Chapter 35
C.E. 74, September 25
Time: 19 00 hours
Venue: Aprilius City, West Zone - Jule's Residence
Yzak ventured into the dining room, to find his whole family gathered around for a family reunion dinner and quirked an eyebrow skeptically - at the sight.
"Erm ... what's the occasion - today ? Anyone cared to tell me why the whole family was gathered around, for today ? " Yzak spoke up, as he became the center of attention - as soon as he stepped into the dining room area.
The maid hurried to get him his bowl of rice, and set them down next to his wife - Michelle. The twins were both present, and exceptionally obedient during the dinner session; that caused Yzak's eyebrow to raise further.
Usually, those two - especially Miguel would be running all over the place, trying to avoid the maids' whom were rushing after him with his dinner.
"Oh ... nothing, just that your paternal uncle had just gotten a raise in his salary and was exceptionally happy.
So he decided to drop by and pay us a visit - and Yzak, what's in that bag of yours ? " Eriza Jule frowned, upon sighting the bag of take-away roasted chicken wings which Yzak had taken the liberty to purchase from the restaurant - earlier.
Yzak blinked, and replied matter-of-factly. "Oh ... nothing, just some chicken wings I had taken the liberty to buy from the restaurant situated at the top level of the Aprilius Sky Tower ... "
With that said, he handed the bag of take-away food to the maid - nearby, and sat down for his own dinner.
"I see ... " Eriza murmured, before the dinner session resumed with the latest addition of Yzak Jule.
After dinner session, the Jule's family members were gathered around in the living room discussing topics and updating one another, on their latest happenings around themselves. Michelle, on the other hand, busied herself with the twins - getting them ready for their bedtime.
The whole dinner session, had been a torture to her - while she could get along well enough with Eriza Jule, does not means she could tolerate the rest of the Jule's family members. With Eriza Jule, at least they could still talk about politics, financial system of the country, and most of all - about the twins and Yzak.
However, with the rest of the Jule's family members - topics surrounding politics and country's financial abilities were to be cut down to a minimum.
Thus, most of the time - she ended up being the listener while the rest does the talking. After getting the twins ready for their bedtime, Michelle retreated back to Yzak's room - and get ready the things she will need for her morning shift, the following morning.
Yzak joined her, soon after - causing her to lift an eyebrow at the former and asked.
"Why are you up here - this early ? Aren't you going to hang around your rarely seen relatives - tonight ?"
Yzak shrugged, and responded. "No ... you know how I'm like ... Ask me anything of politics - I cannot answer them. Ask me anything of Military - I can answer, but the technical terms will bore them to sleep ...
However, what I cannot stand most - was their opinions on the Clyne Faction and Lacus Clyne's idealism of peace and harmony. They says what they wanted - they had their own views and opinions on Naturals and the Alantic Federation ...
I know they avoided the topic in front of you - but the moment, you leave their sight ... the topic was brought up - again.
I swear, if I heard another opinion about the Clyne Faction or about Naturals - in general, I will explode. Sometimes, I had to hand it in to my mother - for being able to stomach those conversations with them ...
Thank god, they lived in the City of March - not Aprilius, I doubt I can survive a regular reunion session with them! "
Michelle hugged her husband in sympathy and understanding, as she responded. "I know ... its' hard to sit through those session without exploding - I understand, perfectly. I used to have the same problem with Melissa, and the Seirans' family members as well.
Luckily, Melissa was no longer that biased on the subject of Coordinators - nowadays. Else, I would have exploded each time I attempted to start a conversation with her ... "
Yzak sighed, before turning the conversation away from such troubling topics and brought up the earlier incident at the restaurant - between Dearka and Mirialla Haw, instead.
Michelle listened attentively to Yzak's words - and grinned upon Clarinda Elthman's scheme of getting Dearka and her elder sister - together.
"Well ... that's good, knowing my sister's characteristics and personality, Dearka will have a hard time woo-ing her, without his parents' help.
After all, if there's anything my sister had a weak resistance towards - it would be the advices of the adults. " Michelle commented, before turning her attention back to the reports she had called upon from the data system - with the intention to read through them before tomorrow approached.

Time: 22 00 hours
Venue: Aprilius City, Elthman's Residence
Mirialla tossed and turned on the bed situated in the guest room of the Elthman's Residence, she had initially the intention to return back home, after the dinner - or at least, stay the night over at the Aymans'.
Yet, Clarinda Elthman had insisted upon her staying the night - and she does not have the heart to turn down the former's request. Therefore, had chose to oblige the former's decision for her to stay the night - at their residence.
Just then, a crack sounded throughout the mansion - and Mirialla sprang up in bed, startled. Heading out to check on the situation, the thought of her being unfamiliar with the floor plan of the Elthman's Residence failed to register in her mind. She had nearly tumbled and fell down the stairways - when she walked into someone's chest, a male - to be exact.
Thankfully, that someone had reached out in time to pull her back - preventing her from felling down the stairs. However, it would seemed that the force applied while pulling her back had been a little too strong.
Thus - the result ended up with Mirialla crashing atop of her rescuer, their lips meeting one another with an accidental kiss.
"Dearka ?!" Mirialla started, upon realizing whom was below her - as she pulled away from the former, in a hurry. Her cheeks flaming upon the realization of their accidental kiss, when she crashed atop of the former.
Dearka, on the other hand, winced upon the sound of his head hitting the ground below him. Rubbing the spot where the pain was, Dearka narrowed his eyes upon the brunette opposite of him - and half growled in annoyance.
"Mirialla ? What the hell are you doing out here ?! " Dearka growled, dis-regarding the joy he was feeling in his heart, with regards to their accidental kiss from before.
The brunette's mouth open and closed, before responding. "I heard a loud crack, so I decided to head out and check on the situation ... what was that crack sound - anyway ? " Mirialla asked, ignoring her flaming cheeks since they were engulfed in darkness - neither of them could see what the other was feeling, for the moment.
"... That was just the sound of the power trip! Nothing that concerns you - and are you an idiot ? Venturing out of the room, when you had no idea of the floor plan to my family residence ?
If I hadn't been here - you would have rolled down the stairs and fell unconscious - already! " Dearka muttered aloud, before pulling Mirialla up with him - and asked to see if the former was alright, and unhurt.
Mirialla was about to nod, when she realized - Dearka could not see her, clearly in darkness. Thus, responded with a simple 'Yes' - before silence settled in between them, again.
Dearka sighed, before seeing Mirialla back to the guest room she had been placed for the night - and said. "Stay inside - until I say otherwise, I need to go in search of the extra torch lights so my parents' could locate the main switch socket to see what was the cause of the sudden power trip. "
With that, Dearka ventured off - leaving Mirialla, alone in the dark. Mirialla let out a groan of frustration, when the blond left the site. The accidental kiss from before still lingers on - and the sheer thought of it, was enough to cause her cheeks to flame up in embarrassment.
/Let's just hope - that idiot maintain his silence about /that/ ... Otherwise ... Michelle will never let me off the hook, if she hears about them from Dearka ... / Mirialla thought to herself, as she throw herself back onto the bed - and hide her face under the blanket covers.

Time: 10 00 hours
Venue: Kingdom of ORB, Main Gate of Haw's Residence
"Thank you for sending me back ... " Mirialla said, as she told the blond standing opposite of her.
Dearka nodded in response, as he lingered on - not wanting to leave. Surprisingly, Mirialla remained rooted to the ground as well - usually, she would just turned on her heels and left the blond staring after her. However, today - she was somewhat hesitant to do so.
Dearka sighed, and thought maybe - Mirialla was waiting for him to make his move before venturing into the house. Therefore, he began turning on his heels - making his move to leave, slowly.
Mirialla stared as Dearka took his first step away from her, before taking another. Dearka was about five steps away from her - when she suddenly called out to the former's attention.
Dearka turned back to face Mirialla - in confusion, while Mirialla hesitated for a moment before uttering the sentence she had never visualize herself, telling the blond - before.
"Dearka ... Why don't we go on a date, today ? " Mirialla said, her cheeks flaming up in embarrassment, but she kept her cool and kept on staring at the blond opposite of her.
Dearka blinked, his eyes widening as Mirialla's sentence registered itself in his mind. Before he knew it, he was back in front of the brunette - and asked, with disbelief. "You /want/ to go on a /date/ - with me ? "
Mirialla nodded, while Dearka gaped at her - before asking. "When ? "
"Today ... actually, I meant - now ... " Mirialla amended her statement, as she glances away from the blond, with a shy expression on her face.
"Oh ... okay ... so where do you want to go for the /date/ ? " Dearka asked, stupidly - since he had made no plans for a date - with Mirialla, thus had no idea where to bring the former for their first official date.
Mirialla thought for a second, before responding. "How about - the Amusement Park ? "
"Sure! If that's where you had in mind for the date ... " Dearka responded, before glancing around his area - as if he was searching for something.
Finally, he turned towards Mirialla and said. "Do you mind waiting for me - for a while, I need to call someone ... "
Mirialla said nothing, and Dearka took her silence as consent - as he ventured over to the side and dial a series of numbers on his cell-phone. As soon as Nicol answered the call, Dearka told the former to buy a bouquet of roses, and a camcorder for him.
Nicol stared at the phone in shock, before shrugging and proceed to get the items Dearka had requested - and headed over to the amusement park, to meet up with the blond.

Time: 12 00 hours
Venue: Kingdom of ORB, Amusement Park Entrance
Mirialla was surprised when the blond had excused himself for a minute, before coming back to her - with a camcorder and a bouquet of roses. Handing the roses over to Mirialla, Dearka told the former that the roses were for her.
Mirialla blinked, that was unexpected - she thought. "What's the camcorder for ? " Mirialla asked, the roses she understood the intention behind their existence for the date - but the camcorder was a little strange, to her.
Dearka grinned, and responded. "For recording ... I wanted to tape down our first official date, for memorial purposes. "
"Aa ... " Mirialla made a knowing sound, deciding to let the blond have his wish - for some odd reasons.
They were entering the entrance way to the amusement park, when Mirialla suddenly spoke up - causing the blond to pause in his steps.
"Actually - Dearka, I dislike roses ... but seeing that you had no idea of which type of flowers I enjoyed receiving from my dating partner - I'm going to let you off the hook, this time around.
However, let me remind you - if you bring me the wrong type of flowers next time - I'll never agree to go on another date, with you! "
Dearka nodded in response, despite the turmoil he was feeling inside. Yet, he was unwilling to let those haunting thoughts spoilt his first official date with Mirialla - and decided to ask around Mirialla's friends and relatives, on Mirialla's favourite flowers, as soon as he arrived back to the PLANTs.
Their first date, went on smoothly - nothing out of the ordinary happened. They went on rides, both relaxing and exciting ones - even visited the 'House of Mirrors' and the 'Haunted House'.
After which, they had a late lunch session over at the cafe situated near Mirialla's family estate. Since Dearka had a late night shift scheduled for the day, he was unable to linger on - for long.
After he send Mirialla back home, and paid Nicol for the camcorder and bouquet of roses - Dearka set off for the Kaguya Space Port and headed back to the PLANTs, immediately.

Time: 15 00 hours
Venue: Kingdom of ORB, Haw's Residence
Melody grinned upon the sight of her elder sister entering through the front door of their family estate, with a bouquet of roses held in hand - spoke up.
"Aa ... looks like someone just came back from a date with a certain blond Coordinator - Eh ?" Melody started, grinning from ear-to-ear.
Mirialla threw her youngest sister a dirty look, before commenting. "So what ? You have a problem with me being on a date ? "
Melody responded, cheekily in a sing-song manner. "No ... I don't have a problem with you going on a date, I was just wondering when did you start going out on dates with Dearka Elthman. Didn't you always turned him down - when he asked you out for dates ? "
Mirialla flushed, before muttering. "I have a change of mind - can't I ? "
Melody arched her eyebrow skeptically, before commenting. "A change of mind ? Are you sure - its' not 'a change of heart' ? "
"... " Mirialla was silent for a while, before muttering aloud. "Think whatever you like - I'm off to my room! "
Melody, eyed her eldest sister with amusing eyes - until the former disappeared upstairs before bursting out into laughter.
Three hours later, at 17 00 hours - Dearka Elthman arrived back in the PLANTs. The first thing he did was to head back home for a change of clothes, before heading off to the Headquarters to report for work.
Upon sighting Kira Yamato, and Michelle - he hurried towards them and stopped them from departing.
Michelle quirked an eyebrow at Dearka's actions, before commenting. "Alright - what do you want to know now ? Go ahead and ask them, fast - Kira and myself, need to go off for another patroling session before handing the baton over to Shiho and Yzak ... "
Dearka grinned, and asked. "Well ... I need to know what type of flowers Mirialla likes ... and I need to know them, fast. As far as I knew - she dislikes roses ... "
Michelle blinked, before asking. "She agreed to go on a date with you ? "
Dearka nodded, before adding that it was Mirialla whom did the asking - this time around. Michelle, could only blinked and stared at Dearka in disbelief - as she wondered what had caused her elder sister, to agree with the idea of dating the blond.
The former had been adamantly against the idea - several weeks ago, so what caused the sudden change, now ?
"Try daisies ... Tolle used to give them to Miri - when they were dating ... " Kira suggested, as he recalled Tolle giving them to Miri - once.
Michelle, on the other hand, nodded in response. "Yeah, and if daisies - doesn't works ... Get her fresh white lilies ... I know, she likes lilies - as well ... "
"Right, are there any other questions ? If not, I believe Kira and myself need to go somewhere - by the way, Yzak says for you to seek him out upon your arrival. " Michelle added, as she called over her shoulder - while Kira and herself, headed over to where the Volitaire were stationed, and waiting for their arrival.

Time: 10 00 hours
Venue: Kingdom of ORB, Military Headquarters - Assembly Hall
"For the last time around - stop with all the ridiculous arguements! We are soldiers, not politicians. We obeyed orders issued by the Parliament - we do not issued them!
If you're that unhappy about the arrangements of being stationed up in Lunar City, PLANTs, or the 'Kusanagi' - which was now traveling to and fro; helping out with the rebuilding work of 'Heliopolis' - bring them up to the Parliaments' attention and stop coming to me with complaints! "
James Mckenzie snapped, frowning angrily. His patience had been pushed to its' very limits, ever since the project of rebuilding Heliopolis started. The newly enlisted recruites were fine, the ones giving him problems were those whom were recruited during the period whereby the Seirans' were considered the most prominent family in the Kingdom of ORB.
It seems like the Seirans had quite a number of supporters within the Military, while they used to be on a minority side - prior to the second war. They were now the majority, seeing that most of those influencial officers on the side of their Prime Minister and their countries idealism - was either being stationed within the Clyne Faction, with the Archangel - over at Akatsuki Military Base; or transferred to another section of the Military Squads.
Moreover, there were quite a number of them being sacrificed during the war period. Therfore, now James was having his patience limit being tested - as he deal with all the complaints and grumblings remarks coming from his fellow lower-ranking officers.
/I now realized why Nicol - was always dreading meetings and conferences between the group leaders, and squad heads. / James Mckenzie thought, with a shake of head.
Outside the Assembly Hall, Shiho could hear each and every word being uttered by the fellow ORB Colonel - and sighed.
/Looks like everywhere is the same ... / Shiho thought, for - she, herself had came across such situations taking place on the PLANTs as well.
Although, no one dared to contradict Yzak the same way - that these ORB officers were doing when they were facing James Mckenzie, personally. After all, Yzak was well-known for his bad temper, and would fired without mercy if they were to piss the former off. Moreover, Yzak had the support of his mother - Eriza Jule whom was in the Council, itself.
"Alright - if you are so unhappy about your assigned positions ... How about - putting you in charge of the Royal Squads of Lady Cagalli ?
No wait - better still, the 'Royal Squad' of Michelle Haw ? I'm sure the idea of parading in front of the PLANTs Supreme Council and members of the ZAFT elite Forces would be more appealing to you - no ? " James stated, forcefully and with irritation.
Silence. Before James' voice was heard, again. "So - you don't want that ? Right, in that case - I seeked your cooperation by performing your duties without fail ... Do you understand me ? Or I will really placed you under Lady Cagalli or Michelle's Command - without a moment's of hesitation. "
"Alright, if there's no other problems. This meeting is officially over ... " James ordered, as the group of officers gathered in the Assembly Hall for the meeting was being dismissed back to their respective tasks.
"You sound frustrated - just now ? " Shiho commented, as she stepped through the entrance to the hall - startling the brooding man back to reality.
"Aa ... I apologize. Sorry that you have to hear that - but it's just so frustrating dealing with them ... " James commented, sounding absolutely weary from his previous meeting.
"Oh ... but I'm afraid I have more disturbing issues for you to deal with. How about having an early lunch with me - before I spoilt your appetite completely ? There are some issues with relations to the rebuilding work of Heliopolis that I'm afraid that I'll have to consult you on ... " Shiho explained, raising an eyebrow upon the look of absolute dread on the former's expression.
James sighed aloud, before responding. "Alright then ... but in the meantime, I want my lunch. We're heading out of the Military territory - I cannot stand being in this place any longer, we can come back later - when we had taken our lunch in peace. "
"Sure ... " Shiho shrugged, since her main objective for being here in the Kingdom of ORB was simply to address and clarify some of the details with relations to the rebuilding work of Heliopolis. Therefore, she had all the time in the world - to wait until the former was in the mood of entertaining her in terms of work-related issues.

Time: 17 00 hours
Venue: Aprilius City, Jule's Residence
Steven Ayman, rang the door-bell to the Jule's Residence as he waited patiently for the Jule's family bulter to answer the door. He was told to stay the night over at his cousin-in law's place, since his mother had ventured down to the Kingdom of ORB, for a rare social visit.
His father, on the other hand, was going to be coming over in another hour's time with Eriza Jule - to discuss council matters.
He need not wait for long, no later than five minutes after he rang the door-bell - the front door was answered by the bulter.
The bulter offered to take his school backpack for him, but he shook his head to incline that he would carry his school bag - himself.
"Brother Steven! Mommy - Brother Steven's here! " Miguel Jule called at the top of his lungs, for Michelle's attention.
Michelle exited from the kitchen, and beckoned for Steven to head over to her side. Steven Ayman grinned upon the sight of his favourite cousin - and ruffled the twins' hair as he passes them.
Both of them pouted at him, for his actions - but Steven could hardly cared less.
"Come here, Steven - I made you spaghetti for dinner. I would have made you something better - but I'm on a time-limit. I need to head over for night shift, in forty five minutes time. Do you mind tending to those two - for a while, before their father came back home from his shift ? " Michelle asked, placing the plate of spaghetti in front of Steven.
Steven shrugged, "Sure - no problem ... I had practically no home work today, so its' fine ... "
"Good, enjoy your early dinner then! I need to run - now. Feel free to ask for the maid, if you need anything else ... " Michelle said, as she dashes upstairs for a quick shower before rushing out of the house - readying herself for her night shift duty at the Headquarters.
