A/N: Hey everyone! You better be happy I'm doing this… It's going on three in the morning and I have classes in the morning… but yeah, wanted to get this ready to post tomorrow instead of fighting to make time to do it during the day. Plus I just got off a three and a half hour streak of Slender: The Arrival with some friends so sleeping isn't on my agenda anytime soon ^.^; Yup, without further ado let's get this bad boy started…

Disclaimer: The likelihood of me owning these characters is as high as the likelihood that Slendy is real.

Plots and Plans

Agnus nudged the demon's body with his foot, eying the former soldier critically.

"I never anticipated that the energy would be unstable…" he muttered, pulling a pocketbook and pen from his coat to make a quick note of it. The scientist himself had never experienced any difficulties with his energies being unstable but… he had made a lot of improvements since the experiments on Credo. The body at his feet shuffled and made a low growl and Agnus decided that it would be a good idea to get out of that area and move on with his objective anyway.

He gave a curt knock on the door and waited, the very same Ms. Kate that had answered Credo answered again.

"Can I help you?" she said shortly.

"Yes, I do believe you c-c-can. I'm looking for a b-boy who goes by the name of Nero, he's shorter, has white hair?" the scientist said, feeling his excitement rile up more and more, they were so close… they just needed the boy… An irritated frown crossed the orphanage head's face.

"One of your men was just here, I'll tell you what I told him, there's never been anyone here by the name of Nero, I suggest you look elsewhere and bother somebody else." She snapped, going to slam the door only to be stopped by Agnus' foot.

"I believe that he's no longer here b-but he was here, that m-m-much we know for sure, where is the boy now?"

"He's not here."

"Where is he?"

"How should I know? He ran off." The old woman huffed, turning her nose in the air. Agnus leaned close; enough that his oily face was inches from Ms. Kate's own.

"If I find out that you're lying you w-w-won't have j-just yourself to worry about… b-but all your little ch-ch-children too." He growled before pulling his foot from the doorway and letting it slam closed. Feeling set back but still mildly successful, the scientist turned with a slight grin on his face to go take care of the pest that he had left lying in the woods… only to find that Credo was no longer there, the damned winged demon must've taken off…

-Family of Happenstance-

Dante looked at his son in surprise, Nero's face was full of hope and self-loathing, the slayer often forgot how much his son was affected by having a blatant sign of his demonic blood. There'd been quite a few times that a customer had walked in the door and the teen would immediately shove his arm out of sight. It broke the elder's heart every time he did.

"What?" he rumbled, cursing the fact that his demonic form didn't allow him to express as much in his voice as he needed to.

"If I could Trigger, do you think I'd be able to make my arm go back to normal?" the younger asked again. Dante let his Trigger go, ruffled his son's hair and grabbed the demonic limb with both hands.

"Nero. Your arm is normal, it's normal for you. You're not entirely human but that's okay, you're a good kid and a good person, there's nothing more you could ask for." The teen refused to meet his eyes, instead staring at his feet.

"I don't want it to be normal for me…" he mumbled "I want to be normal like everyone else…"

"Hey." Dante said, when the partial devil continued to stare at the ground he cleared his throat and tired again. "Hey. Nero, look at me." Nero looked up at his father, tears starting to well up in his eyes. The half devil gave a tiny smile.

"C'mon, it's not all bad is it? How many times since you've come here have you had to go get a flashlight?" he asked. Nero shuffled before answering.

"Not very many…"

"And how many times have you been able to get the upper hand in our spars because you have an arm that can punch down trees?"

"A bunch…"

"And now you just found out you can grapple stuff, that's pretty cool isn't it?" the elder continued

"I guess…"

"See? It's not all bad is it?" he asked again, the teen gave a halfhearted shrug and Dante wrapped him into a hug. "It'll all be okay kiddo, I promise alright?" Nero hugged his father back tightly, hoping that the man was right and that everything would work out in the end…

"Now." The half devil said when they pulled apart. "Are you gonna eat this sandwich? Because I made it for you and if you don't eat it I'm gonna be insulted and think that my cooking sucks." Nero gave a small grin, it didn't quite reach his eyes, but it was a start.

"Your cooking always sucks." He said before snagging the sandwich and taking a massive bite.

"You feeling any better?" the elder asked after a few moment of silence. The teen just shrugged. Dante smiled and ruffled his son's hair, much to the younger's annoyance. "Tell ya what, why don't you give Mitch a call, I know he's still probably got family over but if you two can get together, it'll brighten your spirits, I know it."

"It'd be okay if I left? It is Thanksgiving." Nero asked, he knew the slayer was right, seeing his friend would make him feel better but…

"I'll just give those money stealing leeches a call, they're always up for some mischief." Dante smirked and the partial devil returned it with a small smile, grabbing his phone and punching in Mitch's number.

A/N: okay so it wasn't that exciting of a chapter but you know what? I don't care… things'll pick up in the next few so for now, randomness. And now… sleep.

Till next time,
