Chapter 37: walking in the dark
Bruno:
I knew that Alakazam would be able to defeat hariyama easily however we stand tall in the overwhelming odds and keep fighting with our last breath. I said "Hariyama, use whirlwind" Hariyama got into a stance as a strong wind arose sending Alakazam back into his pokeball, forcefully sending out Lapras.
Josh smiled and said "Lapras, use blizzard" the strong winds turned cold and filled with shards of ice was send bellowing as Hariyama. I looked surprise to see Hariyama was frozen due to that blizzard attack. Unfortunately I didn't foresee this and didn't pack any ice heals. Josh continued "Lapras, finish Hariyama with surf" the area around me and Josh became moist and humid. As I watched Lapras, it had send out a wave of water that crashed into Hariyama, breaking the ice and dealing alot of damage knocking the pokemon out.
I didn't say but I really was impressed with this kid. Sylveon was more concerned for Lapras aware that fighting types are super effective against ice. Sylveons concern for Lapras grow to the point where he was shaking, I could see it even at this distance.
I called back Hariyama and sent out Machamp. I said "Josh, you're a strong opponent with much skill and kindness however I will not lose today. I will find a way to defeat you" Josh smiled at me knowing that my word wasn't to be taken lightly and he called Lapras back. Sylveon was made more confused when he sent out Charizard.
With that in mind, it made me wonder what Josh was planning with lapras. Does he really have that much faith in his pokemon? sylveon swapped one of Joshs pokeballs for one it was holding. Being too busy thinking of what he was planning, I said "Machamp, use dynamic punch" Machamp focused power into one of his fists and charged at Lapras. His fist began to glow like a super heated light bulb however his punch missed.
Josh smiled and said "Lapras, use surf" water gathered around Lapras even in this type of surrounding and sent a wave of water to Machamp. I was worried, how could I evade this attack or even block it? Then I had an idea.
I said "Machamp, use stone edge" Josh was confused as was Sylveon when the ground cracked open and stone spikes burst out blocking the wave of water. I smiled feeling happy it worked but the sight of a smile of Joshs face didn't put my mind at easy, why is he confident?
He looked around the room and Sylveon just looked at Machamp, waiting for him to make some kind of move to get involved in the fight. Josh said "Lapras, use ice beam" Lapras shot a beam of light blue energy out of its mouth, I was expecting it to be aimed at Machamp but the target was the water. It froze the water and help Machamp in place, unable to dodge, block or even stop any attack.
Josh:
I smiled as that part of my plan had work. By trapping Machamp in its place I can attack effectively. I said "ok Lapras, now use sheer cold" Lapras started to glow light blue and sent out a small wave that froze the water then sent a larger wave that froze Machamp and created a spiked terrain all out of ice.
The ice broke and knocked Machamp out cold. I was happy that the plan had worked perfectly and I could tell Bruno was surprised by it greatly. He called back Machamp and sent out his final pokemon, Lucario. I heard that this one has great agility skills and was fast with its attacks, I have to be careful and look for a weak spot or look for a delay in the next lunge in its jumping.
I called back lapras and sent charizard out, who had a great rest from the last battle he took place in. Charizard let out a battle roar and exhaled fire ready for the final part of the fight.
Bruno said "Lucario, use extreme speed" as Lucario dashed from one wall to another, it slammed Charizard with afew light attacks dealing little damage. While everyone was distracted with the fight, Sylveon noticed that the pokeball with Alakazam in it disappeared. Sylveon was confused and looked around.
Charizard could take the beating from the Lucario but finding an opening was more difficult than expected. Lucario landed in front of us and took up its usual stance. Bruno said "ok Lucario, use iron tail" Lucario moved fast and hit Charizard hard. I watched knowing a way to stop its speed and smiled confusing Bruno more.
As Charizard took the beating, I couldn't help but feel Charizard was feeling the same way as me. We both smiled and I said "ok Charizard, we're going in the offensive. Charizard use fire blast and as often as you can"
Charizard started shooting fire balls as much as he could, trying to hit the Lucario. The Lucario was doing well to avoid all of them by running around, zig-zagging left then right and even running up the walls. It was going how I wanted it and by the looks on Brunos face, he doesn't know what I was planning.
I continued "ok Charizard, use flame thrower" Charizard shot fire from its mouth making the Lucario stay on the wall running. The flamethrower attack forced the Lucario up the wall of the room restricting its movement. I smiled as Bruno was still confused. I said "Charizard, finish this with heat wave" Charizard shot a wave of heat from its mouth filling the room with the intense heat, hitting Lucario and making him knocked out.
Bruno was really surprised and smiled calling Lucario back. He said to me "you fought very well and you're heart was true. You have truly have built a connection between your pokemon. You can move on to the last of the elite 4, I wish you the best of luck but before you go please rest and heal. You will need it" we rested, since it felt 2pm and we had lunch.
After the rest me and Sylveon thanked Bruno and walked through the door heading toward the last of the elite 4. What were we to expect next I have no clue but me and my pokemon comrades will face it together.
