This one shot was inspired by the song Mary's Song (oh my my) By Taylor Swift. Enjoy xoxo.

She said, I was seven and you were nine I looked at you like the stars that shined In the sky, the pretty lights And our daddies used to joke about the two of us Growing up and falling in love and our mamas smiled And rolled their eyes and said... oh my my my my

It was early Spring and the leaves were just starting to bloom on the trees. The cold air changed to warm air. The clouds of grey gave away to blue skies. Birds could be heard singing their song. It was a beautiful morning in the town of Rosewood Pennsylvania. On one of the quietest streets in Rosewood stood a two-story brick house. That brick house was the home of the Cavanaugh family. The Cavanaughs are a small family that everybody knows about in Rosewood. A couple named Marion and Danielle live there with their nine-year-old son Toby.

Marion Cavanaugh works as a school music teacher at Rosewood Day Elementary. She's been working there for the past four years and won the golden apple award for two years in a row. Kids at school love to learn about music from her. Lots of parents adore Marion as a teacher for their young ones. Danielle Cavanaugh has his own business called Cavanaugh's Carpentry. Over time his business has become one of the top ten business in America. Their son Toby, is one of the sharpest kids in his class. Teachers are always saying good things about him and they love having him in class. Mrs. Montgomery said she can see Toby doing great things in his life. He's incredibly smart and very kind to everyone he meets. Although sometimes he has a little trouble with bullies and making friends. He only has a few friends in school, Caleb Rivers, Emily Fields, and a sixth grader from the middle school Ezra Fitz.

On a Saturday afternoon Toby was sitting in his bedrooms playing with his hand made toy cars that he made with his father over the summer. He even made little car engine noises while playing with them. A shimmer of light passing through his bedroom window stopped his play. He glanced out the window and saw a white moving van parked outside the house right next to his. He titled his head and set down his car toys. Then he got up and walked over to the window. He squinted at the bright sunlight burning his pupils. He watched as two cars pulled up into the driveway at that same house. One of the cars was a blue dodge dart and the other car was a dark grey porsche. A tall man with short grey/brown hair got out of the porsche. He looked like a businessman dressed in a tucked in white shirt and black tie.

"Toby!" His mother called. "Would you come down here please and put some shoes on."

Toby obeyed his mother's order and quickly pulled on his sneakers. Then he ran down the stairs as fast as he could His mother and father were standing by the door getting ready to leave. His dad was hold a bouquet of flowers. There were also two little boxes sitting on the table. Marion handed one of the boxes to Toby. Then she picked up the apple pie that was sitting on the table. Danielle picked up the other little box.

"What are we doing?" Toby asked, his voice squeaking as he spoke.

"We're going to go great our new neighbors," Marion said.

"Why are we giving them presents if we don't even know what they like?"

"Well it turns out that I do know the Hastings family. Mr. Hastings is my new business partner."

"What's in the little boxes?" Toby tried peeking inside.

"Don't open that Toby!" His mother scolded. "You're going to give that to their youngest daughter."

Toby's face lit up, "they have kids!"

His father nodded, "Yeah, two daughters."

Toby's face fell once again. "Ah man, I was hoping they would have a son."

"You be nice to them," Marion warned.

Toby rolled his eyes and groaned, "Yes ma'am."

They walked out of the house and over to the Hastings driveway. The Hastings were busy unpacking all of their stuff. Mrs. Hastings was the first one to notice them. She smiled politely at them and waved them over.

"Peter," Veronica hissed at her husband who was struggling to pick up a big box.

Peter set down the box and brushed off his hands. He walked over to stand next to his wife. He smiled at the family.

"Hello Danielle."

"Hello Peter," Danielle said while shaking his hand. "Nice to finally meet you face to face."

"Likewise. Uh this is my wife Veronica and my kids are around here somewhere."

Peter glanced around for his two daughters. He found one of them walking up the steps to their front door.

"Melissa!" Peter called out. "Come over here for a minute, would you?"

Melissa jumped off the last step and ran over to stand beside her parents. Melissa was a pretty, tall, young girl. She was almost as tall as her mother, but not quiet. She still has a few years to catch up. Peter clamped a hand over his daughter's shoulder.

"This is my oldest daughter Melissa. She's eleven."

Melissa smiled, "It's nice to meet you all."

"You're daughter is just as pretty as you said she was," Danielle said.

"Thank you," Peter said. "Actually I have a younger daughter around here somewhere, but I don't know where she wondered off to. Melissa, where's you sister?"

"Last I saw her she was in the car reading."

Veronica chuckled, "Oh she must still be in the car. That child loves to read. No matter what we're doing that girl always has a book in her hands."

Marion smiled and ruffled Toby's hair. "My son is the same way."

"Spencer," Peter shouted. "Would you get out here please!"

They all waited a second until the door to the blue dodge slowly flew open. A small leg stepped out of the car than another. Pretty soon they saw a small girl appear in the driveway. The girl had long brown hair clipped together with a flower clip. She had brown eyes that sparkled in the sunlight and was wearing a white sun dress that touched past her knees. Toby couldn't stop his wandering eyes from looking at the girl. She's pretty for a little girl. Spencer walked over to her parents and shyly hid behind her mother's leg.

Peter finished introducing the rest of the family. "And this is my other daughter Spencer. She's seven years old and is a total book worm."

Marion smiled at the little girl, "Hi Spencer."

Spencer whimpered and hid her face into her mother's black pants. The poor thing is so shy. Veronica laughed and tapped her daughter's shoulder.

"Spencer, why don't you say hi to everybody."

She turned her head to face them and peeked one eye out at them.

"Hi," she spoke in a soft raspy voice.

As soon as she said that she blushed a deep shade of red then hid her face back into her mother's legs. Everyone laughed. Toby thought that Spencer's shyness was kind of cute. He's also shy when it comes to meeting new people. Maybe he could help her open up.

"It's been a pleasure to meet you family," Peter said.

"Yours too," Danielle said. "Actually we have some welcome to the neighborhood gifts here for you." He handed them the flowers. "We bought these flowers to set up in your home."

"And I made a pie," Marion said. "I hope you like apple."

"Oh how nice," Veronica said, while taking the pie.

"And we have something for Melissa as well," Marion said.

Melissa reached out to take the little black box from her. She opened it and smiled at the tennis bracelet inisde. It was a silver band with diamonds around it. Melissa smiled up at the family.

"Thank you."

Spencer lifted up her head to try and take a look at the bracelet Melissa got. It was very pretty. Marion noticed Spencer staring at the bracelet. That's when she gave Toby a little nudge.

"Toby, don't you have something you want to give to Spencer?"

Toby looked at Spencer as she turned her gaze over to him. For the first time the two locked eyes. Spencer's caramel eyes found Toby's crystal blue eyes. The two stared at each other and none else seemed to notice. For some reason Spencer felt less shy now.

"Would you all like to come inside for a cup of coffee?" Veronica offered.

"I would like that very much," Marion said then turned to her husband. "How about you honey?"

"Sure," He nodded. "Peter and I can talk business."

The four adults and Melissa walked inside the house together. Spencer and Toby remained outside for a few extra minutes. It took Toby a moment to realize he still had Spencer's present in his hand. He tried opening his mouth to say something, but no words came out. It surprised him when Spencer was the one to speak.

"Well," her young raspy voice spoke. "Are you going to talk or not?"

He titled his head and looked at her. "You're the shy one."

"That's because I've been standing here waiting for you to say something."

Toby looked down at the box in his hands then back at her. He slowly passed the box over to her.

"My mom got this for you."

She gently took the box from him then open it. Inside the box was a tennis bracelet much like the one Melissa got. Spencer's eyes sparkled as she looked at it. She smiled at him.

"It's pretty, thank you."

Toby smiled back, "You're welcome."

While Spencer and Toby stayed outside, the four parents stood watching them from the kitchen window. They loved seeing their children getting along so well. Peter nudged Danielle's arm.

"I think your sons putting the moves on my daughter."

He laughed, "Oh please, if anything your daughter keeps giving Toby the butterfly look."

The two men laughed together. Marion and Veronica just smiled at each other and rolled their eyes.

Take me back to the house in the backyard tree Said you'd beat me up, you were bigger than me You never did, you never did Take me back when our world was one block wide I dared you to kiss me and ran when you tried Just two kids, You and I Oh my my my my

That year on the Forth of July the two families spent it with each other. The two men grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for everyone and the woman sat in their sun chairs sipping their red wine while the children played nicely in the back yard. Melissa was playing with her new friend Julie, while Spencer spent her time with Toby. The two of them have been spending a lot of time together since they met. They went to the same school and Spencer sat with him and his friends at lunch. During recess the two would often spend it with each other playing something like tag, hop scotch, Mary Mack, or just sitting in the grass talking one on one.

They've hung out together after school a lot two. They work on homework together, go on hikes through the woods together, and play games. The two even have their own secret hide out, which is Toby's tree house in his backyard. Sometimes during the weekends they would spend the night at each other's house. The two have grown insanely close. It's very hard to separate the two and it gets to the point we're their parents have to forcefully keep them apart.

Now here they are back together on the Forth of July. Like always the two are playing around with each other and laughing. Right now Toby is teasing Spencer and saying he's going to beat her up if she doesn't do what he says. Toby is running towards the tree house and Spencer is right on his tail.

"Toby, wait for me!" Spencer shouted.

"Better keep up!" He responded, while climbing up the rope ladder.

"Wait!"

"No girls allowed!"

Spencer stood at the bottom with her hands on her hips.

"That's not fair!"

"My tree house, my rules!"

Spencer started climbing up the ladder anyway.

"I'll beat you up if you come up here!" Toby warned.

Spencer entered the tree house anyway. Toby didn't beat her up like he said he would. Actually, he's always threatening to beat her up, but he never does. Toby scooted back to give her more room to sit. The two of them sat up in the tree house playing cards just being together. An explosion of fireworks stopped them from their play. Spencer sat on the edge of the tree house watching the fireworks with an awestruck expression on her face.

"Come on Toby," Spencer patted a seat next to her. "Come watch the fireworks with me."

Toby crawled over and sat next to her on the edge. The two both wore awestruck expressions as they watched the multi-colored fireworks bursting in the air. While Toby was looking up at the fireworks, Spencer couldn't help herself from glancing over at him. She loves the way his blue eyes shin when he's into something. He loves the way his sandy brown hair falls over his face. She loves everything about him.

"Toby."

"Yeah?"

Spencer looked away as she spook.

"Have you um... have you ever k-kissed anyone before?"

"You mean like on the lips the way our mommies and daddies do?"

"Yeah."

He shook his head, "no. have you?"

She shook her head, "no. I dare you to kiss me!" She challenged.

"Seriously?"

"Yes."

Toby shrugged and said, "okay."

They turned to face each other. Toby prepared himself for what he's about to do. He's about to kiss the girl he met not even five months ago. Toby started to lean in and the closer he got, the more nervous Spencer got. She's never kissed anyone before. What if she's not good at it? What if it's weird? What if the kids at school find out? Her friend Hanna said boys have cuddies and if you kiss a boy with cuddies, you'll get them too. What if Toby has cuddies? Spencer opened her eyes and saw that Toby was about to kiss her. Then she screamed and turned her face so his lips connected with her cheek. Spencer ran down the rope ladder and ran inside her house. Toby sat back trying to figure out what just happened. She ran away when he was about to kiss her, but didn't she just dare him to?

Toby shook his head and mumbled, "girls are weird."

Well, I was sixteen when suddenly I wasn't that little girl you used to see But your eyes still shined like pretty lights And our daddies used to joke about the two of us They never believed we'd really fall in love And our mamas smiled and rolled their eyes And said oh my my my my

Today is Toby's first day of senior year. He's very excited about senior year because it's supposed to be the best year of your life. Back in freshmen year, he was just a small little kid. This year he's one of the kings of the schools. Underclassmen seem to respect seniors more. On Monday morning, Toby got dressed in a white t-shirt, a pair of black jeans, and a leather jacket. Over the summer, he got his hair cut, so instead of his usual busy hair, it is now short. He took some hair gel and spiked up the top layer of his honey colored hair then smoothed out the sides of his hair. New school year, new look.

He grabbed his brown bookbag off his rocking chair then slung it over his shoulders. He put on his favorite sunglasses then walked out to his motorcycle. When he arrived to school, he parked his motorcycle then pulled off his helmet. He ran a hand through his hair to smooth out any hair that might be sticking up on the sides. Then he got off his bike and walked into the building. Toby made his way down the hallway and stopped at his locker when his friend, Caleb is waiting.

"Hey man," Caleb said while giving him a knuckle touch.

Toby smirked, "Hey."

"How awesome is it that we're seniors?"

"It's pretty awesome. Have you seen Spencer yet?"

"No," Caleb shook his head. "Don't you two normally arrive at school on the first day together? You've been doing it ever since you guys became friends."

"She said she was coming with Hanna today."

"Spencer will be here soon." Caleb laughed. "That big nerd is never late for anything. She's probably trying to pick out the perfect plaid shirt."

Toby smacked him over the head. "Hey, that's my best friend you're mocking."

"Toby you even said it yourself. Spencer's a big nerd."

"Well she's my big nerd."

A sudden shift in the air caused the two boys to look up. They're not sure why they felt the need to turn around, but they were sure glad that they did. Coming down the hallway right now is a group of four girls. One of the girls was Aria Montgomery, Emily Fields, Hanna Marin, and... Holy crap. Spencer Hastings was walking along with these girls. Last year they were young freshmen girls who didn't know how to dress. Now here they are walking down the hallway rocking the outfits that they're wearing. They all look hot, but Toby's eyes were focused on Spencer.

Sixteen-year-old Spencer came walking down the hall wearing a purple low cut blouse and a black knee length skirt that showed off her mile-long legs. The blouse is tucked into the skirt and she has on black three inch heels. Boys from all age groups were gawking over her. That made Toby feel a strange ping of jealousy. This was not the same shy eight-year-old girl he met many years ago. This girl is all grown up and Toby can't help but feel attracted to her. Spencer and Hanna stopped in the middle of the hallway with their other two friends. They each shared a brief smile then went their separate ways. Aria and Emily turned around the corner and Spencer and Hanna started coming towards the boys. Toby felt his heart stop when Spencer met his eyes. Spencer smiled shyly and tucked a lock behind her ear.

"Hey Tobes," Spencer showed off her toothy smile.

Toby's heart skipped a beat. "Hey Spence."

"Well, don't you ladies look hot," Caleb said while throwing his arm over Hanna's shoulder.

Hanna threw her head back and laughed. "Beat your heart out."

"Any day for you baby," he said with a wink.

Spencer and Hanna laughed. Caleb tugged on Hanna's arm offering to walk her to class. She smiled and walked down the hall with him leaving Spencer and Toby alone. Toby glanced up at Spencer and she smiled. His heart melted again.

"You look different," Toby said.

"So do you," she replied.

"It's a good different. You look beautiful."

She blushed. "Thank you."

Toby offered his arm out to her. "Can I walk you to class?"

She smiled and linked her arm with his. The two walked down the hallway together. Each waving at their friends they haven't seen in a while. Even though Spencer is only a sophomore and Toby's a senior, they have a few classes together. Spencer is taking third year French along with Toby. Next year she'll be in AP French. They also have pre-calc together. They also have Chemistry together. Plus they all sit together with their friends at lunch. When the school day let out, all of Spencer's friends left already and Spencer doesn't have her own car yet. Just then, Toby walked up to her with his helmet bag strapped over his shoulder.

"Hey Spencer. I thought you would be gone already."

"I was just grabbing my stuff and it looks like I'll be walking."

"Or I could give you a ride," he offered.

Spencer laughed. "Oh no, I'm not getting on that death machine."

"Come on Spence," Toby made a baby face. "Are you afraid of getting on?"

"No, I'm not afraid of getting on, I'm just afraid of getting off really hard."

"Come on Spencer, don't you trust me?"

"Yes, I trust you more than I trust myself."

"And do you trust me enough to get you home safely?"

Spencer nodded. Toby led her to his motorcycle and the two got on. Since he only has one helmet, he gave it to Spencer. Spencer wrapped her arms tightly around his waist. Toby started it up and that startled her a little. She clenched her first into his leather jacket when they started moving. For the first few minutes, Spencer was scared, but once she felt the wind brushing through her hair, she relaxed and enjoyed the ride.

Ten minutes later, they pulled into Toby's driveway. He stopped the bike gently and allowed her to get off first. She took off the helmet fixed up her hair then handed him the helmet. Toby tucked it under his bike seat then got off himself.

"Thanks for the ride," Spencer said.

"If I have to give you a ride home tomorrow, I'll bring the truck."

She shook her head. "No, that's okay. I actually enjoyed the ride."

Toby smiled back at her. The two stared at each other when he noticed some of her hair sticking up. He reached out and combed his hand through her hair to smooth it back into place. Spencer gazed at him while he did so. He stepped back and their eyes locked. In that moment, Toby felt a strange pulling feeling towards her. He's felt this before, but he's never felt this strongly towards her. He was just with her yesterday. They've known each other since they were kids, there's no way he can be attracted to her. And yet here he is wanting to kiss her.

"I should get inside," She said.

She started to walk away, but Toby stopped her.

"Hey Spencer."

She turned around. "Yeah?"

"Do you have any plans for homecoming?"

And our daddies used to joke about the two of us Never believed we'd really fall in love And our mama's smiled and rolled their eyes And said oh my my my my

On Homecoming night, Spencer stood up in her bedroom trying on her midnight blue spaghetti strap dress. The dress stretches down to her knees and her heels fight her perfectly. She styled her hair in nice thick curls down her shoulders. For her makeup, she gave herself a smokey eye look and put on light red rip stick. Spencer is overly excited about going to homecoming with her best friend, Toby. Although lately she's been feeling a lot more for Toby than just friendship. She's hoping that after tonight they can be a little bit more than friends. She heard the doorbell ring from downstairs.

"Spencer!" Peter called up. "Toby's here!"

"Coming!"

Spencer put her makeup, her phone, and a book into her purse then ran downstairs. When she got halfway down the steps, she spotted Toby standing by the front door with his back turned to her. Both Toby's parents were here as well. They were all standing in a circle talking. Mr. Cavanaugh was the first one to notice her. Then Peter looked up. Pretty soon everyone in the room was looking at Spencer. Toby caught on to the fact that they were all staring at something and turned around.

His eyes almost popped out of their sockets and his jaw dropped down to the floor when he saw Spencer. There she was walking slowly down the steps wearing a beautiful dress. Toby thought she looked stunning. Peter walked over and offered his arm out to her to help her down the last two steps. Spencer smiled and accepted. Peter walked her over to everyone and they all smiled at her. Then Peter handed her over to Toby. Toby's heart skipped a beat when she looked at him with smiley eyes.

Spencer thought Toby looked good as well. He's wearing a light blue polo shirt that's tucked into his black dress up pants. Plus he's got on a suit and tie. This is not the same biker style he wore to school just hours before. His hair wasn't spiked up, instead it was all layered and smoothed out.

"Spencer you look beautiful," Mr. Cavanaugh said.

"Thank you."

"It's amazing how beautiful they grow up to be ah Veronica?" Marion said.

Veronica smiled in agreement. "Toby didn't turn out too bad either."

The two woman laughed.

"Remember how we used to talk about when this day would come?" Peter said to Danielle. "The day that these two kids would fall in love."

"Yeah," Danielle agreed. "I never thought this day would actually come. I'm so happy that my son finally got the nerve to ask Spencer out."

"Dad," Toby said in embarrassment.

"After Toby asked Spencer to the dance, Spencer couldn't stop smiling for days," Peter said.

"Dad can you not," Spencer whined.

Marion and Veronica looked at each other and rolled their eyes.

"Oh, you two leave them alone," Marion said.

"Yeah," Veronica agreed. "If you keep picking on them now, we might not be invited to the wedding."

"Mom," Spencer said.

"Okay, you two kids have fun, but not too much fun," Marion said.

They snapped a few pictures of the couple then allowed them to leave. Toby led the way out to his truck and opened the passenger's side door for Spencer. Spencer thanked him and slid into the seat. Toby shut her door then circled around to the drivers side. Once they were both settled, they drove off to the dance. When they got there, they walked inside the gymnasium hand in hand. Their friends smiled when they saw them walking through the crowd.

"You guys look amazing," Aria said.

Spencer smiled and tightened her grip on Toby's hand.

"Thanks, Aria."

The lights were dimmed and a shuffle of slow songs started playing. All of their friends moved to dance with their dates on the dance floor. Toby wanted to ask Spencer to dance, but he doesn't know how. His mother offered to teach him several times, but he was embarrassed to have his mother teach him. Now he regrets not learning how. Instead, Spencer and Toby decided to step outside in the courtyard and look up at the stars. Toby kept looking up at the stars, but Spencer was looking at him. Once Toby felt her gaze, he looked at her and smiled.

"What?"

She smiled back. "Nothing."

"You look beautiful tonight," He said. "If I haven't already said so."

"About fifty times actually," she teased and they both smiled.

"I just wanted to make sure you know how beautiful you how. How beautiful you always are."

They stared into each other's eyes for awhile. Both of their hearts racing. Toby's eyes are looking between her lips and her eyes. He wants to do nothing more than kiss her and she wants nothing more than for him to kiss her. Both of them are too shy to make the first move.

"Toby," Spencer said.

"Yes?"

She bit her lip softly. "I dare you to kiss me."

Toby looked at her for a moment and swallowed. Many years ago she said the same thing to him. When he was about to, she ended up running away. But they were kids then. Now they're older and more mature. Spencer looked at him waiting for him to make the first move. He reached out with his hand and brushed her hair back just like he did when they were kids. Then he cupped her cheek with his hand and slowly brought her face up to his. Then without a moment of hesitation, he presses his lips against her warm soft lips. Their kiss was short, soft, and sweet.

Their kiss was short, soft, and sweet. When they were finished, they pulled away and just stared at each other. Toby touched his forehead to hers and smiled. She smiled back with a big toothy grin.

"You didn't run away this time," he teased.

"Oops, I knew I forgot something."

They both laughed then went in for another kiss.

Take me back to the creek bed we turned up Two A.M. running in your truck and all I need is you next to me

It's the summer after high school and Spencer and Toby are still going strong. Toby just graduated from high school and wants to celebrate with the girl he loves. Their families got together to celebrate his graduation. Later that night Spencer and Toby made plans to sneak out with each other down to the old creek they used to play at when they were young.

"Hurry up Spence," Toby whispered.

"I'm coming!"

Spencer was trying to sneak out of her house by climbing out her window from the second floor of her house. Toby was down below ready to catch her if she falls. Her foot slipped on a tree vine scaling her house and she would have fallen straight on her back if Toby didn't reach his arms out to catch her. Spencer landed safely in his arms and Toby helped her stand up straight.

"Very graceful," he teased.

She playfully smacked him on the chest. Toby smiled and reached for her hand. The two ran off and hopped in his truck. Toby parked his truck beside the river bed and the two laid out in the back of his truck looking up at the stars and listened to the crickets sing. It's getting late and both of their parents would kill them if they knew they were out this late together, but neither one of them found it in them to care.

"Hey Spence," Toby said.

She looked up at him, "yes?"

He played with her finger tips and bit down on his bottom lip.

"I love you."

Toby looked at her to see her reaction. Spencer just looked at him and smiled. She cupped his face with her hands and kissed him gently on the lips.

"I love you too," she whispered.

Toby smiled and kissed her back gently. Then he adjusted himself so his arms were around her and her head was resting on his chest. He leaned down to kiss her once on the forehead and the two fell asleep together. They're going to be in so much trouble for staying out late, but they don't care.

Take me back to the time we had our very first fight The slamming of doors instead of kissing goodnight You stayed outside til the morning light Oh my my my

"You are overreacting!" Spencer shouted while climbing up her porch steps.

Toby followed closely behind her.

"I am not!" he argued.

"You are too!"

"I have a right to be upset!"

"Not over something as ridiculous as this!"

"You don't think I should be upset about another guy looking at my woman!"

"I told you I wasn't interested in him!"

"That didn't stop him from looking at you!"

"Ugh!" she groaned. "I am done talking about this with you!"

"Maybe we should just be done talking forever then!"

"Fine!" she shouted.

"Fine!"

Spencer walked inside her house slamming her front door behind her. Toby stood back on her porch regretting what he just said. He didn't want to stop talking to her. He didn't ever want to stop talking to her. Spencer's his best friend. If she lost her as his girlfriend he would lose her as a friend too and he doesn't want that. Toby has to get in there and talk to her, but Spencer's so upset she's not going to want to speak with him right now. Toby fell asleep on the wooden bench sitting out on her porch waiting for her to come back out so they could talk things out. He's not ready to lose her. He loves her.

The next morning Spencer woke up feeling depressed after her fight with Toby. She cried herself to sleep that night and woke up with dried up mascara on her cheeks. When she walked out of her house this morning, she was surprised to see Toby asleep on her porch bench.

"Toby," she shook him awake.

Toby opened his eyes and sat up the second he saw Spencer.

"Spencer," he breathed out. "I-I'm sorry for last night. I was a jerk and I didn't mean what I said. You were right, I overeacted. I guess I was just afraid you would find someone better than me and realize I'm not good enough for you."

Spencer sat next to him and kissed him right on the lips.

She smiled and said, "I don't want anyone else but you. You're the only one I want. I love you and I'm sorry to."

He kissed her and leaned his forehead against hers.

"I love you too," he whispered.

They both smiled and hugged.

A few years had gone and come around We were sitting at our favorite spot in town And you looked at me, got down on one knee Take me back to the time when we walked down the aisle Our whole time came and our mamas cried You said I do and I did too

Five years have gone by and Spencer and Toby are still going strong. They're living together in a two-room apartment. Right now, Spencer and Toby are sitting at their favorite spot in town, which is a little outdoor ice cream shop that they used to go to all the time when they were kids. Toby was feeding Spencer bites of his oreo ice cream and she was feeding him her rocky road. The two smiled and laughed at how much fun they're having.

The later it got the more nervous Toby got. This evening, Toby is planning to do something that will change both of their lives forever. He's been thinking about doing this ever since Spencer got out of high school. Now they're both out of college and the timing seems right. To prepare himself, Toby made Spencer drop her napkin on purpose.

"Oops, I'll get it."

"Thank you," she smiled.

Toby bent down to pick up the napkin. Instead of retrieving the napkin, he got down on one knee and pulled out a black velvet box from his jean pocket. Spencer gasped once she realized what he was doing. Toby's eyes watered as he began his speech.

"Spencer," he spoke over the lump in his throat. "I remember the day I first saw you back when I was seven and you were nine. You showed up wearing this white sundress with black buckle up shoes. Your hair was down around your shoulders in nice loose curls. I couldn't get over the way your brown eyes looked in the sunlight. From the moment I first saw you, I knew you were something special to me. Growing up you were my best friend and you still are. When you turned sixteen that was the moment I realized that I was in love with you. Besides the fact I had a crush on you since I was nine. You have made my life so wonderful and I couldn't have asked for anyone better to be my best friend, my lover, and my wife. I want you to be my best friend forever. When I'm 89 and you'll be 87 we'll still be the young hot couple of friends we've always been. We'll be all old and still get on each other's nerves, but that's what makes us, us. I loved you when I first saw you. I loved you when you were sixteen and showed up at homecoming wearing that dress. I loved you yesterday. I love you today. I'll love you tomorrow and I'll love you forever. So will you do me the honor and be my best friend for the rest of my life?"

Toby opened up the book to reveal a white gold ring with a big diamond in the middle with diamond clusters on the gasped against when she saw it. Spencer started sobbing and nodded her head.

"Yes. That would be a yes. I'll be your best friend forever."

Toby smiled and stood up. He slid the ring on her finger. Spencer stood up from her seat and threw her arms around his neck. He kissed her lovingly on the lips and held her tightly in his arms. They're getting married. After all of theses years, they're finally getting married.

On November 6th, Spencer stood in her wedding dress waiting for the double doors to open and to being her walk down the aisle to her future. Peter walked up to her with a smile on his face. He had a glimpse of tears in his eye just looking at his little baby girl all dressed in white. The wedding march started playing from the otherside of the doors.

"You ready, sweetie?" Peter asked.

Spencer smiled and said, "I've been ready for fifteen years, dad."

Peter smiled. The double doors opened revealing a beautiful church filled with red, white, and pink flowers. Toby was standing at the alter looking down at his feet. His best man, Caleb nudged his shoulder to get his attention. Toby looked up and felt his heart stop the moment he saw Spencer. Spencer's wedding dressed resembled the little white dress she wore when she was seven on the day they first met. Accept her dress now is a little fancier. Her hair is down in loose curls just like it was back then. Her make up is darker than usaul, but she still looks amazing. Spencer literally took his breath away with each step she took.

Veronica and Marion sat in their seats drying their eyes with a handkerchief. They never thought they'd see the day when their two kids got married. All four of them watched those two grow up together and got to experience their real life love story. Now they're here at their wedding and it's the most beautiful thing they've ever witnessed.

Peter gave Spencer to away and did his part. Toby reached out for her hand and helped her step up. Spencer smiled at him when their eyes met again. The preacher began and the whole congregation was in tears. Aria was Spencer's maid of honor leaving Hanna, Emily, and her sister, Melissa to be her bridesmaids. Toby had a few of his friends like Ezra, his cousin, Ricky, and Lucas as his groomsmen. Melissa's three-year-old daughter, Taylor was the flower girl. Aria and Ezra's two-year-old son was the ring bearer.

Spencer gave Toby his ring and Toby gave Spencer her ring. The preacher said the famous line.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride."

Toby cupped one hand on her face and snaked his other arm around her waist. Then he dipped her and kissed her deeply. Their kiss lasted for a couple mintues. They only stopped when the need of air won them over. The two stepped away and grinned at each other.

"I now present Mr and Mrs. Cavanaugh!"

Everyone clapped and cheered for the couple. Tobypecked Spencer on the lips then grabbed her hand and walked back down the aisle.

Take me home where we met so many years before We'll rock our babies on that very front porch After all this time, you and I

Nine years have gone by and Spencer and Toby are still happily married. Right now they live in Toby's old parents house. Toby's parents moved to a smaller house down the street. Spencer and Toby have two kids right now. A four-year-old son, Ethan and a eight-month girl, Sutton. Right now they're all outside sitting on their front porch. Spencer is rocking Sutton in her arms while Toby and Ethan played with some of his race cars that they built together. Ethan looks so much like how Toby did when he was a kid and Sutton looks a lot like Spencer. The four of them are living a happy life together.

I'll be eighty-seven; you'll be eighty-nine I'll still look at you like the stars that shine In the sky, oh my my my...

Many years past and Spencer and Toby are still a happily married couple. Their son, Ethan grew up to be a construction worker just and built a family of his own. He married a pretty lady, Carla and the two had one daughter, Emma. Sutton grew up to be a dance teacher and opened up her own dance studio when she was seventeen. Sutton built a family of her own as well. She's married to a man named Brice and has two kids. Thayer and Loreal. Spencer and Toby couldn't be more proud of their children. Spencer and Toby just got done having dinner with their kids and grandkids. Emma is twelve. Loreal is the same age is Emma and Thayer's ten.

"Bye grandma, grandpa," Emma waved to them before climbing into her parents SUV.

"Have a safe trip home," Spencer said.

"We will mom," Sutton said.

Toby walked up behind Spencer and wrapped his arm around her. They watched their kids drive off into the sunset. Spencer leaned her head on Toby's shoulder and Toby kissed her pale forehead. Spencer smiled and looked up into those blue eyes that still shine brighter than all the stars in the sky.
