"You can find them?" Hook pestered as I led him through the woods. I spun around, causing him to nearly run into me, before I frowned up at him in irritation.
"First off, calm down." I snapped flatly. "You're acting like you've just had a galleon of rum."
"I'm worried about Swan!" He defended, making my annoyance recede somewhat.
"I know where we're going, Hook." On cue, the sound of an outraged shriek echoed around us and I smirked widely. "Told ya so."
I turned back the direction we'd gone and we quickly came upon Snow in a net and Charming demanding hsi ring back.
"Then, why don't I believe you?" Charming asked flatly just as we emerged from the treeline.
"Oh, you should." I scolded mildly, smirking when Charming whirled around. "She's telling the truth." I curtseyed while Hook bowed mockingly.
"Prince Charles." He offered. " Lovely ball the other night. The mutton was a tad overcooked, but that happens." The smile slid off Hook's face. "Snow White doesn't have your ring. But I can tell you who does. My princess. And I need your help to get her back."
"She has my ring? That's two women who robbed me." Charming sighed. "Where is she?"
"Well, that's the problem." I pointed out flatly, watching as realization dawned on Charming's face. "The Queen's castle."
"Y-you're the Dark Lilith." Charming breathed out, only for Snow to cut him off with a bored voice.
"Actually, that's not a problem at all. I know it well. It used to be mine." She said before pinning Charming with a glare. "I can get us in there, but not from up here. So you let me down," she glanced at Hook. "You get your princess," she turned her attention back to Charming. "You get your ring and I never have to see your charming face again."
With little preamble, Charming swiftly cut her down, making me roll my eyes at how he simply let her fall with a shriek.
"Apologies, lass." Hook offered when he caught sight of Snow's discomfort as we traveled in the cart. I rolled my eyes when Charming chuckled, making Snow pin him with a fierce glare.
"You're really enjoying this, aren't you, Charming?"
"It's not my fault your face is plastered on every tree in the forest." He leaned closer to her. "What's that around your neck? I thought you were not the jewelry type?"
She ignored his mocking and edged away from him. "Don't worry about it." Undeterred, Charming grabbed at her necklace. "No. Careful." She warned, gripping his wrist as he turned the small vial around with his fingers. "That's a weapon."
"Dust?" Charming asked, eyeing it warily.
I moved closer, raising an eyebrow at what was in the small vial. "Fairy dust?" I asked, earning a nod from Snow. "From a dark fairy, I'd guess."
She nodded again. "It transforms the most fearsome adversaries into a form that's easily squashed. I'm saving it for a special someone."
"The Queen?" Charming asked flatly.
"Those charges on her posters are lies." Snow defended, bristling angrily. "Didn't stop her from trying to kill me. That's why I'm trying to get out of this kingdom. That's why I tried to steal from you." She explained. "To secure passage on a pirate ship."
"What did you do to incur the Queens wrath?"
Snow frowned and looked away. "She blames me for ruining her life."
"Did you?" Charming asked quietly.
"Yes."
"We're here." Hook called from the driver's seat and I peered around the cart to see Regina's castle in the distance. I turned when I felt Snow shifting beside me and turned my attention back to the castle.
"We're gonna need help to get past the guards." She frowned thoughtfully before she pushed herself to her feet with a grunt. "Wait here. We go at night." She jumped out of the cart and, without a second thought, I quickly followed her. "I'll be back with help."
"I'll go with you." I said, quickly rushing to her side and she nodded once, smiling faintly.
"I suppose I can't stop you, hmm?" I shook my head, smirking at her before we began to jog away from the cart and she chuckled. "Well, I guess magic will come in handy."
We quickly found Red, though she didn't recognize me at all, except from the pictures she'd seen of the Dark Lillith. With Red on her way to Charming and Hook, we headed for the castle ourselves.
"How did the apprentice of the Dark One get involved with royalty?" Snow asked suddenly as we walked, making me stumble once.
"Let's just say...it's a family thing." I offered softly, earning an odd look from the woman that was the grandmother of my adopted nephew and Step-great-grandson. After leaving Snow to go on her own, I quickly found Charming and Hook, along with a now transformed Red. We managed to sneak into the dungeons, allowing Red to distract the lone guard before Charming knocked him out.
"I'm glad the wolf's on our side." Hook carefully stepped around said wolf as I placed a hand on her head, gently patting it in thanks. The wolf looked up at me before Hook tossed the cloak over it.
"She's a fearsome one." Charming agreed as Red, now human, stood up and tied the cloak around her shoulders. Charming sheathed his sword, looking around warily. "Better hurry. When he awakes, they'll be onto us."
I stiffened, Red following suit as she sniffed at he air. "Wait. Someone is coming."
Hook turned in the direction of the footsteps and drew his word, only to let out a received sigh. "Swan?"
"Hook." She shot back as she approached with a smile.
"What the hell are you doing?" Hook asked teasingly. "You're depriving me of a dashing rescue."
"Sorry. The only one who saves me is me." She snapped back flatly with a smile before she raised her finger. "Speaking of which," she slipped the ring off her finger. "I'm not gonna be around much longer unless we find where this belongs."
Charming reached forward. "I think that belongs to me."
Emma handed it off to him with little protest before looking around at us expectantly. "You guys have a way out of here?"
"Follow us." I spoke up as Red nodded in agreement.
"Snow told me where to meet her."
I blinked when a dark haired woman walked past Emma. "Thank you, Leia."
Emma nodded and I fell behind, Hook following suit, in order to snarl angrily at Emma.
"Swan, you didn't."
Emma bristled at his tone. "She was to be executed in the morning. I couldn't just leave her there to die."
"If she was supposed to die, then she has to die." I reminded her harshly before I picked up my stride to match it with Red's.
"I hate to break up a reunion but we have to keep moving." Charming piped up flatly. "We have to find Snow White."
We wandered to an upper level of the castle and I turned towards the wide window at the end of the hall, sensing movement behind it. I rushed towards it, coming to a dead stop when the courtyard became visible.
"What is it?" Emma asked, jogging to my side. "Did you find Snow?"
"I'm afraid so." I breathed out as Hook came to my side, horror washing over him at the sight of Snow being tied to a stake.
"We have to get down there!" Emma rushed out, palms flat against the window before she turned to Charming.
"I don't think we can." He whispered back as Regina raised her hand, a fireball forming in her palm.
"Lily-" Emma grabbed my arm, her nails digging into my skin as she shook it. "Do something, help her!"
Numbly, I watched as Regina flung the fireball at the wood, engulfing the pyre in flames as Hook tugged Emma away from me as she sobbed. Without a word, I waved my hand, engulfing all of us in purple smoke and took us to the surrounding woods.
Red rushed away, flinging her cloak off as she did so, and I watched as Hook forced a trembling, sobbing Emma to sit as he started a fire. I wandered away from them to the cart and pulled myself onto it as Charming stood near me, loading things onto it.
I turned back to Emma and Hook in time to see Hook prepare to hit something on Emma's arm, unprepared for Charming to suddenly sprint towards them.
"Wait! Don't harm that thing." He shouted as he reached their side. "When we were coming to rescue you, Snow told me what her dust would do to the Queen." He told Emma as Red rejoined me, tugging her cloak on before we walked to them. "She said it would turn her into a form that could easily be squashed." He gently picked the ladybug form Emma's shoulder. "A bug."
Emma eyed him doubtfully. "You think Snow turned herself into that?"
"Actually, if she timed it right, she could have escaped that fireball and faked her death and flown away." I said quietly, leaning forward to examine the bug as Charming did the same.
"Yeah, that's her." He said as he raise his finger to eye-level, eyeing the bug with a faint smile. "We just need to find a way to bring her back."
The ladybug buzzed loudly and Emma leaned closer, her brow creased. "She's saying something."
"Wonderful." Hook cheered dryly. "Anyone fluent in bug?
I whirled around when magic, very, very light magic, washed over me and wasn't surprised to see the Blue Fairy float out from the woods.
"She's calling for me." Blue offered lightly as she hovered before us, bathed in a blue glow.
"Blue." Emma breathed out, eyeing the woman like she'd grown a second head instead of wings.
Blue nodded. "That's right. And you are?"
"Leia."
"No, that's not it." Blue chuckled. "But your secrets can be yours. I sense it's better that way."
"Can you bring Snow back?" Red asked loudly.
Blue sighed. "Dark magic did this to her." She nodded once. "Light magic can undo it." She raised her wand and I watched as it transformed her back into a dazed looking Snow.
Charming laughed loudly while Emma lunged at Snow, hugging her tightly in relief.
"You're alive!" She cried out tearily while Snow flinched at the contact.
"Oh. It appears so." She responded flatly as Emma drew back awkwardly. "Thank you."
"Snow?" Red cried from my side and I quickly stepped out of the way when Snow rushed to hug her friend.
"Red. I'm so glad to see you."
I made my way to Emma's side as Hook wiped away her tears. We watched Red, Snow and Charming before Hook spoke softly.
"Looks like we're back on track, luv."
Emma sniffled before she nodded. "Yeah."
I opened my mouth, stiffening when the hair on the back of my neck bristled, making me turn to glare into the shadowed forest behind me.
"Lily?" Emma asked, looking away from her parents to gaze at me in concern. Hook joined her, making me inwardly sigh once again at the fact that people younger than I felt the need to watch out for me. "What is it?"
"I'll be back." I offered shortly before I turned and stepped towards the woods, dimly hearing Hook as he stopped Emma from following me. Ignoring their echoing voices as they became softer and softer, I continued to walk until the feeling of being watched made me want to scream. "Come out, Peter."
He obligingly stepped out from behind the nearest tree, now dressed in his usual attire instead of the suit he'd worn at the ball. He eyed me silently, confusion emanating off his body even as he stepped towards me carefully.
"I already told you I can't explain my presence here." I said softly, smirking inwardly when he bristled at the unspoken scolding he'd just received.
"Since when have I ever listened?" He asked sharply, suddenly standing right on front of me. I tilted my head up, keeping my face blank as he towered threateningly over me. "Now, why don't you tell me why you're here, when I know I left you sleeping back home?"
"I told you." I hissed back, ignoring the urge to stand on my toes to make up for the height difference. "I. Can't. Tell. You."
"You-"
"Lass!" Hook called and I turned my head at the sound of twigs snapping. "We have business to attend to, if you've forgotten."
Peter's entire body went stiff before he snarled out. "Hook. What does he have to do with-"
I raised my hands and quickly spread a cloaking spell over Peter, who watched me wide eyed. Turning to face Hook and Emma as they approached, I raised a brow at the sight of Emma's cellmate slung over Hook's shoulder.
"What is it?" I asked quietly, forcing myself not to react when Peter's hand landed gently on my shoulder.
"It's Snow-she's going to the Troll Bridge." Emma said quickly and, realizing what was wrong with this scenario, I pushed past them.
"We need to get to them, then." I shot over my shoulder, meeting Peter's eye before I turned around and began to sprint from him. I didn't react when his fingers suddenly brushed against my cheek, holding back tears as I raised my head to see him flying away.
We ran through the woods, Hook and Emma following me as I was the only one familiar with the area.
"Are we close?" Emma panted from behind me and I nodded, jumping over a log.
"It's just past this ridge!" I called back and, soon enough, we came upon the bridge where Snow and Charming were at, mercifully unharmed.
I smiled silently at the sight before me, having only heard about it and read it to Henry constantly. I turned at the sound of a sniffle and caught sight of the silent tears streaming down Emma's smiling face.
She caught my eye and smiled sheepishly before she turned her attention back to her parents.
"It's okay, Swan." Hook said quietly, his eyes soft as he gazed at her admiringly. "Not everyone gets the chance to watch their parents fall in love."
"Well, wherever you are going, be careful. If you need anything-" We heard Charming offer hesitantly, only for Snow to cut him off with a smirk.
"-You'll find me."
He nodded solemnly. "Always." Before he handed her the bundle she'd dropped.
Snow tilted her head, a soft smile forming on her features. "I almost believe that."
They began to walk away from the ridge, heading opposite directions and I felt Hook's panic rise at the sight.
"They're heading away from each other."
Emma rapidly shook her head. "No, it's okay."
"That's how it happened the first time." I added softly as they continued to walk from each other, looking back at the other when the other wasn't looking.
"It took my parents a while to accept their feelings." Emma admitted softly.
"Must run in the family." Hook's mutter practically dripped sarcasm, making me smirk while Emma ignored him and reached into his bag. She yanked out Henry's book and opened it while I looked at it over her shoulder.
I let out a breathless sigh of relief when, one by one, the writing and pictures began to appear on the previously white pages.
"Look." Emma breathed out with a growing smile. "We did it."
"We should get back to Rumple." I said, shattering the tender moment. Hook nodded and offered his hook to me, promoting Emma to place her hand on it before I put mine on top.
With little effort, I covered us in purple smoke, taking us away from the woods and placing us in Rumple's castle.
"We did it." Emma announced happily the moment the smoke cleared and I turned to see Rumple preparing a potion.
He didn't look up from the liquid. "You're parents are together?"
"They're right back on track." She nodded. "We're ready to go."
"I see." Rumple muttered, making me frown. He looked up, his amber eyes focusing on the woman slung over Hook's shoulder. "And you brought some luggage."
"Long story." Emma brushed it aside, stepping towards him as I made my way to his side, my eyes widening at the potion he was creating. "So, how's the portal coming? Can you open it?"
"I cannot."
"Then what are you working on?" She asked in surprise, focusing on the small vial in his hand.
"Oh, this is for me." He held it up, looking as if he just remembered it was there.
"A forgetting potion" I asked, staring at him hard. He shrugged lightly, smirking at me as his eyes danced.
"I know too much about my future. The only way to protect it, is to forget it."
Emma stepped towards the wand Rumple had perviously mention as I continued to eye my mentor suspiciously.
"Well, what about this wand? You said that could help us."
"Oh, that." He waved his hand dismissively. "Well, apparently, only those who used the portal can reopen it. So unless you can wield magic, I'm afraid, you're going nowhere." He threw the wand at Emma, who caught it. "Can you?" he challenged, a malicious smirk forming when Emma remained silent and stared at the wand. "Thought not."
"Rumple, I used the portal and I can use magic." I pointed out, only for him to shake his head.
"I'm not too sure someone of your...nature," he stressed the word, making me swallow at the reminder that I was still very partial to dark magic. "Could use it correctly, without, uh, backlash."
"So, you just expect us to stay here?" Hook asked incredulously. "What about protecting your precious future?"
Cold dread filled me when Rumple's eyes glinted dangerously. "That's exactly what I'm going to do."
I backed away from Rumple slowly, reaching Emma's side as Hook drew his saber warily.
"He means to kill us, Swan."
Rumple giggled madly, raising his hands and shaking his head. "No! I mean to put you someplace safe. Someplace even I dare not go. Where I store the magic that is too dark or unpredictable even for me."
"Rumple, don't-"
"Rumplestilts-"
Purple smoke cut Emma and I off, my mentor's smirking face the last thing I saw before my vision went black.
I watched as Emma walked around the room, clearly looking for a weakness that I knew she wouldn't find. Hook tugged Emma's cellmate from his shoulder, gently laying her on the nearest table.
"No." Emma whispered as she continued to pace around the Vault, making me roll my eyes at her almost obsessive behavior. There was no way out of here, I should know, as I'd gotten the lecture about it from Rumple the second day I'd been his student.
I glanced at Hook, only to roll my eyes at the sight of him preening in front of a mirror. "At least he did us one favor. I'm devilishly handsome again." Hook said, looking rather pleased at the sight of his true face. he then proceeded to open the cupboard next to him and pull out an urn stored in it.
"Hook!" My voice lashed through the air like a whip, making him startle and almost drop the urn. I took a threatening step forward, my eyes brow raising. "Rumple is afraid of half the stuff in here. No. Touching. Anything." I snapped out, relaxing marginally when he held up his hook before setting the urn on the table.
"I'm just trying to figure a way out." He defended, making me roll my eyes before I shook my head, leaning back against the cabinet behind me.
"There isn't one."
"And, what's the point?" Emma added desperately, looking rather crazed by this point. "You heard what he said."
"But you can." Hook stepped to stand in front of her. "All he said we need is magic. You're the savior, Swan. You can do it."
"Not anymore. I lost it." She snapped back, crossing her arm protectively.
I gazed at her contemplatively. "When Zelena died, all of her spells were undone." I said slowly. "Your powers should have been restored."
"Believe me, if I could make it work, I would." I watched silently as she rounded on me angrily and snarled at me. "You think, I'm faking it?"
I shared a look with Hook before speaking. "I know that you not having magic would make it a lot easier for you to take Henry and run back to New York." I snapped back, my eyes bleeding red when her anger increased.
Hook, thankfully, took that moment to step in between us and draw Emma's ire to him before I turned her into a newt. "But listen to me, Swan. You're not. It's time to stop running."
"You think, I don't know that?" She scoffed angrily. "Yes, I run away. That's how I always survived. But, believe me, I want this to work." She defended. "I wanna go back. I wanna stop running."
"What's changed your mind?" Hook asked in surprise.
"Watching my mother die." She exhaled shakily, crossing her arms around her chest protectively. "Thinking she was dead. You saw what happened. I was so relieved when she was okay. And I hugged her. And you know what I saw in her eyes?" She asked, her heartbreak plain for all to see. "Nothing. She didn't know who I was." her voice broke as tears altered in her eyes. "I had saved her and lost her, too. And that's what I've been doing to her since I met her. It's got to stop. When Henry brought me to Storybrooke he told me I was the savior. I didn't see what he was really doing: He wasn't bringing me back to break a curse. He was bringing me home. Neal was right."
"About what?" Hook took a step forward, his eyes soft at the sign of her distress. I remained where I was, still pissed at her for wanting to take Henry away in the first place. Still, I softened ever so slightly at the sight of her obvious pain.
"You don't have a home until you just miss it." She whispered softly. "Being with my parents the last few days, but not really being with them? I've never missed them more. Storybrooke. That's my home." I blinked at the soft, glowing light that began to emanate from the wand in her grasp. Hook noticed as well as he suddenly smile. "What?" She asked, catching sight of his odd smile.
"Look down." He nodded at the wand, making her follow his line of sight and gasp at the glimmering wand.
I pushed off the wall and placed a hand on her shoulder with a smile. "I'd say you've got your magic back." I pointed out archly, watching as she looked at me before looking back down at the wand in shock. "Now, shall we go?"
She nodded before darting another glance at me. "I...I could use a hand." She admitted softly, making me smile before I gripped her wrist.
"Concentrate on home."
She nodded, closing her eyes and raised the wand. Within moments, a swirling portal appeared and I sighed with relief. Hook picked up out 'captive' before he stepped towards the portal.
"Well done, Swan." He complimented before he stepped into it and disappeared. Emma and I moved to follow, only for Rumple to appear behind us
"You opened it." He noted gravely before he reached and grabbed Emma's hand "Wait."
Emma struggled against his grip, though I knew it was a losing battle. "Let me go." She demanded flatly.
"Rumple," I warned softly. "We have to leave."
"My son. What happens when I find him?" He asked, ignoring our words.
"I thought you wanted to forget."
"Before I do, I need to know. Does he forgive me?" He pressed, tightening his grip on Emma's hand.
I shared a brief look with her before I nodded, drawing his attention to me. "Yes."
His features softened with joy before his eyes sharpened again. "Yes, but what? What aren't you telling me? Tell me or you will never leave."
"He dies." Emma said quickly, pain filling her voice as Rumple went still in shock. "He forgives you. He loved you. He died to save all of us. Don't let it be in vain." She pleaded as Rumple began to shake his head rapidly.
"No. I can change what happened. I can save my boy."
"You think you can change the future, but you know you'll just make it worse, Rumple." I warned him, swallowing thickly when Emma added to my words.
"I loved him, too. I wanted to save him." She admitted softly and I watched as Rumple gazed at her with new eyes. "He died a hero. You can't take that away from him. You have to drink the potion. You have to forget everything I just told you."
Rumple raised the vial to his lips, allowing me to tug Emma free of his grip and pull her into the portal. I tightened my grip on her hand as darkness covered my vision, sending me into a black void.
"Peter..."
I winced when I landed on the floor of the barn and pushed myself onto my knees with a groan. I caught sight of Emma and Hook doing the same, Emma groaning when she caught sight of her cellmate.
"Oh, god." She turned to Hook. "Hey, do me a favor: Fill her in." She asked, more like demanded, of the bemused looking pirate. "Make sure she doesn't freak out."
"Where are you going?" Hook asked as Emma pulled herself to her feet.
"I have some people I need to see." She remarked simply before she nearly ran out of the building, leaving Hook and I standing in silence. I inhaled deeply, a smile breaking across my face before I turned to face Hook.
He sighed and waved his hook at me. "Don't let me stop you, lass."
I threw myself at him, hugging him quickly before I pulled away and turned on the spot. I landed next to the pond, my eyes focusing on the bridge and, more specifically, the person on the bridge. I stepped forward slowly, watching as his back stiffened before Peter turned from the edge of the pond and turned to face me.
His eyes widened before a smile spread across his face and he took a step towards me, quickly breaking out into a run when I sprinted towards him. We collided hard, not that I noticed, as Peter quickly picked me up by the waist and spun me around in laughing circles.
"Lily-" Was all he got out before I yanked his face to mine, kissing him desperately as his fingers tangled in my thick hair. All too soon, the need for oxygen forced me to pull my lisp from his and I panted softly against his face as I held him tight against me.
"I missed you." I breathed out softly, watching as a smirk spread across his face.
"I know." He shot back, his smirk fading to be replaced by a smile as he raised a hand to cup my face. "I love you."
I closed my eyes, leaning into his touch as a smile spread across my lips from his words. "I love you too." I whispered back before he tugged my face back to his, inahling deeply before he kissed me deeply.
Before I coudl react, his arms had slid down to my waist and he pciekd me up again, forcing me to wrap my arms around his shoulders. Laughing, I broke away from him as he continued to spin us around the bridge.
"Let's go home, love." He whispered softly, a small smile twisting up the corner of his mouth. "I believe we've got a coronation to attend."
I nodded and, with a smile, transported us to the outside of Granny's. Clutching hands, Peter and I walked into the diner in time for David's raised voice to greet us.
"Excuse me. If I could have everyone's attention just for a moment." The surrounding chatter stopped as all eyes turned to him. "This coronation ceremony is something we looked forward to for a very long time. The arrival of our new son has been a cause of great joy for our family." He smiled, looking down at his son lovingly as Mary did the same. "And we hope you can share in it as we name him for a hero. Someone who saved everyone of us. We loved him and he loved back."
"People of Storybrooke," Mary continued with a wide smile as tears gathered in her eyes. "It's our great joy to introduce you to our son, Prince Neal."
I let out a breathy gasp as tears filled my eyes, glancing up at Peter to see him smiling faintly at the royals before he looked down at me with a loving smile. I returned it, raising my head to brush my lips against his before Henry's cry of joy reached my ears. I turned to see him speeding towards us and opened my arms, letting out a grunt when he nearly jumped into them.
"Lily!" He cheered, grinning widely up at me. "We, Emma and I, we're staying!"
I hugged him tightly, looking over his shoulder to meet Emma's eye before I turned my attention back to the boy in my arms.
"I'm glad." I looked to the baby in Mary's arms and allowed the tears to finally fall from my eyes when I heard Emma's soft whisper.
"It's nice to meet you, Neal."
I watched, smiling widely, as Moe led a beaming Belle down the small alter in the woods. Peter raised my hand, pressing a kiss to my wrist as Archie began to speak.
"It is my great honor to officiate this most lovely reunion." he turned to Belle with wide smile. "If you'd like to begin your vows."
"Rumpelstiltskin, this thing we have, it's never been easy. I've - I've lost you so many times. I've lost you to darkness. To weakness and...And finally, to death. But now I realize - I realize that I have not spent my life losing you."
I swung around, mildly terrified, to see Peter's eyes glinting feverishly in the light of the portal. His lips twisted into a snarl and he bared his teeth as I was torn from him with a scream of shock.
"I've spent my life finding you." She continued softly and I turned my attention back to the ceremony in time to see Rumple speak.
"Belle, when we met I wasn't just unloved and unloving."
Peter brushed his fingers through my tangled hair, his eyes dancing as I batted his hands away. He gripped my hands and tugged me closer to him, kissing me deeply as I pressed my hand against his bare chest.
"I was an enemy of love. Love had only brought me pain. My walls were up. But you broke them down."
Peter reached out and gently brushed his fingers against my cheek, his eyes widening when I didn't flinch from his touch. I smirked at his confusion before I finally pulled away and started down the path, turning and gazing at him expectantly when he didn't move to follow.
"You brought me home." Rumple said softly, love pouring from every syllable. "You brought light into my life and chased away all the darkness. And I vow to you I will never forget the distance, who I was..." He took Belle's hand and slid the ring on her finger.
I spun around the fire with the lost boys, laughing when hands gripped my waist and spun me around to meet Peter's smirking face.
"...and what I am. I owe more to you than I can ever say. How you can see the man behind the monster, I will never know."
I stumbled from the tree, gazing at Peter in shock as the vision continued to flash through my head. I jerked away from his touch, glaring almost hatefully at his pleading expression before I left the clearing.
"But the monster is gone." Belle admonished softly, smiling at her soon-to-be husband as Peter's arm wrapped around my waist tightly. "And the man beneath him may be flawed, but we all are."
Peter gently ran hand up my spine as I pressed my head against his chest.
"Don't let me go."
"Never."
"And I love you for it. Sometimes the best book has the dustiest jacket. And sometimes the best tea cup is chipped." Belle finished, her eyes glazed over with tears as she and a similar looking Rumple kissed.
I slumped against Peter, smiling happily as my mentor and his new wife pulled away from each other with wide, watery smiles. Exhaling shakily, I waited until Rumple turned towards us before I pulled away from Peter and threw my arms around my mentor.
"Congratualtions, Rumple." I whispered as I pulled back, smiling softly when he pressed a kiss against my temple.
"I'm glad you agreed to come, Lillith." He said back as we both watched Peter and Belle hug before he kissed the radiant looking bride on the cheek. "Even if you brought him." Rumple mock sneered, earning a soft hit on the chest before I was yanked into Belle's embrace.
"Thank yo ufor coming, Lily." Belle pulled away, cupping my face and we turned to see Rumple and Peter staring at each other.
"Rumple." Peter nodded his head.
"Peter." Rumple smiled tightly, his eyes widening when Peter held out his hand.
"Congrats," a lazy smirk spread across Peter's lips. "Laddie."
I rolled my eyes at him before I stepped forward and yanked Peter away from a faintly smirking Rumple.
"Let's not have any massacres at this wedding, shall we?" I asked archly, earning a sheepish smile from Rumple before I turned back to Peter. "Now, let's go-" I stopped, my eyes going wide as the world around me began to blur and sway.
"Lily?" I heard Peter ask, his grip tightening as my knees buckled. I shook my head numbly, closing my eyes as the whirled began to spin rapidly around me. "Lillith!"
"Peter, what is it?"
"I don't know! She was fine and then-"
"Let me see her." Rumple's hand pressed against my forehead and I inhaled sharply when his healing magic ran through my body. My eyes opened as a choked gasp escaped my lips and I turned to see Rumple's worried gaze spearing mine. "Lillith, what is it?"
"I-I don't know." I gasped out as Peter gently pulled me to stand. "I just felt..."
"Well a-are you all right, now?" Belle asked, her eyes wide as I nodded.
"Yes." I nodded my head rapidly, watching as they continued to gaze at me in worry before I shook my head.
"Yeah!" I forced myself to stand on shaking legs and forced a smile. "We should get to the diner, Mary Margaret wanted to celebrate the wedding."
Eyeing me warily, Rumple nodded in agreement before we all started off toward the cars, Peter clutching at me tightly the entire time. I turned around, gazing off into the distance as I bristled uncomfortably inside.
It felt like...something was coming.
