Sorry that this is so late and that I haven't been up loading frequently. I caught a sickness called procrastination, and there is literally no cure until I have to go back to school. Also, I feel like my story isn't as good as you all think it is and that I am undeserving and that this whole thing is a train wreck. But you guys seem to like it? Also, happy belated holidays.
PoV Clary
I sat up in my bed, looking down at Jace, his golden hair fanned out across my pillow. I looked down at myself, my red underwear not at all matching my baby blue bra, but who cares? I had the man of my dreams next to me. It was the day after Christmas, and nearly time to go back to school. I didn't want to go back, and I didn't want to stay home. I was stuck in the middle of where I wanted to be.
I got up and put on some clothes, careful not to wake Jace. He shifted in his sleep, his face peaceful and calm. I knew I'd have to wake him up, seeing as he had agreed to go to the mall with Alec and pick out some new clothes for the school year. I was going with Magnus to do the exact same thing, but I knew it would take us a lot longer to find good clothes.
I shook Jace's shoulder, waking him slowly from his dreams.
"Do you mind?" he asked groggily. "I was riding a llama."
"You'll have to continue that dream later," I said. "It's time to go shopping."
…
About an hour later, Magnus and I sat with a huff at one of the mall tables. Magnus put his head on the table, let out a long sigh and went almost completely limp.
"I ache all over!" he said. "My shoulders hurt, my feet hurt, my arms hurt, and my butt hurts."
"Your butt?" I asked, leaning back in my chair. "We've only been sat down for, like, two minutes."
He looked up at me, his yellowy green eyes glinting in the fluorescent lights. "I never said it was because I have been sitting for too long, Clarissa."
"I don't think I want to know."
He shook his head. "I'll just leave it at this. Alec's parents better be happy we slept in my apartment."
"I knew I didn't want to know."
Magnus smiled and rested his head on the table top again, shifting in his seat slightly. I watched him as he shifted, and then looked around the café. I spotted some people from my old school, and waved. They walked over to say hello, and soon became attached to Magnus. I looked on, smiling as Magnus got exasperated at my old friends from school. To be honest, they weren't really my friends; I just sat with them at lunch so I wouldn't be sat alone.
"Cain?"
I turned and saw Jonathan, who made his way towards Magnus and I.
"Hey, I didn't know that you lived around here," he said.
"Who's Cain?" one of the girls said.
Jonathan pointed to me, and the girls raised their eyebrows.
"That's Clary."
"Well," Jonathan said. "I don't judge people on their orientations, so why would I judge people on their sexualities?"
"You're trans?"
I shrugged, and looked across the table at Magnus.
"Well, Cain and I have some business to do elsewhere," he said.
I stood and picked up my bags, heading for the exit with Magnus. Jonathan ran to catch up with us.
"I just wanted to say I am truly sorry for what my brother tried to do to you," he said.
"It doesn't change what he did," Magnus said with a glare.
"But thank you," I said.
…
When I got home, my new clothes in bags, my hair freshly cut and washed, I sat down and put in the first Supernatural DVD. It was going to be a long break.
Jace came and sat next to me.
"When'd you get here?" I asked.
"Me and Alec were out shorted than you and Magnus," he said. "I got you something."
He pulled out a small velvet box from his pocket.
"Are you proposing?" I asked.
"Sort of," Jace replied.
He stood and knelt in front of me.
"Clary Frey," he said. "I promise to always to be loyal to you, and to always try to be understanding. I love you, Clary, and I don't want to lose you."
I smiled at him and let him place the black ring band on my finger. I wrapped my arms around his shoulders and leaned into him. "I love you, too, Jace."
