Hey, guys. Sorry for the really long wait, but I hope you like this chapter. I'm writing a whole different story. Like, one of my own, so I won't be updating as often.
Annabeth's POV
I'll admit, I was freaking out. It was Saturday morning, and I was rushing to get ready. Even though I knew that Percy and I weren't going to be alone, Coral, Nico, Piper, Jason, and more of our friends were going to be there, I was nervous. I spent a half an hour just deciding what to do with my hair. I ended up just putting it up.
"When's he gonna get here?" Matthew whined.
"Matthew, it's only eight in the morning. He won't be here until nine," I told him.
"UGH!" He ran upstairs.
"Jeez. You have one impatient brother," I told Bobby, who was sitting on the couch with me, watching TV.
"Yeah. And you're face looks really funny right now," he said. I was wearing one of those spa face masks that had to be on for a half an hour.
"Ha ha. I'll wash it off in," I looked at my owl watch, "twenty minutes."
"So I have to put up with a green-faced-half-sister for twenty more minutes?" he asked.
"Yup," I said, smiling. "You'll just had to keep looking at the TV."
"Maybe I will!"
I laughed. "You do that," I said.
"Don't laugh at me!"
"I'm not laughing at you, Bobby. I'm laughing with you," I told him.
"No. You're laughing at me!" he exclaimed.
"Believe what you want," I said.
"Shut up, the show's back on," he told me. I laughed again.
For some weird reason, Bobby liked to watch the show, My Little Pony. I would never admit this to any of my friends, but it's actually a pretty amusing show. I watched how the pink pony, Pinkie Pie, decided to clone herself by looking into a mirror pool.
"What is this teaching you?" I asked Bobby. "That it's OK to clone yourself?"
"That it's not OK to clone yourself," he said.
"So you've seen this episode before?" I asked.
"Yeah. This one is SO season three!" he said, making me laugh.
"Wow. You really know this show."
"I only started watching it because Erica likes it, and I want something to talk to her about."
"So you chose My Little Pony?"
"Admit it. You like this show."
"Never," I said, realizing that I basically just admitted that I liked the show.
Bobby snickered. Either he had caught my play on words, or he was watching a funny part in the show. Either one was possible. "So is this what you guys are going to be talking about at the amusement park?" I asked him.
"Maybe. I'm actually almost done watching the entire series of episodes. Only, like, three episodes left!"
"Okay, then. I know what I'm getting you for your birthday," I mumbled.
When the doorbell rang, Bobby and Matthew ran to the door like a couple of puppies. They fought about who was going to open the door. Before their fight even started, I opened the door.
"Hey, Percy," I said.
"'Hey, Percy?' that's all I get?" he asked as he and his sister, Erica came inside.
"For now," I said, then led him to the couch.
"Where are your parents?" he asked, as we sat down.
"Out of town," I told him.
"Now back to My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, on Hub Network" the TV announced.
Erica gasped as Percy groaned. "Not THIS show again!" he groaned.
Erica shrieked. "YAY! I LOVE this show!"
"I know," Percy said. "Which is why I'm changing it to Big Time Rush." Percy changed the channel to Big Time Rush.
"Really? You would rather watch this than My Little Pony?" I asked him.
"Hmm...You've got a point," he said, the changed the channel back to My Little Pony.
"So when are we gong to leave?" Matthew asked.
"Five minutes," Percy said, looking at his wrist.
"You don't have a watch on, Percy," I pointed out.
"So? It just felt right," he said, then laughed at something Rainbow Dash did.
"Dork," I said.
"What'd you just call me?" he asked.
"You heard me," I said, smirking.
"Oh yeah?" he said, then started tickling me.
I started squirming around, laughing as he tickled me. My head fell on his lap as I started kicking the air.
"Ugh!" Matthew said. "Can we go already?"
Percy stopped tickling me, looked up at Matthew, and laughed. "Okay. I guess we can go, since...er...Matthew?...is getting impatient," Percy said, then got up. Unfortunately, my head was still on his lap as he got up, so I fell onto the floor.
"Seaweed brain,"I muttered, then stood next to Percy.
As we were walking out the door, Percy whispered in my ear, "We'll finish this later."
I looked at him, and said, "I hope not."
It took a half an hour, but we finally made it to Adventureland. We walked up to the entrance gates. Percy and I had this big fight about who was going to pay. We ended up agreeing on Percy paying entrance fee, and I pay for lunch. I wasn't exactly satisfied, but this was one of those times where I have to let other people do things for me. I can't handle everything on my own.
Once we got into the amusement park, we took a look around. Bobby and Matthew kept pointing at rides, and saying, "I wanna go on that one!" and "That one looks cool!".
"Where should we start?" Percy asked.
"We shouldn't start until the others get here," I said, then led them to a bench. It wasn't long before we saw Jason and Piper. They came over and sat down.
"Who are the kids?" Jason asked. "Besides Erica, I mean."
"Those are my brothers Bobby and Matthew. Well, stepbrothers." I told him.
"So, the one dating Erica is...," Piper said.
"Bobby," I said. "The one who likes Thalia is Matthew."
"What!" Jason asked.
"Funny story, actually," I said. "She followed me home one day after school, I think it was the first day of school, and she met my stepbrothers. Matthew liked her instantly. Is she usually an instantly likable person? I mean, besides when she met me. I think all people are annoying at first, especially when they interrupt me when I'm reading, and try to set me up with her cousin, even though I've only met him once."
"Uh...okay. To answer the question you had in that speech somewhere: usually, people do like her at first. Until they get to know her, or unless she annoys them on the spot, like she did to you. Usually those people don't become her friends, most likely her enemy, but I guess it was different with you. Of course, she's my sister, and I think she's annoying a lot, so I don't know if my opinion counts."
"And you say she talks a lot," Percy mumbled, then said, louder this time, "I agree with everything but the likable part. So, just annoying."
"Watch it, dude," Jason growled. "If it weren't for Thalia, you and Annabeth wouldn't be dating."
"Hey! Leave me out of this!" I protested.
"Annabeth, I hate to break it to you, but you're the one who started this conversation," Piper said, touching my arm.
"Nu uh. I mean, sure I asked Jason a question, but I didn't expect him to answer it. And even if he did, I didn't expect that one," I pointed at Percy, "to butt in."
"Hey! If I get the opportunity to insult any of my cousins, I'll do it," Percy said.
I rolled my eyes, and turned to come face to face with Thalia. I screamed and fell back onto Percy's lap for the second time today, but for an opposite reason. Thalia was laughing so hard by the time I got over my shock. Everyone else was laughing, too, even the kids. Piper was on the ground laughing, so I guess I accidentally kicked her off the bench.
"What'd you do that for?" I asked.
"To scare you. Since I'm so annoying," she said, glaring at Percy.
"You'd say the same about me," he said.
She shrugged and said, "Probably," then turned to Erica. "So, Erica. What ride do you want to ride first?"
"I don't know. I know of this cool ride that I'm just tall enough to ride, so I was hoping to get to that one today."
"We probably will," I said. "Knowing Percy, we'll probably go on all of the rides, even the little kiddie rides."
"Yeah," Erica sighed. "I just hope Coral is late enough that we only get to go on the good rides today, and not many kiddie rides."
"Hey, come here," I said. she came over, and I whispered in her ear, "If you don't want to go on the kiddie rides, tell Percy you're getting tired before you go on one. I know you're a good actress, living with Percy all of these years, you should be a natural."
She looked at me with wide eyes and a smile on her face. "That's a great idea Annabeth!" she said, then gave me a big hug. I laughed.
"I'll text Coral and tell her to be a little late, then we'll blame her tardiness on Nico." I said.
"Are they dating?" Erica asked, slipping in between Thalia and me on the bench.
"Yeah. They've liked each other since they had met. They were just very oblivious to it. Until they went to the dance together. That's when they started going out."
"Nico has been happier when he comes over," Erica said.
"Yeah. Nico started changing in a good way since they started going out. Smiling and laughing more, be more sociable," I said, then paused. "Do you even understand some of the words I say?"
"Much more than Percy does." I laughed. "Must have gotten your dad's genes, huh?"
"Yeah. I just look like my mommy. Everything else is Daddy."
"I understand that Paul is your dad, but is Sally your mom?" I asked her.
"No. I don't know where Mommy is, but Daddy said he would tell me when I'm older," Erica said. "But sometimes, I like to pretend that Sally is my mommy."
"That's a good mommy to have," I said.
We stayed quiet, listening to Thalia and Percy fighting about which jam tastes better on toast (don't ask, they fight about the weirdest things). "When you and Percy get married, will I be the flower girl?" Erica asked.
That caught me off guard. "If we do, then yeah. You'll be the flower girl."
She smiled. "You're already thinking about marrying him," she said.
"You brought the question up."
"You answered almost immediately, like you didn't have to think about it."
"Of course I wouldn't have to think about about it. You're the only little girl I know."
"It's okay with me if you marry him," she said.
"Oh? Do I have your blessing now? Well that's not going to happen for a long time. If we get married," I said.
"You are going to marry him. I just know it."
"Oh, so now you can see the future?" I asked her.
"Maybe. Maybe not. You'll never know," she said, then got up and ran toward Bobby and Matthew.
I laughed. Percy looked at me. "Are you sure you gave Coral the right time? She's usually never late. If anything, she's early," Percy said.
"Don't forget," Thalia said, "Death Breath is with her, and he's usually always late."
"That's true. He's probably trying to look nice for this date he's going on," Percy said.
"I never knew Nico could look nice, but his clothes are starting to get...nicer since he started going out with Coral," Thalia said.
"Thalia," I said, "don't tease them too much, okay? I don't know what she'll do, but I do know that Coral is sensitive about stuff like that. She already has to deal with Rachel."
"I should have the right to tease her! She called me Katniss Everdeen! But I do praise her for calling Jason Prim. That was awesome."
"She was joking around because you got a bow. It was a pretty good joke. Who'd you get that from, anyway?" I asked her.
"My dad. Every now and then, he sends money and sometimes presents," she said.
"What did Jason get?"
"My Little Pony dolls."
"What is up with people and My Little Pony right now?" I asked.
"I don't know. It's getting really popular right now. Oh, and he correct term for Jason would be Brony."
"Brony?" I asked, then held up my hand. "I don't want to know."
"What! Annabeth Chase doesn't want to know something? It's a miracle!" Thalia exclaimed.
"Can you blame me?"
"No. I guess not. I guess you would want to learn what it is on your own, and not have other people tell you. Just like you are."
"What ever," I said, then turned to see the one thing I didn't want to see today.
Finally! I was trying to find a good cliffhanger! I was just having too much fun with Thalia there! Again, I'm sorry for not updating sooner. It's been forever, I know. But, as I said, I'm writing my own story, so updates won't be as often. Hope you enjoyed it.
