"Flower Cannon!" said Lillymon, firing her attack at Myotismon.
"Do you expect to beat me with geraniums? Nightmare Claw!" Myotismon sends a claw made of shadows at Lillymon, causing her to scream in pain and lose her color.
"Lillymon!" said Mimi as she watched her Ultimate digimon fall to the plate form above her, where Sora and Toshiko are.
"Get out of here, Sora, now!" said Toshiko.
"But what about you, mom?" asked Sora.
"Just go!" ordered Toshiko.
"Grizzly Wing!" Myotismon shouted, sending his bats towards Lilymon.
"Oh no! They're going to get her!" cried Mimi but then Birdramon flies over.
"Meteor Wing!" shouted Birdramon, firing her attack at the bats destroying them, swooping in and grabs Lillymon.
"Sora, get out! He's way too strong!" shouted Mimi.
"What are you waiting for?! Get away you…you things! Sora, go!" said Toshiko, trying to get the Bakemon to leave her alone. Sora then makes her decision and jumps off the platform, grabbing Birdramon's foot as she flies off. "I'll come back just as soon as I can find the others. Don't worry mom." said Sora.
"Let me go! Let me go!" Toshiko said as two Bakemon grabbed her and another grabs Mimi.
Meanwhile at the unfinished building. "Poor Agumon. You're always getting beat up." said Kari as she and Kara helped him by bandaging the dinosaur's paw. "There, how does that feel?" she asked.
"You're getting good at this." said Agumon as both twins laughed.
"No way!" Tai's exclamation made everyone look over at him.
"Way. It's true. I saw the whole thing." said Matt.
"That creepazoid. He's cut off the whole entire district." said Tai.
"Mm-hmm. It's that crazy fog bank of his." said Matt.
"This is insane. Holding thousands of people prisoner just so he can find the 9th child." said Tai.
"And there's no telling what he'll do if he doesn't find her." said Matt. Tai kicked a can in anger before he sat down on a bench. "This is all my fault, isn't it?" Kari asked softly, making Matt and Tai gasp as they looked over at her and Kara. "It's all happening because he's looking for me, right? That's why mom and dad and everyone else are…" she said as Kara and Labramon gave her an empathetic hug.
"Now don't say that. It's not your fault." said Tai, walking over to the twins and Labramon, placing his hands on Kari's shoulders with a small smile. "It's just the way things are. It's called fate." he said. "Don't you worry. I'm gonna bring Mom and Dad safe and sound, and your little buddy Gatomon, too." he tells her, chuckling, trying to lift the tense mood.
"Hey Matt. do me a favor and look after the twins till I get back." said Tai.
"Uh, sure. No problem." said Matt, unsure as he walked over.
"Kari, I need you to be a big, strong girl for while I'm away." Tai said to her.
"Okay. Please be careful." said Kari.
"Hey, aren't I always?" he asked, giving a thumbs up as his digivice starts beeping. Tai then goes over to Kara and Labramon. "Kara, you and Labramon know what to do, right?" asked Tai.
"Don't worry, Tai." said Kara. Tai smiled and ruffled her hair a bit. "Ok its 7:30. Give me 2 hours. If we don't make it back by then, you guys get out of here. Let's go Agumon!" said Tai.
"Ok!" said Agumon.
"Be careful, man!" called Matt.
"See ya soon! Everything's going to be alright!" said Tai before he trips and falls down the stairs with Agumon following.
"I hope so." said Kari, hugging Kara.
At the Izumi residence, Izzy was in his room and opens his laptop. "Look, an email from Gennai." said Izzy.
"Greetings. Salutations from cyberspace." said a Gennai icon.
"Oh, get to the point." said Tentomon.
"But this is no time for pleasantries. You're in a tight spot, eh? First thing to do is put up a digital barrier." said the Gennai icon.
"A digital what?" asked Izzy.
"You're probably wondering what that is. Well, download the program and I'll explain. If you can put it up in time, the digital barrier will protect you." said the Gennai icon. Meanwhile Tentomon looks outside to see the Bakemon rounding up more of the people. "Oh, the Bakemon are getting closer every second. Can't you go any faster, Izzy?" asked Tentomon.
"I'm trying. I told dad I needed a quicker modem." said Izzy.
Meanwhile at the pier. "We're sorry but because of fog conditions, no ferries will be running to the district until further notice." said a worker through a megaphone.
"What do we do in the meantime?" asked a man in the crowd.
"Please bare* with us, we're doing everything we can. Just have to wait for the fog to lift." said the worker. In the crowd, Nancy, TK and Patamon were trying to catch a boat to get into the city. "I'm getting a bad feeling from this crowd. I think we should be going, TK." said Nancy.
"Hey, what do you suggest I do? My family is in there." said a man in the crowd.
"Mine too." said a woman. Just then, the crowd pushes forward, causing TK to get separated from his mother. "Please stay calm." said the worker.
"You stay calm." said a man.
"Yeah." said another man.
"In cases of emergency, you might want to try renting a private boat down at the harbor. That's all I can suggest for now." said the worker.
"Mommy?" TK asked, holding Patamon.
"TK? Where are you?" Nancy asked from another part of the crowd but, then the crowd starts pushing again, causing her to get further away from TK. Once TK and Patamon were outside, they were catching their breath against the wall. "Aw man, that was close." said TK as he was leaning against the wall.
Meanwhile the Bakemon were continuing to take families from their homes. "Come out, come out wherever you are." said Phantomon. Back in Izzy's room, he was continuing to download the digital barrier which was only halfway finished. "Come on. Come on." said Izzy, wishing that his computer would go faster. Just then, his parents burst into his room with a golf club and a frying pan in their hands.
"It is time to go, Izzy." said Yoshie, holding a frying pan.
"We've got to get out of here." said Masami, holding a golf club.
"No believe it or not, we'll be safer here." Izzy tells them.
"What are you talking about, Izzy? Those creatures will be at our door any minute." said Yoshie.
"Trust me, I know what I'm doing. Just give me another couple of minutes here." said Izzy.
"No, you are coming now." said Yoshie, pulling her son away from his computer.
"Wait mom, let me go." said Izzy. Outside, a Bakemon was making his way to the Izumi residence. "Mom, you don't understand." said Izzy, struggling to stay at his desk.
"No, you don't understand. This isn't the time. Now, will you please leave that computer alone and come on." said Yoshie.
"Huh?" she asked, feeling her husband's hand on her shoulder.
"Dear, maybe he knows what he's doing. Let's trust the boy, alright? The kids seem to know more about it than we do." said Masami.
"You're right." said Yoshie.
"Go for it son." said Masami. Izzy smiles at his parents and continues to download the digital barrier. Phantomon was now outside the Izumi door with two Bakemon. "Next. Trick or treat." said Phantomon. Just then, the digital barrier finished downloading. "Done. Digital barrier coming on…now!" said Izzy as a bright light flashes from his computer as Phantomon slices open the front door.
The two Bakemon flew in and looked through the apartment. One looks into Izzy's room, but doesn't see anyone. "Huh? That's funny. I could have sworn…huh?" Bakemon asked, seeing a golf club and frying pan floating in mid-air.
"There's no one here. Let's get moving." said Phantomon. After the digimon leave, Izzy's parents fell to the ground a second later. "It worked! The digital barrier is in place." said Tentomon.
"Huh? Ah!" said Izzy's parents in shocked as they turned to look at Tentomon.
"Oops. Well, now that you can see that I can talk, my name's Tentomon. Pleased to make your acquaintance." said Tentomon, causing Yoshie to pass out.
"Dear?" said Masami, catching his wife before she hit the ground.
Meanwhile at the convention center, the Bakemon separated the adults from the children and were now sitting on the floor. "Well, what are you going to do with us?" asked Susumu.
"Now what's going to happen?" asked a woman.
"Well, if I told you now, it would just simply ruin the surprise that's coming up. In the meantime, why doesn't everyone just take a little nap." said DemiDevimon, putting the adults to sleep. Meanwhile, Gatomon was being forced to point out the 9th child from a group of kids the Bakemon rounded up. "It's not him." said Gatomon.
"Next." said Bakemon.
"It's not her." said Gatomon.
"Okay, next." said Bakemon.
"Beware Gatomon." said Myotismon from a shadow behind her as she cringed at his voice.
"Huh?" asked Gatomon, but she doesn't turn around.
"If you lie to me, I will simply destroy them all." said Myotismon appearing from the shadows. All the kids start to cry as Gatomon wonders what she can do to help.
Meanwhile at the pier, Joe was caught in the pushing crowd. "Hey! Slow down!" yelled Joe and runs outside, then leans against the wall. "I thought we were going to be goners." he said, catching his breath.
"Joe!" someone called his name.
"Huh?" asked Joe and looks to see TK. "Hey TK." he said.
"I thought you be in town with the others." said TK as they look across the water at the surrounding fog that covered the district.
"Yeah. Who knows what Myotismon's planning to do inside that fog." said Joe.
"What do we do now?" asked Patamon.
"Now it's time for action. We've gotta get there." said Joe.
"I know, but what will we use to get across?" asked TK.
"This is what." said Joe, winking confusing TK and Patamon. "The answer's right here." he tells them, setting down his duffel bag.
"Tada!" said Gomamon, popping out of the duffel bag.
"Gomamon!" exclaimed TK.
"You guys ready to give it a try?" asked Joe.
"You bet." said TK. In the pier house, Nancy was still looking for her son. "TK!" she called out. Outside, the two digidestined head down to the docks and just then, Joe's digivice begins to glow. "Gomamon digivolve to…Ikkakumon!"
Ikkakumon hops down into the water near the docks. "All aboard." said Ikkakumon as Joe, TK and Patamon got onto his back. "Look, it's another one." said a man, seeing the champion digimon in the water. Nancy pushes through to see that her youngest son on the back of Ikkakumon.
"TK." she said and walks down the dock.
"Uh oh." said TK as he sees his mom.
"TK, what are those things? Get down from there." said Nancy, walking along side Ikkakumon.
"Oh, it's ok mom. By the way, this is a friend of mine. His name is Joe." said TK.
"It's very nice to meet you ma'am. I was in TK's woodworking class at summer camp. He nearly cut off one of my fingers but that's a whole different story. I won't go into it right now." said Joe.
"Please stop, I don't understand." said Nancy.
"Don't worry, mom. The saw completely missed him so he wasn't hurt." said TK.
"That's not what I'm talking about." said Nancy after running out of dock.
"See you later mom. We'll be back with Matt and dad before you know it." said TK as they entered the fog and disappeared from Nancy's sight.
"Oh no, I've lost all of them now." said Nancy. At the Izumi residence, Yoshie was passed out on Izzy's bed with a rag on her forehead while Masami watches over him. Izzy was currently at his desk, listening to another email from Gennai. "So Izzy if you're listening to me, that means the digital barrier must have worked." said Gennai icon as Yoshie came around.
"Like a charm." said Izzy.
"The fog barrier surrounding the entire district is not a natural phenomenon. It's Myotismon's doing." Gennai icon said.
"Well duh." said Izzy.
"Yeah, but what do we do about it?" asked Tentomon.
"You're probably wondering when I'm going to tell you about it. The source of the fog is here. Attack its source and you should be able to bring down the barrier." said Gennai icon, pulling up an image of the TV station.
"That's a TV station. Let's get moving." said Izzy.
"Aye, aye." said Tentomon as Izzy gathers his stuff.
"They might come back. The safest thing you guys can do is stay right where you are. In here, the digital barrier will protect you. I'll be back here as soon as I can. So long." said Izzy, about to run out of the room.
"Wait. You've grown so much, Izzy and it's obvious that you can take care of yourself, but you'll always be my little boy. So please so, be careful." said Yoshie with tears in her eyes.
"I will. Don't worry about me, mom." said Izzy and exists the room.
"I'll make sure he's safe." said Tentomon, following after Izzy.
Meanwhile a lone Bakemon was sitting alone on a bench near the Ferris wheel. "Never a moment's rest. It's always grab her or seize him or terrorize that old lady. I'm one pooped spook." Bakemon thought to himself, not noticing Tai and Agumon. Just then, the two jumped onto the Bakemon and started punching him. "Okay, start talking. Where are you keeping everyone, you little creep?" asked Tai. Just then, Birdramon flies in with Sora and a frozen Lilymon.
"Hey Tai." said Sora.
"Sora, so you're alright?" asked Tai, but then sees the Bakemon run away. "Hey, come back." he yells after him.
"The convention center. Myotismon's holding them prisoner there." said Sora.
"Everyone in the whole district?" asked Tai as Sora lands on the ground in front of him.
"Yeah including Mimi. He's got your parents too." said Sora.
"I've just about had it with this guy." said Tai.
"Tai, what are you doing here?" asked Sora.
"You don't know? Kari's the 9th digidestined." said Tai.
"Who would have guessed? Is Kara and Labramon with her?" asked Sora.
"Yeah. I want you to hook up with her and Matt. They're in a warehouse by Aqua City." said Tai.
"Okay." said Sora.
"Let's go, Agumon." said Tai and runs past her towards the convention center.
"Aqua City Birdramon, step on it." said Sora, holding onto her champion digimon's feet.
Unknown to them, Phantomon appeared on the Ferris wheel and heard every word that both Tai and Sora were saying. "The plot thickens." said Phantomon, watching them. Inside the TV station, Hiroaki was typing on a computer. "The satellite dish won't respond. Rats! Come on, there's gotta be some way to communicate with the outside world." said Hiroaki. Meanwhile, Izzy and Tentomon had just arrived outside the TV station.
"Wow! I had no idea TV stations were so big. If I'm going to destroy it, I should digivolve." said Tentomon.
"Hold on for a minute. For all we know, there might still be some people inside. We better check it out." said Izzy and they head inside.
Meanwhile at the convention center, Mimi was sitting in the middle of a group of crying kids. Outside, Tai and Agumon had just arrived. "Hold on, Mimi. I'll get you out of there. I promised Kari." Tai thought to himself as he and Agumon hide underneath a walkway.
Meanwhile, Matt was talking with Kari and Kara to pass the time. "I never knew that you and Kari would be identical." said Gabumon, looking at Kara first and then Kari.
"That's what I said when I first met Kari, Gabumon." said Labramon.
"You guys never asked me if Kari and I looked alike or not. All you ever heard me talk about is that Kari was my twin sister and that she was older than me. Only Sora and Mimi knew that we're identical." said Kara.
"Wizardmon, huh? Is that your digimon's name?" asked Matt.
"No, no. Mine is Gatomon. Wizardmon is like her best friend, but he's gone now. He got captured by the bad digimon. It must be awful losing your best friend. My mommy got captured by them too. But not my daddy! Do you think my daddy got away?" asked Kari, with a hopeful look. "He's all right, don't you think? Mommy will be too 'cause Tai's gonna recuse her, right?" she asked.
"I think daddy got away and he's looking for us." said Kara.
"You don't know that Kara. Uh…anyway sure he will, Kari. But let's remember, Tai's just one kid and he's fighting hundreds." said Matt. Both Kara and Kari looked sad, grabbed onto each other and started to cry. "I want mommy to come back!" they said crying.
"Nice work." said Gabumon, sarcastically. "Do it with compassion. Can't you see they're worried about their family? You're worried about yours, aren't you?" he then asks Matt.
Joe, TK and Patamon were still riding Ikkakumon through the fog. "We're almost there. Once we get past the bridge, we'll be through the barrier." said Joe.
"Right." said TK. as the two digidestined and their digimon made their way towards the bridge, they heard the sound of growling. "Is your tummy rumbling or did I hear something?" asked Joe.
"Huh? Like what?" asked TK. they then looked up to see two glowing blue eyes in the distance. "Wait, what's up there by the bridge?" asked Joe. Just then, a serpent digimon who looked like Seadramon, but this digimon was red with red hair and a helmet. The boys then screamed in shock. "I knew this was too easy. That's MegaSeadramon. The old Seadramon was bad enough, but compared to this ultimate version, it was just an angry guppy." said Patamon.
MegaSeadramon then roars as he tighten his hold on the bridge, causing half of the bridge to break off. "Oh great, we'll probably get blamed for this." said Joe.
"Harpoon Torpedo!" shouted Ikkakumon, firing three torpedoes at MegaSedramon's face.
"Bulls eye! Right on the button!" yelled Joe, thinking that it did the job, but when the smoke cleared, it revealed that MegaSeadramon was unharmed.
"Thunder Javelin!" shouted MegaSeadramon, firing a blue lightening blast at Ikkakumon, causing Joe and TK to fall into the water.
"TK? Joe? TK?" Patamon asked, flying over the water looking for them. Just then, TK surfaces and struggles to stay above the water. "Help me! I can't swim so good, Patamon!" yelled TK. Patamon grabs his hand and tries to pull him up but TK was too heavy which caused him to go back under water. "Matt. Brother. I need you." thought TK. A pair of arms grabs TK and pulls him up to the surface and places him on a piece of wood.
"What was that?" TK asked.
"Grab on!" said Joe.
"Joe." said TK.
"Just hang on to that and you'll be ok. I wouldn't want your mom to worry about you. You're just a kid. I'm responsible for you." said Joe as he goes under.
"Joe? Joe!" yelled TK. Joe continues to sink under but his crest of Reliability glows brightly. His digivice then turns completely silver and his crest shoots out of his tag. "Ikkakumon digivolve to…" Ikkakumon was engulfed in water and once he rose out, he had completely changed. He resembled a giant grey and orange walrus wearing a turtle shell with spikes coming out of it with a red string like tail, a large metal hammer and a large horn that absorbed the electricity. "Zudomon!"
"Wow! Who's that, Patamon?" asked TK.
"Don't worry, he's one of ours. That's Zudomon-he's the ultimate version of Ikkakumon. I was wondering when he would show up." said Patamon. Zudomon then picks up TK and Joe from the water. "Joe." said TK as Joe's crest shoots a beam, cutting through the fog.
"It's cutting through the barrier." said Joe.
"Thunder Javelin!" shouted MegaSeadramon, firing his attack at them.
"I don't think so." said Zudomon and uses his horn to absorb the attack.
"Yippee!" cheered TK.
"That's my digimon." said Joe.
"Vulcan's Hammer!" shouted Zudomon, slamming his hammer into MegaSeadramon, sending him into the water, sending him back to the Digital world.
"Way to go!" cheered Joe.
"Hey, we better get going before the fog bank closes up again." said TK.
"You're right. Engines full ahead, Zudomon." said Joe and Zudomon makes his way through the opening.
Meanwhile at the TV station, Izzy and Tentomon were inside, making their way through the hallways of the station. "Okay, keep your eyes peeled. Now, if I were a fog barrier generator, where would I be?" asked Izzy, but then a Bakemon shows up down the hall. "Get back. Back up, we'll go the other way." he said but then another Bakemon shows up. "Not that way either. They've got us surrounded." said Izzy but doesn't see the door behind him open and someone grabs him and Tentomon, pulling then inside.
"Keep quiet." said Hiroaki, covering Izzy's mouth.
"Pretty boring, huh?" asked Bakemon.
"You said it." said the other Bakemon.
"Who are you?" Izzy asked quietly.
Back on the water, Joe, TK, Patamon and Zudomon continued to move through the fog towards the district. "I can't see anything in here." said TK.
"I just hope that we don't end up going in the totally wrong direction." said Joe.
"Take me to Gatomon. please." said a voice.
"Huh? Who's there?" asked Patamon. Just then, Wizardmon appears out of the water and on a log. "I'm Wizardmon. Must find Gatomon. important." said a weak Wizardmon.
"Not so fast there. Aren't you one of Myotismon's henchmen?" asked Joe.
"He looks beat up pretty bad." said TK.
"Gotta give Gatomon this." said Wizardmon, showing them the real crest of Light.
"Look, he's got somebody's crest." said TK.
"Yes, it belongs to the 9th child." said Wizardmon before passing out.
"The 9th child!" yelled Joe and TK, both in shock.
At the warehouse in Aqua City, Matt's digivice beeped, signaling that the two hours Tai had said were up. "You should have been back by now. Where is he?" asked Matt.
"Hey, is anybody there?" a voice outside said. They gasped and looked over to see that Birdramon was with Sora and Lillymon. "Sora! What's up?" asked Matt as he and Gabumon ran out.
"Matt! Thank goodness. Myotismon's rounded up the entire district. He's holding everybody at the convention center." said Sora as she hopped off her digimon.
"So what do we do now?" asked Matt.
"I have a suggestion." someone said. They looked up to see Phantomon on the bridge above them. "I don't like the sound of his voice." said Labramon.
"You see, I've never understood why the master's wasting all his time searching for the 9th child, but it would be so much easier just to destroy you all." said Phantomon.
"I don't want to be destroyed." said Kara.
"I don't prefer three on one so I'll even the odds." said Phantomon as the ground starts shaking and out pops a dinosaur digimon. "Say hello to Tuskmon and watch out. Avoiding his razor-sharp horns is no easy 'tusk'. Sorry." he said.
"Here's the second member of our triple battle team." he said as the sky swirled and a large green bug digimon with sickles for hands appeared. "Snimon: a deadly praying mantis digimon, which is so much appropriate because you're all about to become his pray." he said as the green freaks stood in front of them.
"Watch out!" yelled Sora as Snimon and Tuskmon got closer.
"Gabumon!" cried Matt.
"Gabumon digivolve to…Garurumon!" Garurumon then battles with Tuskmon.
"Amazing. Hey, you're going the wrong way." said Matt as Garurumon was punched by Tuskmon and sent flying over the warehouse they were in, landing in the lake.
"Shadow Scythe!" said Phantomon, making Labramon cry out in pain as the phantom threw out his chain and wrapped it around his neck, trying to slash him with his scythe next.
"Get back!" yelled Sora, grabbing a long stick and ran at the phantom to help Matt out.
Sora was then surrounded by red light, making her digivice turn red and the crest of love shot out from its tag. "Birdramon digivolve to…Garudamon!"
Garudamon went after Snimon, but were both hit by his Twin Sickles and were sent back into the wall of the warehouse, Kari watching all of this with sad eyes. "Kind of chokes you up, doesn't it?" joked Phantomon, pulling harder on his chain around Matt's neck.
"Stop it now! THAT'S ENOUGH!" Kari yelled.
Meanwhile Joe and TK fished Wizardmon out of the water and the crest of Light glowed brightly. "What's it doing?" TK asked as Wizardmon opened his eyes.
Back at the warehouse, all the fights stopped as everyone looked at Kari. "It's me you want. I'm the 9th child. If you stop hurting my friends, I'll come with you quietly. Wherever you want." said Kari.
"Kari, don't. You don't have to do this." said Kara.
"I have to, Kara. It's the only way." said Kari.
"What a refreshingly helpful attitude. It's a deal." said Phantomon as Snimon and Tuskmon got off of Garudamon. The chain around Matt's neck was gone, making him drop down to his knees as he tried to get his breath back and Garurumon came back after he got out of the water.
"I'm ready." said Kari as an orb appeared around her.
"Hurry, Matt! Kara! Stop her!" cried Sora as she held Lillymon. "Don't let her do this." Kara was too scared to move from her digimon. "No, Kari! You don't know what you're doing!" yelled Matt as the orb was lifted into the air.
"Kari, come back!" yelled Kara, reaching out for her twin sister.
"This is just great. What are we going to do now?" asked Sora, grabbing Kara and pulling her into her side.
"I don't know. Tai is going to be so mad at me." said Matt.
