It's My Own Invention Part 1

The Impala pulled up outside the Elysian Fields Hotel. Lacey glanced out of the window, it was pouring down outside and they had been searching for a hotel for the past hour. They got out of the car and rushed to the reception. They hurried in through the door and up to the desk.

"Whew. Nice digs for once." Dean commented as he shook the droplets of water from his hair. "Busy night." He commented to the guy behind the desk.

"Any port in a storm I guess." He pushed a sign in book towards Dean. "If you could fill this out please."

"Yeah." Dean picked up a pen and began to fill the form out.

"Sir, I think...shaving nick there." The guy indicated a small cut on Dean's neck before handing him a tissue.

"Oh, thanks." Dean took the tissue and held it to his neck.

"Would you like a towel?" The guy asked.

"No, I'm fine." Dean replied as he signed the form.

"I meant the Lady." The Guy said indicating Lacey. Dean turned around, Lacey was standing there her long hair soaked and dripping with rain water, she wasn't exactly dressed for the weather, she was wearing a black lacy vest top, black sweat pants, a grey hoodie and flip flops.

"Oh, right." Dean smiled sheepishly.

"Yes please." Lacey said, taking the offered towel and drying her hair off.

"Hey, you wouldn't happen to have a coffee shop would you?" Dean asked.

"Buffet. All you can eat. Best pie in the tri-state area."

"You don't say." Dean's grin widened.

They made their way into the buffet and Dean headed straight for the dessert table. Lacey sat down at the table and was joined shortly by Sam. Dean headed over with his plate of pie, grinning happily to himself. He sat down opposite them and began to eat, after a moment he put his fork down and studied them. Lacey was picking at a bowl of olives on the table and Sam was studying his cell phone.

"Sam, unpucker man. Eat something."

"We should hit the road Dean."

"In this storm? It's..."

"it's biblical." Sam interrupted. "Exactly. It's friggin' Noah's ark out there and we're eating pie."

"How many hours of sleep did you get this week? What? Three? Four? Bobby's got his feelers out, okay? We have talked with every hoodoo man and root woman in 12 states."

"Yeah well, I'm not giving up."

"Nobody's giving up. Especially me. We're gonna find a way to beat the devil, okay? Soon. I can feel it. And we'll find Cas, we'll find Adam but you are no good to me burnt out."

"Yeah, ."

"Come on, we've actually got the night off for once. Let's enjoy it." Dean finished his pie and got up from the table. They followed him out into the hallway and went to find their room. The passed a young couple making out in front of one of the rooms. Dean pointed at them and grinned. Lacey gave him a small smile back.

"Oh, what are you 12?" Sam asked, shaking his head.

"I'm young at heart." Dean told him. They walked up to the next door and Dean unlocked it. As the door opened they peered inside, the room was large and lavishly decorated. Dean whistled.

"Wow. Look at this. We're like Rockefellers!" He spotted something on the pillow. "Chocolates!" He picked one of them up and began to unwrap it. "You want yours?" He asked Sam.

"Knock yourself out." Dean picked up the information card from the dresser. "Whoa. Casa Erotica 13 on pay per view." Lacey rolled her eyes and Sam scoffed. "What?"

"Isn't this place in the middle of nowhere?" Sam asked.

"So?"

"So what's a four star hotel doing on a no star high way?" Dean's reply was interrupted by the noises coming from the next room. The couple had clearly made their way into their room and they could hear the woman moaning. Lacey looked down pretending to find the carpet interesting. Dean grinned as he saw the blush rising in her cheeks.

"I thought you didn't understand any of this sweetheart?" He asked her playfully. She stared at him for a moment, open mouthed, the color continuing to flush her face.

"I...I don't really." She stuttered. "But while you guys were out the other day I couldn't find the remote so was stuck watching this movie called The Girl Nextdoor." Sam choked trying not to laugh.

"Did you not try to change the channel manually?" Dean asked.

"I...did not know you could do that." Lacey admitted. "So yeah, I blame that movie for ruining my innocence. Not that I really understood all of it." She absentmindedly scratched her head. The noises from the next room continued to rise in volume until the wall began to buckle sending dust all over their room. Lacey jumped at the crashing sound and slammed into Dean who caught her.

"What the...?" She asked.

"You stay here, Sam and I will check it out." Dean told her, releasing his grip on her. The boys went next door to investigate and Lacey headed into the bathroom. When the two of them came back Dean knocked on the door. Lacey opened the door a few inches grinning happily to herself.

"Hey, those two completely disappeared, leaving this behind." Dean held up an engagement ring. "We're gonna see if we can find out what happened to them. What are you so happy about?" He asked as she continued to grin.

"There's a jacuzzi!" She told him.

"Oh yeah?" Dean said peering around her into the bathroom.

"Yep!" Dean adopted his usual grin.

"Want me to join you?" Lacey looked at him a moment pretending to think it over.

"Hmmm lets see... nice relaxing bath all to myself or you seeing me naked and me totally embarrassing myself...yeah it's a tough one." She said thoughtfully before slamming the door in his face. Dean chuckled to himself before heading to the Lobby with Sam.

Lacey had, had a nice long soak in the jacuzzi and was getting dressed into her now dry clothes. She pulled her hair into a ponytail and left the hoodie off as it was still damp. She went out in the the bedroom and found that the guys still hadn't returned. Wondering where they had gone to she headed out to the lobby. When she got there the place was deserted.

"Curiouser and curiouser." She muttered to herself. She headed out to the restaurant where the buffet had been and found this empty too. She came back out into the lobby and looked around. There was another set of doors further down the corridor, she headed over and tried them. They opened up into a busy conference room, a large group of people were sitting around the table while Sam and Dean stood in the middle of the floor.

"Well I guess I found the party." Lacey muttered to herself as all eyes were turned on her. Suddenly the guy from the front desk appeared next to her and closed the door behind her. He indicated she should move further into the room. Lacey put her nose in the air.

"Two can play at that game." She told him and a split second later she was standing next to Sam and Dean. One of the guys sat round the table got to his feet.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, our guests of honor have arrived." Lacey looked at Dean for an answer but he just shrugged his shoulders. "Thank you for coming. Although in all my centuries, I never thought I'd see this. This many Gods in one room."

"Gods?" Sam asked Dean quietly.

"Now before we get down to brass tacks, some ground rules. No slaughtering each other. Curb your wrath. Oh and uh, keep your hands off the local virgins. We're trying to keep a low profile here."

"Damn straight." Lacey muttered to Dean.

"Oh we are so screwed." Sam added.

"Now we all know why we're here. The Judeo-Christian apocalypse looms over us. I know we've all had our little disagreements in the past. The time has come to put those aside and look toward the future. Because if we don't we won't have one. Now we do have three very valuable bargaining chips. Michael and Lucifer's vessels and what the angels refer to as the abomination." Lacey hummphed at this. "The question is, what do we do now? Anybody have any bright ideas? Speak up. This is a safe room." One of the Gods spoke in a foreign language. Another one laughed at him.

"Kill 'em? What so the angels can bring them back again?"

"I don't know what everybody's getting so worked up about!" A gruff older man with a name sticker reading Odin butted in. "Cause it's just a couple of angels having a slap fight. There's no Armageddon. Everybody knows when the world comes to an end, the Great Serpent Jormungandr rises up and I myself will be eaten by a big wolf!" The other god spoke again in a foreign language. "Oh yeah? And why is that?" Odin replied. "Because your beliefs are so much more realistic? The whole world's getting carried around on the back of a giant turtle? Ha! Give me a break!" They carried on arguing and more Gods way-laid in wanting to give their opinions. Sam, Dean and Lacey slowly crept towards the door until the chandelier hanging from the ceiling came crashing down in front of them.

"Stay." The only female God in the room stood up and began to speak. "We have to fight. The archangels, the only thing they understand is violence. This ends in blood. There is no other way, it's us or them." The guy from the front desk stood up.

"With all due respect, ma'am. We haven't even tried talking to them." He suddenly began to choke up blood.

"Kali!" The guy in charge commanded and he stopped choking.

"Who asked you?" She asked turning away from him. Suddenly the doors to the room flew open and Gabriel walked in.

"Can't we all just get along!" He asked dramatically. Dean started to speak but Gabriel snapped his fingers and no sound came out.

"Sam...Dean! It's always wrong place, worst time with you muttonheads, huh?" He smiled at Lacey. "Hey sweet cheeks, long time no see." Lacey rolled her eyes and folded her arms across her chest.

"Loki." The guy in charge nodded at him.

"Baldur. Good seeing you too. I guess my invitation got lost in the mail."

"Why are you here?"

"To talk about the elephant in the room." One of the Gods stood up angrily. "Not you. The Apocalypse. We can't stop it gang. But first things first." He turned his attention back to Sam, Dean and Lacey. "The adults need to have a little conversation. Check you later." He snapped his fingers again and the three of them found themselves back in their room.
