Out of the Darkness

Chapter 35

Shocking revelations

Harry was alone, completely alone; Simi had gone with Ash on his arm as usual, although lately she'd been spending a lot of time here and not a 'tattoo' as it were. There was no loud music or talking from the TV - usually QVC actually. He was half tempted to put the large wide screen TV on just to hear something in the background. He'd fallen asleep after he and Ash had some fun, he could still taste the remnants of blood on his tongue. Years ago he would have probably been repulsed, but it was just so bloody hot. Although Ash became odd after it, as if he didn't like having to drink blood - or maybe it was him he didn't like drinking from who knew? He certainly didn't and he hadn't asked, Ash had a lot of problems to deal with, he could just be thinking on other things or worse his past. He knew a lot due to reading his sisters diary but not everything.

Wandering through each room thoughtfully, well the ones he could get into at any rate, it was a good thing Ash had more money than sense since there were rooms filled with gems and such that Simi had no doubt bought over the years. A lot of years, he thought wryly as he exited a room that was piled high with jewellery boxes shaking his head in an amused fashion.

After a while he found himself in the main room, or that's what he liked to call it at least. It's where Ash liked to sit and Simi watched the TV, he still hadn't put a seat here yet, maybe he should. Grinning wickedly, he conjured the most disgusting red couch he could think of, he couldn't wait to see Ash's face! Especially considering nearly everything was sterile, blank, not that he minded too much his house had been the same - although it did have more colour than this.

His house…he had only been back a few times to take Margaret shopping, he wasn't sure what to do with it. They spent there time here, Ash had a flat as well but he'd only gone there a few times. Maybe he would be best to keep the property, even though his stuff was waiting in limbo for him to call them to himself.

Stiffening his resolve, Harry sat down on the comfortable couch he'd created, perhaps he should have gone with a better colour…ah, well he could change it after he got to see Ash's face, chortling slightly he conjured a blade, and sliced his palm, barely wincing at the pain as he concentrated fully, determined to master the ability to heal even if it killed him.

Although the way his magic was going it was going to do just that. Dark-Hunters were 'damned' and if the gods saw them they'd kill them. Did the same go for Ash, Savitar and himself? Did that mean he couldn't get in touch with Hecate? She might be able to help him understand what was going on with his magic. Which was hugely embarrassing to him, he hadn't had these sorts of problems since he was thirteen years old. Especially considering everyone around him seemed to have full control of their magic.

"C'mon," Harry said positively, trying to coax his magic to heal his hand, but nothing worked. It didn't even slow down the bleeding, cursing angrily, he pressed his jumper against the wound stopping the blood from dripping everywhere. Staring at it intently, imagining, no willing it to heal. "This is ridiculous!" Harry sighed; he was never going to get this. Magic had always come so easily to him too, he had produced a Patronus at the age of thirteen! Thirteen! When most adult wizards and witches had trouble with the spell. Yes, humiliation was definitely what he was feeling.

Glancing at the time, was it really only forty minutes since Ash left? It felt like a longer time than that. It wasn't in his nature to give in, so he continued to try, his anger mounting each second that passed without success.

Then a thought struck him, he was trying to use his magic, his normal magic…not god magic. How did you use it? Savitar had said it came naturally; Ash certainly had no trouble with it, well other than the times he promised not to heal himself. Merlin how he hated that bloody bitch, and the fact she was still alive. Unfortunately his attempts at finding the old gods of the sun and moon wasn't going as well as he would have liked. Than again they had been hiding for a very long time, it wouldn't be easy even for him. Could it be as simple as his magic trying to interfere with the healing process?

Frowning perturbed, both magicks were different, true, but enough that they were interfering? Shouldn't they have joined? Could it be what was also making his magic act up? It didn't seem likely not now, he'd been given that god power a while ago, it was only really recently that it felt different…it had definitely been his own magic when Takeshi got hit, but with Savitar the past few times had certainly not been his - could it have been his god magic? He just didn't know scratching at his chin thoughtfully, noticing the stubble, he would need to shave soon.

Closing his eyes tightly, he searched inside of himself, hoping to decipher both magicks and use the appropriate one to see if it was what was wrong or maybe right, he could hope. He spent ten minutes in a trance trying to do it, he failed, he couldn't tell the difference, but it seemed to him that both his magicks had indeed coalesced. Which led him to believe he might never have the ability to self heal, he just didn't understand it, his accidental magic had healed him all the time yes it took a while and was never immediate but it happened.

Then he felt a slither of magic, his eyes popped open in surprise, low and behold his palm was healed - just like that. All this time it had required him wishing it quite literally without pulling on his magic! Closing his eyes completely stunned, he'd bloody done it! Grinning widely, he sliced his palm again to see if it worked once more. It did. Testing it a few more times, each result was the same, it healed automatically.

Feeling accomplished, and extremely hungry, he liked his food but Ash didn't so he might as well go get something. Gumbo called to him, he'd become addicted to it from the first time he tried it, Sanctuary made the best he'd ever tasted…not that he'd tasted many. It had been a while since he'd seen everyone. Having made up his mind, he teleported to the darkened alleyway next to the Sanctuary pub.

"Hey, Dev!" Harry said in greeting seeing the Were-bear standing guard at the door as he usually was. He knew it was Dev by the bow and arrow tat, his way of mocking Artemis, plus he liked to screw with everyone's mind and the little fact he thought it was cool.

"Hi," Dev replied, staring at Harry intently, a curious yet confused look on his face.

"What's wrong with you?" Harry asked, sliding in the door, giving Dev his own curious look. It certainly wasn't the Were-Hunter's normal behaviour to put it bluntly.

"Nothing," Dev replied distractedly, still gazing at him shrewdly now.

Arching an eyebrow he shook his head, discarding Dev's probing, he was probably just trying to get him confused - well he had succeeded but he wasn't going to play whatever game he was up to. As amusing as it would be - he had learned Were-Hunters had a completely different sense of humour to him or rather humans.

"Hey, Aimee. You're busy," Harry commented looking around, eyeing the clientele knowing that an assortment of different people were here not just Were-Hunters, there wasn't a single Dark-Hunter either come to that - but other than Nick he hadn't seen one here so maybe it wasn't a popular spot for them.

"Yeah, they called in sick," Aimee grumbled, humans and their illnesses they caught so many different things - she was certainly glad she was immune to common human illnesses. It was annoying simply because it made her have to work twice as hard - especially during this time of night.

"Want a hand?" Harry enquired, watching her trying to serve everyone that was lined up at the bar. She was talking as she poured the beers and drinks they wanted, quite expertly but she'd been doing this for a long time.

"A hand?" Aimee echoed giving him a weird look.

"Er…my help." Harry said stifling his laughter.

"You don't mind?" Aimee asked, placing the drinks on the tray and accepting the money for them giving the man a nod to say thanks as he walked away from the counter. Quite quickly another filled his place telling Aimee what he would like. It was quite a list but she had no trouble remembering it.

"No, not as long as there's some Gumbo left behind for me," Harry replied, as he ducked under the counter and automatically began helping.

"Deal," Aimee said with a laugh, Harry liked his Gumbo and she knew what he wanted before he even asked for anything.

They worked together quite efficiently, quickly serving the drinks and serving the food, it wasn't long before there was a lull in customers. It was actually quite peaceful when you blocked but the loudness, as people sat in their booths or chairs having a good time without being over the top loud.

"Well, this wasn't exactly what I had planned," Harry chuckled in amusement as he leaned against the counter watching everyone without being obvious about it. He grabbed a beer from the bar, and began to drink it, technically you weren't allowed to drink on the job but it wasn't his job, he was only doing Aimee a favour.

"What did you have planned Harry?" Dev asked devilishly, putting an obvious emphasis on his name.

"You don't want to know," Harry smirked, gazing at him coolly. Turning to look at Aimee - who had the same look as Dev. This was seriously getting on his nerves, what the hell was wrong with them? Was it something Were-Hunters went through.

"Or should I say Harriett?" Dev said lowly, his eyes never wavering from Harry's.

Harry arched an eyebrow, okay it was official they were losing their minds either that or he had lost his mind small possibility of him having the oddest dream of his life. "Alright, what is up with you lot?" Harry asked, placing his drink down and leaning over the counter - this joke ended now. He didn't mind the joking, but not when he was going out of his way to help them.

Dev and Aimee looked at each other, as if they were silently communicating.

Harry rolled his eyes and picked up his drink, maybe he should just have his Gumbo and go, and he was actually beginning to feel tired now.

"Were you born a girl?" Dev asked bluntly.

Harry immediately regretted taking a drink as he began to choke and splutter at them incoherently. "What?" Harry managed to rasp out after regaining his equilibrium. "No!"

Dev and Aimee stared pensively.

"Why did you think that?" Harry squeaked out in a very unmanly manner. Did he look like a bloody girl? He didn't think he'd been more insulted in his entire life, and that was saying a lot. Was it because they thought Ash was straight? They didn't know about Artemis, not many people did, from what he understood only a human squire did but he couldn't remember her name and him, as well as Artemis' servants or whatever they were called.

"You're pregnant," Aimee said softly, as if it could somehow soften the blow.

Harry burst out laughing, slapping his fist against the counter hooting out his amusement. "Good one." Harry commented dryly, as he wiped fake tears from his eyes. Although he did stop short when he noticed their expressions hadn't changed, he waited for them to start laughing at him but they didn't. Harry's mouth twisted as he stared, bloody Were-Hunters, although he couldn't help but acknowledge that Aimee had never taken part in the jokes Dev perpetrated.

"Harry we aren't kidding," Aimee told him, "Come on, Dev mind the bar!" diving out she dragged Harry with her taking him up to Carson's office, Harry realized this quite quickly since it was the same directions she took when he first came here. He couldn't help but grin as he remembered his indignant squeak of 'I'm not an animal!' if only he'd known nearly everyone in the establishment were in fact animals disguised as humans. He sobered up quite quickly, when Aimee began talking quite animatedly with Carson, they really were serious, and they honestly thought he was pregnant. It was probably just his magic, there was no way he was pregnant, and he was a guy for Merlin's sake - in other words totally impossible.

He barely heard their conversation, as he stood there feeling decided ill. Wht could be wrong with his magic that it was making his scent change to that of a woman? Or apparently a pregnant woman.

Yep you all guessed right :) Harry IS pregnant! Is it bad of me that I cannot remember the names of Ash's kids? Other than Simi and Katra!? LOL I'll need to look it up and come to an idea for names :) I'd love to have it something unique like most names in the Dark-Hunter world :) definitely nothing ordinary :D boy or girl? which would Ash be more protective off do you think? still haven't killed Apollo or Artemis but there's nothing in the books that say how they can die or where the other gods of the sun and moon are...i'm going to have to wing it :) hopefully you'll like the outcome lol
