Hey! I'm back from Arizona! Sorry it's been so long I wish I could have updated. This story is coming to a close. I predict 7 or 8 more chapters. I really sad but I feel that its time to end it. I love you all! You are truly amazing!

Onto the story!

Luke Garroway is attacking the castle. Well, not him personally but his army and troops which means that Jonathan's troops have been destroyed. I don't know wether to feel joyous or scared. They could come into the room any minute now and kill me, but I'm not scared of them. A smile lights up my face as I rush back to the window. The climbers have surpassed my expectations. Many of them are only a few feet from the height of my window, more than any average person could normally achieve.

My eyes skirt around the room in search for something to help them through or climb faster. There's nothing though, no rope or pole or anything. I curse under my breath and go back to the window. I look down and the man below my window is only an arms length away. His head snaps up and we lock eyes. The man bares his fangs and looks about ready to attack me but I hold up my hands in surrender. "Please, I want to help you," I say with a tinge of excitement in my voice. He looks at me with weary eyes but extends his hand towards my now open palm. He grasps onto it tight and I use all my strength to help him through. He stumbles through the window but quickly catches his balance. His eyes dash around the room and land on me. The next thing I know my back is pressed against the wall and my feet are dangling about a foot from the ground. I scratch at his hands trying to get him to loosen his grip on my throat but to no avail. "Please," I rasp out. "I...want to...hel-," his grip tightens cutting my sentence off.

"You can let her go, Raphael," a voice says from behind the man. The mans grip loosens enough for me to fall to the ground gasping for breath. As I try to regain my composure I hear heavy footsteps coming towards me. I look up and come face to face with none other than the Luke Garroway. "What's your name?" He asks folding his hands in front of him. He looks kind but I see something stirring behind his blue eyes.

"Clary," I croak.

"Ah, now tell me Clary, where is Jonathan Morgenstern?" he asks in a voice so horribly sweet sounding yet bone chilling at the same time.

"He's..." I'm just about to tell him, just about to give him the information that will end this war, but somethings stopping me.

"Yes?" He tilts his head to the side with mock curiousness.

I want to tell him! Why can't I tell him where he is? It would end this damn war, yet my mind keeps telling me no. Its telling me to not trust them to run while I can. But I don't want to listen to my mind, I want to do whats right which is to tell Luke the truth. To tell him that Jonathan's sitting in a hospital bed right down the hall. To tell him that he is weak and can be taken out within seconds. But I don't, the only thing that passes my lips are the words, "I don't know."

Luke's eyes narrow and seem to be searching my face for something. A fire burns in his eyes. A fire that has the power to save the world or completely destroy it. But I have the feeling he's not hell bent on saving it, rather than destroying it. The fire is strong, relentless and it will consume the world if not disposed of but nobody is powerful enough to stop him. Except Jonathan. "Your lying to me," Luke says with a barely contained rage.

I shake my head and lie again, "I'm not. Jonathan hasn't been here for weeks."

He lets out a humorless laugh and looks at me with amusement. "You really think I'm that stupid? Your are sadly mistaken. Raphael, make sure the others have made it in and search for him. If anyone tries to stop you...kill them," he stares at me with his blue eyes, sending chills through my body.

Raphael nods and exits the room. "Now Clary, why are you lying to me? Do you not want this war to end? Do want it to go on everyday for the rest of your life? Do you want to see millions of people die everyday just because you helped to save Morgenstern?" He asks in a threatening tone. I shake my head, my eyes wide in not fear but amazement. I always assumed that Luke Garroway would be a kind man, and based on the stories I've heard about him, everybody else did too. "That's what I thought. I'll ask you one more time. Where is Jonathan Morgenstern?" Yet, the words still don't come. I sit there frozen to the spot with my mouth sealed tight. He lets out a frustrated growl. His arm shoot out and grabs the collar of my shirt before I can stop him. He lifts me off the ground and slams me into the wall. "Tell me where he is!" His resolve has finally broken. Fear floods through my body and I squirm trying to loosen his grip but it won't.

"I don't know. I don't know where he is," I say with a mix of fear and desperation in my voice.

"Liar," he yells. He flings me across the room and I hit the coffee table. I let out a groan and try to stand but Luke has me in his grip again. "This can go two ways. You tell me and I'll let you go, never to be disturbed again or things won't go so well for you," he threatens.

"I'm not afraid of you," I lie.

He lets out a sharp laugh and says, "I'm a werewolf if you have forgotten. I can tear you apart in seconds. You might as well tell me the truth because I can smell the fear and lies emanating off your body." Hysterical laughters bubbles up through me and out my mouth. Luke looks surprised by my outburst but quickly covers it up with a sneer.

"How did you even find this place?" I ask through laughter. I've change the subject to stall. If I can stall guards are sure to come in here sooner or later. They can end this madness here and now. It may also be the difference between life and death for me. It may not be much but it's something and somethings all I got.

"That doesn't matter at the moment. If you don-"

I cut him off before he can say anything else, "seriously though? How? This place is nearly impossible to find unless somebody who knows the way shows you, but you don't have anybody like that. So, how'd you do it?"

Luke is looking quite startled by my new found craziness, if thats what you can call it. I bet nobody has ever challenged him, lied to him, or denied him of anything, and here I am doing all three and I'm just a small girl.

"There's a mole here isn't there? Oh, Jonathans going to be so pissed," I chuckle.

He seems to realize my plan and his eyes harden once more. "Stop this stupid idea of yours. Stalling will not help you. Too many of my people have entered the castle with the drive to kill, and I assure you everybody will be dead before you can scream for help."

I let a small smile grace my lips before screaming at the top of my lungs, "Help!" At first it's silent and my hope starts to fade but after a minute I hear the pounding of footsteps coming down the hall. I look up at Luke who is looking at the door. A smirk is on my lips as I say, "I don't think the dead can run, do you?"

He looks down astonished and then back at the door just in time to see my savior enter. I keep my eyes on him expecting to see defeat or anger in his eyes. His emotion is not as I expected though. He looks relieved and a bit amused. "You silly girl, nobody can help. I have won."

My heart drops. The person running to 'help' is with Luke. I peer up at the doorway to see the person who gave me false hope. My eyes meet with the golden irises I've been dreaming of for months. Jace. My heart drops into my stomach and I can't breathe. He's alive and he's here! "Jace," I rasp out.

So...Luke's sorta crazy. AND JACE IS FINALLY BACK! Sort of a cliffhanger not really, but oh well. I hope you guys liked it!

Tell me what you thought!
