A/N: I have forgotten to say this earlier: The picture I have in use is from dA by an artist lychi and the picture's name is just simply Zelda. I'm sorry that I forgot to inform this important piece of information. T.T
Also, another note: I do NOT own the characters or places unless said otherwise. Nintendo has the rights. =P Honestly speaking, all I have is the idea for the story, few monsters, creatures and bit of changing the places. Oh, and couple of OCs here and there. ^^; I'm certain everyone can figure out which belongs to me and which doesn't. =)
-.-.-.-.-.-
SORRY! I totally forgot today's Monday! D= I remembered twice but couldn't upload the story at then and after that I forgot again. T.T I'm honestly sorry!

LETTERS FROM HYRULE
CHAPTER 36: Answers and questions
To Link, Hero of Time and Dark, Knight of Hyrule
I first must ask have you hired a professional letter writer for your selves? I have never seen such quality writing from a Hylian. Not to be insulting but the only letters I've received, not counting yours, have come piratical rogues of another time. long story.
Now on to your questions. our farms are small islands completely covered by crops the farmers themselves live on boats with their families although the islands they use constantly change because of the great storms that come roughly every fifty years or so.
The military is...um... well let me put it this way I've had this job 142 years and I still don't understand it all. but I will try to explain the most common form of rankings. I hope you don't mind me keeing some things from you to keep tactical advantage I can't show all my cards at the moment anyway.
the most basic level one starts out as is recruit where you are taught the swords, spears and bows. After you prove yourself proficient in these you choose a branch to join. Here is where things get complicated. there are 24 different branches each with some times hundreds of sub. most common form of ranking go's as so you enter the group as a cadet where you learn the fundamentals and history of your branch and sub branch. After that you become the entry rank soldier, this is where most are content to stay as you can't have an army of officers and no troops. but for those who wish to achieve the goal of officer must pass a series of vigorous tests different as set up by the branches guide lines in order to become a lesser officer.
I was given a group of weapons and had me name and identify. but some others include tracking, archery, mapping, diving, and boat making. the ranks after that are as follows officer, greater officer, supreme officer, lesser general, general, greater general and finally Major General. there is one rank that the king bestows that you can get regardless of current rank. that being the rank of hero. Although it is easier to move a mountain with your bare hands than it is to get that title. but you would know that wouldn't you Link.
Now onto the two packs I hope you didn't open them before reading this. inside the manila is the one of the most strange plants we have. it comes from the storm and as soon as it touches organic matter it begins to grow hence the reason the pack is lined with iron as it grows it pulls electricity from the air. which it uses to sustain itself. the plant reaches full height in 19 minutes. a short time but if it didn't it would be devoured. when at full height it will be about 4ft with sparks being emitted in the shapes of leaves and a iron like trunk. I suggest that you plant both packages in the same pot the effect is quite 'shocking'.
The greenish pack contains a seed of a dox dulpex tree or dark double , which is my eldest daughter's favorite. she thought Dark might like it. The odd thing about this tree is that it takes the form of the plant nearest to it and grows a second version of it that's pitch black. and don't worry about being overrun with lightning trees unless you have bees that can survive electrocution the flowers won't pollinate. as for the dox dulpex the flowers are all faux.
Wow, this letter was long I hope it answers your questions. now a question for a question for you what are your libraries like and your places of learning. oh the king just sent a messenger to add something to this letter. The council is in and with Great pleasure King Peter Qwimby, The Counsel and me wish to inform The Kingdom of Hyrule that Tarikroshan is now and until given reason otherwise a true ally of the Hylians thank you in advance for your answers.
Brother-in-arms
Major General of Tactics
Gilgar Q. Webb
of Tarikroshan
Link chuckled a bit as he read the first lines of the letter. Dark glanced at him while trying to make something out of the two envelopes. "You know, your writing skills are complimented quite well in here." The Hero told with a slight grin. "Which is the very reason I'll let you to answer this letter." He continued with a mischievous smile.
The darker Hylian sighed bit heavily. "Fine..." He muttered and turned his gaze back into the envelope that was lined with iron. "I just wonder why make this so heavy with iron..." Dark thought out loud before glancing at Link whom had returned back into checking the letter.
RIIIIP!
Link jumped a bit in start and turned to look at his brother. The dark Hylian had opened the iron lined envelope and dropped seed out of there. Dark took a better check of the oval shaped thing while the Hero stared at him. Suddenly the Hero's Shadow gasped and nearly dropped the seed. "What's wrong?" Link called bit worriedly.
Dark stared at the seed. "I-it's growing..." He half stammered while rushing over to the table and showing the quickly forming roots. The dark Hylian jumped and gasped a bit as the small seed gave a slight electric shock to him. "And it's feisty too!" He grumbled while trying to avoid touching the roots.
Link stared at the seed and jumped a bit when Dark had gasped out. "Well, put it into the pot!" He half commanded and pointed to the bluish pot where a short tree was growing. The darker Hylian nodded and went to put it into there.
"What does it say about that?" Dark inquired while fetching the other envelope. "And there seems to be another seed too in here..." He continued while holding the letter towards the light to see the small seed.
Link skimmed through the letter very swiftly before gulping. "Um... We only got about nineteen minutes before that..." He started and pointed into the planted seed before continuing: "...will grow into full height." Dark blinked and turned around to look at the pot. "So, um..." The hero whispered while looking bit uncertainly at the pot.
"OUT! We gotta get it out, NOW!" Dark nearly screamed and scrambled to get the pot. "Out, out, OUT!" He half shouted while picking the pot and heading towards the door. Link shot to his feet and ran to open the doors. "Where?! Where should we plant this?" The dark Hylian inquired in half panic.
The Hero sighed nearly exaggerated and shook his head. "We still got lot of time, bro. Just calm down." He told while leading the way but moving fast enough through the castle. "And to the front gate. I think that's where it'll be best." Link continued while getting out of the caste and trying to figure out the best place for an electrical plant.
Dark took once a quick check around before taking about thirty meters from the front door and put the pot down. "Here. We gotta check from Gilgar about the plant's reach." He told before already starting to dig. Link facepalmed and shook his head.
"How about we fetch a shovel before you break your hands?" He suggested while already going to get the needed item. The dark Hylian blushed a bit and scratched the back of his head nervously. Yet, he ran right after the Hero to get the needed thing.
It didn't take long before the pot was in the ground and the normal tree was taken out of there. There already was a small start of a tree in the pot as they put it into the ground. "What did it say about this one?" Dark inquired while taking the green envelope out and waving it a bit.
Link snatched the envelope from the dark Hylian and opened it. "It's a seed for a double." He told before planting it close to the first seed. Dark looked quite confused and frowned slightly at the Hero's doing. "Meaning that it will grow up like the tree that's the closest to it. So, in this case it'll be like that electrical one." Link explained while standing up.
"Oh... We probably should ask if there's a chance to let the second tree further from the first to get bit better security." The dark Hylian told before already becoming bit uncertain. "Um... Sorry for losing the little tree..." He mumbled bit sorrowfully.
Link sighed and shrugged. "Well, I think the electrical one will be more important on this case. And I think I can get a new one someday." He answered and smiled a bit while draping his left arm around Dark's shoulders. "Now, how about we go to actually read the letter through and answer into it?" The Hero suggested calmly. "Plus I think I gotta inform Zelda about the new addition into our garden..." He thought while guiding Dark back inside.
Once they had reached their room again, the duo sat down to the table. "I think I should meet with Zelda and explain about the tree. While I'm at it, you probably could read the letter and start writing a reply. Okay?" Link suggested while standing up and starting to gather the needed things for replying.
Dark groaned and half slumped over the table. "Why me?" He inquired and gave a puppy-dog-eyes to the Hero. Link coughed and blushed while turning his gaze off.
"Because you did such excellent work with the earlier one. And I think we should keep that up too." He answered while trying to stay calm. Dark sighed heavily but sat up straighter.
"Fine. I'll write the stupid reply..." He grumbled and pulled the letter over before starting to read it.
"Thanks bro. I really appreciate it." Link told and gave a quick kiss to the side of Dark's head. "I'll see you very soon again." He called while already leaving the room. Dark just simply gave him a mock-glare and a sigh before returning back to the letter. Once he had read the letter couple of times through with a fully confused frown on his face, he finally started to write the reply.
Dear Major General Gilgar Q. Webb II, thank you for your letter. I am very grateful of our Kingdom having an alliance with your Kingdom. Thank You.
And thank you for the answers. It all sounds very interesting. We would love to learn more about your Kingdom. And the two trees are planted and, well, I have to admit that we were close of having slight incident with them. Yet, all is well and no-one got hurt. Thank You for the special gift. I wish we could send something of equal value for you and your Kingdom but... I have to admit that I do not know what would be of such value to be considered as a good gift.
Also, about the two trees. There are some things I would love to learn about them. The first is how does it attack and how will the trees know an enemy from an ally? The second is how far the electrical attacks can reach? And as third, can the fake tree be separated from the actual tree later on for better defense or should they stay close to each other? Oh, and as fourth, how long does the trees live?
I am sorry for so many inquiries but I love to learn about new things. Oh, and we do not have professional letter writer. I do them myself. But, thank you very much for the compliment. Yet, I have to admit that Link has taught me the basics and all that so I cannot take full credit.
Now, as for your inquiries. Well, I do not fully know about the libraries and places of learning. I... Well, you could say I was homeschooled. But, as far as my knowledge goes all of the areas in Hyrule have their own libraries and schools of their own kind. Though, the biggest library is at the castle and the biggest school is at the Market. I am not certain but I would say that the next biggest are at Kakariko Village. It is actually odd that I do not know more about libraries as I love to read and learn. Yet, since I have the castle's library in my use, I guess I just have not needed the rest of the places. So, how about at Tarikroshan? How are the schools and libraries at there?
With best regards:
Dark, the Knight of Hyrule, and Link, the Hero of Time
Dark read the letter through and frowned a bit. He picked up the letter they had gained and read it through again. "Shit... Forgot to mention anything about the military and Link being a Hero." He thought bit uncertainly before sighing heavily. "Oh, well, I'm NOT going to re-write it all." The dark Hylian frowned and for a short moment thought about adding the stuff into the end but eventually shook his head. "Might give bad image of things if I put it as a way of remembering things too late..."
Suddenly Link came back into their shared room. "Are you done with it yet?" He inquired straight off while walking over to the table. Dark sighed heavily and offered the written letter reply to the Hero.
"More or less. I forgot few things and I'm not eager of rewriting it." The dark Hylian replied bit defeated. Link frowned slightly while taking the letter and sitting down to the closest chair.
"Well... I think there's nothing to be worried about. You did say what he told is interesting and that question about Hero stuff... I'd say it was more of a rhetorical inquiry instead of waiting for an answer." He started and smiled. "This is as amazing as before." Link told with a wide smile and gave a quick kiss to the top of Dark's head. "Now, I got something for you. Come on!" He told and half forced the dark Hylian up to his feet.
Link picked up the two envelopes for the reply as well as both of the letters. Dark frowned a bit at that but didn't inquire about it since he had slight feeling that the letters should go through Zelda first before having rights to be send off. The dark Hylian followed the Hero through the castle and into the door of the kitchen. "Close your eyes." Link told with slightly mischievous grin on his face. Dark frowned even more but sighed and did as he was told. After that the Hero guided him inside.
Dark still kept his eyes closed as Link sat him down in front of a table. The Hero walked over to the Princess of Hyrule whom was waiting for the duo at the kitchen. She smiled and nodded to Link as he gave the two letters. Zelda stayed silent in hopes of keeping herself from the dark Hylian's notion until she had read the first letter. "And this is Dark's reply?" She inquired while slightly waving the reply letter.
"Fully." Link replied with a slight grin as he noticed the full surprise and slight blush on Dark's face. The dark Hylian slumped a bit over the table in hopes of hiding his face. The Hero was close of chuckling but kept himself in order. He glanced at Zelda as she read the letter through.
"I have to agree with Gilgar. Dark is good at writing formal letters." The Princess finally concluded with a slight nod. She gave the letters back to Link before quickly kissing his cheek. "The letter is good to go." Zelda told before winking once and walking out the kitchen.
Link blushed slightly but smiled and nodded. "And that means my plan can move forward." He thought while coming over to the table and putting the letters and envelopes down. "Okay bro, you can open your eyes now." The Hero called while sitting down and moving a close by plate towards the darker Hylian.
Dark sighed heavily but sat up and opened his eyes. He was quite surprised and confused as he saw a piece of chocolate cake on a plate and a mug of hot chocolate. Link smiled widely. "Slight treat for the best letter writer in the castle." He told happily.
Dark blushed before smiling a bit and accepting the offer. "Seriously?" He inquired just to make sure and Link nodded. "Thanks!" The dark Hylian half shouted before taking up the fork but he hesitated soon. "You wanna share?" He inquired while not being fully sure whether or not to enjoy the treat alone.
Link chuckled and shook his head. "It's all yours, Dark. No sharing this time around." He told while raising his hands for surrender. Dark sighed a bit but nodded and started to enjoy the treat. The Hero sighed a bit and crossed his arms over the table before leaning his head down over them while whole time watching the darker Hylian. "Glad to see him this happy from time to time." He thought with a small smile. Dark blushed a bit as he glanced at the Hero but tried to ignore him while eating the piece of cake.
After the treat the duo put the letter into the envelopes and went to send it off. "You know... If this is the treat I get for writing a formal letter, I think I might actually accept that job." Dark told with a grin as they were heading back towards their room.
Link chuckled and shrugged. "We'll see about that." He answered with a smile.

A/N: So, review, please! =D Even anonymous ones are accepted but if you got a account in here or at DeviantArt, inform of the penname so I can leave a review reply! Otherwise the review reply will be on my profile page or in the next chapter! Thank You!
Also, flames are accepted but those shall be for Axel's entertainment or for Demyx's practice! =P
Few things to notice:
1) Most of the chapters aren't that of long but the least I'm doing is one Word page long so it should be long enough. ^^; Also keep sending the letters even though I'm not certain when the next letter is replied to. ^^; IF we're lucky, it'll be at next Monday but not certain of that. ;) Though, Monday IS the updating day but how often is uncertain. ^^;
2) How to write a letter:
Couple of simple things that I would HIGHLY appreciate:
- Before sending what You've written, please, read it through. Just in case if there's some words missing.
- Dots. I would SERIOUSLY appreciate it if You could actually put a dot after a sentence. Helps TREMENDOUSLY to read it. It's okay if You're not using capitalized letters at the start of a sentence and within names but I would pretty much RECOMMEND the dots into the end of the sentence.
- Paragraphs. Whenever You change the topic in Your letter press that button called Enter. Again, it helps to read the letter and find a way to reply to it.
- NO harmful things. I will NOT accept letters that are having mean and cruel words NOR harmful presents... Though, there IS an exception. I WILL send such thigngs into Evil Realm. At first I had thought to deny it from there too but then I came up with that one story with the send magic bomb and, well, yeah... But such things will NOT be send to Dark, Link, Zelda or others who are NOT thorough bad guys. Thank You for Your understanding.
All of these little things also helps YOU to give a better picture of You to the character You send the letter.
Still in working:
1) Do a drawing from one of my stories and I'll write you a story OR I can give bit of preview from upcoming chapters or next stories. =)
2) Send questions to Dark and/or Link! Also, other characters will be answering if you want to send a question for them! =)
