Friday came, and Jade was looking for Trina. Last night, after she'd gone home, a question had forced it's way into her head. That question had dominated more and more of her thoughts, until it started robbing her of her sleep. She needed an answer, not matter ow insane it was, ,her mind needed the closure, and so Jade was looking to get it fom the one source she knew had it. After a few minutes of searching, asking everyone if they'd seen Trina, she spotted both Vega sisters entering the school. "Trina, there you are." Jade paused long enough to kiss her girlfriend and confirm that no one was going to listen in on their conversation. "I was wondering, the daycare and nursery school near by..."

"Yep." Trina said. "Most of the kid have parents who work in one of the scads of businesses near by, or live in the neighborhood homes, and we all know day care is a place to be while the parents are working. Of course, with just over six hundred students, we do have a couple of teen parents, and Hollywood Arts has a deal with them to take care of those kids while their parents get an education."

"Do we know..." Jade started.

"I make it a point not to care." Tori replied. "One of Trina's friends is a mother, but other than her, it could be anyone. It's just not worth worrying about unless your friends with the person, and then, if they tell you, you try to be cool about it. Better for everyone if the parent gets their education, and that's easiest to do if they don't have to explain everything to anyone they don't want to."

"Also, as much as this happens among the gangs, anyone can make a mistake, or plan one." Trina added. "I guess I'm saying, unless your invited to know, don't go looking for who might be a parent, just let them be kids for a while longer. And you, just be Jade."

"I can do that." The goth said. "But if I'm about to pick on somebody mother, let me know."

"My god, what have you done with Jade?" Tori asked, in the most over dramatic fashion she could.

"What?" Jade said. "I know what it's like to have my parents stressed out. Maybe I could go easier on somebody who's already living with their choices."

"You're...You're learning!" Trina joined in.

"And I'm not going to just let you rib me for that." The goth said, glaring at the Vega's.

"I know." Tori said, stifling a chuckle. "And I know we're risking a mysterious, scissor related accident, but it's just so different to see you caring about, well, anyone."

"Except Cat." Trina added. "What? You called her family and arranged for her to live with her, what's she called, Nona?"

"So!" Jade shot back, only to relent. "Okay, you got me, I care about my friends. Happy?"

"Yep." Tori said, a smile dominating her face. They started walking towards class. "Now all we have to worry about is what are we doing tonight."

"Fudge!" Jade stopped in her tracks. "I was so caught up in the whole parents thing, I forgot to plan our date."

"Then let me plan it." Tori said. "I have rehearsal right after class, then maybe we could go to Nozu?"

"Or I could take you someplace special." Jade said. "I know!" Then she looked at her girlfriend. "I'll make arrangements while your rehearsing my play. If all goes right, this will be an awesome, memorable date."

"I know it will, but really, we don't need to do anything more fancy than dinner at Nozu." Tori said. She sounded worried.

"But I think we can." Jade said. "Also, I suspect, this is past due. Oh yes, it's time." Jade's smile was scaring the underclassmen, so Tori pulled her into a kiss then scampered off to class. Jade was left in the halls, smirking, before she too left for class.

Trina watched the two head off, then sent Scotty a text.

Scotty (From Trina) – I think it's time I met your parents.

Trina took a deep breath. 'No going back now. It's time to meet the people my boyfriend comes from.' She thought as she headed to her first class.

Trina got her reply as she was making her way to her second class of the day. She took a moment to read it, then plunged into her academic work, the text still fresh in her mind.

Trina (From Scotty) – You mean my parents will finally stop accusing me of making up my perfect girlfriend? I'll make the arrangements.

By the time class got out, she'd planned her reply.

Scotty (From Trina) – Just make sure their ready for the full Trina experience. Seriously, I'm dying to meet the people who raised such a good cop.

By the time they were at lunch, Trina was planning just what to wear. She decided to get Jade and Tori's advice. It was easy enough, they were sitting with their usual group, talking about whatever was the current hot topic. Today, it was who Beck's new secret admirer was, and Tori trying to get Jade to tell her what big plans she'd made.

"Tori, Jade, Cat, I'm meeting Scotty's parents today. What should I wear?" She asked.

"Tori, do you still have that church dress I said was ugly?" Jade asked.

"It's not ugly, it's just you're not used to classy clothing." Tori shot back. "And no, I got rid of it because people kept telling me it was ugly." Tori pouted. Jade put her fingers under her girlfriends chin, turning the singers head until she could kiss Tori's lips.

"If you have a picture, I could make it." Cat said.

"Or..." Beck interrupted. "I could send Cat a picture of something nice, and she could make that for you." Everyone ignored Beck's comment.

"I'm going on my date tonight. You won't have time to make something from scratch." Trina said. Cat stopped to think, but shook her head. "I'll just wear Jade's black and green dress. That's kinda classy." Jade started to glare at her. "What? Your dating my sister, so your cloths become available."

Becks laughter echoed through the Asphalt Cafe, and students moved away, fearing Jade's wrath might spill out and catch them in the blast radious. But Cat seemed to understand, and offered her a soft touch, calming the black belt even as Tori glared at the ditzy girl.

"Jade, relax, I can make her something." The redhead said.

"No, it's probably okay for her to borrow my cloths. But I want it cleaned before I get it back, and Trina, this is important, you will talk to Cat and make a visiting the parents wardrobe." Jade advised.

"Jade's gone soft?" Someone said.

"No, Jade's training Trina, and felt like rewarding her for her hard work. Anyone else want to see my softer side, come and try it on for size!" Jade announced to the whole school. No one approached, but Burf could be seen holding Sinjin back.

"Did you have to do that?" Tori asked, pouting more.

"I don't want them to know I've gone soft." Jade replied. "Besides, it's just you nuts I have any feelings for. The rest of the world can just go and jank itself."

"But I thought you were committed to helping the kids at the center?" Tori frowned, her pout growing.

"Means to an end. If the programs a success, then the dojo gets the rep and I earn brownie points. It's a win win, with everyone's lives getting a little better." The goth said. "My family will let me be a Sensei in their classes, and my brother will..." Jade faded out.

"Your brother will love you?" Tori asked, her pout gone. If anything, she was suddenly annoyed. "Jade, I thought you'd gone through this. He loves you just fine now. You don't have to earn his love."

"Like it's that easy." Robbie chimed in. "My therapist says old patterns, old beliefs, they can be so ingrained that even when you discover them, and work to counter them, they can still sometimes be the motivation behind out actions. Jade may know her family loves her, and that nothing she does changes that, but inside she still believes she has to earn love, and can lose it so easily." Everyone was staring at him. "What, you pick stuff up." He defended himself.

"Jade's admitting to liking people, Trina's singing, Robbie's the voice of reason and wisdom, has the world flipped on it's head?" Andre asked. "If Cat starts spouting philosophy, I'm out."

"Relax Dre, I kinda expected this from Robbie. He's been in enough therapy to know something." Beck said. "But he's right, I think. Jade, just because your brother, your family, is trying to show you they love you, doesn't mean you've dealt with the problems you've had in the past. When you're ready, you should talk to someone about it. Like Lane, or someone competent. Just make sure that you don't do something stupid for love, when the person loves you and wants you to be safe."

Tori's eyes were on Beck, her hair flipping from the speed her head turned. She smiled at him, offering her "Thanks", but her eyes screamed 'Mine!'

"Experience?" Trina asked, patiently.

"Yea. I still care about Jade, but I understand, it was time to let go. We were no good for each other." Beck said. "Besides, the whole lesbian thing is kinda a deal breaker." His smile said he was joking, so Tori let it go.

"I'm guessing your saying you just didn't have the ovaries for the job." Jade replied, her own smile showing she was trying.

"And with that, Cat is out." Cat said, causing everyone to stare. "What? I can't be cool?"

"I'll be in touch about the parental friendly wardrobe." Trina said. "And Jade, you don't have to lend me that dress, it's just, well, it's really classy, and I want them to like me."

"I'll get it during rehearsal. Bring it over to your place." Jade said. "You'd better be using that App. Andre got you."

"Every day." Trina replied. "Every day. And let me tell you, I still can't hear the difference, but I can see it on my phone." At the looks from her sister and friends, she continued. "I'll get it. It may take time, maybe years, but I'll get it."

"I know you will." Jade said. Smiling.

Later that day, Jade brought the dress to the Vega residence. "Trina, I was thinking, your Fellini boots..." Jade stopped, seeing Trina and holly sitting, waiting for her. "Okay, whats up?"

"I was going to ask you the same thing?" Trina said. "What kind of memorable date are you planning with Tori?"

"She's meeting my mother, and I asked my father and stepmother to drop by, if possible." Jade said. "I thought we trusted each other. You know I wouldn't do anything inappropriate."

Holly visibly relaxed. Trina, however, had the same look of concern on her face. "It's not my story to tell, but we have reason to worry about Tori." The older sister said. "I just want to make sure no one gets hurt. Tori may not be in the same place as you are, relationship wise."

"It's okay." Jade said. "I'm not planning on a physical relationship for a while now, and I'd never expect Tori to do anything before she's ready."

"Even if she begged?" Holly asked.

"What?" Jade replied. The black belt was confused.

"Tori's a people pleader, and sometimes it caused problems. So far, nothing illegal, but trust me, we had our reasons to talk to the janitor for that time he gave her a chocolate mop for Valentines day." Holly said.

"MOM!" Trina screeched. "Look, help me get ready, and make sure your parents are ready to meet Tori. But take the time to talk to Tori about this. It's not as bad as it sounds, but still, it's her story to tell."

When exactly did I start adding adult themes to this story? It was supposed to be clean, something to take the edge off from writing Reflections, but it's been slowly getting more and more serious. Oh well...

I was thinking (Review) of trying subliminal messages (Review) to get you to review. (Review) But then I realized (Review) your too smart for that to work, (Review) so please review. (Review)
