Liam Pov
Today was my first day at my school. I remembered how Elektra felt on her first day, I remember how nervous she was and how I told her I'd look after if anything happens. Guess I'm not much of a help now I'm here in London!
Jack and Abby helped comfort my nerves but I was still pretty nervous.
"Look I'm sure you'll be fine.." Abby soothed.
"Yeah but this is the first time I'm going to properly meet everybody! I just.. I miss the DG.." I told her honestly.
"I know Liam. But trust me you'll be fine. If anything goes wrong you can talk to us yeah?" Abby said and I nodded.
"OK. Let's get this over with!" Jack said.
Once we'd reached school we saw pupils walking into school. I nervously got out of the car and walked to the main office with Jack and Abby. I saw a few people looking my way but I ignored them. Once inside Mr. Robins smiled at us and told me to wait in the office. Jack and Abby left so it was just the head and I.
"You nervous Liam?" Robins asked.
"Yeah.." I sighed.
"Hey don't worry. I've put James,Zoe, Natasha and Amrit in all your classes so you won't be alone.."
"Cool" I replied. The head smiled and just then James burst through the door looking out of breath.
"Hi Liam! Sorry sir.."
"Where were you? Liam shouldn't have been waiting here for 10 minutes!" Mr. Robins told him frustratedly .
"Yeah sorry 'bout that! Liam I'll show ya to your class!" I got up and flung my rucksack round my back and followed James out.
"Liam I'm sorry, I just had to talk to my mates about the match tonight"
"Why? You the captain?" I asked.
"Yup. Look I know Robins told ya all that shit about not being nervous.. well as long as you stick with me you'll be fine!"
"Some huge school.." I muttered.
"Exactly! We don't need half of these classrooms!" James complained.
I smiled.
"You're still nervous ain't ya!" James teased "You'll be fine, honest. The girls will like you anyway.."
I groaned as he said this.
"What?" he asked.
"I hated most of the girls in my old school, cos they kept trying to impress me. I got sick of it!"
"What really?" James asked.
"Yes! I even thought about being gay!" I said blushing.
"Poor you! Don't worry the girls here aren't like that but they'll like you I'm sure! At least you can put the girls off me can't you?!" James grinned.
I rolled my eyes.
"Okay we're here. Just stick with me yeah?"
"Got you.."
We walked in. The classroom was noisy with all the guys in one corner talking about the match, some girls in another obviously gossiping about something. And the rest spread out across the class doing whatever. Most of the class looked up when I came in and I suddenly felt more nervous than ever now.
James simply raised his eyebrows, "Oi! This ain't any of your business, so stop staring! It's rude!"
Everyone went back to what they were doing, but the subject was now about me. I caught some of the phrases, "He's hot!", "Aw his face is so cute.." or "Reckon he plays a bit?" and "Seems like a good guy"
James showed me to my locker and I dumped some of my stuff in. He gave me my planner and once I had dumped my bag and put away my stuff he showed me over to his mates.
"Right I'll introduce you.. Liam this is.. Murray, Jake, Donte and.."
"Chase" a guy with black hair that hung in his face said gruffly.
"Chaz dude.." James started seeing his bitter face.
"Look I don't want a new addition to our group okay. You're only with us till you find someone else, so don't go thinking we'll let you in!" 'Chaz' said grumpily.
I smiled, for some odd reason he reminded me of Elektra.
"What you smiling at?"
"Nothing.. you just remind of someone I know. Nice meeting you.." I replied as James pulled me away.
"Sorry about him. He's kinda angry and he's got ADHD so.."
"It's fine!" I said cheerily.
Just then Zoe walked in with Natasha by her side obviously rambling on about something. Zoe saw James and ran up to him, "Where the fuck were ya? I waited for like an hour!" she yelled at him.
"Waited for what?" James asked clueless.
"Our f*ckn date!"
"Oh yeah sorry, I had to train for the match.."
"Next time don't be late.." Zoe warned him.
"Hey I won't look, I'll make it up to you tonight. You can come round to mine at 7?"
"Fine, then.. but we're going out after! There's this new place opening up I wanna go and see.."
Just then a boy with brown hair walked up and tapped Natasha on the shoulder and pulled her away to one corner. Zoe watched them with confusion.
"What the.." she muttered and we watched the boy say something to her while she shook her head and walked back. Zoe was the first to react and shook Natasha by the shoulders, "When Ryan Woods asks you out, you say YES! Not NO!"
"Yeah but I don't wanna go out with him!"
"For fuck's sake you don't wanna go out with anyone!"
"And? Why do you care?"
"Because I'm starting to think you're gay! And that is a real scary thought.."
Natasha smiled, "Look lots of people haven't been on their first date or anything, I mean look at Amrit!"
"Yeah Amrit hasn't been out with anyone cos he's a NERD! You're not a NERD and guys like you!"
"Bit mean on Amrit, Zoe.." James pointed out.
"Whatever. I'm just being honest. Look go back and say yes.."
"No Zoe. I'm not going out with anyone yet and that's that.."
"But.."
"No but's Zoe. I choose what I want, not you. OK?" Natasha said quietly.
Zoe opened her mouth and shut it, obviously speechless.
"Wow Nat, you should do that more often.." James grinned looking at Zoe's annoyed face.
Zoe snapped out of her trance and glared at James and walked off with Natasha.
"Alright class settle down!" our form teacher called.
"We have a new pupil today, Liam will be joining us so be nice, and I'll take the register!"
I saw faces turning round to look at me but I shrugged them off as I sat next to James for my first lesson in London. Our teacher was Mr. Art. He as fairly old and was our English teacher which was good because that's what our first lesson was today. I concentrated through the lesson and things seemed to go well. Everyone was starting new topics so studying wasn't too hard.
At break I hung out with James and his mates. Chaz was still giving me the cold shoulder but I didn't care. Donte was nice to me as was Jake and Murray was also nice except he was a little awkward when talking to me.
I watched the guys play footie on the playground. I didn't want to join in, so they made me referee. At the end of break it was 2-1 to James's team. After some more lessons it was lunch and I sat with James and his mates next to Zoe, Natasha and some other girls that seemed to already have developed a crush on me. Great.
I soon got bored of listening to the same old stuff about the match and turned to listening to Zoe who was gabbling away like a railway train. (..don't ask)
"SO basically Ryan asked her out this morning and she said no but then at break I made her go up to him and she got well fed up with me and said yes and now they're going out this Friday night and like don't worry cos it'll be well romantic cos he's taking her to the new place down the road that I asked James to take me to but he probably won't cos he's lazy like that.."
"Zo, they get it.." Natasha told her.
"I'm not finished yet! Yeah so where was I. Oh yeah.. so James won't be taking me to that new place.."
"Yeah nice Zo" a small Japanese girl interrupted her, "So wait Tash this is your first date eh?"
All the girls oohed then and Natasha rolled her eyes, "Big deal"
"Ryan Woods asked me out in Year 7 and it was cool so don't worry.." the girl told her.
"I'm not worrying, Em! I'm just.. forget it.." Natasha announced uselessly.
"Aw, hey you know that Liam dude?" Maiko said. I quickly pretended to not hear.
"Shut up or he'll hear!" a brunette beside her said.
"No he won't Jord, yeah go on Emi.." Zoe said.
"Well I've heard that Penny's after him, big time.."
"Oh god. Someone's gotta warn him then before its too late.." Jordan realized.
"No need, I think he heard. Didn't you Liam?" and all the faces turned to me. I turned and nodded sheepishly. Something told me this was gonna be a repeat of the Stella experience.
"Look something like this happened at my old school, it's fine.."
"Whatever Penny's way worse. She's.. she's.." Zoe struggled.
"Loopy-in-the-head" Natasha finished off for her.
"Exactly. She's a psycho.." Emi added.
"Oh here she comes now.." Jordan mumbled and went back to eating with her mates.
I copied their actions but unfortunately for me, I didn't get to take any other bite out of my sandwich. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to face this 'Penny'. I expected her to look similar to Stella but to be honest, she looked pretty normal. I started to think that maybe this wasn't the so called 'Penny' but everyone's face said otherwise. Everyone suddenly seemed to be pitying me.
Penny had long white-blonde hair. She didn't seem to be wearing any make-up if any like most people here and her skirt was high like Zoe's and she wore small socks like her as well. Apart from that she looked well, quite decent actually.
"Oh.. err sorry.. I usually sit there.. where you're sitting.." she said in a quiet innocent voice. I started to shuffle but she stopped me, "No it's fine, you can sit there, wait hang on you're the new boy right?"
I saw James shake his head quickly so I replied, "No, sorry.."
"Oh right, I just saw the name on your lunch bag, it says Liam.. and no one's called Liam around here.." she hinted quietly "Look I'm sorry for being.. look I'll just go.."
I watched her go. What was so bad about her, that everyone was scared of? "Wait!" I called after her, realizing that the cafeteria was dead silent. She turned around quickly and awkwardly "You dropped your drink carton.." I muttered and she slowly went to pick it up and muttered a quick apology and ran off.
I turned back to my lunch smiling. Seriously? What was so bad about her? I caught Zoe and James looking at me alarmed. I presumed it was just shock over how cool I was right now. But no..
"Liam, she's mad ok, stay out of her way!" James warned.
"Look she may not seem like it, cause she's tryna act all innocent but don't fall for her!" Zoe warned.
"I haven't!" I told them, "Trust me!"
"Look mate, just.. watch your back.." James muttered and I saw Chase look at me give a half-hearted smile and turn back to his lunch. I frowned, annoyed and returned to my lunch. After lunch lessons started up again and I just about managed to get through them to the end of the day. As soon as the clock struck 3.15 everyone started packing up, ignoring our Maths teacher Mr. Britain's calls to stay seated for the next minute.
I looked around and spotted Jack hidden away on the next road with his car. He was trying hard not to embarrass me. I watched as Zoe and James shared a kiss and walked off towards the bus station along with Natasha and Jordan who were smiling and chatting away.
I still wasn't prepared to use public transport yet; guess I still needed time to adjust to London, but for the meantime, I just had to try and fit in.
Simple, when you put it like that.
Zoe Pov
Hi, there guys, and if you couldn't be bothered to read who I am... I'm Zoe. Zoe Morgan. Remember that name okay? It'll be in the papers one day, I swear.
It's cool that I get to have my own Pov even though I have no fuck's idea what Pov even means! Oh well. Nobody's as clever as Amrit.
Anyway, I still can't believe Natasha's got herself a date. I mean yeah I know I pushed her into but like, she's never said yes to anyone! Strange. Maybe she secretly does like Ryan and decided to give it a go. I've already shipped them two. They are so sweet.
But not as sweet as me and James because we are way better than Posh and Becks themselves!
That Liam dude seems nice enough. But he seriously needs to watch out for Penny, like really. Heard she flashed at a teacher but that could just be lies, but Penny well.. no one knows what goes on in that mad brain of hers!
As I walked along with James to his house, I zoned out of his stupid talks about the game tonight.
"Yeah so I bet we'll win.. Zo.. Zoe..?" James said waving his hand in front of my face.
"What? Yeah your hand's pretty.." I mumbled quickly.
"Did you even listen to a word I said?!" James asked.
"Nope. Why should I?" I asked casually.
"Because you're my girlfriend and we're meanta listen to each other!" James said.
"Yeah and you're my boyfriend and you're not meant to forget your date!" I argued back. James stopped walking. I stopped too.
"What?" I asked frowning.
"Look I'm sorry, if you're upset about that.."
"I'm NOT! I just.. I just wish you would pay some more attention to me as well y'know.." I said shyly blushing.
James spotted this and smiled, "Aw do I make you blush..? You look cute when you do..".
I hid a smile but looked away still angry at him..
"I'll take you to that new place right now.. to make it up for you. Just you and me, I won't talk about the match.." James said grinning.
"If you do..!" I started but James interrupted me.
"I won't.." he said kissing the top of my head "Trust me.."
And with that we walked away, hand in hand, happily.
