People the time has come for the final chapter in the Unova region for Ash and the gang. We are going to get into the serious stuff now and we will now find out what becomes of everyone before this event. Let's get to it
Chapter 36: Ways of life
Yesterday was one for the history books in the Unova region. A castle surrounded the Pokémon league tower and the team Plasma threatened to change the world with N at the helm of it. But thanks to Ash, his Pokémon, the legendary Zekrom and their allies, they put an end to the plan and with the arrest of the seven sages including Ghetsis. Also the fact that N has now left the Unova region with Reshiram, It has brought Team Plasma to disband and all members go their separate ways.
N realised Ghetsis manipulated him into following his plan from the beginning and only truly heard his side of Humans, but now he needs to formulate an opinion of his own now. The Castle of Team Plasma disappeared as quickly as it arrived by sinking back into the ground of the Pokémon league tower. Never to be seen again.
Far away at the other side of Unova, rested the team that brought Team Plasma down. Ash was resting in a room, getting comfy in a bed was one of his specialties after eating a lot last night. Pikachu and Snivy were resting on a bed of their own snuggled up together. Latias was sleeping right next to Ash's bed for reasons obvious to Ash. There were back at Professor Junipers Laboratory. They were brought back and spent the night in Pokémon lab.
To Juniper it was the least she could do for them. After all they did save the Unova region. But to Ash it was all he would ask for. Ash was stirring from his sleep. He had slept like a log, out and snoring. Usually his Pokémon would rely on Pikachu for the wake-up alarm, but today it seems it wasn't necessary.
Ash slowly stirred and sat himself up slowly as he spread his arms and made a massive Yawn. He sighed in relief and he looked out the window and smiled. As he saw a nice beautiful blue sky, Ash made a thought "Now that we finished what happened yesterday we can have more time to enjoy ourselves now. Thanks to everyone". Ash stopped and looked to the edge of his bed where a belt was stacked on the small desk. He looked to see the black ball on it and nodded "Right Zekrom. I better deal with him now before we make any plans".
Ash stood up off the bed and squatted down to Latias who was asleep on a big pillow. He knelt down a little and placed his hand on the back of her neck. He then stroked it a little in a comforting way. Ash saw Latias break out a little smile in her sleep and she sighed. Ash smiled and thought "Enjoy your rest Latias, you deserve it". Ash then stood up and looked to the desk, h walked over to it and picked up his belt and put his blue fleece on but he left his hat off. He walked over to the door and opened it up.
He took one last look to his Pokémon and smiled to them before he exited the room. He closed the door behind him but he didn't shut it quietly so it stirred Latias from her sleep a little. She yawned a little and opened her eyes slowly. Once she got a bearing of her surroundings she looked around and saw Ash was no longer in his bed "He must have went outside. She floated up and went over to the door.
Ash opened the door to the back door of the lab leading to a field and he walked out of the lab. He walked down the walkway until he arrived in the field. He looked up to the sky to see the sun out and shining bright with a blue sky all around with no clouds in visual. Ash smiled and thought to himself "N said to me "Make my dream come true, to become a Pokémon master, How far away am I truly to it. It is the highest of the high. Even higher than being a Pokémon champion but…"
Ash looked down as he had a thought so in order for my dream to become a reality. I have to become the strongest, bring all my Pokémon to their prime". Ash had another thought to himself "That may take a long time to be able to do. My Pokémon are strong now but we were barely able to stop N from making his biggest mistake, who could be stronger. That settles it".
Ash came to the realisation as he said out loud "From now on, all my Pokémon, not just the ones with me, we will all train, learn everything in the book, every strategy and tactic we can use. Many different moves and dodge techniques". Ash smiled as he begun to have big plans ahead of him until he heard a voice "I see someone is thinking out loud". Ash looked behind him to see Latias approaching.
Ash smiled to her "Morning, I thought you would still be asleep". Latias shook her head as she came to Ash's side and said "I didn't really feel tired so I thought I would go outside for a bit and here I find you. So what are you doing here?" Ash looked down and grabbed the black ball off the belt and held it up. Latias now understanding said to him "So what are you going to do with him".
Ash nodded to her "The only one thing I can do". Ash then held it up above him. Suddenly electric energy came flickering out of the ball and went towards a patch of grass in front of them. It suddenly poured out until a show of energy formed together which generated the form of Zekrom. Zekrom stood tall as he looked down at Ash "What is it Ash".
Ash smiled happily to him "Zekrom, I can't thank you enough for your help against team Plasma, if it wasn't for you the outcome of yesterday would surely have been a lot different". Zekrom nodded to him "It was my duty to fulfil your ideal, and you accomplished it, your ideal has been achieved. Which was safeguard the world against the hero of truth and the dragon of Truth".
Ash nodded to him and said "Zekrom, Your duty is complete, I want to release you now, and let your return to your life". Zekrom said one thing to Ash "Are you certain, Hero of Ideal". Ash nodded to him "Yes, you have been a great help, now I believe you should return to your life of freedom above the skies of Unova".
Zekrom nodded to him "As you wish". Energy flickered over the black ball and then it disabled. Ash held it forward wanting to give it to Zekrom but Zekrom held his claw up "Keep it Ash". Ash and Latias were confused at first until they heard him answer "Let it be a reminder of the friendship we have formed. You are a true hero Ash Ketchum". Ash smiled to him "Thank you Zekrom, I will treasure this black ball".
Zekrom nodded and begun to turn around but looked to him "Should you ever need my help in the future don't hesitate to use the black ball to summon me. I hope you achieve your greatest Dream Ash, and we can meet again after that". Ash nodded as he held a fist up "It's a promise Zekrom". Zekrom looked away and his tail begun to sound off and light up in blue energy "May your strength guide your ideals, Farewell". Zekrom tail fully sounded off and Zekrom lifted into the air. Ash and Latias watched as Zekrom went flying up into the sky both saying "Goodbye Zekrom, take care". Zekrom then went flying off into the distance until he eventually disappeared off in the distance.
Ash and Latias looked on until the dragon was fully out of vision. Ash turned to Latias and said "Well now it is time for us to go home Latias". Latias looked to him "Back to Pallet town in Kanto". Ash nodded and turned to her "Yeah we have a lot of our friends and family waiting for all of us". Latias nodded "Yeah, your mom, Professor Oak, Tracey, all the Pokémon".
Ash nodded and looked back to the lab "I have missed them all". Latias leaned against Ash's side "You would Ash, because you are caring and the best trainer in the world". Ash smiled to her "Just that?" Latias gave him a wink as well "And a very handsome one as well". Ash sighed "If you are trying to make me blush, you are going to have to try a lot harder to succeed".
Latias turned and placed her claws against him "Oh really now". She then pressed her lips against Ash's. Ash then relaxed and enjoyed it. Part of him still did feel strange being with a Pokémon but he was used to the idea now, and the fact he is half-Pokémon pretty much sealed the deal for the pair. They separated and Ash said "Let's go get Pikachu and Snivy. Then let Professor Juniper know".
Latias then walked with Ash back towards the lab "So are we taking a plane back". Ash shook his head "No I am thinking about putting my wings to use this time. I don't get to use them too often so now is the chance". Latias grinned "Fly home in your Latios form. We could get lost". Ash smirked and took out the pokedex "That's where the pokedex comes into use, if we get lot it can guide us back".
Latias nodded "Okay It could work then". Ash made a quick decision though "But I want to send everyone back to the Lab in Kanto except for you and Pikachu". Latias was curious and asked "Why is that Ash". Ash looked down "Because I don't want an accident where we could lose one of them during the flights or if I drop a poke ball when on the ground. Pikachu however, I am confident he can handle it though".
Latias nodded "Yeah it is best not to take any risks". Ash made it to the door and opened it for her "After you". Latias nodded and gave him a smile "Thank you Ash". Latias entered the building and Ash closed the door behind them. He saw Professor Juniper in front of him and she said "Ah Ash, I was looking for you". Ash was curious "Really what is it?" Professor Juniper replied to him "Alder is here to see you".
Ash and Latias looked to each other curiously and eagerly followed Professor Juniper through to the main lobby where Ash saw Alder and Trip in the middle of the lobby. Ash smiled and walked up to them as Alder said "Ash, good to see you, how are you feeling, son". Ash smiled to him "I feel great now, recovered fully and free at last. Now in a bit of a relaxing mood for now".
Trip made a comment to that "Well after everything that happened, being lazy for a bit isn't bad". Ash made a grin at Trip while Alder said "Well, just to let you know, Ghetsis and the seven sages are now arrested and in Police custody. But N has disappeared from Unova". Ash smiled "N has left with Reshiram, to see the world and find a true opinion between humans and Pokémon then what Ghetsis told him and to find peace of his own". Alder looked up and smiled "Well I do hope he finds the answers he is looking for now".
Alder then looked down to Ash "Now Ash, I never did properly thank you for stopping Team Plasma, you achieved what I failed to". Ash shook his head "We were only able to defeat Reshiram thanks to Zekrom's help". Alder remembered something and spoke up to Ash "Ah, so what has become of Zekrom now then".
Ash looked to Latias and smiled "Well you just missed it, I went outside and released him back to the world. As I feel it was the only thing to do". Alder was surprised but nodded "I see, well I believe Zekrom deserves it, he helped us a great deal". Trip then spoke up to Ash "So what are you going to do now". Alder interrupted "Challenge the Pokémon league no doubt".
Ash was curious at what Alder said "I'm sorry". Alder placed a hand on Ash's shoulder "As a way of saying thank you. I want you to challenge the elite four and me. I believe you are capable of it". Trip agreed "While I don't want to admit it, Alder is right, you are a powerful trainer". Ash was extremely tempted by the offer and really wanted to but he looked to Latias who nodded with a smile to him.
"I going to pass on the offer". Alder and Trip was surprised "Ash now is not the time to be a bonnie". Ash looked to him "I am passing because, I don't live in this region. If I am going to battle any champion with everything I got, I want it to be the Pokémon league in the Kanto region". Alder now understanding nodded "I see now. You want to battle Lance don't you"?
Trip was confused "Who is Lance". Ash looked to him and answered his question "Lance is the champion of the Kanto and Johto region. Two regions because they are connected together and share one elite four and champion". Alder then put his hand on Ash's shoulder again "Well I wish you the best of luck in your endeavour". Ash shook his head and calmly said "I'm not going to you, I need to train with my Pokémon more first and win the Indigo League in Kanto".
Trip quickly said "They have a Pokémon league in the Kanto region". Ash smiled to Trip and said "Yeah there is one in every region. I believe the Indigo league started 2 days ago if I remember correct. I has planned to go to I this year but not this time though". Alder was about to speak until Ash continued "But Now I am going to train my Pokémon ready for the next one in a year".
Alder nodded to him and Ash looked to Professor Juniper "Professor, Can you send some of my Pokémon to Professor Oak". Juniper nodded to him "Of course who would you like me to send". Ash looked behind him to see Pikachu and Snivy right on cue running down to stairs. Ash smiled and squatted down as they stood in front of him "Pikachu, Snivy. It is time for us to return to Kanto".
Pikachu smiled "Alright, I have been waiting to go home". Snivy agreed with him "Yeah, I bet the gang is missing us". Ash then broke the news to them "But we are flying back". Pikachu was caught by surprise by this "Really, that is cool. Finally going to put those wings to some real use". Ash nodded to him but looked down "But I am sending everyone back to Oak first because I don't want any accidents to happen to the poke balls or you two. So Snivy can you go back with Charizard, Lucario and Garchomp. I just want to make sure nothing happens badly".
Snivy was disappointed and looked down a little as Pikachu said "Snivy?" Snivy smiled and looked to him "No it is okay I understand, If believe it is what is necessary I am okay with it". Ash smiled to her "Thank you Snivy, besides I need someone to make sure everyone is behaving". Snivy sighed "But who is going to make sure Pikachu behaves himself".
Pikachu teased at her "Ha, very funny". Snivy smiled seductively to him and nuzzled his side "Don't worry Pikachu, I will be waiting for you when you get back". She then turned to him and wrapped her arms around him "Make sure you don't keep me waiting long otherwise you will be in big trouble".
Pikachu smiled to her "I'll try my best my beautiful Snivy". The two small Pokémon shared a kiss with each other. Ash shook his head at the predicament of the two. Once the separated from each other Snivy stepped back and said "I will see you all shortly then in Kanto, have a safe trip back, and be sure to tell me about it". Ash nodded as he returned her to her Poke ball". He then took the other three poke balls and handed them over to Juniper "Send these four back please".
Juniper nodded and took them over to her desk as Ash looked to Latias and Pikachu "Well we better get ready to go, I am pretty sure everyone at the lab is waiting for us" Latias nodded while Pikachu excitedly said "Yeah let's go home". Ash nodded and went over to a table and grabbed his bag where he had left it for the night. He checked the contents first and then placed it on his back. He also grabbed his hat first as well and flipped it on.
Ash then looked to Alder, Professor Juniper and Trip. Before he could say anything Professor Juniper said "Do you need a lift to the Pier"? Ash shook his head "No, I can't change form in a place with people, can't let them see". Juniper shook her head "Yes the main part of the piers are busy but there is a part that is not being used today, you can head out there". Ash thought about it and nodded to her "Alright then, I guess we could". Everyone begun heading for the entrance and exited the lab.
A few minutes later everyone had arrived at the quiet part of the pier. Latias and Pikachu were walking with him but he looked behind him to see everyone else. "You two go on ahead I will catch up". Pikachu nodded and Latias floated next to them "Hop on Pikachu". Pikachu happily jumped over and with Pikachu on her back. Latias took off and flew off the pier and flew around for a second with Pikachu before waiting for Ash.
Ash walked to the edge of the pier and stopped. He looked to Professor Juniper, Alder and Trip and he said "Well I guess this is goodbye for now". Alder nodded to him and said "Good luck with all your endeavours and one last time, thank you for all you have done for us". Ash nodded and Juniper said "As soon as I get back to the lab, I will send your Pokémon. A way of saying thank you while it is barely enough".
Ash shook his head "No need Professor Juniper. That is plenty". Ash looked to Trip who nodded to him and Ash nodded back. He prepared to turn around before he heard Trip say "Ash, next time we meet, let's battle again". Ash smiled and said "In that case I will see you one year from now in the Indigo league in Kanto". Trip was confused and said "Go to Kanto". Ash nodded "Yeah, travel to lots of different regions, they all have different Pokémon and people. You should try it".
Ash turned around and smiled up to Latias and Pikachu who were patiently waiting for him to join them. Finally Ash enveloped himself in energy and morphed into his Latios form. He floated up and Ash said "Goodbye everyone, see you all soon". As Ash prepared to leave, Alder said one more thing "Farewell Ash, and may your courage and determination guide you and your Pokémon towards your goals". Ash made a nod until he finally flew off from the pier towards the two Pokémon waiting. The three humans smiled and watched him as Ash joined up with Latias and Pikachu.
The trio then turned away from the shore and flew off away from the Pier, leaving Unova slowly and beginning their journey back to the Kanto region. Ash flew on first followed by Latias. He looked behind them as they increased their speed and Unova was becoming further and further away from them. Ash smiled and thought "The end of one chapter begins another".
Latias flew in front of Ash and said "Ash follow me down to the water". She begun gliding towards the ocean. Ash smiled and followed her down. She surfaced herself just above the water and Ash did the same. Ash looked down at his reflection shining brightly with the sun. Latias put her claw down where it was tapping against the water. Pikachu saw this and was in awe about it. Ash smiled happily about this as they continued to increase their speed of flight. "This is going to be a fun journey home".
Well that's it now everyone, our time in Unova has come to an end. But there is plenty of story left yet. Now our heroes are on their way back to Kanto. Poll update: Still tieing here and there. The polls deadline is approaching now. The Poll will close when Chapter 38 is uploaded, so if you want to vote, you are beginning to run out of time so advise doing it now if you want to.
Now I am sure some people want to know why I had Ash release Zekrom. Here is my explanation of my decision.
Well it doesn't feel right for Ash to keep that Pokémon, As Zekrom has a sort of role in the world and he must carry it on. And well If Ash kept him it would be extreme over-power there and I am sure you could all agree with me there. Besides Ash has another legendary to have on the team soon. So let's look forward to that.
