Zeus was the first to wake up. He turned his head slowly to the right and discovered Bree laying on her side a few feet from him, her face turned away. Zeus carefully brought his limbs in and pushed himself up from the floor before bringing his legs beneath himself and standing. Feeling only slightly dizzy, he took the time to assess their situation while his head cleared. The doors were still closed, but he was certain his bionics could overcome them when the time came. The gas that put them all out had somehow dissipated, most likely sucked back out through the vents that had released it into the room. Adam was still passed out in roughly the same place Zeus remembered seeing him earlier, his body crumpled up like a marionette with its strings cut. Hephaestus lay on his side a few feet from Zeus and Bree, knees slightly drawn up as if he'd fallen to them before he fully passed out.

Since Bree was the closest and Zeus didn't entirely trust his limbs quite yet, he decided to try to wake her first. It took him a few tries, but he eventually got her to wake up. He helped her to her feet and steadied her as she tried to regain her balance, then sent her over to her brother while he went to his. It didn't take as long to wake his brother, but Hephaestus didn't try standing, clearly not trusting his limbs yet.

With all four of them now awake, Zeus headed to the door he and Bree had entered through and set his hand against the cool metal, sending an electrical shock through its circuits to try and find the release.

After a moment, there was an audible click and the door slid open a crack before jamming. The others, alerted by the noise, joined him, all four of them staring at the jammed door as if the power of their gazes could somehow open it. Adam stepped forward, placing his hands carefully into the crack and standing side on to the door before leaning forward and forcing the door open.

The others cringed and covered their ears as the movement elicited a high screech, the result of the metal door being forced into movement. The discomfort lasted for only a second, then the door was open and the way clear.

They exchanged looks, silently asking someone else to lead the way. Finally, Hephaestus stepped forward, lighting his hands as he entered the passageway, the flickering flame reflecting off the walls and dropping into darkness several feet away as the light reached its limits.

Zeus stepped after him, followed by Bree with Adam taking up the rear.

"What should we do first?" Bree asked as they all stood outside. Their exit had been uneventful, finding nothing hindering their progress. There had been no more locked doors and no one to confront them. Krane clearly had no intention of containing them.

"Obviously, you two need to update Davenport, but I don't think it'd be a good idea for him to meet us just yet," Hephaestus expressed.

"I don't see why not," Bree protested. "We know you're not with Krane. We're all fighting him, so it makes sense for you guys to meet our father at some point."

Hephaestus bit his lip, a nervous tic hidden by his bandanna. Even so, Zeus could sense his brother's inner turmoil and chose to answer for him. "Has Chase ever told you where we came from. Specifically who created us?"

"No. You told him?" Bree asked. "Why wouldn't he say anything?"

"Probably because he knows you won't like the answer," Hephaestus replied, grateful his brother had led off. He'd hoped to avoid this revelation, but maybe they shouldn't.

"How long has he known?" Bree asked, clearly frustrated with his vague answer.

"Since our first meeting," Zeus answered truthfully. "We didn't outright tell him, but it wouldn't have taken him long to figure it out."

"Right, it's not like there's a lot of people it could be," Hephaestus agreed.

"Douglas," Adam said, surprising Bree. The other two boys nodded, and Bree began to wonder how she hadn't made the connection before. Now that the answer was out there, it seemed so obvious.

Though the revelation raised another question which Bree now voiced. "Why didn't he say anything?"

Hephaestus shrugged. "No idea. We didn't even know he was alive until a few months ago. Maybe he thought something bad would happen if anyone knew he'd made six bionics instead of three."

"Davenport would be pissed," Bree agreed. "So what now?"

"We can hash that all out later," Zeus decided. "Right now, we need to find Chase and Psyche. Do you all have GPS trackers like us?"

"Yeah, we can get Davenport to track Chase's chip," Bree confirmed. "What about Psyche?"

"Someone's blocking her mental signal from us. We'll talk to our...boss and see if we can track her chip," Zeus replied. "We know how to get a hold of you if we need something."

Without another word, they turned and walked away, presumably toward their transportation. The roar of motorcycle engines a few seconds later confirmed it.

"Guess we better call in," Bree muttered, retrieving her phone from her pocket to do just that. For a brief moment, as she waited for their father to pick up, she wished they'd had comms so she wouldn't have to repeat what had happened. Unfortunately, their comms were not as resistant to radiation as their phones were. Yet anyways, as Davenport insisted.

"Bree, where's Chase?" Davenport asked as soon as he picked up, causing Bree's heart to sink. If he didn't know, maybe he couldn't track Chase's chip.

"Something happened," she replied. "We need you to pick us up; we'll explain on the way back."
