"What the hell?" Amy gasped as she took in the sight of her changed best friend.
Maya sighed,
"I know. But, I mean this is me now." She slowly began transforming back into the Maya everyone knew.
"And the man Sebastian did this to you?" Steve asked, his hands in tight fists as he stared at Maya.
"Yes. Knowing that I worked at SHIELD and already had advanced training, he thought I would be a good addition to his team. However, I wasn't a mutant. So, he took the matters of my DNA into his own hands." Maya slowly told him, her eyes slightly more golden then usual.
"Bastard!" Dean mumbled under his breath.
"Is there any way to change you back?" Sam questioned.
"If there was, I would be myself right now."
The SuperWhoVengers sat in an awkward silence. Finally Tony got up and put his arm around Maya,
"Well since your back, I say we go do something fun, like I don't know...THROW A PARTY!" He shouted, and everyone gave into cheers and began frantically talking about it.
"Oh! We all need to look awesome! I'll get the makeup stuff!" Amy squealed.
"Not again." Steve muttered and slowly backed away from all the people.
"Don't worry Steve, there's not gonna be a party." Maya told him, loud enough for everyone to hear.
"WHYYYY?!" Most of the SuperWhoVengers shouted, very sad looks on their face.
"Because I'm not staying. I'm going back to Charles and the children."
"But, here is where your family is. We need you Maya." Clint said, taking her hand and looking up at her sadly.
"Yeah, you can't just come and then go back." Dean complained looking at her sadly.
"I can and I have to. I love you guys so much, but they're my family too and they need me just as much as you guys do. Maybe even more." Maya whispered the last sentence, not looking at anyone.
"B-but we've been through so much! You can't just leave us! What if we need the Avengers?!" Rose yelled.
"Then The Doctor will come get me and I'll help you."
"So that's it? You're just going to leave us?" Tasha asked her. And for once, she let her emotions show.
"I'll visit I promise. I just can't stay with you forever. I have a good life with Charles and I can't leave him!" Maya argued.
"Better than this life, Miss Barton?" Thor slowly asked and Maya just stood there speechless.
"You still work for SHIELD!" Steve suddenly shouted, "You can't quit! They've showed me the technology that they have there and if you quit they have ways of making you forget."
That was when Luna finally broke down, rushing to her friend and grabbing her hand,
"Maya, please stay! You can't forget me again! You can't! You don't understand what it's like!" she sobbed, "When you forgot…" she didn't have to finish talking for Maya immediately wrapped her arms around the small demon.
"I'll stay for the rest of the day then I AM going back." The ginger grumbled and hugged back her best friend.
"So… can we still have a party?" Tony asked her.
"No. But we could hang out or play games or-" Maya began before Luna interrupted,
"OOOOH! WE SHOULD PLAY A GAME! I KNOW A GAME WE COULD PLAY… MONOPOLY!"
"But can't only 8 people can play." Dean asked the large group.
Cas appeared with Monopoly in his hands,
"Yes, that is correct Dean" He stated and the game was suddenly set up on the coffee table.
"How the hell did you do that?" Sam questioned the angel curiously and sat by the table.
"I'm an angel of the lord." Castiel simply replied like his answer solved every problem in the world.
"JARVIS make teams." Tony told his computerized butler and JARVIS replied about 10 seconds later.
"The teams are Luna and Loki, Dean and Maya, Amelia and Rory, Clara and The Doctor, Clint and Natasha, Pepper and Tony, Thor and Sam, and John and Rose." He told everyone and they all looked at their partners.
"ALRIGHT! LETS PLAY!" Tony shouted and sat down with Pepper closely beside him.
"Friendships are about to be broken." Maya whispered and sat next to Dean.
"Now who's going to roll first?" Clara innocently asked the group.
"ME!" A number of people shouted and grabbed for the dice in the middle of the board.
After some hitting, kicking, and biting, Luna ended up with the dice in her small hands.
"YAY! OHMYGOSH I GOT THE DICE! LOKI LOOOOOOOOK!" She squealed with happiness and rolled them scoring an perfect 12.
"YES BITCHES DOUBLES!" She yelled.
2 hours later
"SUCK IT!" Maya yelled at Tony finally bankrupting him and winning the game with Dean.
"Damn it." Tony mumbled and started cleaning the board with Pepper.
"Shit that crazy." Dean told Maya and she nodded in agreement,
"I'm pretty sure Rose was going to throw the board at the Doctor."
"I'm surprised you didn't" Dean replied and they burst out laughing.
Maya looked at the time and saw it was 9:47 pm. She sighed and looked up at all her wonderful friends. Smiling and laughing and dancing to some strange music.
"You know they haven't been nearly this happy since you've been gone. Heck even Cas was moping around without you." Dean told her and sadly looked at her.
"I wish I could stay, but I can't. I mean come on, Dean. I'm a monster. SHIELD would take one look at me and lock me up and start testing on me. People would call me a freak and I would never be able to go out in public, because if I get mad at just one person I'll blow up and hurt someone. Its safer I'm with someone who can stop me if that happens."
"We could stop you and I mean look at everyone around here. We're all freaks and you don't see SHIELD locking us up and testing on us. We're happy I mean look at Bruce. Maya, everyone needs you."
"I- I just can't stay Dean. I'm sorry." Maya quickly got up and ran over to The Doctor and whispered to him.
"Everyone!" The Doctor yelled to the group, "It's time for Maya to go."
Suddenly everyone stopped smiling and laughing and dancing.
"I'll visit I promise. As often as I can and I'll still write to you guys, okay?"
"Okay." Everyone quietly muttered and went to go hug the redhead.
Once everyone said there goodbyes, Maya walked into the TARDIS.
Maya's POV
I looked at the screen and watched as my friends sadly watched the TARDIS disappear. Soon the image changed to Charles reading a book in my bedroom and quickly looking up at the TARDIS.
"Well…Call me Maya. Anytime you need to see us." The Doctor sadly said and looked at me with his big eyes.
"Of course." I replied and wrapped my arms around his shoulders and hugged him.
"Oh and Maya?" He asked as I was about to open the TARDIS door.
"Yes?"
"Please call soon."
I nodded and stepped out of the TARDIS into my bedroom. I smiled and Charles stood from the bed and walked from the bed to me.
"Welcome home, beautiful." He whispered and kissed me softly.
"I missed you."
"Me too."
I smiled and kissed him again, this time with more passion and force. And trust me when I said there wasn't much sleeping.
