civil as he could get until he found out. And if that involved not threatening to kill potentially innocent tavern owners then so be it.

A knowing look flashed in her eyes, confirming his suspicions, and before he had time to say anything she spoke up again, although she must have noticed his growing anger as she seemed to hurry her speaking. "There's no attic room here, but I think I know what you're here for. Just go into that room," she said, pointing to the door on the left, the woman then noticed the rest of Resh's group behind him, "alone on the left and I'll meet you in there shortly."

"Fine," he hissed in reply, "But you are going to regret making me and my friends spend an entire week walking, this had betterbe worth it."

She straightened slightly at his threatening remark, but said nothing of it. After a few moments Resh was satisfied and explained the situation to the others. They didn't really seem fond of the idea that he was going to meet with her alone, especially Lydia, but they reluctantly agreed that it was probably best to do what she said until they found out more of what was going on.

Following the woman's instructions he headed into the room, only to be instantly confronted by the woman from earlier, "So you're the Dragonborn?" she started, holding out the horn he was looking for, "I think you're-"

Resh cut her off, sharply snatching it off her, "You call me that again, and I'll beat you to death with this thing. Now you're going to tell me why you went into a Nordic tomb to steal a horn before I could get to it, and then insult me in person!"

"How did I insult you? in fact it doesn't matter, we have more important things to discuss, follow me," she told him, trying her best to ignore the harshness in his voice. Delphine unlocked her wardrobe and unexpectedly pushed the back panel to the side, revealing a passage to a hidden room.

Reluctantly he followed her through, and stepped into a modest room, it would have been fairly uninteresting and bare were it not the strange map on the table, next to a book about the Dragonborn, causing him to have to hold back an angered growl.

"The Greybeards seem to think you're the Dragonb-"

"One more time," he hissed lowly, slightly raising the horn, preparing to actually do it and cave in the woman's skull.

"But that's what I need to speak to you about!" she argued.

"Then obviously we have nothing more to say," he snapped, getting ready to leave. Before halting when he noticed the weapon rack to his left, and the weapon resting on it.

"This is from an Akaviri steel forging technique," he stated, grasping the the hilt and lifting it off, it was a similar design to the weapon he had, before he lost it fighting imperials. "You're a 'Blade' aren't you?"

"How observant of you," the woman muttered dryly, "You're not really meant to know that yet… what if you're a Thalmor spy?"

"You can rest assured, I'm not an imperialist… ok, well I'm not an imperialist Thalmor," Resh replied, slightly interested as to what a Blade wanted him for. "And I wouldn't turn turn you in either, I have my reasons for being fond of the Blades."

Delphine sighed in relief, this might not be as difficult as it was first made out to be, "Does that mean you'll listen to what I have to say?"

"Fine, tell me again what it is you wanted, but if it involves the word 'Dragonborn' I'm leaving."

She let out another sigh, this time in exasperation, "Well this is going to be a hard conversation then. How about this? you look like the sort of person that could help get rid of the dragons."

"Okay…" Resh slowly said, unsure how this was going to turn out.

"We just want to see if you've got what it takes, so I want to watch you kill a dragon," the Blade predicted that he probably wouldn't want to hear about how she wanted to see him absorb a soul and prove he was Dragonborn, so left that part out.

Resh frowned, knowing there was more to this, "Are you aware of which group started the Blades?"

Slightly confused the woman replied, "Yes, it was when the armies from Akavir came and took over Tamriel they started the Blades guild to protect the Drag- the thing I can't talk to you about."

"Close, but no. It wasn't the Dragonborn they were meant to protect, it was people who spent years of their life in hardship to learn the voice, had the Dragonborn existed in the time the guild was first established the code of conduct probably would've been to kill and eat them," Resh corrected, holding back a sad tone at the end when he was once again reminded of his disestablishment from his kind.

"I've been a Blade long enough to know how our faction works, and it wasn't founded like that," Delphine snapped back, not liking people telling her she was wrong with no evidence.

"You're wrong," he replied simply, not caring about the pissed off look on her face.

She hid her annoyance though, happy to have the large man's attention, and acceptance to listen, "I'm not. But anyway, do you want to help us kill dragons or not?"

"When you put it that way…" Resh started to say, before he glanced at the sword he had put back down, "I'll do it if you let me keep that sword, I haven't had a decent weapon in ages."

Delphine smiled that they had an agreement, even if he didn't know that she wanted him to prove he was the Dragonborn, "I'll even chuck in some Akaviri armour too if you want it."

"Wait, you have more? Two swords would be better then, and two suits of the armour, I have a friend that would want some as well," Resh bartered, it was likely Kayci would also want some armour based on her peoples design.

"Deal," she said quickly, not wanting him to raise his price any higher than that. She needed the Dragonborn, but the Dragonborn didn't necessarily need the Blades.

Kayci POV

"They're sure taking a long time aren't they?" Lydia muttered, not wanting to be apart from Resh for too long.

"Maybe they're fucking?" Kayci offhandedly suggested.

"What?! why would they be doing that?! she's like 50!" Lydia shouted, she hadn't even thought about that, and it terrified her the idea of Resh being with someone else, making her thoughts spike with jealousy.

"Of all people do you really think Resh would care about age?" Kayci queried, causing Lydia to remember that he was ridiculously old too, even if he didn't show it. And without saying another thing ran off to make sure no one was going to steal her man.

"They're not are they?" Brelyna asked as she watched Lydia dash into the room. She knew she was trying to avoid talking to her, but the Elf had to know why Kayci randomly did that to Lydia.

Kayci laughed, "No, of course not. I was just bored and thought it would be funny."

"You're evil," she muttered.

"And you're talking again," Kayci retorted.

Brelyna spluttered for a bit, before replying with, "Shut up."
