Hey guys! As promised, here's another chapter! Again, I'm soooo sorry it took so long... But the next ones shouldn't take that long to post cause I only have 2 days of school now and no work :D! You know, unless something happens... BUT! That doesn't matter right now, you guys have been waiting long enough for this, so lets get to the reviews and then to the chapter!
ScarlettMeadow123102: Haha, well here you finally go :)
Frederssn: Awww, thanks. I don't want to end this book either, but unfortunately, all good things have to come to an end :/. HOWEVER, there is possibility for a sequel. But you'll have to wait and see :)
Guest 1: Thank you very much, I'm so glad you like it. And you think it's that different?
Guest 2: I'm sorry it isn't what you're looking for. Thanks for giving it a try though :)
Nightingale690: (first review)-I'm sorry you don't like it :/ (Second review)-Again, I'm sorry it isn't up to your standards, of course, no one is forcing you to read it, you can quit whenever you want. And besides, if you don't like it, there are plenty of other fanfics out there :)
Guest 3: Lol, okay, calm down XD. I can assure you that Vairos killed George a while ago for hurting Segira like that. And I' glad you like it :P
Guest 4: You know where I live...?! o.O Um...here, please don't kill me XD
Light in the Dark: Why worship? Lol. And shhhh, I will, maybe XD. I'm gonna post new chapters as soon as possible, but I'm not sure when I will finish it. The new story will be up not that long after I finish this story up. And I hope you..."enjoy" what happens next XD. Also, I understand that with Kiela's stories, but they're just really bad and really need to be rewritten. I'll try to make a compromise though
DarkPrinnyVegito: Thanks for the support :), I really don't like stopping these stories, and I'm always excited to post new chapters, and I'm not planning to just stop my stories unfinished any time soon.
"Everyone move!" Goku yelled before jumping to the side just in time to dodge the large spikes, Vegeta, Goten, and Trunks doing the same. Gohan quickly wrapped his arms around Segira's upper body and jumped out of the way as well, startling Segira for a second, but if he didn't do that, she probably would've stayed put since she was so scared.
"You okay?" Gohan asked her once they were in the clear, for now anyways. Segira looked up at him with wide eyes before nodding slowly in response. She was blushing again from being so close to him and being held like that by him, like the time when she had first met Roshi and the others. She didn't mean to blush now though, she couldn't help it. Gohan didn't seem to notice, he was glaring in Vairos' direction. "Good." He looked back at her, but then started to blush when he noticed how close they were to each other.
"Gohan, Segira, watch out!" He suddenly heard Goku yell and him, snapping him back into reality.
He looked up just in time to see several more spikes shooting out of the ground towards him and Segira, some were heading for the others too, but most of them were aimed at the two. Gohan tensed up and immediately grabbed Segira again as he jumped up into the air just in time to dodge some of the spikes. He quickly dodged as many of the spikes as he could, jumping off the sides of some of them to dodge other spikes. Segira shut her eyes tightly as she held onto him, burying her face in his chest as she shook from fear. Vairos got irritated again and sent another huge spike at Gohan when he wasn't looking. But Gohan did noticed, however, he saw it too late. When he tried to move out of the way, he was too slow and it impaled him right in the left shoulder and pinned him to the wall behind him, luckily for him, however, he moved enough for it to miss any vitals. But, that didn't do anything for the horrible pain that shot through his body. He cried out loudly in pain and his left arm went limp, falling down to his side as he winced in pain, but Vairos grinned widely.
Segira looked up at Gohan with wide eyes when she realized he had been hurt. "G-Gohan…" She said quietly, also a bit shocked now, as tears formed in her onyx eyes.
Gohan looked down at her as he tried to hide the pain form his face, but was failing, and winced in pain. "I-I'm okay…just get to my dad and the others…okay?" He asked her, his voice laced with pain.
"But…I can't just leave you here like this…!" She told him, tears streaming down her face now. She looked back at Vairos though when he heard him laughing manically, her eyes still wide.
"Oh you poor thing… Is what I would say, but you deserve this. No, you deserve much worse. But I have your other friends to deal with." He summoned another large spike out of the ground, which was aimed at Gohan and Segira. "This is what you get for messing with my experiment!" He suddenly yelled in anger before commanding the spike to shoot towards them, this one was much bigger and faster than the last one. If that spike hit either Gohan or Segira at where it was aiming, then they would both be killed for sure.
"Segira, get out of the way, now!" Gohan yelled at her desperately.
Instead of running, however, she looked up at him before suddenly hugging him tightly. "No, I'm not gonna leave you!" She told him, shutting her eyes tightly. She refused to leave him or the others this time, even if it meant she would die.
"Segira, move! Please!" Gohan practically begged her, but she didn't listen. She stayed right where she was, hugging him tighter and burying her face in his chest as she braced herself for Vairos' attack.
Right before it could hit them, however, a yellow and whitish disc-shaped energy blast came out from down a nearby hallway and sliced right through the spike. Once the top of the spike hit the floor with a loud thud, it immediately stopped moving forward for some reason. Instead of continuing to move forward, however, it made a U-turn and came back to slice through the spike impaling Gohan's shoulder to the wall before suddenly disappearing. Gohan and the other looked down the hallway where it came from in confusion, Vairos having an irritated look on his face.
"Hey! We're not late, are we?" Krillin asked as he, Piccolo, and Tien ran into the room.
"Guys! Boy, am I glad to see you! You got here just in time!" Goku replied, smiling in relief.
Picolo ran over to Gohan and Segira to help Segira pull the spike out of Gohan's shoulder. "Gohan, are you alright?" Piccolo asked Gohan.
Gohan, who was now sitting on the floor and holding his injured shoulder tightly, looked up at Piccolo and nodded slowly. "I'll be fine. Thanks for coming, Piccolo." He replied, his voice laced with pain.
Piccolo smiled slightly before looking at Segira. "What about you? Are you okay?"
She looked up at him and nodded slowly in response, she was still pretty shaken up, but that was it. She looked at Gohan with a worried expression on her face for a few seconds before looking down sadly. "I'm sorry, Gohan… If I had only moved, then you wouldn't have gotten hurt…" She told Gohan quietly.
Gohan looked at her sympathetically. "Segira, it wasn't your fault. You were just scared." He told her softly.
"But if I wasn't so scared, I would've been able to move out of the way in time…!"
"You couldn't help it though, you've spent your whole life being experimented on by this guy, so of course you're scared of him. But we're going to make sure he never does that to you, or anyone else, ever again. Okay?" He pulled her into a hug with his uninjured arm to try and help her calm down.
She hugged him back tightly, but was trying not to hurt him. "Promise…?"
He nodded. "I promise."
She smiled slightly, hugging him a bit tighter. "Okay, I trust you." Even though it hurt when she hugged him tighter, he ignored it and smiled back softly.
"I hate to break this up, but I think this guy might attack again pretty soon." Piccolo said after a while, looking right at Vairos and ready for the next attack. Segira pulled away to look at Vairos as he glared at them coldly, making her shudder and cling to Gohan again. If looks could kill, they'd all be lying in a puddle of blood by now.
"Hey, are you guys okay?" Goku asked as he and the others ran over to Gohan, Piccolo, and Segira.
Gohan looked at him and nodded. "Yeah, we're fine." Gohan said, slowly starting to stand up, and helping Segira up as well.
"ut that guy doesn't look happy. I'm willing to bet he's planning his next attack." Piccolo said, catching the others' attention.
Vairos kept glaring at them coldly, but he wasn't saying or doing anything for some reason. Course, the way he was giving Segira the death glare scared her even more and she inched closer to Gohan. But when she moved, she noticed something different about the floor, she looked down to see what was going on to see that the floor in front and underneath them was moving a bit and she quickly tugged on Gohan's shoulder.
"Gohan, the floor!" She said.
He looked at her confusion. "What?" He looked down at the floor and his eyes when he saw something moving under it. "Guys, look out!" He shouted right before several more spikes shot out of the ground and straight towards them. There were way more spikes than before and these were bigger and way faster than the last ones.
The others immediately scattered, jumping away from there to dodge most of the spikes, he and Segira doing the same thing, but one spike also shot right between Gohan and Segira and separated them both. A large wall of spikes formed between Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin, Tien, and Trunks and Segira, Vegeta, Goten, and Goku, so they were separated into two groups. But by the time Segira realized what happened, it was too late, they were already blocked off from the others.
"Gohan!" Segira yelled, running up to the wall, there were no cracks or anything that allowed her to see or get to them.
"Move it!" Vegeta growled as he grabbed Segira and jerked her away from the wall as more spikes came out of the floor and shot towards them. The spikes just barely missed her, but some of them grazed her arm and the side of her neck, making her wince. "What do you think you're doing?! You were almost killed!" He snapped at her, making her flinch away.
"I…I was just worried about Gohan…" She squeaked, hoping he wouldn't get even madder at her.
"He can take care of himself, so just focus on saving your own skin right now." He told her, his voice was a little softer, but just a little.
She nodded slowly. "Okay… I'm sorry…"
He didn't say anything else, but quickly released her to dodge more spikes that shot out at them, expecting Segira to jump away as well. She didn't though, instead she froze in place again and stared at the spikes with wide eyes for a moment before her expression suddenly changed from fearful to more of an angry kind of emotion. She growled slightly before jumping to the side to dodge the spikes. She then tried to rush at Vairos, wanting to take him out instead of playing defensively and dealing with the spikes, but Vairos wasn't going to let that happen. He sent way more spikes than before at her, distracting her and pushing her back as she did her best to dodge them, getting several new cuts on her body. Right when a spike shot out at her right in front of her, however, she suddenly did a backflip to dodge it and before firing a light blue energy wave at Vairos once she was upright again.
Vairos only looked more irritated and he made a large, thick wall of spikes shoot up from the ground in front of him to block the energy blast. The attack crashed into the wall full force, making it crack a bit, but the wall managed to stay up somehow. Segira's eyes widened in shock when she saw what little damage she did to the wall, not even getting close to Vairos. The spikes fell back into the ground after a while, revealing Vairos, who was unharmed and had a smirk on his face. He snickered at Segira's shocked expression before flicking his index finger up, making several more spikes shoot up from the floor next to Segira. Her eyes widened again and she immediately jumped away to dodge them, but before she landed on the ground, her back slammed into the wall that had separated her, Goku, Vegeta, and Goten from Gohan and the others. She winced in pain, but quickly shook her head and took a few steps forward before looking at the spikes she had just jumped away from to see they had made their own big wall as well, preventing her from escaping that way.
She quickly jerked her head around to look at Vairos with wide eyes as he smirked and walked towards her. She started to back up slowly, glaring and growling at him, but her body was starting to shake in fear. After taking a few steps back, however, her back pressed up against the wall behind her, which was when she realized she was trapped between the wall and him with nothing to stop him from approaching her. She stared at him with wide eyes, her breathing starting to quicken and get shorter from fear, before suddenly firing several light blue energy blasts at him in hopes of stopping him, acting both on instinct and fear. But of course, it didn't do any good. He easily kept the attacks from hitting him by making a few spikes shoot up in front of him to block the energy blasts, the spikes immediately going back into the ground after, and he never slowed down his approach either.
After throwing several more energy blasts, however, she had to stop because he was almost right on top of her. She backed up into the wall as much as she could, her body shaking badly in fear. Vairos grinned and suddenly grabbed her tightly by the neck and slamming her into the wall behind her, holding her a few feet up off the floor. She cried out and winced in pain, she was starting to get a headache, but it wasn't as bad as they usually were for some reason and she could actually remember what happened. She immediately clawed at his arm though and gasped for breath, but he didn't loosen his grip even a little bit. He was holding her neck too tightly, so she couldn't breathe or even cry out for help.
He smirked widely at her pained expression. "I would say I won't kill you because we need you alive for experiments, but then I'd be lying, we have enough data on you and Saiyans while they're alive already. But, we have nothing on them after they're dead." He told her before tightening his grip on her neck.
She gagged and shut her eyes tightly, clawing at his arm and grabbing his wrist tightly, as she opened her mouth to try and get even a little bit of air into her lungs, but it was no use. He didn't loosen his grip even slightly. Her vision was starting to grow dark and fuzzy and her body was starting to go limp, her grip on his wrist loosening and her hand eventually dropping to her side.
A/N: Welp, that's not good... But she did make another connection, any guesses as to who? Or what's gonna happen next? As usual, the preview for the next chapter will be under this Author's Note, but I'm not gonna reveal the next chapter's name, not yet. It's a big spoiler. And before I forget, I have a poll up on my profile, and I kind of need feedback for it, so if any of you guys have read my "The Warrior Who Never Gave Up" story, can you please vote on it? Thank you very much, and thanks everyone for all your support! Until the next chapter!
Gohan fell to his knees at first before falling forward on the ground, unconscious, as a puddle of blood formed around him.
"Gohan…?" Segira asked quietly, not wanting to believe what just happened. She slowly crawled over to him, ignoring the blood that got on her skin and clothes, and tried to roll him over onto his back. "Please don't be dead…!" She cried, tears streaming down her face now. She finally managed to roll him over and she immediately checked to see if he was alive, he was still breathing, but it was slight, and his pulse was very weak. He wasn't going to last long if she didn't do anything to help, but she didn't know what she could do. She pulled him close and continued crying into his chest. "Please… Don't leave me…"
