"Well, it seems I've upset you."
Mayuri rolls her fingers, then her neck - it popping in a few places - before curling her hands into fists and sending a jolt of chakra to extend her blade. "Upset doesn't even begin to cover how I feel right now."
"I wish I could say that I was sorry," he replies, his tongue darting out and sliding across his lower lip. "But to be honest, I don't think I've ever seen you look so desirable before."
"Why don't you come down here and tell me to my face?" Mayuri tilts her head, tapping her free fingers against her lips. "Or maybe, I'll just come up there myself."
Lightning blade on, Kabuto has no time to think before Mayuri is up in his face and he's blocking her gauntlet. His brown eyes meet her golden ones and he can actually see her hatred for him swirling in them and fueling her moves.
How exciting.
Mayuri leans back and knocks Kabuto's arms out of the way before planting her foot in his Solar Plexus, sending him flying back a few feet and crashing into a tree. Mayuri follows quickly, he having snapped something in her that prevents her from deciding when enough is enough with him, and pins him to the tree, her knee between his legs pressed against his groin and the armor plates of her gauntlet pressing against his throat as she holds him in place. Kabuto coughs a couple of times, then laughs before looking at her with crazy in his eyes. "Now THIS is more like it! Where was this during our match?"
Mayuri narrows her eyes again and pushes against his throat some more. "Stop talking unless you'd also like to stop breathing."
Kabuto laughs again, somehow more heartily despite the pressure against his throat. "Now THAT is funny. Sweet Mayuri, you and I both know you're not capable of wounding me, let alone actually killing me."
"You have no idea what I'm capable of."
"Oh please, don't kid yourself. If you were going to kill me you'd have done it by now." Kabuto's tongue slides out and runs along his bloody lower lip from the force of impact earlier. "You have no killer instinct. You're too WEAK."
Mayuri flinches slightly for one second, and that's more than enough time for Kabuto to get a little loose from her position. He pulls out a kunai and sinks it into her scarred side, ripping through her clothes and her skin as he puts a deep cut up the side of her entire body. Mayuri jumps back and, running on adrenaline, she throws shuriken at him, followed by smoke bombs.
As she retreats she can hear Kabuto saying something, but her hearings too shot right now for her to make anything out at this distance. She looks down at her side to see her whole side from her bra-line down to her ankle is just covered with blood, and it doesn't look like it's stopping anytime soon and GOD DAMN does she hurt. How far did he cut her up?
Doesn't matter, she needs to focus on getting back to the village or the arena to get help. There's no way she can go on like this, she might be reckless but she's not an idiot. She has to get back and get help, and that's what she needs to pay attention to. Just block out the pain Mayuri, think about something else.
Why is my vision so dark on the outsides?
Mayuri stops for a moment on a tree branch and leans against the trunk, trying to catch her breath. She's really dizzy too, why is everything suddenly so fuzzy? And with that as her last thought, Mayuri plummets the last few feet to the ground, laying in a crumpled, bloody mess in the middle of the forest. No voice to call for help, no strength to keep going...
And no one looking for her.
Gai runs through the forest, looking for a battle. He'd finally left Lee's side and had come out looking to help someone but so far has had no luck. He lands on a tree branch and puts his hands on his masculine hips, trying to decide which way he should go. That's when he notices the weird smell permeating the air in this area. It's like... a rusting iron smell that kind of puts him on edge.
He glances around for the source of the smell, before finally seeing a tree nearby stained red and shining with fresh blood. He runs over and drags a finger down the tree, it's definitely still fresh, in fact it's still pretty warm to the touch considering how much blood's been lost in just this one spot. Gai's dark eyes swivel around at the other trees before he finally looks down.
And what he see's is horrifying.
Gai plunges to the ground and turns Mayuri over, checking for a pulse as he attempts to put pressure on the slowly bleeding wound. There's a heartbeat, but it's very faint. And her wound is massive, it's at least two inches deep into her side and stretches from her hip to her ribcage. Oh geezus.
"Hold on Mayuri. I'm going to get you help." Gai isn't sure who he's saying that for, himself or for the dying girl he's lifting in his arms. He runs as fast as he can back towards the village, knowing he doesn't have much time and worse yet:
He might be too late.
