Anna awoke groggily the next morning, before everyone else.
"Ugh.." Anna groaned, and pressed a hand to her throbbing forehead. Anna frowned, and moved her hand over to her cheeks. "God fucking dammit!" Anna hissed angrily, tensing. This of course woke Thorin, who frowned slightly as he woke.
"Anna?" Thorin grumbled, frowning.
"I have a fever." Anna growled, and Thorin moved and pressed a hand to her forehead. Thorin scowled, and got to his feet. Thorin trudged over to Oin, and shook him, but the healer refused to get up. Thorin huffed, and looked around the company for someone who could help Anna...
Willow. It just so happened that Fili was holding Willow like one would a stuffed animal, and it would be almost impossible for Willow to get up without waking Fili. Thorin took his chances, and walked over to Willow, and gently shook her shoulder. Willow's eyes slowly blinked open, and she looked up at Thorin with a frown.
"Anna has a fever, and Oin won't wake up." Thorin stated gruffly, and Willow's eyes widened slightly, before she nodded and went to get up... And was promptly pulled right back down by a sleeping Fili. Anna looked over and smirked slightly, and Willow's face went a bright red. Willow tried prying herself free, but the sleeping form of Fili refused to let her go.
Willow huffed, and slumped to the ground, before she managed to roll over and face Fili. Willow shook Fili by his shoulder; "Fili, get up."
Fili didn't wake. "Fili..! Get up, Anna has a fever and Oin won't get up!" Willow growled, shaking slightly harder. Fili didn't wake. Willow turned to Thorin in exasperation, and sent a pleading look at Thorin. Thorin smirked slightly, and walked over to Fili.
"Fili. Get up." Thorin ordered, and Fili woke, blinking slightly.
"Fee, I need to get to your aunt, now lemme go." Willow ordered. Fili looked down, and his face went a bright red and he released Willow. Willow smiled gratefully at Thorin, before getting to her feet and trudging over to Anna. Willow knelt down in front of Anna, and pressed a hand to her forehead, frowning.
"She's pretty hot.. We need something to cool her fever down." Willow stated, and frowned.
"Actually.. I think I had some Ibuprofen in the pocket of my jeans.." Willow stated, and rushed over to her bag.
"Wait, really?" Anna asked, her eyes widening in surprise.
"What is an I-Bee-Pro-Fin?" Thorin asked, frowning.
"It's a type of medicine in our world that we use to bring down fevers and get rid of headaches. Or pains.. During.. Certain times.." Willow stated, trailing off slightly.
"Pains?" Fili echoed. Willow brushed him off, her face flushing slightly.
"Just.. Drop it, no big deal." Willow stated, and Fili frowned slightly, but didn't say anymore. Willow took out her jeans and began to dig through the pockets. "Hah! Amazing!" Willow stated, and pulled out three small white pills.
"How those managed to stay intact for so long will never even begin to make sense to me." Anna stated, shaking her head.
"Is that those I-bee-pro-fin things?" Fili asked, looking over.
"Mhm." Willow replied, and began walking over to Anna with the pills.
"But they're so tiny, are you sure they'll even do anything?" Fili asked.
"I usually have very high fevers.. So I would take these and they'd bring my fever down." Anna replied, and took the pills from Willow.
"Could I have some water?" Anna asked, and Thorin nodded, and passed her a canteen filled with water. Anna put the pills in her mouth, before taking a sip of water and swallowing both. Anna passed the canteen back to Thorin, and moved so she sat back against the wall.
"And now we wait." Anna stated, and stretched out her fingers, each cracking individually.
"I think I'm going to go start looking for the Arkenstone in the treasury." Thorin stated, and began to move for the door.
"Don't you think it would be better if we ate breakfast first? We've got all the time in the world now." Willow stated, and Thorin paused.
"She's right, It'd be better searching on a full-stomach." Anna stated, and Thorin huffed slightly, before returning to Anna's side.
It was awhile before all of the company had wakened, and even longer till when they had finished their breakfast when most of the company headed down to the treasury to search for the Arkenstone, Anna, Willow, Fili, and Oin staying behind.

Ruins of Laketown

Kale looked out over the lake and at the smoldering ruins of Laketown, a somber look on her features. They had only just finished evacuating the city, and shock kept her body from rest. Kale felt a figure move and sit beside her, and looked to her right to see Kili sitting down next to her.
"It's pretty terrible isn't it..?" Kili asked, looking out over the horizon at the smoldering town.
"Yeah.. It's hard to believe that it was a bustling city just mere hours ago.." Kale replied quietly, and wrapped her arms around her legs. Kili looked over at her.
"How's your leg doing? After all that running." Kili asked, his brow furrowed in concern.
"It aches.. But other than that it's alright." Kale replied, tilting her head upwards so the sun's rays could catch her skin. Kili frowned when he noticed dark bags underneath her eyes.
"Have.. You slept at all?" Kili asked, a hint of amusement lacing his voice.
"Eh.. No. Too much adrenaline. I feel exhausted, but I can't fall asleep." Kale groaned, letting her head rest on her knees. The two were silent for some time as they gazed out at the smoldering town, before Kale spoke. "Why.. Did you stay in Laketown with me? Erebor is your birthright, and you could've nearly been killed."
Kili was silent, before he replied. "Same reason that you took an arrow for me." Kili replied, and Kale's gaze shot over at him as a flush rose to her cheeks.
"W.. What?" Kale murmured, her cheeks a bright red.
"Kale... I.. I love you." Kili murmured, ducking his head as a flush spread to his cheeks. After a moment or two of Kale staying completely silent, Kili spoke. "I.. It's stupid.. I should've never brought it up I-!" Kili spoke, but was interrupted when Kale crashed into him, hugging him tightly.
"You are a complete imbecile!" Kale cried, tightening her grip. Kili's eyes widened in surprise, before he came to his senses and hugged the Water Element back. "I've had a crush on you since we met." Kale murmured softly, and Kili tightened his grip.
The two finally separated, and Kale leaned against Kili, her head resting on his shoulder. Kili moved and quietly began to braid Kale's hair, slipping beads onto the finished braids. It wasn't until Kili finished that he realized Kale had finally fallen asleep.

Kylie and Sebastian

"Kylie?" Sebastian asked, walking over to the pale woman.
"Hm? What is it?" Kylie asked, turning to face Sebastian.
"Are you alright..? A.. Are you injured at all?" Sebastian asked, and Kylie raised an eyebrow.
"Just a few scratches and burns, nothing I haven't dealt with before." Kylie replied.
"You should get them treated! They could get infected you know." Sebastian replied, his brows knitted together with worry.
"There are no proper healers around, and Legolas and Tauriel are helping the more seriously wounded." Kylie replied, and Sebastian looked down at the ground.
"Well.. I could always treat them for you.." Sebastian muttered, and Kylie's eyes widened in surprise.
"W.. Well.. If you're alright with it.." Kylie murmured, and grabbed her pack which had been sitting on the ground. "I should have everything you'll need in here."
Sebastian nodded, and sat her down as he began to examine the cuts and burns on her arms, cleaning them with the contents of her bag.
"I honestly don't know why you're doing this, you have worse injuries than I do." Kylie stated, sitting patiently as Sebastian applied a salve to one of the more severe burns.
"Even the smallest cuts can get infected." Sebastian replied, and set the salve down as he reached for the bandages and began to bandage the wound.
"True, but wounds that are larger have a higher chance." Kylie replied, and Sebastian pinned the bandages.
"Alright you're done." Sebastian stated, and Kylie nodded her head in thanks. Sebastian went to get up but was pulled straight back down. "Huh? Kylie what are you..?-" Sebastian asked.
"You treated my wounds, I'm treating yours. Now off with your shirt." Kylie stated. Sebastian's face went a beet red.
"W.. What?!" Sebastian asked, blushing furiously.
"I can see blood soaking through your shirt knuckle-head, now come on! Off with it!" Kylie ordered. Sebastian reluctantly removed his tunic, and examined it. Upon further investigation Sebastian found that Kylie was right, blood had started dripping out of the wound and into his shirt.
Kylie set to work cleaning up the wounds on Sebastian's back, the man in front of her tensing whenever she started on a particularly nasty one.
"I don't see why I had to remove my shirt, it isn't like you couldn't of just pulled it up." Sebastian grumbled.
"It's easier to work this way, and that thing needs washing anyways." Kylie replied bluntly, and Sebastian huffed.
"Anna didn't have to remove her shirt when she was injured.." Sebastian growled. Kylie punched Sebastian in the arm.
"She's a lady! Show some sense!" Kylie stated, and Sebastian grumbled something under his breath as he rubbed his arm. "And besides.." Kylie started...
"I like you better without a shirt anyways."
Sebastian went a beet red. "W.. What?" Sebastian asked, blushing furiously.
"You heard me. And you're done too." Kylie replied. Kylie stood up and walked off, before flashing a evil grin back at Sebastian. And Sebastian stared back, a lopsided grin slowly crossing his features.
