A/n: Hi everyone! Sorry this update took so long. A friend of mine slept over Friday and we went to see a movie Saturday and by the time she left it was a bit late to work on a chapter. Anyways thanks to xconversegirl99x, Ninuhuju, Smithback and goldenarmyman for reviewing in the last chapter. Smithback I didn't really have a favorite book so I changed to question to my favorite genre of books. Anyways I own nothing!
Chapter 37: Goku vs the Devil
"Enough dawdling! Lets get it over with!"The crone yelled starting the match.
"If I must…" The mummy mumbling feeling a little guilty for having to beat up the kid.
"Come on down! Or do you want me to make the first move?" Goku taunted not even getting into a guard or fighting stance.
Everyone including Gohan was a bit shocked at how over-confident Goku was acting.
'Now I know where I get it from,' Gohan thought frowning.
"What are you doing? Hurry up and get on with it!" The crone demanded impatiently.
"Alright you asked for it!" The mummy demanded punching Goku in the stomach.
The mummy then landed a upper cut on Goku and then round house kicked him to the demon statue on the other side of the arena. Goku landed face down on the statues tongue with a thud.
'He can't be serious.' Gohan thought, 'There's no way father would lose that easily,' Gohan thought to himself. This wasn't reasoning thought. Gohan knew his father wasn't down for the count. After all he didn't even put up a guard stance.
"Heh heh heh….losing consciousness counts as a loss, of course. Boy! If you still conscious say something! Well? Speak!" The Crone taunted cackled to herself.
"Okay!" Goku said getting up.
Gohan tried his best to not laugh at the priceless looks across everyone's face excluding himself and Goku.
"Now it's my turn! Are you ready?" Goku asked the mummy while walking towards him.
The mummy threw a punch at Goku's face put Goku ducked and counter attacked by punching the mummy in the stomach KOing the mummy.
"Are you awake?...Doesn't look like it…That means I win right Crone?" Goku asked.
"Uh…I suppose so…" The Crone reluctantly answered.
"I did it! He'll be in the way of the next fight so I'll move him. I only need to beat two move guys right?"
"Hmph. Only? Don't be so cavalier, boy! You wont be smiling soon! Alright the 4th champion! It's your turn Devil!" The crone summoned.
Suddenly a man wearing a Devil suit came out.
"Are all of you guys weirdo's?" Goku asked.
"My thoughts exactly," Gohan mumbled while sweat dropping.
"What?! She's bringing out the Devil out already? He used to be her right hand man….that means she's saving an even incredible foe for last," Said Roshi.
'I just hope it's not a clone,' Gohan thought.
"Begin!" The Crone announced.
The Devil flapped his wings and began to fly.
"Hey that's no fair he can fly!" Exclaimed Bulma.
The Devil swooped down at Goku but Goku side kicked him in the face sending the Devil flying. When he recovered he wiped the trail of blood that started to form from his lip away.
"You don't seem too strong either," Goku stated matter-of-factly.
"What! How dare you taunt the Devil!" Goku's opponent growled.
The Devil charged at goku once again trying to make a swipe at him. Goku barely dodged it and jumped out of the way just in time as the Devil tried to sweep his legs and counter-attacked with a elbow to the Devil's face. The Devil then adorned a smile that would make babies cry.
"Even the most sweet-faced little goody-goody has a drop of evil in his heart. I can make that little drop in you expand and expand until your blown to bits!"
Goku just stared at him with a confused look. Then the Devil shot a beam at Goku.
"No! It's the beam of evil! He really is planning to kill Goku!" Roshi exclaimed.
'What! But my father doesn't have any evil in his heart,' Gohan thought to himself.
"Devil wait! You don't have to go that far!" The Crone yelled but it was too late. The Devil had already shot the beam at Goku.
"Let the evil in your heart grow and grow! Explode!" The Devil chanted while laughing like a mad man.
"G-Goku!" Krillin yelled as everyone excluding Gohan yelled in horror.
'Don't they know he's pure hearted?' Gohan thought to himself calmly. If that beam did make the darkness in your heart expand he knew his father was okay. Goku was raised to not have any evil in his heart and was how he was raised as well.
"Now explode! Boom! Boom! Boom!...boom?"
"Hey what was that all about?" Goku asked as the light the surrounded him because of the beam died down.
"D-don't tell me you don't have any evil in your heart at all?!" The Devil exclaimed.
Goku's friends cheered that Goku was okay. Gohan smiled.
'I knew daddy would be okay.'
"I must resort to my ultimate move!" The Devil declared whilst grabbing a triton that appeared out of thin air. He then attempted to skew Goku with it, which Goku dodged.
"That's cheating! Using a weapon!" Goku yelled.
"Okay if that's how you want it I'll get serious too!" Goku exclaimed side kicking the Devil into the wall before anyone could blink.
"…Maybe I overdid it a little…" Goku said sweat dropping at the sight at his opponent's torso being stuck in the wall. Goku quickly recovered though and flashed a grin and peace sign.
"I won again! Only one more! Bring 'im on!"
"I have to admit to you're the first group to have progressed this far. But you have never met a warrior like the last champion! Now the time has come!" The Crone exclaimed.
"Time for me," Said the last champion.
The last champion stepped out of the shadows. It was reveled to be….that's just it…they were sure. This last fighter was wearing a mask….and Gohan didn't recognize his energy.
'Who is he?'
