A/N: Bare with me. This is a long auther's note but a necessary one to make what I did understandable. To make my story a story and not the cluster fuck of fights that was the real ending of Bleach I have retroactively changed some canon material to make it... good..er. The canon becomes a mess for those who didn't finish the manga. These changes include:

1. Yhwach has the power to see the future, but he cannot deus ex change it to suit his plans. This is the type of over powered ability that ultimately you have to deus ex machina yourself a way to defeat, and it makes for a bad villain and a stupid ending.

2. The characters Loyd Loyd and Royd Loyd have become one person (Loyd) with their powers combined because having twins with the same but not quite the same shape shifting powers in the original was stupid.

3. Ichigo does not have God clothes that can break the millennia old protective barriers around the Soul Palace for an absurdly specific amount of time. I am going to go with the original explanation of the barrier dropping down from around the Soul Palace to protect Seireitei when it is attacked. It's got an obvious built in weakness for the Quincy to take advantage of, but it is less ridiculous.

4. Yes other battles will be going on at the same time as the ones Ichigo is fighting, but Ichigo is the main character and fights need to be in service of the narrative and not a verses fanfiction that somehow got published as cannon material. (God the manga became such a cluster fuck of "Why?".)

5. Yhwach and Jugram Haschwalth switching powers from day to night... I'm not even sure why this was a thing. If it was supposed to give Ichigo and the others a weakness to exploit in battle it failed miserably. If it was supposed to do anything else, I can't figure it out.

So story...

Yamamoto was not a happy man. He had taken Kurosaki Ichigo's words at face value after seeing the apparition of his oldest enemy standing before him in his seat of power, but for Yhwach to have somehow learned to use shadows to create another realm within a realm for him to rule had seemed impossible. He had been too confident in his own fortifications, and now his Shinigami were paying the price.

The Young Byakuya had already lost his bankai to those strange medallions the Quincy held. It was now being used against them. The multiple swords formed by the cherry blossoms slipping through the best defenses. The only saving grace was that the Quincy wielding the bankai was unfamiliar with it and was clumsy when he attacked. Over reaching to guide the blossoms had already gotten the tall thin man with a mask cut several times. Thankfully he had not figured out how to form the barrier with Zenbonzakura yet.

Yamamoto's fingers itched to draw his own zanpakutou and burn his enemies to ash. He gripped his staff tightly and stood still knowing that even his less powerful shikai Ryuujin Jakka would do more harm than good in their current situation. He would burn everyone in the hall alive, including his own men. He watched as the other taichou tried to push back the Sternritter to reach open ground where their shikai would do less harm to each other.

Yamamoto growled in frustration.

"Things not going as planned?"

Yamamoto drew his sword as he turned toward the door that lead into his office. A man dressed in a white suit with a cape and a blue Quincy cross across the chest stood in the door. The man held up his hands in surrender.

"I am not here to fight you," Ryuuken said calmly.

"How did you get in here? Urahara put up wards to keep Quincy out of here." Yamamoto demanded. He narrowed his eyes at the man looking for any strange modifications in clothing that would hint at how he fought. Quincy were very good at their surprise tricks. His eyes widened when he noted the modern rifle slung across the man's back.

"I came in through your office window." Ryuuken sneered slightly at the door. "It seems Yhwach's men haven't found the back door yet. Ichigo was right. These are not the best Yhwach has."

Yamamoto did not lower his sword. "You are the Quincy that Kurosaki Fukutaichou mentioned. Did Urahara give you anything?"

Ryuuken nodded slowly. So that was what the weird coin was for. He thought he had recognized some old kidou spells carved on it. "I know that you can't take the chance that I am who I say I am," He said leaning casually against the door frame. "I wont help or hinder your efforts until Ichigo finally shows up." He studied the hall. It was actually well fortified. The heavy outer doors were still standing after taking what looked like a fire blast and the taichou were switching off fighting at the door.

Ryuuken's lip curled as what looked like a long stretched out mouth tried to take a bite out of the woman with long hair braided, oddly enough, down her chest fighting off a young Chinese man using reishi claws. She casually stabbed strait down into the mouth with her sword while blocking the reishi claws with a fist full of kunai. The owner of the mouth let out a high pitch shriek, and the mouth retracted. The others stood ready to take their place at the door to conserve their energy.

Ryuuken frowned. Why weren't they trying to fight their way out of the hall? The big man who was tied up from head to toe and left lying on the floor was also a puzzle that he could not solve. The man certainly didn't look like a Quincy, so he couldn't be a prisoner.

He took a risk and pointed at the big man. "Who is he?"

Yamamoto glared turned from watching the door to glare at the Quincy. Then he sighed. "Kenpachi Taichou, much like my shikai should not be used in close quarters. Unlike myself he has no restraint."

Ryuuken smirked at the irony considering how this man had dealt with the Quincy in the past. "This is the time you choose to use restraint?" He asked. "It seems a bit late for that."

Yamamoto decided that he really didn't like this man. His hand tightened on his staff. "And what would you have me do? Burn down Seireitei to save it?" He demanded.

Ryuuken pointed at Kenpachi, who had already shredded a few of his bonds while they were talking. "Set him loose," He said.

A/N: Yes this is really really short and late. The Holidays are always busy and free time is very much in short supply. So I wont be updating the first week of January. The story will continue with an update in early February if all goes as planned. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
