"Has he called you? Or even texted?" Sandra asked.
She had taken Yvonne out for ice cream because her friend has been in a sad state all week. Yvonne was smiling and laughing but Sandra could tell that her friend of eleven years was sad.
"He doesn't reply back to my texts and doesn't call me either" Yvonne replied.
"I'm sorry, Yvonne. I really can't apologise. I'll tell Castiel to-"
"No. I don't think Castiel would have done something like that without a reason" Yvonne said.
"You think?"
"That day, Terry was being really annoying and Castiel was trying to keep his anger in. There must have been a reason why he suddenly blew up"
"What reason would that be? Castiel hardly ever acts reasonably. He always bosses me around and does what he wants. If he really had a reason, I'm going to get it out of him" Sandra said.
"What are you planning now?"
"Just wait and watch" Sandra replied.
The F4 looked up from their books when Sandra entered the lounge.
"Hey, Sandra!" Dake waved.
"What's up?" Nathaniel grinned.
"I came because I have something to tell Castiel, so please pass on this message" Sandra said.
"He's right there!" Dake pointed to Castiel whose gaze had not moved from the book he was reading. Sandra did not say a word and did not even glance at Castiel.
"She said she wants to talk" Dake took up the position of referee.
"Tell her I don't have anything to say to her" Castiel replied.
"That's what he said" Dake said.
"Would you please ask him what country's law it is to beat someone up for no reason and not apologise?" Sandra growled.
"Hey, did you get into trouble again?" Nathaniel asked Castiel.
"She's asking you what country's law it is" Dake said.
"Tell her it was a waste to even use my fist on that bastard" Castiel replied.
"He's saying its a waste" Dake reported. "Until when do I have to keep doing this?"
"What's up with you two?" Nathaniel asked.
"Please deliver this to him very well, because this is my last warning. Thanks to his high and mighty fist, my best friend is crying. If he doesn't apologise then it's really over" Sandra said.
"A thank you wouldn't even be enough for getting rid of a piece of trash like that for her. Tell her I won't apologise even if I die" Castiel said.
"What happened to Yvonne?" Nathaniel asked.
"Okay, I get it, Castiel. I know that it was impossible for you to come down to my level. But I don't understand why my friend, Yvonne, needs to suffer the consequences of your actions. Castiel, don't act like you know me. We're done"
"Sandra" Dake spoke up.
"Sorry for interrupting your study session" Sandra turned and walked out of the lounge.
"You aren't going after her?" Nathaniel sacked.
"What exactly did you do this time?" Dake asked.
Lysander, who was silent throughout this whole debacle, stood up and walked out of the lounge. Castiel lifted up his glass and threw it against the wall in frustration, making it shatter to a million pieces.
"Achoo!"
Sandra sniffled as she walked out of the girls locker rooms. She stopped in surprise when she spotted Lysander waiting for her, dressed up in the warmest clothes he could find. Sandra grinned and headed towards him. He smiled and led her to their little stairwell corner. Sandra sank down on the steps while Lysander leaned against the wall.
"I told you that you would get sick if you practised in the cold" Lysander teased.
Sandra pouted and blew her nose noisily into a tissue.
"You must be stressing out a lot at the moment" Lysander commented.
"How did you know that I'm stressing?" Sandra asked with another sneeze.
"You always practise when something bad happens. And something bad did happen. So I found you here" Lysander replied.
"If you're here to talk about Castiel, I'm not going to talk about it"
"Did I say I was going to take about Castiel?" Lysander asked.
"If he had done something wrong to me, I would have yelled at him and it would have been over. It involves Yvonne, so I can't let this go that easily. She tried to help us by doing this" Sandra said.
"We're talking about Castiel right now, right?"
"Anyways, I'm not going to forgive him easily this time. If Yvonne and Terry never make up because of this, how am I going to look at my best friend in the face?"
"You said you weren't going to talk about him, but you keep doing it" Lysander pointed out.
Sandra sneezed yet again and pulled out another tissue to blow her nose. Lysander sighed and pulled out a paper bag.
"I was hoping you wouldn't need this, but I guess you do" Lysander held out the paper bag and Sandra took it. Inside were numerous medicines and antibiotics specifically for winter colds.
"They say if you don't dry your hair right after a shower, you'll catch a cold. I know someone who is doing it wrong every single day" Lysander teased.
"Lysander" Sandra pouted but that was ruined since another sneeze literally flew out of her mouth.
"One more thing. When a guy is in the company of a girl he likes, he won't do anything 'just because they feel like it'. There is always a reason. I'm saying this out of experience, so trust me" Lysander said in a more serious voice.
Sandra looked up at him quietly and he ruffled her hair affectionately. He waved goodbye before heading down the stairs to his parked motorbike. Before he put on his helmet, he reflected back on his words. He suddenly remembered the day after the whole kiss fiasco and Nathaniel had come to visit him.
"I know you're here to yell at me" Lysander said.
"No matter what you did, I always understood the reason why. Honestly, there were times that I couldn't stand Castiel but that didn't mean I would do what you did" Nathaniel said
"You never really do give me a talking to"
"Why did you do it?"
"Because I felt like it"
"Castiel likes Sandra"
"And I knew it"
He sighed and then climbed onto his motorbike. That time was now behind him. There was no point in remembering what had been before.
"Are you sure this is the place?" Sandra asked.
She had decided to take Lysander's advice and track down Terry herself to find out the full story since Castiel didn't want to tell her anything. Yvonne had also decided to come along since she wanted to ask why Terry had not contacted her in two weeks despite all the phone calls and texts she had sent.
"He works in a club around here as a bartender. Today is supposed to be his shift" Yvonne replied.
"There he is" Sandra pointed. She recognised Terry a mile away because of his red dyed hair. However he wasn't alone.
"Who is that?" Yvonne asked.
Terry was walking arm in arm with another women. She was beautiful and dressed from head to toe in expensive clothes. Her makeup and hair was effortlessly done. Sandra took Yvonne's hand and they began to stealthily follow the couple down the street. Terry's obnoxious voice was so loud that he could be heard easily and the two girls could hear what he was saying.
"You know that high school chick I was seeing just for fun? I went out on a double date with her and the guy who came was a total rich guy" Terry said loudly.
"He's rich? You should introduce him to me" The woman said.
"You can forget about that. He seems like he has a lot of money but his taste in girls in terrible. The girl he was with didn't look like a high schooler. She has the body of an elementary student. Do you know how poor and shabby those girls looked? They're both waitresses"
"Which club?"
"Not even a club. Just regular waitresses at a small restaurant" Terry replied.
"And one of them has a boyfriend who is rich? Is she pretty?" The woman asked.
"Pretty my ass. I told him I'd introduce him to a hot girl like you, he punched me out of nowhere" Terry replied.
Terry grinned as he picked up his phone.
"Yo. What's up? Yeah I'm at the skating rink. I'm a little busy playing with a couple of tacky kids. I'll be there soon, just wait for me. Bye!" Terry hung up and then sidled up to Castiel.
"Hey Cassie, why don't we ditch those two and go have some real fun?"
"What?" Castiel asked.
"You can't expect to get some tonight with that Sandy girl. Actually, she doesn't even look like a girl. Did she blackmail you to go out with her?"
Castiel glared at him and Terry blanched.
"I think you could do better than that" Terry said.
"What are you saying?" Castiel asked.
"Why don't we ditch this joint and go to a club? If we go there, we can meet hot chicks who are way better than those stinking-"
Terry fell against the ground as Castiel punched him right in the face.
"If you keep on insulting my girlfriend, I'll make sure you'll never be able to eat anything from that mouth of yours" Castiel threatened before raining down a series of punches on that smug bastard's face.
"Is that true?" Sandra's voice rang out, making Terry and that woman turn around in surprise.
"What are you guys doing here?" Terry asked.
"I'm asking if it's true" Sandra repeated.
"What are you going to do if it's true?" Terry challenged.
"Terry, who are they?" The woman asked.
"Do you think I would know them at the level I am at?" Terry scoffed. Yvonne frowned and then glared at Terry.
"What's your reason for not calling Yvonne back?" Sandra asked.
"Are you stalker? My inbox is full of your silly messages. You're a complete nuisance" Terry replied.
Sandra lost it then and kicked Terry right in the face with her famous spinning back kicks. The woman shrieked and Yvonne stepped back. Sandra punched Terry at least twice times before stepping back.
"One for Yvonne and one is for my boyfriend. If you ever appear in front of Yvonne again, you're dead" Sandra said. She turned and grabbed her best friend's hand before dragging her away from the scene.
"What a bastard! I can't believe I didn't punch him the first time I met him" Sandra complained.
"I'm relieved. At least we know now that Castiel didn't do anything wrong" Yvonne pointed out.
"Yvonne!" Sandra wrapped her arms around her friend and hugged her tight.
"I'm okay. You have to go apologise to Castiel" Yvonne said.
"Will you fine by yourself?" Sandra asked.
"Yeah, go" Yvonne replied.
Sandra smiled and then hurried off to catch the next bus. Yvonne sighed as she watched her friend go and then began walking home on her own.
"Mom, please calm down. Act reasonably for once!" Nathaniel begged.
"Nathaniel, this is the last time I can tolerate this. Your father cheated on me so many times that I'm sick of it. I don't mind even taking pills and committing suicide!"
"Mom! I'll deal with Dad. Please don't do anything rash. Amber and I need you"
Nathaniel hung up and then told his driver to take him to his father's studio. Once there, he went straight up to his father's private office. He couldn't count how many times his father had cheated. He scoffed and realised how much he and his father were alike. Both of them played with women like they were toys. Nathaniel spotted the unlocked door and then pushed it open an inch.
"You are so beautiful" Nathaniel heard his father say from inside.
He peeked in and saw his father lock lips with a blond woman who was more than willing to kiss him despite the gold ring on his father's left hand. Nathaniel gritted his teeth and pulled away from the door. His father was never going to change. He headed down the stairs and then sat down waiting in the lobby. After half an hour, the blond woman came down the stairs, obviously done with her romantic tryst.
"Excuse me"
She stopped and glanced at Nathaniel who stood up. Nathaniel smiled, his dimples appearing immediately making him look even more handsome. The blond woman stopped and flushed as Nathaniel reached out to rub the smudged lipstick off.
"Thank you for that" The woman said with a smile and then turned.
"You're the fourth" Nathaniel said.
"What?" The woman asked.
"You're his fourth girlfriend this month. You're too pretty for that" Nathaniel replied.
He walked out, leaving the woman staring after him. Once he was in his car, he pulled out a tissue and wiped his fingers of the sticky lipgloss. As the car got into the roads, he spotted someone rather familiar. It was Yvonne who was walking by herself looking rather depressed. Nathaniel sighed and then told his driver to stop the car. He got out and walked towards her.
Yvonne had slumped against the wall with tears running down her cheeks. Nathaniel stopped right in front of her and she looked up at him, eyes full of tears.
"Many girls look pretty when they cry. Unfortunately you're not one of them" Nathaniel teased.
Yvonne burst into tears again. Nathaniel winced and realised many people on the street were staring at them as if he had made her cry. Nathaniel grabbed her hand and dragged her into his car.
Lysander glanced up from his guitar as Sandra entered the lounge. Castiel was seated on his armchair with his back to her and Dake smirked as he noticed the apologetic look on her face.
"So did you make up with Sandra?" Lysander asked.
"Make up? I'm not even going to bother even if she begs on her hands and knees" Castiel replied.
"What exactly happened? You must have done something wrong" Dake said.
"I went on a double or triple date, whatever it is. I withstood that bastard and his comments for the whole afternoon. I got rid of him because he was being rude and annoying. All I did were good deeds" Castiel replied.
"Then you won't agree to meet Sandra even if she asks?" Lysander asked.
"I'm saying I won't overlook this that easily" Castiel replied.
"I don't think it'll work, Sandra. It's better for you to go home" Dake said.
Castiel turned and nearly fell off the armchair when he realised that Sandra was right behind him. Sandra smiled sadly and then turned around to leave.
"Wait, wait, wait!" Castiel nearly tripped over the couch in his hurry to stop her.
"If you came here then at least tell me what you wanted to say" Castiel said.
"I was only thinking about myself. I didn't think you'd be that mad. Sorry" Sandra said quietly.
"I'm not accepting that kind of an apology. If everything was solved by an apology-"
"Then why would there be police?" Sandra finished.
Castiel smirked. "So you do know".
"Then what do you want?"
"Three wishes"
"Wishes? Am I a genie?" Sandra asked.
"Otherwise I won't forgive you" Castiel replied.
"Okay but you only have a minute to give me all three wishes" Sandra said. "Starting now!"
"Hey! You can't do that!"
"I will! 10, 11, 12, 13, 14..."
"Hey! Stop that! Sit down!" Castiel said. Sandra sat but continued counting.
"37, 38, 39, 40"
"Stand up!" Castiel said. She stood up.
"Only one wish left. 50, 51, 52, 53, 54... 60!"
"I got it! I have my last wish!" Castiel declared.
"What is it?" Sandra asked.
They didn't even bother looking at Lysander and Dake who were trying to keep their laughs under control.
"Say, 'Castiel I'm sho showwy!' in a cutesy puppy way" Castiel replied.
"What?" Sandra asked.
"Man this is too much!" Dake laughed.
"Come on. Say it" Castiel said with a smirk.
Sandra floundered for a bit before sighing.
"Castiel I'm... Forget it! To hell with your stupid apology!" she screamed before stalking out of the lounge.
"You should have just accepted her apology" Dake said as Lysander began laughing.
"Come on!" Castiel sat back down on the armchair and kicked the table.
Yvonne sat quietly as Nathaniel brought out a beautiful porcelain tea set. She wouldn't trust herself to even hold it but Nathaniel was handling it just fine.
"It looks rather weak doesn't it?" Nathaniel asked.
Yvonne nodded and Nathaniel took a cup and threw it onto the floor. Yvonne jumped and then realised that the cup didn't even have a scratch on it.
"It's really strong. Do you know what it went through to become like that?" Nathaniel looked up at her.
Yvonne shook her head.
"It got rolled out, stepped on and cut. It bore 1300 degree heat to become like that. But that's not the end of it. If it still doesn't look right by the time it comes out, it is immediately destroyed. In order to become stronger and find something that is truly yours, there are things you have to go through. Just like what you went through today" Nathaniel explained.
"I understand what you're trying to say. Thank you" Yvonne said.
"Well then, should we go?"
"Where?"
"I've been having a bad day as well just like you. We should let loose. Let's go"
Nathaniel's idea of fun was to go clubbing. It wasn't exactly something Yvonne would do but once Nathaniel put her in the stylist's chair, she felt a thrill of adrenaline she had never felt before. The stylist curled her hair and applied light makeup that made her look soft and beautiful. Nathaniel had already picked out a dress which was a salmon pink backless dress that Yvonne would never have worn in a million years. However, when she walked out of the dressing room, the smile that Nathaniel sent her gave her enough confidence to keep her head high and walk like a queen.
They entered the club but Yvonne stopped short when she noticed Terry and that woman from this afternoon. Terry looked more than fine as the blond woman cuddled up to him. Nathaniel noticed Yvonne's stare and then deduced that this man was responsible for her tears. He smirked before walking up to the woman. The woman immediately threw Terry off and grabbed Nathaniel's hand.
Terry scoffed and then looked around. He spotted a beautiful girl wearing a pretty pink dress and headed over to her.
"Excuse me!" Terry and Yvonne glanced up at the stage where Nathaniel was holding a mic.
"There's someone in this room who had stolen my heart tonight. I dedicate this song to her" Nathaniel said before taking the saxophone to play the song.
Yvonne smiled as she lost herself to the loving song. It was beautiful and she could see many girls in the club nearly swoon at the handsome man. As the song came to a close, Terry walked over to Yvonne.
"It's pretty boring in here isn't it? Why don't you go out with me?" Terry asked.
Yvonne turned to him and he took a step back.
"Yvonne? What are you doing here? Are you here to see me? You should have dressed like this on our date" Terry said.
"Yvonne" Nathaniel came into view. Yvonne hadn't even realised that he had gotten off the stage.
"Do you know this man?".
Yvonne glanced up at Terry and shook her head. "No, I don't know him"
"Yvonne, what the hell are you saying?" Terry asked.
"The girl who has stolen my heart and won't give it back, is this girl right here" Nathaniel said loud enough for the whole club to hear. The girls in the club groaned and moaned.
"Yvonne" Yvonne looked up at Nathaniel who was holding his hand out. "Stop teasing me and come to me". Yvonne stared at him and then took his hand. Nathaniel smiled and wrapped an arm to lead Yvonne out.
Yvonne sent him a shy smile and Nathaniel chuckled.
"We're just pretending but I actually enjoyed the look on that idiot's face" Nathaniel said.
"Thank you" Yvonne said.
"You're always welcome"
"Idiot. Who does he think he is calling me out at this time? What does he think of himself?" Sandra stopped short when she saw the the entire park decorated in Christmas tree lights.
"You're always moved by such trivial things" Castiel teased as he came into view.
"You did all this?" Sandra asked.
"Yes, you like it?"
"Yeah, it's pretty. Like Christmas" Sandra replied with a smile.
"Christmas? What's so great about it?"
"You don't like Christmas?" Sandra asked.
"I don't have any good memories of Christmas" Castiel admitted.
"We wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year!"
Ten year old Castiel sighed as the maids continued to serenade him with Christmas carols. The butler entered and placed a tray full of gifts and a cake made specially for today. Castiel ignored all the gifts and took the cards. His mother and father were never home for Christmas and so he always got cards with money for him to spend.
Castiel placed the cards aside and upended the cake, making the singing maids fall silent and ran out of the room.
"So that's how it was?" Sandra asked.
Castiel nodded and slumped over on the swing he was seated on.
"Oh yeah, what happened to the baked salmon I helped your mom make?" Castiel asked.
"If someone heard you, they would probably faint in shock thinking that you actually cooked something" Sandra replied.
"I want to eat your mom's food again"
"Really?"
"Yeah. I want to go to McDonalds and get a happy meal and eat your mom's food. I never really knew what a real family was like but after seeing your family, I think I understand a little now. Can I come over again?" Castiel glanced over at her.
"When did you ever ask permission?" Sandra said sarcastically.
Castiel stood and knelt in front of her. "I'm not joking. I want to come to your house. Every day"
Sandra smiled and then saw him leaned up. Her eyes fluttered shut as his lips pressed against hers softly in a soft kiss.
