Sooo major fail on my part not updating in nearly a month, but school's been more stressful than I'd expected, and I had to help a family member through some personal issues, but I'm back now! I hope to finish this fic before Halloween. We're in the last bit now, Amy and Penny's resolution (no pun intended) is imminent, and then basically all we have left to get done is the wedding.

Bernadette and Gilda were both preparing food for their New Year's Eve party when Bernadette's laptop started beeping, indicating a Skype call.

"Gilda, can you get that?" Bernadette asked.

"Not if it's Howard," Gilda said, taking off her oven mitts, "I'm still scarred from last time."

"Howard's asleep in the bedroom," Bernadette said.

"That's what we thought last time."

"Would you answer the damn call?" the smaller woman said, turning around with the oven lighter in her hand.

Gilda jumped back. "It's Penny," she announced. "I don't think we'll have the problem we had last time." She hit 'answer with video' and smiled. "Hey, Penny, what's going on?"

"Bernadette!" Penny called, trying to get the blonde to come over to the screen.

Gilda feigned hurt. "I'm Gilda."

"You sound like Savannah. Bernadette!"

"I'm coming!" she said fiercely. "Do you want this food cooked or not?"

"She's adorable when she's like this," Gilda said. Penny grinned.

"Damn right I am!" Bernadette responded. She pulled a chair up next to Gilda and settled down on it. "What's up?" she asked, suddenly cheerful.

Penny bit her lip. "Well…"

"Oh my God, you're pregnant again," Gilda said.

"No no no," Bernadette said, "I'm thinking you and Leonard decided to get married tonight."

"Sheldon and Amy are coming to our party."

"Really?" Bernadette said, a grin coming over her face. "How did that happen?"

"Savannah went down to see them this morning. Amy brought her back a few minutes ago, and…" Penny shrugged. "I invited them. She said they'd come."

"So," Gilda said slowly, "are you guys…friends again?"

"We'll see," Penny said. "I…I really don't know. But she wants to hang out with us, so that's something, right?"

"Definitely," Gilda said. "She's been an object at rest, and now she's been put into motion. And an object in motion tends to stay in motion."

"See?" Bernadette said. "You two will make up, and then we'll all be friends again. It's Newtonian."

Penny wondered if it would be Sheldon or Amy at the door. Leonard had returned not ten minutes after he left, announcing to her that Savannah was indeed inside 4A. He could hear Amy talking to her in a low voice, but couldn't make out what had been said. "But she didn't sound angry," Leonard said. "So if this doesn't work, at least it won't be taken out on our daughter."

"I hope this works," Penny said, stepping toward Leonard and letting him wrap his arms tightly around her. "I miss her so much."

"I know, I know," Leonard said, rocking her gently. "It's going to be okay."

"Now we just have to pass some time," Penny said, sighing. She pulled her head back and looked at him. "Anything new with you?"

Leonard thought. "Not really. You?"

"Not really. I did hear from an old acting friend last night."

"Oh yeah? How's he doing?"

Penny smirked. "Well, on one level, really well. He got a part in the new Joey Tribbiani movie."

Leonard's eyes widened. "Really?"

"Yep!"

"Who's he playing?"

"He's Joey's butt double."

Leonard blinked. "What?"

"Like, Joey's character is naked in the movie, and Rob's his butt double."

"Well hey, it's a part in the Joey Tribbiani movie, so who's complaining?" Leonard asked.

"Not Rob!" Penny said. "He calls me up all 'I got the part! I'm Joey Tribbiani's ass!'"

Leonard laughed. "Good for him!"

"So yeah, that's all my news," Penny said, shrugging. "Unless you want to know that I almost busted the trash bag taking it out yesterday."

"Not nearly as exciting as the butt double news."

"Well, it's all I got," Penny said. "Want to make out?"

"Always."

Ada began crying within minutes, and Penny sighed. "Well, just consider this a prologue to what we'll hopefully be doing in the laundry room tonight," Leonard said. "I'll get Ada, you just relax."

"Relax?"

He gave a laugh. "As much as you can."

When Leonard didn't return from the girls' room, Penny got worried. She walked quickly down the hall and looked inside to discover Ada listening intently while Leonard read to her from a children's book. God, I'm paranoid today, she thought, heading back into the living room.

When the knock came, Penny jumped. It sounded so much louder than she'd expected. When she opened the door, there was Amy, holding Savannah in her arms, greeting Penny with a smile. "Hey."

Penny swallowed. "Hey. Hey, Savvy."

"Hi Mommy," Savannah said. "Aunt Amy says…"

"Sweetheart," Amy said, quieting the girl, "why don't you let me and your mommy talk real fast?"

Savannah nodded. "Okay!" Amy set her down, and the two women watched the girl run off.

"How are you doing?" Penny asked, wringing her hands.

Amy nodded. "I'm alright. Sheldon and I have been working on a few independent projects, you know, just for something to do."

"Oh, cool. Yeah, Leonard and I…we saw my parents, stuff like that. There's…there's that New Year's Eve party tonight at Howard and Bernadette's…"

"Yeah," Amy said, clearing her throat. "I heard about that. Bernadette invited us. We weren't going to go…"

"You totally should," Penny said. "I mean, if…if you want to."

"I think we might," Amy said. "I've missed…"

"Savannah misses you a lot," Penny blurted.

Amy nodded. "Yeah, I've missed everyone. We'll be there. It starts at seven?"

"Yep."

Amy nodded. "Okay. She gave Penny a smile and then turned to go.

"Amy!"

Amy turned. "Yeah?"

"I'm glad you guys are going to be there. We're not the same without you."

Amy's smile grew ever so slightly. "I'm really starting to see that I'm the same way. We'll talk tonight?"

Penny nodded.

Penny and Amy will have a proper discussion. It will take place in the next chapter.
