A/N: HChen . RavenFeather, not to worry. Chika's tats are actually going to make another appearance and this time you will def see what they were – at least one of them. I had to reunite Yuuta with Greg because he deserved a happy ending too. After putting up with his family, everyone deserves a medal. LOL. Enjoy the new chapter. Only a few more left and then we will wrap this one up. I promise to show you them through the years though.
Chapter 34 – A Few Assumptions about Graduating
Everything seemed to wrap itself up in a nice neat little bow. Everyone had their happy endings – well, except for any idiot that tried to defy the Host Club and their friends – Haruhi and Chika were set to be married at some point in time in the future, and everyone was happy.
Over the course of the past several months, since the couple had been separated by campuses, Haruhi and Chika had carried the burden of stress. When would they see each other? How would they make it work? Would Tamaki, Hikaru, and Kaoru manage to accidentally murder them when their backs were turned, or while they were facing them eye to eye (granted it would/might be an accident)? So many questions, and while they tried not to let the stress weigh them down, they could see how it affected them both, and their friends could see it as well. Hindsight was indeed 20/20, because as they thought back on everything they went through, they realized there were other interferences that made their lives a living hell (kind of). So many things tried to come between them, to tear them apart, and they still prevailed. There were other things more important and concerning than attending different campuses for a year, and now the biggest question they had was when would they be able to go a whole year without having to deal with complete psychos? Of course that didn't include their friends, since let's face it, their friends were not exactly sane.
Luckily, after they had dealt with Kame, the Kondo family, clearing Greg's name, and the backlash/gossip of the whole ordeal (mainly after Kyoya cleaned everything up), the year finally quieted down for the couple and the rest of the hosts. The term marched on for everyone, and now that they didn't worry about the small things, everything seemed to move a lot more smoothly. That's not to say Tamaki and his twin cohorts didn't create stir when they made false assumptions such as Satoshi was having a threesome with Chika and Haruhi when they heard that the three woke up in the same bed together. The truth was, they had made a pallet in the theatre room and had fallen asleep during a movie. There was also the assumption that Mori was actually older than they thought and he was a hired assassin. They could never come up with who he was supposed to be assassinating and they didn't want to believe his birth certificate was real. Or how about the assumption that Kyoya had already entered a marriage arrangement. The truth was that he escorted a business partner's daughter around town because she was set to attend Ouran the following year… her first year of high school, and she is actually engaged to Fuyumi's brother-in-law. There was also the rumor that Tamaki had fallen in love with Hikaru and Kaoru and they were having an illicit affair… wait a second. No, that was just a rumor the other hosts started because they were tired of the assumptions.
So many assumptions and issues had been faced by the Host Club throughout the years, and still they came out on top... barely. Of course most of the assumptions were made by the troublesome trio, who were exceedingly blessed and lucky they were able to remain in Japan; that being said, in a way - a small, minute, almost non-existent way, the assumptions helped to bring everyone closer together. Those assumptions taught them to communicate better, to be open, and not to believe everything everyone says. Life would always throw them a curveball or two, but all nine members of the Ouran High School Host Club knew they could handle anything they were faced with… and if not, they knew Kyoya would conjure a brilliant plan to save them all - everyone just had to remember that they couldn't ask too many questions. It was always safer not to know everything when it came to the Shadow King of Ouran.
As the school year came to a close with only those "minor" assumptions made by the trio, Satoshi and Chika prepared for their graduation. And then, a week before they graduated, a rumor started to spread around the school that the Hitachiin twins were going to do something big during the ceremony. No one seemed to be sure what it was or when it would happen, they only knew Hikaru and Kaoru had something planned. Normally, the younger hosts did not allow themselves to believe rumors or make assumptions about anyone – after what Tamaki and the twins put them through, they tried hard not to fall into that pit trap – however, given who the rumor mill was discussing, it wasn't too farfetched to believe the twins would try something during the graduation ceremony. In fact, the two third years were pretty sure that it was a god given fact if the masses said it would happen, then it was a 99% chance that the devil types were plotting something… but what?
Refusing to allow the twins to interrupt or wreak havoc on their big day, the pre-graduates decided to go on the offensive, and by doing so they would take out Hikaru and Kaoru before the mischievous mirror images could enact their own plans. After obtaining permission from their instructors to miss the last two classes for the day, and with the Host Club already closed for the year, the karate captain and kendo captain departed Ouran and went on a short journey to a certain college campus across town.
The pranksters didn't know what hit them. One minute they were walking towards their limo and then nothing. Everything went black, however, just before that they both thought they saw their younger friends running towards them... must have been a trick of the sun.
Groaning, they slowly opened their eyes and found themselves staring at their perfect copy. Their heads felt like they had been walloped with a sledgehammer. Where were they? What had happened? They had been behaving, so their capture couldn't have been related to Kyoya. Then who? A rival company? Someone affiliated with the Kondo family? Were they about to die?
"Breathe. It'll be alright," Hikaru reminded his brother trying to believe the dictate he was spewing for himself. He just hoped his brother was eating it up because he couldn't seem to convince himself.
Their arms were tied behind their backs and their feet were tied at the ankles. The stone floor beneath them was both cool and slightly damp, and the room where they had been stashed was dank, dark, and musty. When the older twin spoke, the room sounded more like cave than something inside, and the only light came from one window sitting towards the top of the ceiling that couldn't have been bigger than one foot by one foot. A heavy oak door could barely be seen in the waning light. And after slowly surveying the room, they found nothing else around them. The room was empty except for their own bodies. Just where they hell were they? Would they die without anyone knowing? Were their friends searching for them even now? Had the other hosts been captured as well?
"Who do you think…?" Kaoru whispered his question.
Shaking his head, Hikaru answered, "I have no idea."
"I thought I saw Yasuchika and Satoshi coming towards us."
"It couldn't be them. They wouldn't do something this dramatic. Kyoya-senpai would, but we haven't done anything lately."
"That's true. And they were the ones that spread that rumor, so this would be overkill."
"Us with the boss?" The older teen shivered at the thought.
"Yah,"
Together they said, "No, thank you."
"So if not Kyoya-senpai, then who?" The younger man asked.
"I don't know. Mom and dad haven't gotten any threats lately. They would have told us."
Kaoru agreed with a grunt and lay there in silence thinking about their predicament before he said, "I want out of here… and some aspirin. My head."
"I agree. If we both flip over, maybe we can loosen the knots on our hands."
"Worth a shot…" The younger twin turned over as his brother did and after a few minutes, he quietly stated, "I'm worried."
"Me too. Let's just try to get the ropes off and then we can decide what to do."
The knots were impossible to undo without seeing them. Whomever had tied them had been a master, and the twins were at a loss. What were they going to do? The light was quickly fading away, which told them the sun was setting. How long had they been in there? It was impossible to tell how long they had been unconscious and they had been awake with pounding headaches for at least an hour now, and still no one came to them. Hikaru was at the end of his tether as he screamed, "You bastards! Why the hell do you have us here? Who are you?"
"Hikaru, calm down," Kaoru pleaded. Although he too wanted to know who was behind this heinous crime, he also knew they had to keep a calm and clear head because there was no telling who they were dealing with.
Sounds of wood scraping against stone filled the small cell and captured the attention of both prisoners. Whipping their heads at the same time, their eyes fell upon the two most unlikely kidnappers they ever expected to see, "Satoshi? Yasuchika?"
"No," Hikaru shook his head gently to try and clear it without causing more pain.
"It couldn't be," Kaoru added as he closed his eyes tightly and then opened them again. Blinking in order to try and get rid of the impossible vision.
"Nothing is going to change. It really is us," Yasuchika announced rolling his eyes. Did these two really believe he and his cousin were so incapable of doing something like this?
"Yasuchika and I decided we needed to have a private word with you," Satoshi smirked.
Mouths gaping, the twins looked at each other before turning their gazes back to their captors and then back to each other. Their mouths were opening and closing without any sounds or words escaping. Five minutes later, Hikaru finally gathered his wits and snapped, "What the hell is this? You kidnapped us for a fucking chit chat? There are other ways to go about getting us together for a discussion!"
Nodding, Chika agreed with the statement, but then a conniving smile appeared, "True, but not nearly as much fun, and a normal get together would never teach you two a lesson you desperately need."
"Wait! What is going on here? What did we do to you?" Kaoru demanded to know.
"It isn't what you have done, but what you are planning to do," Satoshi explained.
"That makes no sense."
"Then let me expand. There is a rumor going around the school that you two have something planned for our graduation. Seeing as Yasuchika is the valedictorian and I am the salutatorian, we would prefer that you not try anything to interfere with the ceremony. We had a feeling if we had met normally, you would have smile and denied everything and then carried through with your plans anyway."
The twins gaped, and then Hikaru fumed, "So you just assumed that we were guilty and kidnapped us?"
"That is correct," Chika responded.
"Idiots!" Hikaru and Kaoru grumbled together.
"What was that?"
"We aren't really planning anything. As members of the Host Club, the boss and everyone else are planning a party for you, and that's it. Unless you want to include the banner we are making for you because the boss told us to make one. We are planning to hang it up at the ceremony," Kaoru spoke up irritated.
Hikaru continued, "We are also planning on getting there early to save seats for everyone as we are all intending to be present for your big day. I think the boss has even been asked to speak… for some reason. For him, we were planning on using poppers during the speech. You know, the ones that shoot out streamers."
"That's it?" Chika and Satoshi prodded together. Had they really gone overboard? No. This was Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin. Surely they had something else up their sleeves. Why else would Kyoya help them with their plan and lend them a dungeon room? They didn't even want to contemplate why he had a dungeon to begin with.
"That's it," the twins said together.
Rolling his eyes, Hikaru told them, "You assumed that the rumor was true and we would be doing something nefarious."
"While we admit that our reputations are probably not the best when it comes to pranks, we would never do anything to ruin your graduation…" Kaoru said.
The twins glanced at each other and then proclaimed, "Well, not to you specifically. Just the boss." Under their breath they mumbled, "And you get onto us for making stupid assumptions…"
"I believe you now know how it feels," a voice sounded inside the room.
Sweat dropping and turning almost white, the twins exclaimed, "Kyoya-senpai?"
"That would be correct. When Satoshi and Yasuchika came to me and informed me of the rumors, I agreed to help in their little endeavor so that you two could learn a very important lesson."
If they could have, Hikaru and Kaoru would have face palmed, however, tied hands did not stop the two high school third years from participating in a face palm. They had been had.
"Hikaru, Kaoru, let this be a lesson to you. Do not make any more assumptions, and if you do anything at graduation, you will become very familiar with this room."
"But what about the boss?" The twins whined.
Kyoya sat in a control room and pushed up his glasses as he smirked, "By all means, have fun."
Satoshi and Chika sweat dropped again. Never! They never wanted to be on Kyoya's bad side.
"Satoshi, Yasuchika, please release the twins. I believe they have learned their lesson. Meet me upstairs and we will join the others for dinner. Hikaru, Kaoru, I recommend keeping this whole experience to yourselves… or else."
"N-N-No problem," the mirror images agreed, slight panic setting in once again.
A week later, true to their word, the twins did no more than what they had confessed inside that cell. They were a little jumpy around Kyoya for a while, but everyone attributed it to the fact that they were plotting something and were probably on the verge of getting caught. Only the five hosts involved with the kidnapping knew the real truth.
