Chapter 33
What previously happened with the Cullen's.
"Did I hear my name being mentioned?" Edward asked as he leered at Jasper.
"Yes Edward, please come in, you as well, Alice. I wish to speak to the both of you, and Jasper if you wouldn't mind staying seeing that you were the one that brought this to my attention. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this in due time," Carlisle said as Jasper closed the door and stood in the corner of the room to hear how this played out, and if it didn't play out the way he hoped it would then he would know how to act.
"Edward it has come to my attention that you and Alice have lied to me about your involvement concerning the Quileute problems," Carlisle began.
"What!" Edward yelled as he stood to his feet and sneered at Jasper knowing he was the one to bring this to Carlisle's attention. Alice did not say a word only bowed her head afraid they had been caught.
She had tried to hide her emotions from Jasper, but she knew he would find out sooner or later, and had decided it didn't matter, she saw that Bella was supposed to be with Edward and she was ready to state her case to Carlisle.
She just hoped that Jasper would understand, that she was only trying to help Edward, and at the same time, hoped she didn't destroy her own relationship with Jasper in doing so. Carlisle put his hand up to stop Edward from saying any more before continuing.
"Please Edward let me finish before you say anything else, please sit down and listen to what I have to say," Carlisle demanded. Edward slowly sat back into his chair still staring at Jasper with all the hate he could muster, knowing he would feel every ounce of what he was feeling, and loved every minute of it.
"I'm sure you know by his appearance, that it was Jasper who brought this to my attention. I have heard his side of the story or at least all he knows of it, and I think it's only fair if I hear yours as well before I make my final decision on how to act on this. First, I have some questions on what Jasper has told me, and I want your honest answers to them all," Carlisle explained.
"Now Edward, Jasper tells me you've met this girl while you were visiting Florida, and that you have made contact with this girl's mother. He also told me that you tried to dazzle the woman to get her to give you her daughter, and it was then that you found out that the mother was more interested in money than her own daughter," Carlisle said, shaking his head at the audacity of some people, before beginning again.
"First of all Edward, for you to have even tried to dazzle anyone is unfathomable, that gift is used to lure unexpected prey into a trap for feeding, which we do not do, and for you to do this to a human for your own desires…well," Carlisle sighed feeling he had failed his son in some way, shaking his head before continuing.
"I won't have a son of mine lower himself to that degree. I have worked hard to make our lives more humane and not act like the monsters that came before us," Carlisle said while still shaking his head.
"It is also beneath us to offer money to a human in the way of buying another human, they are not pets to buy and disregard at your leisure, Son, even if the human's parents are somewhat disagreeable in our eyes," he said.
"If you feel the girl is your mate you approach her, and then ask her if you can court her. But seeing that the girl in question is part Quileute, and even though I hate the concept of even voicing my opinion on this subject I must say, that she is after all our enemy, and we hers, even with the treaty we are walking on thin ground with them as it is. I see no point of continuing with this notion of yours. Besides the Alpha of the pack says she is his imprint," Carlisle explained, augmenting his point.
"She isn't that mongrel's imprint, she's mine and I will have her," Edward growled.
"Edward, I understand that you think that this Bella girl is your mate son, but it isn't possible. Are you sure it isn't her blood that tempts you? A singer's blood can lure you much like the mating call," Carlisle insisted.
"I know the difference between being lured by someone's blood and a mating call Carlisle, give me more credit than that. Besides Alice has seen that we belong together, she's seen her as one of us," Edward said giving Jasper a smirk.
Edward always made sure Carlisle believed Alice's visions were never wrong, even if he had to manipulate him into believing it was so. Even if they were off some times, which they mostly were, but Edward always seemed to find a way to make Carlisle and the rest of his family see otherwise.
Oh, of course he knew Jasper knew differently, but Jasper had never said anything before about it, which he thought was mostly due to Alice being his mate, but for some odd reason this time was different.
Edward couldn't believe he was stepping in this time, and he was already thinking of ways to get him back for interfering, this was his business not Jasper's and he was totally pissed off.
"Is this true Alice, have you seen this girl becoming one of us, and becoming Edward's mate?" Carlisle asked. Alice looked at Jasper and bit her bottom lip and then nodded.
"Yes Carlisle I've seen it, and Bella and I are going to be great friends," she added in her tinkling sickly sweet voice as she jumped up and down in her seat at the thought of Bella and her being best friends. Carlisle sighed before continuing.
"Alice, Jasper thinks that you saw that this girl was Edward's mate after Edward told you that he knew she was his mate. Is this true?" he asked. Alice looked over at Jasper again and then to Edward, she was afraid to answer because it was true, she did see them together after Edward had called her to Florida to see the girl he claimed to be his mate.
"What do I do Edward?" she asked speaking to him with her mind, she knew he would hear, but she also knew he couldn't answer her, but he did answer, it was just with his eyes. He squinted his eyes evilly at her as if daring her to say the wrong thing.
"Alice," Carlisle said gaining her attention again.
"Well, when Edward called me to meet him in Florida, he told me over the phone that he had found his mate, and he wanted me to see her. He wanted me to help him figure out a way to get close to her. After the phone call I did have a vision of Edward with his new mate, but I couldn't see the girl's face, but once I saw her I could tell it was her," Alice said.
"So do you think that it was a forced vision Alice considering the way it happened?" Carlisle asked.
"No! I don't have forced visions Carlisle, you know that!" Alice snapped. "What I see is real not made up, the girl is supposed to be with Edward not that Dog!" she snapped, horrified thinking of that girl being with that mangy mongrel.
"Well Alice, I have to disagree, and after hearing both of your answers about this girl I have to say that I believe that Edward is more drawn to the girl's blood than believing she is his mate, and I think it would be a good idea for him to stay away from her for that very reason," Carlisle said as Edward growled at his leader's comment. Carlisle looked at Edward giving him a, don't even try it, expression and continued.
"Let me ask you one more question Edward and Alice, and then if you wish to tell your side of the story I will listen, alright?" he asked. Carlisle waited a few seconds for an answer and when none came he continued. "Alright, who is the vampire you hired to take control of the girl's father's mind?" Carlisle asked.
Edward jumped to his feet once again snarling at Jasper and Carlisle for spoiling his plan. But Edward wasn't going to allow that to happen; he would agree to stay away for now, but this was far from being over. He wanted this Bella girl and he would have her even if he had to kill every one of the pack members, and everyone on the Reservation to do it.
But now he was cornered with the question of the vampire he and Alice had hired to control the girl's father's mind. His only defense at the time was rage at the idea that his own father would think this of him, even if it was true, but Carlisle didn't need to know that.
"I don't have to sit here and be blamed for things I haven't done. I know nothing about some vampire mind control freak, and I'm deeply hurt that you would think me capable of such actions Carlisle!" Edward shrieked.
"Oh please Edward, stop with the melodrama, we know you hired that vampire so just sit down and answer the question," Jasper said sick of the way Edward was playing this. At least Alice was letting him hang himself; that was a plus for her side.
"I am not being melodramatic. I had nothing to do with hiring a vampire to do anything! You better watch your step Jasper or you might just find yourself ripped to shreds!" Edward growled heinously.
"Oh please, like you could," Jasper dared.
"ENOUGH!" Carlisle bellowed. "I will not stand for this kind of behavior in my own house, sit down Edward and answer my question!" Carlisle ordered.
"I did Carlisle! I didn't have anything to do with that vampire," Edward said again, lying through his sharp teeth.
"Then what was that I heard earlier when you and Alice were supposedly hunting, but instead talked about how the vampire you hired had drained the girl's mother?" Jasper asked calmly, but sternly.
Edward once again gave him the evil eye as Alice sat back and covered her face with her hands, knowing they were discovered. If Jasper heard all they talked about in the woods, then how was she going to lie herself out of this one, she thought. She couldn't and she knew it.
"Edward, Edward!" Alice yelled bringing him out of his rage long enough to hear her out. "It's over Edward, they've found us out, just let it be and lets figure out how to get you and Bella together," Alice said.
"Damn it Alice, you just couldn't keep your big mouth closed could you! Fine, I'll do this alone, the hell with all of you, Bella is mine, and I will see to it that she comes to me whether she wants to or not!" Edward spat as he jumped to his feet and ran from the room, and out of the house heading for the woods.
"Edward!" Carlisle called, but it was no use, he was gone, now they really had a problem, they would have to make sure the girl was safe.
"Jasper, call the Alpha of the wolf pack, tell him what has happened, and be on the lookout for Edward, make sure you tell them that the girl in question is in danger, if you would please," Carlisle asked, as Jasper ran from the room to make the phone call, and then Carlisle turned to his sightseeing daughter.
"Alice, it seems you and I need to talk," Carlisle said looking at her with disappointment at what they had done.

Sam and Bella were relaxing on Bella's bed from their exhausting day of learning all they did about Bella, well, Bella was relaxing. Sam was cuddling and enjoying every minute of having Bella in his arms.
Sam was nibbling on her neck listening to the sweet sound of Bella's giggles when all of a sudden she sat straight up on the bed, and began breathing hard.
"What's wrong baby?" Sam asked worriedly. Bella put up her pointer finger telling Sam to wait just a minute, when she heard what she heard the first time come again. But at the same time they both heard a howl for help coming from outside, behind the house in the woods.
Sam bounced out of the bed, kissed Bella on the forehead and told her he'd be right back. Bella nodded not answering for she was hearing something she needed to pay attention to.
"Leech," Young Quil howled in wolf form.
"Where are you?" Embry answered back.
"What's going on?" Sam asked interrupting the two wolves' conversation after just phasing in.
"Answer me damn it," Embry yelled.
"Oh, sorry, Sam caught me off guard. I'm by the training field, it smells like one of the Cullen's," Young Quil answered back.
"What's he doing on our land?" Sam asked.
"Beats the hell out of me, want me to go further in and check it out?" Young Quil asked.
"No, stay where you are until we get to you, understand?"
"Okay Sam," young Quil said as he held his ground waiting for the others to join him.
"Be careful Sam, be careful all of you," Bella said.
"Bella, how can I hear you, better yet how can you hear us?" Sam asked even more worried.
"I don't know, must be part of my new powers," Bella said, "I'll stay with you until everything is under control," Bella continued. Bella closed her eyes and could see two of the three wolves running towards young Quil. Once they were together they began to walk in wolf form toward the open field. There before them was Edward Cullen standing waiting for them.
"Where is the girl? Bring her to me now!" he demanded. Knowing Edward could read their minds Sam and the others stayed in wolf form and spoke to him with their minds.
"What girl are you referring to leech?" Sam bellowed.
"Bella, the one you claim to be yours who isn't. She is mine, bring her to me now!" Edward screamed, crouching into a defense stance and bared his claw like fingers and teeth.
Sam growled long and loud, as did the other two wolves, and within seconds was joined by the entire pack who were all growling at the leech that was stupid enough to face the pack on their own ground, and order the appearance of the alpha's imprint, even if that imprint was powerful enough to burn him to ash with a single look, but Edward didn't know that, not yet anyways.
Bella was becoming angry. How dare that bloodsucker bark orders at her Sam, she thought as she stood steaming with anger. And the more she thought about it, the angrier she became, and before she knew it she was transported from her room to where the pack stood in front of the one called Edward at the training field.
It was more of a shock to her than it was for the vampire and the wolves, which was happening a lot recently.
"How did you," is all Edward got out, before Sam yelled.
"Bella get out of here, now!" Sam yelled.
"Come to me girl, you belong to me not these moldy dogs," Edward spat.
"I think not leech, you've made a grave mistake coming on our land, you've broken the treaty and now must die," Bella yelled as she walked up and stood next to Sam, who was trying his best to push Bella away with his snout, and before they knew it Edward slammed his fist into Sam's head sending him flying into the nearest tree.
The pack growled and began to jump Edward only to find their feet molded to the ground unable to move.
"What the fuck! Why can't I move?" Seth growled. But at the same time Bella was more than angry with Edward's actions toward her mate, to think about why the pack couldn't move their paws.
She put her hand out and without touching Edward she wrapped her fingers figuratively around his neck and picked him off the ground. Edward floated off the ground and hung in midair.
"How dare you touch my mate!" Bella yelled, and with the force of a hurricane slammed Edward into a tree across the field. She started to walk towards him to finish him off when he jumped to his feet and ran off. "Run like the spoilt child you are!" Bella called out.
"Probably to cry to his mommy," young Quil whined finishing Bella's sentence in his mind. She could see in young Quil's mind as he mimicked a baby crying rubbing his eyes, which made her laugh.
Bella walked towards Sam just as he phased back to human, and proceeded to shake off the attack from the leech, as he put on his jean shorts. He grabbed Bella and held her tightly in his arms.
"Are you okay?" he asked looking her over from head to toe, upset that she was in the middle of what just went on. "What do you think you were doing coming out here like that? You could have gotten yourself killed," Sam yelled. Bella looked at him with an arched brow.
"First of all it wasn't planned it just happened, and secondly he can't hurt me," Bella announced.
"We don't know that!" Sam spat.
"Yes we do," Bella said, and then looked over her own mate. "Are you alright?" she asked worriedly.
"Yeah, even if I wasn't I heal fast," Sam said.
"Hey Bella, was that you in my head?" young Quil asked after phasing back into human form.
"Yeah, that was me," Bella said.
"What the fuck, how did you do that, you didn't transform into a wolf when I wasn't looking did ya?" he asked causing Bella to laugh. "And why couldn't we move our feet," young Quil continued as Bella turned to look at young Quil confused at what he asked.
"No Quil, I didn't phase, but there are a few changes in me as of late," Bella said as Sam finished.
"We'll talk about that this weekend during the bonfire," Sam said not wanting to get into it at the moment, cutting him off short.
"Jake, you and Jared take over for Quil and Embry. Paul you and I will relieve them at midnight," Sam said. The guys nodded their heads and started to walk away, back to what they were doing or were told to do as Sam pulled Bella into his arms and started to walk back to the house with her.
"Are you really going to leave me tonight Sam?" Bella asked.
"I have to baby, I haven't patrolled since we've accepted the imprint, and it's not fair to the other guys who also have imprints they need to see. And I need to check on my house, I haven't been there in a while, it's probably in dire need of a good cleaning by now," Sam said.
"I can go over there later and clean it for you if you want," Bella offered.
"No baby, I don't want you going anywhere without someone with you, preferably me, and besides it's not your place to clean my house, that is unless you're plan on moving in with me when all this is over," he said hinting at Bella to move in with him.
"Are you asking me to?" Bella asked. Sam smiled and nodded his head.
"I'd love nothing more baby," he said and pulled her even closer to him.
"Okay, then it's settled, I'll move in, and for now I'll go over and clean your house for you later," she told him.
"You don't have to do that tonight. When my shift is over I'll come get you, and will work on it together, besides once you see it you may want to change your mind of moving in," Sam said smiling.
"Oh Sam don't be ridiculous. I love you, not for where you live but for who you are. I could care less if you lived in an old broken down shack or a mansion, all that matters to me is being with you no matter where you are," Bella said.
Sam stopped and pulled her into a passionate kiss. "I love you too baby, forever," he said, and then kissed her again. "Let's get you home," Sam said as they finished their trek back to Old Quil's.
Sam walked into Bella's bedroom to pick up his cell phone that he left sitting on the side table next to her bed. When he looked he noticed he had two missed calls.
After checking to see who they were from, he realized that it was from one of the Cullen's, a growl emulated deep in his chest as he hit the send button to return the call wanting to know what the hell was going on with that Edward leech.
"Sam, this is Jasper, I'm glad you called me back, we're having a little bit of trouble with Edward, and I wanted to warn you that he will probably be hanging around close to the Rez. So I thought I'd give you a heads up," Jasper said.
"Oh is that so…well, you're a little late leech, he's already been here and once he started getting his arse kicked, he took off! He broke the treaty leech so you might want to tell daddy leech that the deal is done!" Sam spat angrily.
"Look Sam, I appreciate where you're coming from, but this thing with Edward was not sanctioned by us. Carlisle will be deeply upset when he hears what Edward has done. Please understand Edward acted of his own accord, he was, and is on his own from here on out, what you do to him is entirely on him," Jasper continued trying to get the alpha to see reason.
"Look, have Carlisle call Old Quil later. This whole thing has gotten out of hand and is now in the hands of the council. Whatever they say I'll agree to," Sam said.
"Alright Sam, thanks man, I'll have Carlisle call him later, thanks again, bye," he said as Sam closed his phone and shook his head, wondering what was on Ephraim Black's mind when he thought it was for the best to sign a treaty with the lot of them.
Sam walked into the kitchen where Bella was now cooking dinner. She had her back towards her Great-grandfather so she couldn't see his face while she worked.
Sam smiled at Old Quil's expression as he sat there with his mouth hanging open while Bella told him what had happened earlier. When Bella turned around to see if he was listening to her she saw his expression and burst out laughing.
Sam thought how great it was to see Bella laugh again as he sat down next to Old Quil and pushed his lower jaw shut. He watched as Old Quil jumped in surprise causing Bella to roar with laughter even more, causing Old Quil to clear his throat to hide his embarrassment.
Sam told Old Quil that he would be getting a phone call from the leader of the leeches sometime this evening to talk about some sanction bull shit, that Sam wanted nothing to do with.
He told him he'd much rather just rip them all to pieces and burn the lot of them to ash and be done with them, and wasn't surprised when Old Quil agreed with him. But that still remained to be seen on how that will work out.
But then again it was also mentioned by Old Quil that maybe they'd wait until Bella's magic was at full power and have her cleanse the world of the lot of them. Old Quil roared with laughter at his own suggestion. They all agreed with that plan and laughed right along with Old Quil.

Edward was high in a tree just outside his house trying to catch his breath as thoughts of what just happened ran through his mind. What just happened? He thought shaking his head still dizzy from hitting that tree so hard.
Did Bella do that, and if she did how? He thought. But as soon as he thought that his mind went to what a perfect vampire and mate she would make. He smiled as he sat there trying to figure out how she was so powerful without even being a vampire yet, and how he was going to corner her so he could make her his.
What a dumb arse, hu? Edward only sees what he wants not the consequences that would follow for such actions…
