Thirty Five- Complete
"Where are you taking me?" Pan asked curiously as she placed her hands over Trunks' own hands that were covering her eyes.
"I thought you were paying attention to where I was going?" He snickered lightly.
"Well I was, but I'm pretty sure you cheated and went into several different rooms to confuse me," she pouted slightly.
She had been sitting in her room, reading when Trunks started knocking on her door, telling her he had a surprise for her. He had covered her eyes and she had tried her best to keep up where they were going but by the time she was sure they had entered the living room twice and the library three times she had lost track completely.
"Here we are..." Trunks finally said, as he led Pan into a room.
She sensed what it was instantly without even having to see it. It was her inside garden... Trunks removed his hands and Pan's eyes widened as she took in the scene. It was growing dark outside, but Trunks had strung up some lights and it lit the room up in a nice glow. Sitting in front of the hanging chair was a small dark table with a white cake on it. Pan blinked in confusion as she looked up at him.
"It's not my birthday..." it was still summer, her birthday wouldn't be for another few months.
"I know..." Trunks nodded slightly. "It's the anniversary of the day you arrived..."
Pan's eyes widened slightly. Had it really been a year already? Time had just seemed to fly by, she hadn't even realized it.
"I know you arrived under difficult circumstances," Trunks began in a gentle tone as he turned to face her. "But there's not a day that doesn't go by that I don't thank the Kais for bringing you here..." he reached out, his hand caressing her cheek.
Pan felt her face grow hot as her heart hammered inside of her chest. They were so close... "I am so happy that I came here, too," she whispered. "Thank you for everything, Trunks. This last year has been wonderful and it wouldn't have been that way if it weren't for you."
Trunks' hand was still on her cheek, his thumb slowly tracing her cheekbone. He couldn't look away from her. "From the first moment I saw you, I was drawn to you," he took a step closer to her. "Maybe it was because I somehow knew you were a Saiyan, I don't know, but I do know one thing. I thought I was happy after the Androids were gone and Cell too; I thought I was content and then you show up. I didn't know what happiness was until I was able to make you smile and laugh and I won't be fully content until I can kiss you..."
Pan's breath caught caught slightly. Her already hammering heart felt like it was going to come up through her throat and her stomach felt like it was in a whirl. She could feel it, this invisible force that drew her and Trunks closer and closer together. She had fed it for months now as she made any excuse possible just to be around him or to even touch him. But even that had begun to not be enough for her either. She craved more...
"Trunks... I think I love you," she confessed.
He let out a small laugh and raised an eyebrow. "You think?" He moved his hand that had been resting on her cheek to her waist.
"Well, I know I love you," Pan told him confidently and this time it was his heart that almost came up his chest. "But I think I'm in love with you too," she reached up and placed her hand on his cheek this time. "You've become my sun..."
He leaned down then, his lips brushing hers softly. All Pan could think of was how he felt. His lips were firm, but so soft and they sent shock all the way down her body. Her lips tingled as he pulled away and the butterflies in her stomach erupted.
Trunks grinned at her, "I must admit that I lied..." Pan raised a curious eyebrow as he continued, "there's no way I could be content with just one kiss from you." Pan grinned this time and grabbed his face to pull him down for another kiss.
"Are you taking me to my garden again?" Pan asked as she rode on Trunks' back. Her eyes were closed upon his request as he took her somewhere for a 'surprise'.
"I took you there last time," he told her with a grin. "So nope."
Pan pouted, "then where?"
"We'll be there soon," he told her with a soft chuckle. "Stop pouting to much."
It was a few minutes later when he stopped and gently placed her down. "Okay, you can open your eyes now."
Pan peaked her eyes open and slowly the widened. He had decorated the whole backyard in a string of lights. It looked like some enchanted garden.
"Wow..." Pan awed and she looked up at him with a soft smile. "Did you do all of this?"
"Of course, this is nothing for m'lady," he grinned.
Pan grinned back. They had been dating for four months now, but she still got butterflies when he called her something sweet like that. Even his pet name for her, Little One, could sometimes make her heart flutter. She guessed it was just an affect Trunks had on her.
As Pan took in the scenery, the sound of a bell caught her attention. "Hm?" She raised an eyebrow at Trunks.
He grinned and gave an innocent shrug. "I guess you should go see what it is..."
Pan pursed her lips together in amusement before she took off, listening to the bell sound. She went all over the backyard before she found it... The bells were on a small pink collar belonging to a tiny black kitten. Pan squealed, and picked the kitten up.
"Seriously?!" She asked Trunks as she began to pet the kitten as it purred.
"What?" He raised an lavender eyebrow with a grin. "Every witch needs a black cat," he sent her wink as he walked over to her. "Happy seventeenth Birthday, Little One," he whispered as he leaned down to kiss her.
As the months flew by, the adorable black kitten turned into a mischievous little cat named Midnight. Her favorite place to be was wherever Pan was, and since Pan was mostly in her little indoor garden- whether it was taking care of the plants or reading or working on whatever on the small desk she had moved in there- Midnight would be in there as well. She loved to lay on the floor as the warm rays of the sun shinned through the windows and although she was a mischievous cat who loved to get into things, she strangely did not bother Pan's flowers. She would rub up against them, purring happily time to time, as if giving them her affection as well, but that was it. Her other favorite thing to do, it seemed was to play with Trunks... whether it be aggravating him, biting him, cuddling with him or grooming him. It seemed she loved her human's human almost as much as her human did.
Along with Midnight, Pan's little garden grew, too. She had several new plants and almost all the available space she had in the room was gone. The room was a tranquil room for Pan, somewhere she instantly found peace in. After moving a desk in the room with a laptop, she had picked up the hobby of writing. It started off as journal entries but soon it had turned into proms and poems and before long it was short stories... On top of that, Pan had finished her schooling and completely and with her sudden love of writing blooming she decided to take creative writing classes online.
And most importantly, Trunks and Pan's relationship grew. Neither Chi-Chi or Bulma we're surprised to find out that the two of them were dating and it was just a few days after that that Chi-Chi scheduled an appointment for Pan to be on birth control. Though it was undoubtedly embarrassing, Pan knew her Grands was only looking out for her and that she would probably be thankfully later on.
Yet still... It had been over a year since the two of them had started dating, but they had yet to go all the way. There had been several close calls of course, but they always stopped before it got to that point and Pan knew it was because of her. She just hadn't been ready, but the more time that passed the more irritable she was getting and it was because she was starting to crave Trunks. She didn't know if it was a Saiyan thing or what, but sometimes she could see his eyes watching her when he thought she wasn't looking and she knew he felt the same way. It would only be a matter of time...
