CHAPTER 36 – BREAKWAY

"Yes, thanks, Ella. I'll tell them," Rachel exclaimed from the living room of her apartment. "Santana is at home with me, but I think Sam is a little busy right now." She turned to see Santana walk out of her room at the sound of her name. "Of course, I can be there tomorrow. Shooting a solo video would be amazing."

Rachel hung up her phone and turned to see Santana giving her a look of wonder that quickly turned into annoyance waiting for her roommate to answer. "Well, do I have to stand here all day or are you going to tell me what that was all about?"

"I'll do you one better," Rachel smiled. "I'll show you."

She walked over to the desk in their living room and pulled up YouTube. "That was Ella. She called to tell us the acoustic version of the song we did with Sam just went live."

Santana walked over and stood next to her as she clicked on the link and the video began.

(Last Kiss by Taylor Swift – acoustic cover by Boyce Avenue f/ Megan & Liz)

(Performed by Rachel Berry, Sam Evans, and Santana Lopez)

The golden glow of warm lights filled the screen. They both recognized the auditorium at McKinley as the setting, but it looked so different in this light.

SANTANA: I still remember the look on your face. Lit through the darkness at 1:58. The words that you whispered for just us to know. You told me you loved me, so why did you go away? Away.

At the same time, Sam and Blaine walked through Battery Park and towards the 9-11 Memorial together. As Sam looked into his eyes, he remembered a moment three summers earlier. It was the day after Blaine kissed him for the first time standing out in front of his house as Blaine prepared to leave. He remembered walking up to him and telling him not to give up on him and he couldn't help but smile.

SAM: I do recall now the smell of the rain. Fresh on the pavement, you ran off the plane. That July ninth, the beat of my heart it jumped through my shirt. Hope you still feel my arms.

The boys stopped to overlook the fountain at the Memorial and admire its beauty together.

RACHEL: Now I'll go sit on the floor, wearing your clothes. All that I know is I don't know how to be something you miss. I never thought we'd have a

The girls continued watching the video of the three of them singing.

ALL: Last kiss, I never imagined we'd end like this. Your name,

RACHEL: forever the name on my lips.

SANTANA: I do remember the swing in your step. The life of the party, you're showing off again. And I'd roll my eyes and then you'd pull me in. I'm not much for dancing, but for you I did.

SAM: Because you love my handshake, meeting your father. Said he loved how I walk with my hands in my pockets, how I'd kiss you when you were in the middle of saying something. I pray that you still miss those rude interruptions.

At the Memorial, Sam looked off in the distance, but Blaine's eyes were firmly on Sam.

PEZBERRY: Now I'll go sit on the floor, wearing your clothes. All that I know is that I don't know how to be something you miss. I never thought we'd have a

ALL: last kiss. I never imagined we'd end like this. Your name, forever the name of my lips.

Sam turned and his eyes connected with Blaine's. He couldn't help but smile.

RACHEL: So I'll

ALL: watch your life in pictures like I used to watch you sleep, and I'll feel you forget me like I used to feel you breathe.

RACHEL: And I'll

ALL: keep up with our old friends just to ask them how

RACHEL: you are. Hope it's nice where you are. And I hope the sun shines and it's a beautiful day, and something reminds you, you wish you had stayed.

SAM: I never planned on making you cry, but not letting go would be living a lie.

The video continued to play as they watched.

RACHEL: Just like our last kiss

SAM: Forever the name on my lips.

SANTANA: Forever the name on my lips

RACHEL: Just like our last . . .

Blaine finally broke the intense eye contact by speaking. "What are you thinking about?"

"I'm thinking about kissing you," Sam spoke sweetly and honestly. "But I promised myself that I wouldn't let that happen until we finished our talk. I think there are still some things we need to discuss, don't you?"

"I do," Blaine agreed.

"I'll start with my answer to the sex question," Sam motioned to a bench that was secluded enough that they could have a conversation. He wasn't sure how to begin his speech so he just started talking. "Doctor said if I wanted to move forward and answer the question I had to first understand why I did the things I've done in the past."

"That wasn't part of the question you told me about," Blaine recognized.

"I left that part out because I wasn't sure how the answers to the first two questions would go and figured why put it all out there if we never even made it this far, but we did. We're here and now I've got to do this. I want to tell you everything because I do love you, Blaine, and I believe if we have any chance of being together again we have to be completely honest with each other. That has to start with me."

"Sam, do you really think this is for the best?" Blaine questioned, but Sam just continued on with his explanation.

"I don't think you ever met Derek, but he was the choreographer for Magic Mike. We had sex six times. Throughout most of the movie I knew that he was horny for me, but I continued to let him down easy because he is a really sweet guy and I didn't want to hurt his feelings. After things went bad between us I fell to the temptation. When things started getting weird between everyone and me I fell for it a lot."

"Did you develop feelings for him?" Blaine needed to know.

"Beyond finding him attractive and thinking he was a sweet guy, no. I could make up something that sounds nice but in truth, having sex with him was like a band-aid. It made things feel better for a little while but it didn't heal anything." Sam watched Blaine for a negative reaction, but it didn't come. "That would bring us back to Lindsey."

"We don't have to talk about Lindsey," Blaine insisted. "You already explained that. I know it was a concoction of way too much alcohol and not enough reasons not too. I forgave you and her already."

"But I need to see your eyes when you say it, Blaine. I need to know that it doesn't still hurt you. I know it's one of your biggest fears to lose me to a girl and part of you has to think I did it on purpose because I was mad, but I didn't. I would never do something like that to you. I need to know that you know that," Sam assured him.

Blaine took his hand. "I do know that," Blaine attempted a smile as he took Sam's hand. "You're not the only one who has grown up over the past few months."

Sam grinned. "I can see that. Mentally and physically you've grown. I see Colton really has turned you into his workout buddy."

"I think he and Sebastian make me go with them to keep them from molesting each other in front of everyone. Trust me there have been some close calls too," Blaine snickered before getting serious. "I guess it's my turn to answer this part of the question."

"Not quite. There's one other person," Sam confessed causing Blaine's eyes to dart open trying to figure out who he didn't know about. "It's Tyler, Blaine. We never really talked about me cheating with him."

Blaine sat there quiet for a moment before saying, "That's the first time you've called it cheating."

"Well that's what it was so I should call it that," Sam continued. "I wanted to act like it was to get back at you but that's what I made myself believe because I couldn't handle the guilt." Sam stood from the bench and moved to sit on the back of it and put his feet in the seat. "I won't blame it on alcohol or on Tyler. He was hurt. He'd been rejected and he came to me for comfort. He just wasn't the only one that needed it."

He briefly looked down at Blaine and then back towards the Memorial.

"I did it because I wanted to believe that your theory about blow jobs was right and that I was wrong. That you could have them without getting emotionally attached because if I could prove that it would mean that everything was okay."

"But you realized that I was wrong and you were right," Blaine prodded.

"Not at all," Sam surprised him. "Because the whole time it was happening I thought about how much I wanted it to be you. In my head I convinced myself it was you. It was afterwards, after Tyler left my room, that I realized the physical action and the emotional attachment I had were two different things. So in that aspect you were completely right, but it still didn't make what I did okay because I felt it was wrong and that's what matters most." Sam paused to compose himself. "I'm really sorry I did that to you Blaine."

Blaine accepted his apology before looking at his watch. "I want to give you my answer, but we'll have to do it while we walk because I have to be at the theatre in an hour. Want to walk me there?"

Sam held out his hand. "Let's go."

Across town, at the Spotlight Diner, Zach and Lindsey sat to have an early dinner with Tyler as their waiter. Artie and Tina were both working as well. For their part, Zach and Lindsey had been in meetings with the rest of Five Star Management. Pre-production on the television pilot would begin in less than 48 hours.

"You two have been invisible the last couple of weeks," Tyler commented after taking their order. "I don't think I've seen either one of you since Blaine's birthday."

"We're all working our asses off getting things set up for this pilot," Zach confirmed.

"Yeah, Brody and Keahu have both been working hard getting ready. Which basically means they are working out three times a day and walking around shirtless all the time," Tyler rolled his eyes.

"I wouldn't think you'd mind that," Lindsey teased. "And I knew you had a new roommate but I haven't had the chance to meet him yet. Is he a nice guy?"

"It's taken some getting used to but he's a nice guy. Brody moved out of our room and in with Artie so Keahu is rooming with me. He's super clean and I'm not. He's completely zen and I'm not. He's quiet and controlled and I'm obviously not so you can imagine how well we get along," Tyler tried to smile.

Lindsey noticed something there that she'd seen in her friend before. "It might be good for you, Ty. You never know."

He didn't want to hear what else she might say. "Let me go put your order in." He walked away and left the happy couple sitting there alone. Zach spoke up.

"I want to finish our conversation from this morning," Zach insisted.

"Here?" Lindsey questioned his motives. "Zach, let's wait until we get home."

"Lindsey, every time I bring it up you want to change the subject," Zach confirmed.

She knew he was right. It was a subject that she didn't want to think about at all. The fact that the baby growing inside her could belong to two men that she cared for. She worried what would happen when the paternity was finally discovered.

"All I'm saying is it's a conversation that you, Sam, and I need to have. Every day that we wait to have it is a day closer to the baby being born," Zach declared.

"I agree but we still have more than seven months. The paternity won't be known until he or she is here," Lindsey reminded.

"But we need to know what we are going to do before then," Zach prodded. "And you can't tell me that Sam would say any different. He's a good man and he'll want what is best for you and the baby whether he's the father or I am."

"He might not think that if he knew what you suggested," Lindsey whispered because it was the last thing she wanted anyone to hear.

"What are you two fighting over?"

The couple looked up to see Quinn Fabray standing there with several shopping bags in her hands.

"We're not fighting just continuing a disagreement from work," Lindsey lied. "You look like you've been doing some retail therapy."

"Well that's what happens when you're homeless and don't have anywhere to go," Quinn tried to act happy. "Actually it's the exact opposite of what you should do. I'm kind of running on fumes right now."

"Here, sit," Lindsey pointed to the side of the booth that she and Zach weren't sitting on. "What do you mean homeless?"

Quinn sat down across from them. "I confronted Cooper. I told him I knew all about his underage escapades and that I thought he was disgusting for influencing a kid like that especially one like Michael who wants nothing more than to have a family and someone to protect him."

"Good for you," Lindsey smiled happy to see the courageous Quinn back in action. "So what happened then?"

"He kicked me out. He told me that if I didn't believe him that I wasn't welcome in his home anymore. I called Claire and she let me sleep on her couch for two days, but I can't stay there. I'm going to have to find somewhere to live," Quinn revealed.

"We have an empty room," Lindsey offered. "Mercedes is completely moved out and living at Justin's now and no one is using her room."

"I don't want to impose," Quinn stated.

"Friends don't impose," Zach smiled. "I'm sure they wouldn't mind the help with the rent either."

"Tina!" Lindsey called out and waved her roommate over.

"What's going on, guys?" Tina grinned as she walked over.

"Quinn needs a place to stay. Please tell her that we'd love to have her move in to Mercedes' room," Lindsey instructed.

"Of course you can!" Tina sat down next to her old friend. "Mike will love having you there too, and the girls won't be outnumbered anymore. I get off at six. Mike and I could help you move your stuff."

"I doubt it's that simple," Quinn hated the idea of imposing.

"It's that simple," Lindsey mandated. "Zach and I are free tonight too. We'll help get you settled.

"I really don't know what to say," Quinn thanked them in her own way. "I really appreciate it."

Before anyone could say anything else, another voice entered the conversation. "Excuse me, you're Tina, right?"

Everyone turned to see the beautiful young man with the olive complexion standing next to her. "I'm Keahu. We met at a party a few weeks back and we talked on the phone this morning. Tyler gave me your number. I do have the right girl, don't I?"

"Of course," Tina smiled and stood giving the boy a hug. "It's great to formally meet you." She turned to the others. "I don't know if you know all my friends, but this is Quinn, Lindsey, and Zach. Guys, this is Keahu Kalani. He's part of our show and is Tyler, Artie, and Brody's new roommate."

"It's nice to meet you, Keahu. I read in the pilot script that you and I will get to spend a lot of time together," Quinn smiled.

"Why's that? Are you to dating in the show?" Zach wondered.

"No, we're dancing partners," Keahu answered. "I'm more of a dancer than a singer, but I know that they'll have me singing on the show too. When I met Mike he told me Tina was really great at helping him find his voice. I'm hoping she can do the same for me."

"Did you get my text about my song suggestion?" Tina asked and Keahu nodded in agreement. "Good. There's no time like the present to get started."

She took him by the hand and led him up to the stage. "The first thing you've got to do is just get your feet wet and do it." She motioned to one of the waiters to start the music and she and Keahu took the stage to sing.

(No Air by Jordin Sparks feat. Chris Brown – Glee Cast Version)

(Performed by Tina Cohen-Chang and Keahu Kalani)

TINA: If I should die before I wake, It's 'cause you took my breath away. Losing you is like living in a world with no air. Oh . . .

Tyler walked out of the kitchen with Lindsey and Zach's order when Keahu started to sing. He stood there mesmerized when the boy smiled at him.

KEAHU: I'm here alone, don't wanna leave. My heart won't move; it's incomplete. Wish there was a way that I can make you understand.

TINA: But how do you expect to live alone with just me 'cause my world revolves around you. It's so hard for me to breathe.

The other waiters, as well as their friends, helped them with the chorus.

Full Group: Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air. Can't live, can't breathe with no air. It's how I feel whenever you ain't there. It's no air, no air. Got me out here in the water so deep. Tell me how you gonna be without me. If you ain't here, I just can't breathe. No air, air (Tina: No!) No air, air (Keahu: No!) No air, air (Tina: No!). No air, air.

Tyler delivered the food to its table and Quinn pulled him down to sit next to her as they watched. For his part, Keahu seemed to enjoy taking the stage with Tina.

KEAHU: I walked, I ran, I jumped, I flew. Right off the ground to float to you. There's no gravity to hold me down for real.

TINA: But, somehow, I'm still alive inside. You took my breath, but I survived I don't know how, but I don't even care.

Tina/Keahu: So how (Tina: How) Do you expect me (Tina: Me) To live alone with just me (Tina: Oh) 'Cause my world revolves around you. It's so hard for me to breathe.

Artie and the other waiters began dancing around tables and singing as Tina and Keahu ad-libbed to the lyrics.

Chorus: Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air.

The Diner lit up in applause.

"So what do you think? Should we make this our collaboration for the show?" Tina wondered.

"I think it's a great idea," Keahu smiled as he looked over at the table of his new friends and their approving expressions.

Blaine and Sam continued walking towards the theatre. It didn't feel right talking about things so sexual in public so the subject went towards a lot of other things. It wasn't until they got to the theatre and in his dressing room that they knew they would return to the original topic. Sam took a seat on the couch and waited as Blaine spoke to the stage manager.

"Thanks so much," Blaine took the letter from the woman. "Listen, would you mind keeping anyone from disturbing my room before the show tonight. My friend and I need to discuss some things and I would really appreciate it."

"Not a problem. I'll post one of the interns outside your room and anyone that comes to your door he'll instruct them to come find me," the stage manager declared before walking away. Blaine locked the door after shutting it and then sat down next to Sam. "So it's my turn."

"It's your turn," Sam meekly smiled at him.

"I guess I should start with Nick and Jeff," Blaine began.

"What?" Sam's eyes opened wide. "When did that happen?"

"It happed several times," Blaine confessed. "They're my oldest friends, Sam, and it happened because they were trying to make me feel better."

"Did it work?" Sam inquired.

"Yeah it did. I was at the point where I didn't think anyone was on my side. I had convinced myself that because everyone knew you longer than me they would all take your side in our argument. Nick and Jeff made me see that people loved me as much and we may have done a sexual act to figure that out, but they gave me what I needed in that moment," Blaine confessed.

"Okay," Sam couldn't hide the fact that he didn't like it but Blaine had been so understanding with his explanations that he knew he needed to do the same. "Do you want to be with them again?"

"Not if I have you," Blaine confided. "Which I hope is still possible when I tell you about Mike and Paul."

"Paul is not your fault. He made you do it," Sam defended Blaine.

"No he didn't."

"What?" Sam stopped in his tracks. "Yes he did. He forced you and you shouldn't feel bad about it."

"He didn't force me, Sam. He figured out something about me that not even you know and used it to his advantage and I fell for it," Blaine was so embarrassed that he actually started shaking. He was about to reveal his darkest secret to Sam and it scared him that his reaction could be negative.

"What about you do I not know," Sam questioned. "I would think I know pretty much everything."

"There's one thing you don't, at least I haven't told you. We've had moments when I let myself go there with you but never completely," Blaine took a deep breath. "I only discovered it with Mike because he's very controlling and he let it loose. Paul just opened the door fully."

"You like to be controlled?" Sam guessed.

"It's more than that," Blaine replied. "I can't say it." Blaine felt humiliated. His blood pressure and pulse doubled. Finally, he said, "Sometimes during sex I want it to be loving and feel like the most important to who I'm with, but there are also times where I really get off on being treated like a sex toy."

Sam couldn't say anything. He had no idea what to say. He stood up and started pacing.

"Sam, could you at least say something," Blaine pleaded.

"I just need some time to process that," Sam admitted. He reached for Blaine's hand and pulled him into a hug. "Don't freak out. I just need to process that one and not let my emotions take over. I'm trying to do things like my doctor says. Do you understand?"

"Yeah," Blaine said softly.

Sam kissed him softly. "You get ready for your show. Have a great one. I'm going to go home and unpack. Meet me in my apartment tomorrow morning for breakfast, okay?"

Blaine agreed. Sam kissed him again and then walked out of the dressing room. He passed Max on the way out and said hello. Max saw the look on Sam's face and knew something had gone down. He walked into Blaine's dressing room and saw how freaked out he looked.

"Ohmygod, you told him," Max realized.

"I did and I may regret it forever," Blaine curled up into a ball on the sofa.

"I find that hard to believe, Nicky," Sebastian spoke on the phone in his room. Colton brushed his teeth in the bathroom and he tried not to eavesdrop but he couldn't help it. Sebastian had been on the phone with Nick Hall for almost half an hour and it didn't sound like the most amicable conversation. "Nick, I really don't have time for this. Why are you telling me this? Are you trying to see if I'll get jealous? You're the one that created this concept."

Colton listened as Sebastian obviously listened to Nick on the other end. "Well I'm glad he lets you fuck him. I hope your dick is very happy inside him," Sebastian spoke louder than he planned too. "Yeah, well at least he doesn't call me and try to make me feel guilty."

Colton knew at that point he didn't need to listen anymore. He walked to his room and pulled the script for the pilot out and went about memorizing his lines. About fifteen minutes later, Sebastian walked into his room, lay down on the bed and laid his head on Colton's lap.

"Do you want to talk about it or should I pretend like I didn't hear any of that conversation," Colton whispered as he ran his fingers through Sebastian's hair.

"I will talk about it but not until I calm down. Can I just lay here for awhile?" he asked.

"You can do anything you want to while you're down there," Colton winked at his love hoping to make him laugh a little. It worked. Sebastian smiled at him.

"Well that is one thing that always makes me smile," Sebastian stated. He started rubbing himself between his legs. "There's another that makes me happier.

"You have a fight with Nick and you still come here hard?" Colton shook his head snickering.

"Well I have this really hot guy that I live with and I found him sitting on his bed in the tightest boxerbriefs I've ever seen. You'd pop a boner too," Sebastian crawled up next to Colton and let his hand slip down the backside of his underwear.

"Well I'm sure we could arrange something," Colton purred as he put down the script and wrapped his leg over Sebastian's body and the two boys began making out. Sebastian slipped his hands into Colton's undies and Colton gyrated his hips to help his man pull his underwear off.

Sebastian looked up into Colton's eyes and watched him grin as he began to descend down his body with his lips. Colton unbuttoned his jeans and reached in to pull his manhood out.

There was a knock at the front door that didn't stop. It was constant.

"Whoever that is isn't going away, babe," Colton finally said before things went too far. "Go see who it is, get rid of them and then come back."

Sebastian screamed out in frustration. He got up and tried to button his jeans back but he couldn't because of the hard on. He yelled towards the door. "Whoever you are this better be fucking important!"

He slid the door open to find Sam standing there with a tear-streaked face. His eyes were downcast because he was embarrassed that he had been crying but that caused him to automatically see Sebastian's unopened pants.

"Oh shit, I interrupted something. I'm so sorry. I'll come back," Sam turned to leave, but Sebastian grabbed his arm and pulled him back to him and put his arm around him.

"Brothers never interrupt. Come in and tell me why you're so upset," Sebastian pulled him inside and slid the door shut.

"Did you get rid of whoever it was?" Colton walked out of his bedroom naked. His eyes bulged when he saw Sam staring at his nude form. "Oh shit!" he covered his dick and ran back into his room.

Sam turned to Sebastian. "I'm really sorry I stopped you from doing that."

"Colton will understand when he sees how upset you are. Now tell me what's going on. I know it has something to do with Blaine. Is he still keeping something from you?" Sebastian questioned.

"Oh, no he definitely told me everything. So much I'm not sure how I feel about it all," Sam prodded.

"Oh this sounds juicy. Now I definitely want to know," Sebastian's smirk let Sam know he was in a gossip mode.

"Seb, I need my best friend to confide in and know he's not going to go tell the world afterwards. If you can't do that I'll just go and let you get back to Colton."

"Don't be ridiculous," Colton walked back into the room wearing sweatpants and no shirt. "Sebastian and I both want to help anyway we can. Now tell us what happened."

Colton sat on the floor in front of the sofa where the other two boys were.

"I don't even k now how to say it," Sam realized. "Did you ever discover something about someone you love but its so surprising that you don't know how to react?"

Sebastian was about to say something but Colton surprised them both. "He told you his secret."

The other two boys turned and stared him down.

"You know about that?" Sam figured it out.

"Know about what? Does Blaine have some freak fantasy I don't know about it?" Sebastian asked and when both boys didn't answer a huge smile crossed his face. "Blaine has a freak fetish? I underestimated the boy. So what is it that loosens his bowtie?"

"He likes to . . . I mean he enjoys . . ." Sam tried to say it but he felt like he was giving away a huge secret about Blaine.

"He likes to be dominated sometimes and feel used by his partner," Colton explained to Sebastian while giving him a look that said he wouldn't get sex for a month if he made a joke about Blaine in front of Sam.

"Is that what you're worried about?" Sebastian took his cue from Colton and just did what he needed to do as a friend. "Sam, it's not that big of a surprise considering some of the things that even I know Blaine likes."

"But how can you do something like that with someone you love?" Sam stared out the window as he said it.

Something in Sam's eyes sparked a realization in Sebastian. He turned to Colton. "Would you mind if I talk to Sam alone for a minute?"

"Sure," Colton didn't know what was going on but he could see in Sebastian's eyes that this was something that needed to happen. "Sam, if there is anything I can do just let me know."

Sam didn't answer because he was in his own world. Sebastian watched Colton walk back to his room. He reached over and turned Sam's face back towards him so he could look in his eyes. "This isn't about Blaine. This is about you, isn't it?"

Sam didn't respond.

"It's about you and how my father treated you when you worked for him," Sebastian realized he was right when Sam shook his head slightly.

"How can I do to Blaine the things that he did to me? In my head there is nothing loving about that," Sam declared.

Sebastian took Sam's shoulders with his hands so he wouldn't turn around. "Do you still love Blaine?"

"Always."

"Then stop worrying. Stop trying to figure things out by yourself," Sebastian smiled to make him feel better. "Work this out with him and the two of you can talk about it. You don't have to be everything for him right away. You grow together. If that's what you want to do. That's what you've got to ask yourself."

"What the fuck?!" Stevie screamed out. He walked through his bathroom and into Michael's room, but what he saw was not expected. "Holy shit!"

He turned around as Michael and Nick put their underwear back on.

"Sorry for interrupting. I didn't know you had company," Stevie declared. He walked back through the bathroom and headed back to his room but then he stopped. He turned around and walked back into Michael's room. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought you wanted to get with Blake again now that he's single. Don't you think hooking up with Nick might stop that from happening?"

"What are you talking about? I'm still with Sebastian," Nick acted so casual about it. "Mikey and I just help each other out when needed."

"So you're fuck buddies?" Stevie said rolling his eyes. "Why did I think you'd be able to help me with this?"

"What happened?" Michael wondered slipping a t-shirt over his head.

"Bree just broke up with me through a text message," Stevie yelled. He was obviously ticked off. "She actually said that I was hurting her reputation and that she needed to date someone older that could help her rep."

"That's all she said?" Nick inquired.

"No she said that I should talk to her new boyfriend on Monday," Stevie threw his phone on his bed. "Why do girls just use me for social climbing? It would be nice if someone actually liked me for me."

"Stevie," Stacy ran into his room. She was surprised to see a shirtless Nick standing there unusually close to Michael. "Are you okay? What's going on? I just read Bree's new Facebook status."

"What does it say?" he questioned.

"It says she's dating the captain of the lacrosse team," Stacy revealed. "Did you two break up?"

"Evidently. I just wasn't a part of it," Stevie got up and headed out of his room. "I think I just want to be alone for awhile."

Stevie walked out of his room and headed to the door leading out to the backyard.

"Is he going to be okay?" Michael asked.

"Please, he's an Evans. We've dealt with way worse than bitchy exes," Stacy eyed both boys up and down reading them. "Don't worry about him. Something tells me you're going to have your own drama to deal with."

Stevie walked into the back yard and climbed up on the trampoline and lay down in the cold breeze looking up at the stars.

(Without Your Love by Joey McIntyre)

(Performed by Stevie Evans)

STEVIE: It happens all the time, all you girls are the same. I put my heart out on the line and you just walk away. What am I to do if I can't live with or without you? I'm all alone, confused. What am I to do? What am I to say? The things we used to do. I can't get over you without your love.

Feeling the cold on his skin he sits up and wraps his arms around his legs pulling them close to him. He begins shivering from the cold.

STEVIE: I guess I'll play the fool. I always play the fool . . . sad but true, I gotta learn to play the game. I've lost all my pride and shame. What am I to do if I can't live with or without you? I'm all alone, confused. What am I to do? What more can I say? The things we used to do I can't get over you without your love.

He jumped down from the trampoline and began walking around the side of the house and headed towards the street.

STEVIE: What am I to do if I can't live with or without you? I'm all alone confused what am I to do? What am I to say? The things we used to do I can't get over you without your love.

Stevie was down the road about a mile before he saw lights from a truck coming towards him. He shielded his eyes from the light and saw his arms shivering from the cold. The truck slowed down and stopped near him.

"What are you doing, Stevie? You've got to be freezing," Jacob called out. "Come on get in the truck."

Stevie ran around the side and opened the door.

"What are you thinking being out in this cold in a wifebeater and shorts. There's a cold front coming through tonight. It's supposed to snow," Jacob rebuked him and turned up the heat. "What's wrong with you?"

"Bree broke up with me using a text message. Plus she's already dating someone else," He said looking at his friend as Jacob pulled into his driveway across the street from the Evans' house.

"That explains it," Jacob realized. "I left Mia's house early because she got a phone call and told me I should go because she needed to do something that wouldn't be pretty. I heard her talking to Bree as I left. Knowing Mia she's taking care of that girl for you."

"I'm never dating another cheerleader ever again. All they do is hurt you," Stevie's head was lowered.

"They're not all bad. Mia's the best and my sister's not that bad. Neither is yours. Not that you would date any of them," Jacob thought about it at the end.

"Exactly the point," Stevie's thoughts became angered. "Maybe I should just play around and have fun. Lima girls are just bitches."

"Especially if you call them that," Jacob pushed Stevie as hard as he could making him hit the door of the truck hard.

"Ow! What did you do that for?" Stevie held the side of his head where he hit the window.

"Just doing what your brother would do if he were here," Jacob looked at him defiantly. "I don't know what in the hell has gotten into you lately, but when you started dating Bree you changed. You started cursing all the time and everything was about sex or perverted conversation. That's not you."

"Maybe it is," Stevie declared.

"No it's not. If it was you would have acted that way when we were in New York for Blaine's party and Mercedes' shower. But I got to hang out with the Stevie I actually know and I'm friends with. We had a good time," Jacob reminded him. "I take responsibility because I didn't take the time to point this out to you then, but maybe this is your chance to show us you again. To take your spot."

"What do you mean?" Stevie questioned.

"When Blake leaves it may look like Jake or me would be next in line, but neither of us want to be in charge of the Glee club. It's in your blood, Stevie. Your brother was the best at it and something tells me you will be too."

Stevie paused. "Are you serious? I wouldn't want to step on anyone's toes, but I do have a lot of ideas."

Jacob couldn't help but smile. "There he is."

"What do you mean?" Stevie seemed confused.

"There's my old friend not that kid full of bitchassness that's been walking around," Jacob explained.

"Have I really been that bad?" Stevie asked.

"If you want my personal opinion I think you were trying to impress Bree by being bad. You've experimented with a lot of things," Stevie's eyes darted open at Jacob's words. "People talk, Stevie, you should be ready for that. Don't worry about me. I think its fine to try things if you want, but not at the expense of forgetting who you are at the core. That's the most important. You can't forget that."

Stevie knew he was right.

"So what is the deal with you and Michael now?" Kitty asked Blake as he sat at her kitchen counter while she finished making them drinks. "I mean I get how you're like the long lost lovers or whatever, but I'm like the only person who just doesn't get it so I'm gonna need you to explain."

"That's not the easiest thing to do," Blake confirmed.

"Well do you want him to stay your best friend, be your fuck buddy, or do you want him as a boyfriend again?" Kitty laid it all out on the line for him.

"I don't need a fuck buddy. I'm not like that," Blake blushed.

"God, you're such a hopeless romantic," Kitty rolled her eyes but smiled at the same time.

"Well we can't all be girls that are in love with a friend's boyfriend so we're stuck watching him from afar," Blake called out Kitty and she punched him in the arm for good measure. "What? It's true isn't it? You ask me about my love life and I can ask you about yours?"

"At least mine isn't sleeping with someone ten years older than him," Kitty side eyed him as she finished her coffee.

"Mikey isn't doing that. He told me he isn't doing that anymore," Blake insisted.

"I beg to differ. Plus I talked to Quinn yesterday. She told me Cooper admitted that they slept together at Blaine's party. But you don't have to take my word for it or Michael's for that matter. Quinn ended her relationship with him because of what he said so I can't see her making it up. But if you don't believe me we can always call her."

Kitty turned her phone towards Blake with Quinn's contact information. Blake's face hardened with doubt. Finally, he nodded. Kitty dialed the number and then waited for the former Cheerio to pick up.

"Hey, Quinn, it's Kitty. There's someone here who needs to talk to you about Cooper and Michael."

"Who is she talking too?" Tina asked after Quinn walked into her new bedroom in the apartment.

"Kitty, so I can only imagine what that is about," Lindsey answered. The two girls stood in the apartment with their boyfriends.

There was a knock on the door. Everyone seemed surprised to find Sam standing there. "I was just walking by and saw the door open. I wanted to say hello. I haven't seen any of you since I got back to town this morning."

Tina and Lindsey both ran over to Sam and gave him a hug.

"It's really good to have you back. Did you enjoy your time back home?" Tina asked.

"I saw the videos you did. They look amazing!" Lindsey added.

"Thanks Lindsey, they were a lot of fun to do, and I really enjoyed it. It was so nice to just relax and recharge," Sam smiled.

"Have you talked to Blaine?" Tina asked with hope in her voice.

"We spent the afternoon together actually," Sam revealed.

"Good vibes?" Lindsey whispered.

"I really hope so. We pretty much told each other everything," Sam mentioned before turning his attention to Mike. "That's actually why I stopped by. Mike, I was wondering if you would mind coming up to my apartment with me. I really need to talk to you about something," Sam saw the tension in Mike's face. "I promise it's not bad. I just really need to talk to you."

"Yeah, sure," Mike agreed. He followed Sam up to his apartment and walked inside right behind him. "This is the first time I've been in here. It looks really nice."

"Thanks," Sam spoke. "Would you like something to drink or anything like that?"

"No, I'm good," Mike gave him a nervous smile. He sat in a chair and looked over at his old friend. "So we haven't talked since . . ."

"I know. That's why you're here," Sam acknowledged. "Blaine told me what you two did together, and he told me about discovering how much he likes to be in that kind of a situation."

"Oh," Mike was seriously blushing at this point. "So this is where you finally yell at me?"

"No, it's where you tell me how to do it," Sam proclaimed.

The next morning at McKinley, Michael saw Blake walking down the hallway with Kitty. He knew that the two of them had become close friends but he didn't see anything romantic between them. After all, in his head Blake belonged to him. He didn't see any difference in that future for any reason.

"Blake!" he called out before running up to catch up to him.

He watched as Kitty made direct eye contact with Blake before he heard her say to him, "I'll save you a seat in the choir room."

"Hey," Michael smiled as he caught up to his best friend. "I thought you were going to come over last night. Nick and I waited for you for a while."

"I got busy. I was talking to some of our friends in New York," Blake admitted.

"Planning another trip to the Big Apple to look at colleges again," Michael assumed.

"Not exactly," Blake spoke with no emotion in his voice. "It was more of a social call. I'd heard through the grapevine that two of our friends called it quits on their relationship so I wanted to see who it was."

"That's too bad. Who broke up?" Michael wondered.

"Cooper and Quinn," Blake stated while watching to see Michael's reaction. He saw a sense of realization, and what hurt even more, hope. "Cooper kicked her out like the total bastard that he is. Luckily, Tina and Lindsey stepped up and she living with them now."

"How do you know he didn't have a reason?" Michael questioned.

"Because he was the one that cheated. Quinn found out that Cooper cheated on her during Blaine's party," Blake gave another piece of the puzzle to see what his friend would do with it.

"Does she know who with?" Michael began to sweat.

"Yeah, she does," Blake's face hardened even more. "And she told me too."

"Blake, listen . . ." Michael started to defend himself.

"I don't want to listen," Blake yelled garnering them more attention than he wanted so he whispered the rest of his statement. "Why don't you just call your Daddy on the phone and let him make it better. That's what you want anyway."

Blake walked away from him and headed into the choir room. Michael stood in the middle of the hallway looking completely defeated. He thought about following him. Glee was their first period class, but knowing that Blake knew about his secret with Cooper made him feel hopeless, so instead, he walked towards the entrance to the school instead.

When Blake walked into the choir room, Kitty could tell by his expression what happened between the two boys. Blake faked a smile the few times that other members of his team said "hello" or "good morning" to him, but he headed directly for the empty seat next to the cheerleader and sat down.

"You okay?" she whispered as he crossed his arms in front of him. He just turned and gave her a snide look. "That good, huh?" She turned at the sight of Bree entering the choir room. "At least you're better than she will be today."

"What's wrong with her?" Blake inquired.

"She broke up with Stevie to date the captain of the lacrosse team," Kitty expressed. "She's walking into hostile territory, and trust me, having this group against you isn't the happiest place to be."

"Where's Stevie?" Blake suddenly forgot about his own problems as he thought about the kid and his promise to Sam to take care of him.

The bell to begin class rang and Mr. Schuester walked out of his office just like clockwork. On this particular occasion, he was followed out of his office by Stevie and Jacob both carrying their guitars.

"Guys, this morning before we get started working on our Christmas concert, Stevie has asked for a moment to speak to you this morning," Mr. Schuester opened class. "Stevie, the floor is yours."

He stood with his guitar around his neck and his right arm resting on it. "Thanks, Mr. Schue," he began. He looked around the room doing everything he could to avoid eye contact with Bree. "I wish this could be as simple as apologizing for being an ass the last couple of weeks. I am sorry for that, but I'm more sorry that I didn't even realize that I was letting someone be a bad influence on me and turn me into someone that I'm not. It took a friend reminding me," he turned to Jacob and smiled. "He reminded me that I'm a lot of things but being a disruptive little brat isn't me. It's who someone wanted me to be." He turned to Mr. Schuester. "I am sorry, Mr. Schue, if I caused any problems. It won't happen again, and if it does you can call Sam to come kick my ass."

"He's not the only sibling that could do that," Stacy winked at her brother as she snuggled into Sterling's side even more.

"Even so," Stevie tried not to laugh. "Jacob and I worked up something last night that I wanted to present to the class if that's okay."

"Let's hear it," Mr. Schuester agreed as he moved to sit in front of Bree who stared at Stevie with so much disdain that everyone in the room could feel the tension.

(Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus – Cover by Corey Gray and Jake Coco)

(Performed by Stevie Evans and Jacob Reed)

The boys began playing their guitars and the class all watched them wondering how they would use the song to get their point across.

STEVIE: We clawed, we chained, our hearts in vain we jumped, never asking why? We kissed, I fell under your spell, a love no one could deny.

Stevie/Jacob: And don't you ever say I just walked away. I will always want you. I can't live a lie, running for my life. I will always want you.

Everyone realized Stevie wasn't using the song to get back at Bree for dumping him, but letting everyone know how he felt about the action itself.

Stevie/Jacob: I came in like a wrecking ball. I never hit so hard in love. All I wanted was to break your walls. All you ever did was wreck me. Yeah, you, you wreck me.

In New York, Blaine fixed his bowtie while looking in the mirror. He walked out into the apartment, saying good morning to Sebastian and Colton who sat eating breakfast as he left heading up to see Sam and have breakfast with him.

JACOB: I put you high up in the sky and now, you're not coming down. It slowly turned, you let me burn and now, we're ashes on the ground.

Jacob/Stevie: And don't you ever say I just walked away. I will always want you, and I can't live a lie, running for my life I will always want you.

The focus returned to the choir room as Stevie and Jacob continued.

Jacob/Stevie: I came in like a wrecking ball. I never hit so hard in love. All I wanted was to break your walls all you ever did was wreck me.

Blaine walked up the stairs and could see the door to Sam's apartment come into view. He took a deep breath and walked towards it.

Stevie/Jacob: I came in like a wrecking ball. Yeah, I just closed my eyes and swung. Left me crashing in a blazing fall. All you ever did was wreck me. Yeah, you, you wreck me.

Blaine knocked on the door and when Sam opened it, the two boys just stared at each other lost in thought.

STEVIE: I never meant to start a war. I just wanted you to let me in, and instead of using force I guess I should've let you win.

Sam took Blaine's hand and walked him into his apartment.

Stevie/Jacob: I never meant to start a war. I just wanted you to let me in. I guess I should've let you win.

Sam noticed that Blaine was nervous which he found adorable. He pulled out one of the barstools for him and he sat down.

STEVIE: Don't you ever say I just walked away I will always want you.

Jacob and Stevie finished the song and finally Stevie stared Bree down letting her know exactly what he thought about her using him.

Jacob/Stevie: I came in like a wrecking ball. I never hit so hard in love. All I wanted was to break your walls all you ever did was wreck me. I came in like a wrecking ball. Yeah, I just closed my eyes and swung. Left me crashing in a blazing fall. All you ever did was wreck me. Yeah, you, you wreck me. Yeah, you, you wreck me.

The boys put their guitars down behind the band as their classmates applauded for them.

"You did good," Jacob whispered to Stevie before walking over to sit with Mia.

Stevie turned around to see that there were two open seats. One was next to Bree, the other next to Jake Puckerman. He opted for the latter trying to not even give his ex acknowledgement of her existence.

Sam handed Blaine a cup of coffee prepared the exact way he knew he liked it. Blaine took a sip, smiled that Sam remembered and then took in a deep breath accepting in the delicious smell in the room.

"You made pancakes," Blaine got excited.

"I did. Plus I made bacon, eggs, some toast. I wasn't sure what all you would want for breakfast," Sam admitted.

"I thought we were going to talk more than eat," Blaine joked.

"We will, but nothing wrong with me taking care of you at the same time. Every growing boy has to eat," Sam winked.

Both of the boys filled their plates with all the food they could want before sitting down and eating breakfast together. About ten minutes later the conversation switched back to the conversation from the previous day.

"So would I be correct in assuming that what I told you in my dressing room last night really freaked you out?" Blaine questioned.

"Not really freaked out," Sam noted. "I was surprised and it brought up some things in my mind that I hadn't thought of in a long time and really didn't want to again."

Blaine showed the confusion he felt in his expression making Sam want to explain. "My worry about it has nothing to do with you. It doesn't bother me that you like that," Sam paused and blushed. "In fact I couldn't stop thinking about you in all of those positions last night," he shook it off and his expression became serious. "But when I worked for Mr. Smythe he put me in some of those situations without my consent. That's why it's hard for me to see those things as pleasurable, but if you do then I want to learn how to do them for you. That's why I talked to Mike last night."

"You did what?" Blaine blushed instantly.

"You forget that I was actually on the other side of that wall. I heard the noises that you made and you were definitely enjoying yourself so I asked him to tell me what he did to make you feel that way. He gave me a tutorial of sorts," Sam declared.

"And he told you?" Blaine questioned.

"He did," Sam decided to be honest. "It sounds great but it may take me a while to get over my own memories."

"Sam . . ." Blaine was about to say more when Sam's phone rang.

"I'm sorry, it's Ella. I'll make it short," Sam imposed as he answered the phone. "Ella, I'm kind of busy right now can I . . ." he listened to her. "They did what? When did that happen? Can we stop it?"

Blaine listened to the conversation and could see that Sam seemed distressed. When he hung up the phone, Blaine immediately asked him what had happened.

"Evidently Tommy Hilfiger just Marky Mark'd me in Times Square. I'm on a billboard in red and white underwear for Christmas. She said she's also seen me on two Metro buses too."

"Did you not know about this campaign?" Blaine questioned.

"We did that shoot back in August. We did a few underwear shots but I didn't know that's what the plan was." His phone beeped and as he read the message his eyes bugged out of their sockets. "Oh my . . ."

"What is it?" Blaine asked with worry in his voice.

"Ella just sent me an email from Tommy thanking me for modeling for him the past two years and a picture of the check for this campaign as well as a bonus," Sam exclaimed. "I've never seen that much money in one place before," he showed Blaine the message.

Blaine's eyes bulged. "Sam, do you know what that kind of money means?"

"It means I have more money," Sam said matter-of-factly. It was something like this situation that reminded Blaine of how different Sam was from all the others. They would all immediately go out on a shopping spree. This beautiful blonde man standing in front of him wasn't phased by the fact that one check would make him a millionaire. The number of zeroes didn't cause any more of a reaction that what he just saw. Then when he thought he'd get no reaction, Sam started to speak up.

"I was just thinking . . . never mind. I'd be putting you in a really bad position asking you that," Sam stopped himself.

"Sam, what? Tell me what you were going to say," Blaine insisted.

Sam looked uncomfortable to Blaine. Sam very rarely asked for something that he wanted but this was something for himself and he didn't want to seem selfish. This, however, had to do with his relationship with Blaine and that was the most important thing to him. "It's just . . . Ella feels like the pilot getting picked up to network is a given. We film it, then we have Mercedes and Justin's wedding, and then it's Christmas. I'm going to start recording my next album in February and we may start filming if it gets picked up. It just made me think maybe, if you wanted to, I mean I have the money to take us anywhere you want to go in the world."

"Sammy, that sounds incredible," Blaine thought about how amazing it would be, but his second thought was about something else. "I don't think I could get that much time off from The Newsies though."

"I know," Sam shied away from the thought. "Like I said it was just an idea. I would just like to have time to spend with you that's just me and you, that's all."

"I'd like that too," Blaine realized.

"Have you thought about leaving? I mean Rachel did. Mercedes will. I've turned down a great role in a movie because I'm buying into this pilot totally," Sam suggested. "We could do it together."

"I've only been there for three months, Sam. It could be seen as disrespectful. I want to be on Broadway again in the future. I can't risk that," Blaine proclaimed.

"You're right, you're completely right," Sam agreed. "Forget I mentioned it. It was just an idea."

"Are you sure?" Blaine could tell that Sam was hiding the fact that he was hurt.

"Yeah, I mean we're young. We've got to protect our careers, right?" Sam promoted. "Speaking of which I need to go to the gym and get my abs back in shape because I have two shirtless scenes in the pilot I've got to be ready for. I'm meeting Sebastian in an hour. Do you want to go?"

"I'm meeting Max for a Broadway Kids lunch," Blaine remembered.

"Any chance we can see each other before we have the table read tomorrow?" Sam hoped.

"I hope so," Blaine stood from his seat and walked over to him. "I didn't say I didn't want to go away with you. You have to know that, Sam. I would go anywhere with you, but I can't leave my job. Not at this time, but someday."

Sam kissed Blaine sweetly and smiled.

"Whatever makes you happy, babe."

"Come to my show tonight? It will be my last one for three weeks while we film," Blaine requested.

"I can definitely do that," Sam kissed him again.

"I really appreciate the ride home, Jacob," Stevie spoke as they turned down their road.

"Hey, it's been a big day for you," Jacob joked before turning into Jacob's driveway. When he saw who sat on his porch. "Oh, this isn't going to be fun."

Stevie turned his head to see what he was talking about. He saw Bree sitting there. "Shouldn't she be at cheerleading practice with our sisters? Why is she here?"

"I don't know, but she doesn't look happy," Jacob declared. "Do you want me to hang out?" He waited for an answer but saw a different look on Stevie's face as he parked his truck.

"Didn't Nick tell us Michael came home sick today?"

"Yeah, why?" Jacob wasn't sure why the kid changed the subject so quickly.

"Then where is his car?" Stevie jumped out of the truck and walked quickly to the front door. Bree began yelling.

"Who the hell do you think you are, you little freshman? How dare you call me out like that in front of everyone!" she screamed at him but he completely ignored her, pulled out his key and walking into the house and went straight to Michael's room. "Oh now you think you're just going to ignore me. I can end you and your reputation. Do you know what kind of things I know?"

Stevie turned around and stared her down stopping her quickly in her tracks. "Go ahead. Everyone already knows you're a bitch. Add something else to that list. Give them something else to use to hate you. Now get the hell out of my house. I'm worried about someone I actually care about!"

She stood there in shock that Stevie would just dismiss her so quickly.

"I think you need to go, Bree," Jacob followed them inside. "Go back to cheer practice before you get in trouble with Sue. The two of you can talk this out later."

"Jacob!" Stevie yelled out from Michael's bedroom. "He's gone!"

"What do you mean?" Jacob ran back to see for himself. When he got there he saw that drawers were emptied, the closet was open and things were gone. His guitar was nowhere to be found.

"He left a note," Stevie couldn't hide the worry on his face. "It says he can't live with the lies he's told and that he wants to start a new life with someone who loves him." Stevie looked up. "What do we do?"

Jacob turned to Bree who was still standing there. She knew this was serious and her issues could wait. "Call Nick, tell him to get over here now. I'll call Blake. Stevie, call Mr. Schue. We need as many people to help find him as we can."

The next morning, the producers, director, and staff for the Fame pilot all waited for their cast to show up for the first table read. It would take place on the NYADA stage because the school had been chosen for the location of the fictitious school because it had everything they needed.

Tina and Mike were the first ones to show up.

"I thought I recognized those names on the list."

The Asians turned around at the familiar voice. When they saw April Rhodes standing there they were both surprised.

"What are you doing here?" Tina asked. "It's really good to see you."

"I'm playing one of your professors. I'm the nice one," April cooed. "That bitchy blonde over there named Cassandra is another one. Oh and this one hottie I wouldn't mind getting my hands on is the dance instructor."

"Yeah, Brody, he's a friend of ours. He looks like he really wants to get away from that Cassandra lady," Mike pointed out.

"Who wouldn't," April cackled. "I am just so excited to get to work with all you kids. I think we have something special going on here. Just like you had going on at McKinley."

"Let's hope so," Tina agreed.

"Why don't we find our seats," Mike suggested.

(Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson – Glee Cast Version)

(Performed by the Cast of FAME)

As Mike, Tina, April, Brody, and Cassandra, all found their seats they began singing.

Group: Dad a dad a dad a, da da da da da . . . . . .

Rachel walked in with Colton and Sebastian.

RACHEL: Grew up in a small town, and when the rain would fall down. I'd just stare out my window.

SEBASTIAN: Dreamin' of what could be, and if I'd end up happy. I would pray.

COLTON: Trying hard to reach out, but when I tried to speak out. Felt like no one could hear me.

Colton/Rachel: Wanted to belong here.

RACHEL: But something felt so wrong here. So I prayed

Seb/Rach/Colt: I could breakaway.

As they continued, in Lima, Mr. Schuester had Blake and Nick in his car when they found Michael's at the train station parked on the side of the road.

ALL: I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly. I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky.

BRODY: And I'll make a wish, make a wish. Take a chance, take a chance, make a change, make a change

ALL: And breakaway.

They all turned when they saw Lucy walk in with Keahu.

Lucy/Keahu: Out of the darkness and into the sun, but I won't forget all the ones that I love.

LUCY: Gotta take a risk

KEAHU: Take a risk

LUCY: Take a chance

KEAHU: Take a chance

LUCY: Make a change

KEAHU: Make a change

All: And breakaway.

The boys watched as Mr. Schue showed the woman working at the ticket counter Michael's picture. Both boys worried where he could have gone.

At NYADA, Blaine walked in with Max.

BLAINE: Wanna feel the warm breeze, sleep under a palm tree. Feel the rush of the ocean.

MAX: Get on board a fast train, travel on a jetplane far away and

ALL: Breakaway.

Michael sat staring out of the window of the Amtrak train wondering if he'd made the right decision.

ALL: I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly. I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky.

Mercedes walked into the situation and joined in immediately.

MERCEDES: And I'll make a wish, take a chance , make a change and breakaway.

Quinn and Claire entered together.

Quinn/Claire: Out of the darkness and into the sun, but I won't forget all the ones that I love. Gotta take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway.

The side doors opened up letting in the light from the lobby as illuminating Sam and Santana walking in.

SAMTANA: Building with a hundred floors, swinging round revolving doors. Maybe I don't know where they'll take me, but gotta keep moving on, moving on, fly away, breakaway!

The entire group sand as Michael watched the train go underground and fall into darkness.

ALL: I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly. Though it's not easy to tell you goodbye. Gotta take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway.

The group sat around the table singing to the amazement of the crew.

ALL: Out of the darkness and into the sun, but I won't forget the place I come from. I gotta take a risk, take a chance and make a change and breakaway.

As the song ended, Michael stood in the middle of Grand Central Station turning around completely overwhelmed with the enormity of this new environment. He saw the exit and strapped his guitar bag to his back and picked up his two suitcases before taking and deep breath, walking up to street level and then getting lost in the crowd of people.
