A/N: After a dark chapter thought I would try a lighter one, this will mainly be filler before we get to the next gym battle.

Ollivine City Training field

Ash stood on the training field with Bayleef, Totadile and Cyndaquil. They had returned yesterday with the Medicine for Jasmine, and has promised she had agreed to battle this afternoon. Ash already knew what Pokemon he was going to use, but he had realised, with everything that had happened, he hadn't done much training with his younger family members.

"Okay you three time for some serious training. Totadile I want you to pair off against Cyndaquil and Bayleef. As you have evolved then you can spar with Jolteon. Okay guys this is a competition, the winner of each match with get to face each other in the final battle. The match will end when you let me know when you have had enough. Okay Totadile you're up against Cyndaquil."

Both Pokemon happily ran onto the field and faced each other. Both awaited for Ash's signal. "Okay three, two, one go!""

Totodile immediately started off with hydro pump, which caused Cyndaquil to use agility to dodge it. He then tackled Totadile causing the water type to skid back a little.

"Nice job Cyndaquil."

Cyndaquil was filled with confident from Ash's praise and went on the attack again, this time it jumped and somersaulted producing a shower of spectral stars that were heading for Totadile.

Totodile used his Water gun to knock all the stars away from him, he then charged forward with his claws glowing. He slashed left and right at Cyndaquil who was flipping backwards to avoid the attacks. Once he had got enough distance he curled up into a ball and engulfed himself in flames. He then rolled into Totadile who intercepted with his dragon claw.

Totadile jumped back and then began to stomp its feet in frustration, suddenly it was engulfed by a bright blue light. It was evolving. Totodile had gotten fed up of his brother beating him, and his frustration had caused him to evolve.

Ash was pleased, that was two out of three now only Cydaquil was left. "Welcome to the team Croconaw. Good job on evolving, now let me see how much stronger you are."

Croconaw jumped around happily however soon as Ash had asked him to show him his power, he locked eyes with Cyndaquil, and then began to dance. It was using dragon dance to raise its attack, and speed. It then charged towards Cyndaquil who had jumped up and used swift. Croconaw used dragon claw to bat all the stars away, it then landed several slashes on Cyndaquil who jumped back and winced. Croconaw seeing he had done some damage opened its mew and unleashed a torrent of water towards Cyndaquil.

Cyndaquil jumped up above the stream of water, and then used swift again, this time the attack hit their mark and dazed Croconaw. Cyndaquil curled it self into a ball and then used flame wheel from the air, he smashed into the dazed Croconaw who went skidding backwards.

Ash was impressed, even if Cyndaquil hadn't evolved yet, he was putting everything into each of his attacks. The use of swift and then chaining that with Flame wheel was very good. "Good job Cyndaquil"

Meanwhile Cynthia and Sabrina was sat on the side lines watching their boyfriend. Last night Ash had woken up in a cold sweat and started to cry, about what he had done the previous day. Both Sabrina and Cynthia has then hugged him and given him a kiss, they both kept telling Ash that it wasn't his fault, and that they both loved him, and thought no different of him. Ash had then admitted that was one of the things he was scared of, losing control and hurting one of them by mistake. Both girls had reassured him, that they would do all they can to help him control his aura. After that Ash had drifted back to sleep.

Cynthia looked over towards Ash. "You think this is a good idea, you know battling so soon after what has happened. Maybe we should give it a few days, we're way ahead of schedule."

Sabrina shook her head. "Right now Ash needs a distraction, and training and battling is something he is very passionate about. We can't let him dwell on the past, we have to push forward. This will not be the first blood Ash will have on his hand Cynthia."

Cynthia looked at Sabrina with surprise, she new Sabrina could see into the future, even if it was snippets here and there, but she had never disclosed that Ash would kill more people. Cynthia wondered what had Sabrina seen. "Sabrina have you seen Ash kill in the future then? What happens?"

Sabrina shook her head. "The destiny of Ash is a long and twisted path, you and I need to make sure he doesn't stray from the path that has been prepared for him. Many will die, but a lot more will be saved in the end, if Ash continue on the path Lord Arceus has set for him. As for your question those deaths in the future are all unavoidable, many will see Ash as an enemy and many will try to take his life, that will be their undoing."

Cynthia shivered a little, what Sabrina had said, was a little scary, however she and Sabrina had promised to help Ash in any way they can. Both girls then turned back to the training field and continued to watch the battle between Croconaw and Cyndaquil.

Both Pokemon growled, and stared at each other, both were covered in bruises from their intense battle. Croconaw open it mew once more and unleashed a power Hydro pump, however Cyndaquil had been ready and burrowed under ground to avoid it. Croconaw looked on worried, Cyndaquil hadn't used dig yet, and there was no way to know where it was going to pop up from, Suddenly the ground erupted and Croconaw turned its head, only to get hit with a powerful flame wheel. It gently swayed before falling down.

Ash stepped onto the field. "Okay that's the end, Cyndaquil is the winner, you both battled really hard and I am very proud of both of you." Ash removed some super potion and began to heal both Totadile and Cyndaquil. He then hugged both of them and recalled the two Pokemon. He then turned to Jolteon and Bayleef. "Okay you two your turn."

Bayleef and Jolteon raced onto the field and stood opposite each other. Both waited for Ash to start the battle, soon as he gave the order both attacked. Bayleef started off with bullet seed and fired a barrage of seeds towards Jolteon, who used double team, and created several copies.

"Good Job Jolteon." Bayleef eyes narrowed, Ash was praising Jolteon for being a coward and avoiding her attack. She then used her leaf on her head to spread a pink mist over the field, all the copies suddenly vanished.

"Good use of sweet scent Bayleef," The grass type started to dance around after getting praise from Ash, however she didn't notice that Jolteon had used Pin missle and now several had hit her. As Pin Missle was a bug attack, then the attack was super effective.

Ash frowned, Bayleef was getting distracted again, she needed to learn to keep her eyes on the opponent. "Bayleef you need to keep an eye on your opponent at all times, had you been focusing on Jolteon and his attack, you could have used your leaf to deflect that attack."

Bayleef looked down, Ash was upset with her, she shook her head and nodded. She then roared and charged towards Jolteon planning to body slam it, however as she used the attack, Jolteon used double team again to avoid it. He then opened his mouth and yawned.

Bayleef was hit with the yawn attack, and suddenly felt a little drowzy, it stepped back and started to sway from side to side. It then fell and started to sleep.

Ash shook his head, obviously he would need to spend more time on training Bayleef. "Good Job Jolteon." Ash walked over to Bayleef and administer the awaken potion, which woke Bayleef, who suddenly looked around confused. "Jolteon won the match Bayleef, he used Yawn and you fell asleep."

Bayleef lowered her head. "But, I thought you said we would continue until we asked to stop, I might have woken up on my own."

Ash sighed. "I decided to call the match, you're too distracted and I have decided that you need some one on one training with me. Body slam is a powerful move, but it is no good to use it when your Opponent can still move. Now had you used stun spore, and paralysed Jolteon then you could have caused him some problems.

"Not likely, she too goo goo eyes for you boss, everyone know she like you more than just a trainer, she likes you has a mate. We have tried to tell her it was never going to happen but it doesn't seem to be sinking in." Jolteon ran over to Cynthia, he liked it when his trainers mates fawned over him.

Ash looked down towards Bayleef, and noticed the pink tint on her cheeks. "Is that right Bayleef, you see me as a mate?"

Bayleef didn't answer and instead looked away from Ash, causing the young trainer to shake his head. "Bayleef I can't be your mate, I am human after all, if I am causing too much of a distraction to you during battles, then maybe it best if I send you back to the lab, for a little break,"

Bayleef shook her head, and nuzzled Ash. "Please don't, I will be good I promise. I want to stay with you."

Ash stood up and scratched the back of his head. "Okay you can stay, but you have to get over this crush you have on me. I am your Dad/trainer whatever you want to call me, but I can't be anything more then that."

Bayleef lowered her head and nodded, she then allowed Ash to recall her. Ash decided to call it there for the morning, he walked over to Cynthia and Sabrina and noticed Jolteon had curled up in Cynthia lap, and was growling affectionately as she stroked his fur.

"You wouldn't be trying to steal one of my mates now would you Jolteon?" The electric type jumped up and run over to his trainer, and sat on his hind legs and shook his head. He knew Ash was joking, but decided to play along, and looked guilty." Ash laughed and then recalled him, he noticed Pikachu hopped off Sabrina and raced up his arm. "You ready buddy, we hit the gym this afternoon."

Pikachu shrugged. "Shame it not a water or ice gym, I could battle then, however I think I will leave the steel types to the others."

Ash laughed again. "By the way buddy, why didn't you tell me about Bayleef?"

Pikachu blinked in surprise. "Oh you found out about that did you, we have all tried to explain it to her, but maybe it was best it came from you."

Ash nodded and then turned to both Sabrina and Cynthia, he noticed their confused looks, he felt a little sad that neither could communicate with their Pokemon like he could. He knew it would help Cynthia a lot. Ash removed princess ball and made sure no one was around. He then let her out and watched as she twirled up and around his head.

"Princess would you do me a really big favour. Would you allow Cynthia and Sabrina to talk and understand Pokemon too. After all we are in this bond, and I feel their relationship with their pokemon will be able to grow deeper and stronger if they had the same gift."

Mew looked over to both Sabrina and Cynthia, she was about to say no, when she heard the voice of Arceus.

"It is okay my daughter, both of them have earned this gift, after helping Ash."

Mew sighed. "Very well Daddy" She then flew above Sabrina and Cynthia head, and covered them with some fine pink dust, causing both girls to sneeze. She then flew back to Ash and transformed into another Pikachu. She then sat on his left shoulder.

Sabrina and Cynthia were still sneezing from the mist. "Ash, what did you just ask Mew to do?" Cynthia was busy brushing the pink dust off her clothes.

Ash smiled. "Well you know how I can communicate with Pokemon, well I thought it would be good if you both had the same gift. Princess has just given you the ability to talk to and understand Pokemon."

Ash suddenly found both girls jump into him, which caused him to stumble. Princess was about to use thunderbolt, when Pikachu stopped her, and shook his head. Ash found himself trapped under both girls as they hugged him and thanked him over and over again. Eventually both allowed Ash to get off the ground, after he brushed himself down he and the girls headed towards the Pokemon Centre where he and Cynthia would prepare for their upcoming battle against Jasmine.
