Sorrrrry for the long wait. I hate making you wait because you're all amazing, but I kept pushing this story to the backburner for a while, and I don't know why. I tend to go through phases with writing. Like I'll be incredibly inspired and I won't be able to stop writing or I will absolutely run out of ideas and now want to write for like a month. Anyway, I didn't want to make you wait, so here this is. It's pretty fluffy, with the exception of one Naley fight because who doesn't love a little Naley angst? I miss them so much!
Thanks for your patience! Hope ya like it :)
"Oh, this one's got two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a pool!" Haley explained excitedly as she pointed to the image on her laptop which was resting on her lap from her spot on the couch.
"I don't know why you can't just move in with me-" Nathan protested when he sprawled out next to Haley, resting his feet near her thighs.
Haley looked down at his gentle face and smiled. "I think you're forgetting the fact that you live with you mom…" She pointed out with a small laugh.
Nathan sat up softly, bringing his palms to Haley's legs while leaning in closely as he whispered in her ear. "Well, why don't we just buy a house together?"
Haley felt a set of spine tingling chills crawl up her spine when Nathan's hot breath blew into her ear. "Nathan, we just became a couple. You know we can't do that-"
"Why not?" He questioned lightly, kissing a sensitive spot below her ear.
Haley bit her lip in order to fight a moan. "You have to go back to Charlotte in two months-"
"So? We can just live together before I go. This way we can maximize our time together-" Nathan proposed with a delicious smirk.
Haley blew out a small breath, "I don't know, Nathan… Living together is a huge step. Do you really think we're ready for it?"
Nathan chuckled softly under his breath as he ran a soothing hand over Haley's pink cheek. "Baby, I've been ready since we were like ten. Do you remember how we used to talk about living together after college-?"
"Yes, but-" Haley began meekly, only to be cut off again.
"-And plus, we had sleepovers like everyday back then. We practically fr up living together-"
Haley playfully rolled her eyes, "That was different. We weren't dating. We're adults now, things changed-"
Nathan sat up further, and scooted closely to Haley. "Look Hales, just because we're living together doesn't mean we have to do anything. I told you I'll wait for you forever if I have to, but that's not what this is about. You know we're going to be spending every second together anyway, so why not just live together-?"
"You live in Charlotte, Nathan-"
"So what, you don't want us to live together, is that it?" Nathan exploded, "Just say it, Haley!"
Haley's lips turned downward, "I didn't say that! I'm just saying, it's early in our relationship and we don't know what could happen-"
Nathan crossed his arms over his chest and scowled, "Now you don't have faith in our relationship?"
Haley jumped up from the couch and threw her hands up in the hair with aggravation. "Dammit, Nathan! Stop putting words in my mouth. You know I love you, and of course I want to live with you, but what's the point of buying a house together when you're going to be in Charlotte for most of the time?"
"I'll come home a lot. I want to come home to you, Haley." Nathan spoke softly. "To our home. I want to look forward to coming home and seeing your beautiful face-"
Haley desperately tried to fight the smile threatening to spread over her lips. "What about your mom?"
Nathan shrugged, "She's probably going to ask Sal to move in, which is another reason why I want to move out-"
Haley dragged her hand over her tired face and sighed. "I shouldn't have taken the job at Tree Hill. I should've looked in Charlotte, and everything would be easier-"
Nathan stepped closer to her and rested his hand around her waist. "Is that what you're worried about? That I'll be in Charlotte?"
Haley's gaze fell to the floor and she pouted softly. "I know it's selfish, but I finally got you all to myself, and I don't want to be away from you-"
Nathan smiled reassuringly, leaned down and pressed a soft kiss upon her luscious lips. "That's why we should live together before I go. I want to be with you every second that I possibly can. Look, if it really bothers you, you can buy the house yourself and I can just pay rent so I'll be like a temporary roommate-"
Haley laughed, rolling her eyes playfully. "If we're going to live together, we're going to buy the house together. This way you have a house to come home to-"
Nathan's eyes widened as they sparkled in the light. "Really?" He grinned excitedly. "Because I don't care what our house looks like, as long as you're there, that's all that matters-"
"Yes," Haley giggled when Nathan's strong arms wrapped tightly around her, lifting her off the ground and circling her around the air.
Nathan smiled even wider and pressed a long kiss upon her lips. "Oh my god, Hales! We're moving in together! I love you-"
"I love you too-" Haley smiled, peppering his face with kisses.
Nathan smirked, pulling Haley flush up against his hardened chest, and thrust his lips upon hers passionately.
Just as Nathan's tongue began to delve deeply down Haley's throat, Deb walked into the living room, gasping loudly, "O-Oh, I'm sorry-"
Hearing his mother's voice, Nathan practically jumped 10 feet away from Haley, whose face was now as red as a ripened tomato. They suddenly felt like teenagers extremely embarrassed about getting caught making out.
"Don't stop on my account-" The petite blonde laughed, sensing the awkward shift in the atmosphere.
"Mom!" Nathan chided loudly.
Deb's smile widened. "Sorry, I'm just not used to you two… you know…"
A loud groan escaped from Nathan's throat, and his his face behind his hands.
"Remember when I walked in on you guys kissing when you were four? That's when I knew you were perfect for each other-"
"Oh my god!" Nathan shouted when Haley flushed with humiliation, nestling her blushing cheeks in the crook of his neck.
"There's nothing to be embarrassed about. You guys are totally adorable-" Deb continued gushing sweetly.
"Come on Hales, let's go-" Nathan demanded quietly, grabbing her hand gently, and made their way to the door just before Deb stopped them.
"Where are you going?" She called out.
"House hunting-" Nathan grinned, watching as confusion flashed over his mother's eyes.
"What? Why?"
Nathan pulled Haley's small frame to his side, his grin growing in size. "Haley and I decided we want to buy a house together."
An excited smile lit over Deb's lips. "Really? That's wonderful! I'm so happy for you-"
Haley looked up at Nathan's beaming face and giggled softly. It was times like these when she had to remind herself that she wasn't dreaming: This was real life, and her wishes were becoming a reality.
Two weeks had passed since Nathan and Haley decided they wanted to start searching for a house, yet they were unable to find the perfect one. Today they had decided to drive around a few blocks with houses located on the beach to view their options.
"I'm thinking we should just buy a empty property and build our dream home-" Nathan proposed as his free hand enveloped Haley's when they drove down a sandy road.
Haley frowned as she looked out the passenger window when the drove by houses that didn't catch her eye. "I know babe, but that'll take too long-"
"One day." Nathan spoke softly. "I'll build you your dream home like that guy Noah did-"
Haley cracked up laughing from beside him, "Did you seriously just make a reference to 'The Notebook?"
Nathan shrugged, "Yeah, so? You love that movie."
"I love you." Haley gushed girlishly.
"You better, Haley James." Nathan feigned sternness.
A small lapse of comfortable silence settled between the couple until Nathan turned down a dead end road.
"Oh my god, Nathan! Pull over!" Haley suddenly shrieked.
Screeching on the breaks, Nathan nearly jumped out of his seat. "What is it?"
"This house is for sale! Baby, it's perfect! Look-" Haley pointed out the window excitedly as
Nathan craned his neck in order to get a better view at the large, yet modest light blue house which sat high off the sandy beach. It looked brand new, and the neighboring homes were stretched out leaving plenty of space.
"Hmm, that's weird. I thought we looked at all the open houses in the paper today. I guess we missed this one-"
Haley excitedly grabbed her bag, and popped a quick kiss on his lightly stubbled cheek. "It's a private showing! Come on, we have to see it-"
Nathan chuckled softly, and hopped out of the car, watching as Haley took off in almost a sprint to the front door where an elderly real estate agent stood with a friendly smile.
"Good afternoon, my name is Eleanor Weasley." The white haired woman spoke kindly. "Welcome to 23 Carolina Drive."
Haley beamed with jubilance as Nathan came up from behind her and immediately interlocked their fingers together.
"Hi, I'm Haley James, and this is my boyfriend Nathan Scott."
Shaking both their hands politely, Eleanor smiled again. "It's nice to meet you. Would you like to come inside?"
"Yes, definitely!" Haley spoke enthusiastically, pulling Nathan through the grand entryway, losing her breath in the process. "Oh my gosh! This is beautiful."
Nathan's eyes widened when he took in the scene before him. The sun-lit room was painted a golden yellow, with dark oak wood flooring. A large stairwell stood before him which opened to an elegant balcony. The house screamed elegance, warmth, and a happy welcome. He could definitely picture himself walking through the large doors everyday to his beautiful girlfriend. Looking down at Haley, Nathan noticed her wide brown eyes sparkling with desire.
"This is the house, Nathan." She whispered sensually.
"Are you sure?" He smiled knowingly, "We haven't even seen the rest of it-"
"I'm sure." She beamed.
"If you think this is great, wait until you see the rest of it-" Eleanor spoke up as she glided across the hardwood floor and through another openway which led to a homey kitchen. It wasn't too big, but it wasn't too small. It was perfect.
To match the hardwood flooring, the cabinets were a dark wash of cherry oak, and the marbled counter was a soft beige. The appliances were a brand new stainless steel, adding to the elegant ambiance.
"Can you tell us about the house?" Nathan asked kindly as Haley seemed to be wrapped in her own little world, running her hands over the kitchen counters.
Eleanor nodded with a beaming smile. "The house was just built around two months ago, no one has lived here yet. It's the smallest of the rest of the homes in the area, but it's got four bedrooms and four bathrooms, a great view of the ocean, and a large deck out back."
"It's beautiful." Nathan expressed.
"It's perfect for a young couple like you two. Everything is completely brand new, and has a lot of potential for a growing family-"
Nathan's heart warmed at the thought. A sudden visual flashed before his eyes, as he pictured himself walking into the kitchen to find a pregnant Haley feeding a small child in a high chair. This was only the beginning of forever.
Snapping from her trance, Haley looked over to find Nathan standing with an overjoyed smile. "Do you like it?" She questioned.
"I love it." Nathan whispered, reaching out to hold her small hand again.
"I want to see the rest of it!" Haley pleaded.
"Of course." Eleanor responded. "Follow me."
Nathan and Haley walked hand in hand as they followed her throughout the house. Connected to the kitchen was a modest dining room which soon led to a turquoise painted living room that had a stone fireplace against the wall.
"Nathan! Look, it's got a fireplace! I've always wanted one of those-" Haley pointed out enthusiastically.
"There's one in the master suite as well." Eleanor claimed. "Wait 'till you see it-"
"Ooh!" Haley gushed as she raced up the stairs and into the grand hallway, with Nathan hot on her heels. They waited for Eleanor to open the double entry doors and both gasped at the sight of the large room.
"Oh, wow-" Haley whispered. "This is amazing."
"I can definitely sleep in here every night." Nathan grinned.
"The master bathroom is just as lavish." Eleanor announced as she pushed open another door which revealed the bathroom which had a double countered sink, a jacuzzi, and glass shower.
"This is gorgeous!"
"Sweet."
"So, what do y'all think?" Eleanor asked with a southern drawl. "D'ya like it?"
"I love it." Haley gushed.
"I'm sold." Nathan declared.
Eleanor grinned, "Oh but you haven't seen the rest of the rooms-"
"Wow-" Haley breathed. "I love this house, I do, baby, but don't you think this is a bit much for just us?" She whispered gently to Nathan.
"I thought you said this was the one?" Nathan retorted gently.
"It is… well it could be, a few years down the line-"
Nathan reached out and gently stroked her cheek as his eyes bore longingly into hers. "Hales, you know this house will be sold by then. I say we get it now while we can. I want this. I want us. I want to live here with you, and I want to make babies with you. I want it all to start right here."
Haley's lips turned upwards, exposing her dazzling smile. "I love you." She breathed against his lips, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"I love you, too."
Pecking his lips quickly, Haley then turned around to face Eleanor and gave her a thrilled smile. "We want to buy this house."
"We'll do whatever it takes-" Nathan added.
Eleanor looked at the couple with a satisfied grin. "Well then, let's get started on the paperwork…"
Following her back down the stairs, Haley peaked her head into an empty room and grinned softly to herself. This was the place where all of her dreams would come true. She felt it when she walked through the door. Now walking past these empty rooms, she could see her future flash before her eyes.
Her and Nathan were going to have a lot of fun one day filling those rooms with babies...
Feel free to let me know if you want any particular scenes between Naley because I'm running out of ideas, but I don't want to prolong it. Next chapter will probably be their first house party, then them dealing with their new jobs, and then I may begin to wrap it up. I have big plans for the epilogue :) Keep an eye out for the next update. But first, I'm going to write some more of Hollywood Love Story since that's my absolute favorite project right now! Thanks for the support!
