Humming could be heard inside the cell that Akari was in, she twirled around on her toes and giggled.

"Oh, I haven't had this much fun in a century!" Her eyes were red.

"Please, get me out!"

Akari yelled as she was inside the darkness, Daphoene gave a giggle.

"Of course not, not while I have this body." She kept twirling around as she giggled.

The exorcists came to the metal door and stood in front of it, Arthur walked in front of it and gave a fake smile.

"Are you having fun there, demon?" She looked at him and gave a grin.

"Yes I am, but I am hungry. Can you give me some blood? I am dying of thirst." She walked to the door and reached out to Arthur but he took a step back.

"You're trying to regain your powers?" She gave a grin.

"You bet your ass I am, I need those powers or I'm just a useless demon that has no purpose in life." He gave a grin at her.

"Well, you're just a demon that needs to be exorcist. The trial is beginning." She gave a grin.

"Really? And on this night? Oh how fun."

Rin stood outside, he looked up at the afternoon sky and thought.

"Akari doesn't remember you being a half-demon cause she's under a spell and it's preventing her to know, but you can't remember cause someone doesn't want you to. You need those memories back so I can know how to get Akari's memories back, there will be a way to get her memories back and yours."

He put his hands on his face and groaned.

I don't know what to do, should I believe that Akari didn't do it or that she did? Daphoene could have killed her mother but it would blamed her as the murderer.

"I just don't know what to do anymore."

"You should just go with what your heart tells you." A girl told him, he looked at her.

She had long brown hair with blue eyes, she had a high low gray dress with a black leather jacket and ankle boots.

"And how would you know?" She gave a grin, she looked up at the sky.

"I had to choose between a belief and a rumor, it almost made me go crazy and I thought I would lose myself."

"Which one did you choose?" She looked at him and gave a smile.

"I choosed the one that I knew what was right, I believed my best friend wasn't a murderer and that she didn't choose that life. That's how it is with you isn't it?" He looked down and gave a chuckle.

"You have no idea."

"Then why? Why do you choose between two things that you knew that one of them is the right one?" He gave a sigh.

"I-I don't know, I have always believed that she was always that shy, cute girl that had that strong side but when she had that awful past...it made me think more than I need to, I don't know if she did do it or didn't."

"But you knew she was always that kind of girl, you know that she wouldn't do that but you know her past and think that she did do it?"

"No! She couldn't! She was just a little girl, how could she kill her own mother if she loved her more than anything?" He stared at the girl, she gave a small nod.

"That's just like my problem, when you first meet her. She's kind and sweet and when you know her past, you think of her in another way. You start thinking that it's your fault and that you can't do anything, but you can. You can help her go through that awful pain that she's going through, give her love and tell her that she's everything to you." She gave a smile at him, he didn't say anything but he gave a nod.

"You're right, you're right. I should give her the love that I have for her and tell her that she's the thing that's always on my mind." He walked to her and took her hand into his. "Thanks."

"No problem." He gave a smile and walked away.

"Oh, I didn't ask your name." He turned around to her, she looked at him and gave a smile.

"It's Leigh."

"I'm Rin, it's nice to meet you and thanks for the advice!" He turned around and ran away, she disappered as he ran.

Rin walked into the room where it was outside of the Courtroom, he saw his friends standing around.

"Guys, what are you-"

"We came to see Akari's trial." Bon told him, he looked at him.

"Why?"

"Why? Because, even through what we saw yesterday...We know that Akari didn't kill anyone."

"She's the most kindest, sweetest person that I ever met. She would never kill her own mother." Shiemi told him.

"Shiemi...Thanks guys." They all gave a small smile or a grin.

"Well I only came to help Shiemi get here, I'm leaving as soon as she leaves." Izumo said to them, Rin walked to her and put his hand on her shoulder.

"Are you okay, with what happened yesterday?"

"Yeah, I am. I just didn't know that the demon inside of her were saying those words, I thought it was Akari the whole time. But I didn't look at her eyes." She looked away.

"You couldn't know, it was Daphoene possossing her."

"That's the demon's name? It sounds weird like Mephisto's." Bon told him.

"My name is not weird." Mephisto stood behind him, he jumped and everyone looked at him.

Luka walked in front of Mephisto.

"Rin, you can have only a few minutes with Akari before the trial starts." Rin nodded at her, he looked at his friends and gave a smile.

Down in the dungeon

Rin walked down the halls and looked around.

Been almost a year since I last was here.

He saw white hair in a cell and walked in front of it, Akari was breathing slow and her hair was a mess.

"Akari?" She looked up at him, he bend down to her and reached out to her between the bars.

He brushed her hair out of her face, she crawled to him and held his hand.

"Thank god you're okay, but you look like a mess." She chuckled at him, she stared at him.

"I didn't do it, I didn't kill her."

"I know you didn't, but did Daphoene do it?" Akari's eyes went wide and lowered down.

"So you know about her, you know what she can do."

"Dani told me, well Lilith told me." She looked at him.

"You saw her true form? You know she's a Demon Queen?"

"Yeah, after you tried to bite me when you were asleep." She covered her mouth with her hand and lowered her head.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I-I couldn't hold her back, I was just so tired." He put his hand on her head.

"It's okay, I'm here now." Tears fell down her eyes.

"Why? Why am I in here when she's supposed to be here? She's the one that wants to kill everyone, not me!" She yelled outloud. "Why did she choose me? Why? I was already in enough pain of being a half demon, why did she had to possossed me?"

Rin heard footsteps and two exorcist walked to them, one of them unlocked the door with his key.

They opened the door and Akari jumped into Rin's arms, she had her arms around his neck.

"I don't want to die." He put his hand on the back of her head and his arm around her waist.

"I won't let them, you won't die on my watch." She gave a smile with tears coming down her eyes.

"Remember Akari, when you are in a trouble. Never show tears, show your toughness. Not your tears."

Akari shooked her head and pulled away from him.

"No, I shouldn't cry now. I should be brave like what she says, I need to be tough." She wiped her tears and looked at him with a small smile.

He looked at her and gave a chuckle, the exorcists pulled her up on her feet and put handcuffs around her wrists.

"Time is up, time to go." Rin stood up and grabbed the exorcist's jacket.

"Please, let me have one more minute with her." He asked him, he gave a scowl.

"No way in-"

"Let him." They turned to see Mother Mary standing before them, she had a long purple dress that had a gold rosary on her white button shirt that was under her dress, her gray hair was in a bun and she wore a monocle on her right eye.

"Mother Mary?"

"Arc Knight Marianna, we are sorry. We didn't know you were there." The exorcists took a bow to her. Mother Mary gave a small smile.

"Can you both leave so this young man can talk with the prisoner?" The exorcist looked up at her.

"But she's-"

"Leave now or I will discharge you and cut off your hands." The exorcists gluped and nodded at her.

"Yes ma'am." They both left the dungeon and Mother Mary looked at Rin and Akari, Rin's eyes were wide with surpise.

"You are scary." She gave smile.

"Thank you. You have only a minute to talk to her, and you have to do it quick before anyone sees me."

"Are you hiding from the exorcists?" She walked to the door.

"More like everyone even the press outside, they've been waiting for my arrival." She left, leaving Rin and Akari alone again.

She turned around to him and looked at him, he put his hand in his pocket and took out a small bag.

"What's that?" He untied the bag and took out a amethyst earring.

"It's the earring that I found in your mom's box, I thought it would help you since I heard they can encourage calmness and cure troubles and give you sincerity." He put it in her hand, she looked down at the earring and smiled.

"You know, it's kinda sweet that you're giving me my earring back to me on the day before my birthday."

"Wait, it's your earring? And it's almost your birthday?" She looked at him and hit him softly on the head.

"Of course it is, it's almost the last day of February. That means I'm going to be 17 when the sun comes up." He smiled at her. "It's been so long since I last seen this earring, it's been almost 10 years since I lost it."

"You got it back now, when you get out. You'll have a cake waiting for you at home." She smiled, she looked up at him and kissed him.

He looked at her as she pulled away, she put the earring on and put her hand on his cheek.

"I love you." He smiled down at her, he kissed her head.

"I-" The door opened and the exorcist walked down the stairs and grabbed her arms and took her away.

"Akari!" He ran after them out the door but they took a turn and disappered.

Rin sat on the floor, he stared up at the ceiling.

Everyone looked at him and looked away.

"What do we do? He's depressed again, I'm not pulling him out of that again." Luka asked Yukio, Marie and Shura.

"We need Mother Mary."

"Where is that old lady, She's taking so long." Bon said as he sighed.

"Oh, so I'm a old lady now?" Mother Mary said as she stood behind him, he jumped and fell to the floor.

"I'm sorry, forgive me and don't kill me!" He bowed to her, she gave a small smile.

"You are sure scary."

"Why thank you." She gave a small giggle.

"How's Akari?" Yukio asked her.

"She's already frozen, she's being taken to the Council right now as we speak." Rin remembered his trial.

"Frozen? Like what happened to me?"

"Yes, they make sure you won't use your powers during your judgement and won't say anything to them."

"Do they do that for all trials?"

"Only with demons, they don't want the same thing happened last time." Mother Mary gave a look at Rin.

A hammer banged on a desk, it echoed throughout the whole building.

"It's starting."

In the Courtroom

"We start the trial of Akari Emiko Sasaki, the daughter of Akemi Rena Sasaki. Let's begin." The hammer banged again.

"Akari Emiko Sasaki is charged with 1st degree attempted murder of 4 billion humans and the 2nd degree murder of Akemi Rena Sasaki, how do you pled?"

"Guilty." All of the exorcists said at once.

"Anyone would like to argue against this pled?" There was silence in the room for a few seconds.

"I would like to argue." Mephisto walked in front of them and stood.

"Mephisto Pheles, why do you argue against this pled?"

"Because, it's my godaughter you are trialing. She wouldn't kill her mother on her own purpose or try to kill 4 billion humans, not even one. I have raised her since she was 6 and I have watched over her all those years, I made sure she knew how to kill but only demons not humans."

"Why should we believe a word you say?" Arthur asked him.

"Because, I have let you let Rin Okumura live from the last trial and he didn't kill any humans."

"But this is a Demon Queen we are talking about, not one of the Demon Princes."

"She's also a Demon Princess, she wouldn't know a reason why to kill a human. She's controlled by a Demon Queen, one of my insufferable sisters. She's the one that killed those girls during the late 1590's and early 1600's, she possossed Elizabeth Bathory and made her kill those innocent young girls and was known as the Blood Countess.

"You have to know that it's Daphoene's power that's trying to kill everyone and how do you know it was Akari that killed her mother? Do you have proof?"

"We do actually." Arthur held a bag in his hand, a bag that had bloody clothes inside of it. Mephisto gave a scowl.

"Where did you get that?"

"The undertakers that had to deal with the body of Akemi Rena Sasaki, the clothes that she wore as she died." He opened the bag and took out a purple nightgown and held it up.

Mephisto's hand turned into a fist, Marie looked at him and looked at Arthur.

"This was her nightgown that she wore, the dress as you can see. It has cuts all over the body where her torso, chest, legs were. So these cuts were cause by sharp claws." He put the dress back into the bag and took out a pair of underwear.

Mephisto had his head lowered and his hands were fists, his fingernails dugged deep into his flesh. Blood came out and dripped to the floor.

"These were the underwear that Akemi wore when she died, as the cuts on the cloth and the rips-"

"What does this prove? The clothes she wore on the night she died? The cuts were cause by a animal or a higher demon than Daphoene."

"Then what are you saying? Satan came in the middle of the night and killed her? Maybe one of her brothers, the Demon Kings or a Demon Queen?"

"I'm not saying that, I'm saying-"

"Have you done the autopsy yourself? Have you seen the body of hers?"

"I have read the papers and looked it over, she wasn't just cut up and killed! She was-"

"She was raped by a male demon." Mephisto said outloud, everyone looked at him.

"What did you say?"

"Akemi Rena Sasaki was raped by a male demon, there was swelling, bruising and cuts down between her legs." His head was still lowered, his hands were bleeding.

"How do you know this?" The Council asked him, he didn't say anything for a few seconds.

"Because, I was the one that did the autopsy and the first one to check the body besides Shiro Fujimoto, the past Paladin." No one said anything, Arthur's eyes were wide.

It's been 11 years since he last said her full name and he's trying so hard not to cry.

"I have heard enough for my stomach not to throw up, let the demon awake." The hammer banged, Mother Mary walked beside the ice.

She raised her hand up and closed her eyes, fire came out of her hand and flew to the ice. It started to melt through until it took it only a few minutes for it to complete dissolve.

Akari's limpless body fell to the floor, Yukio and Marie helped her sit up.

"W-What? Am I awake?" Akari said in a low voice, her eyes were heavy but they looked up at the Council.

"Akari Emiko Sasaki, you're judgement is finale." One of the Council men said to her.

"You are hereby sentence for all of your demonic powers to be exorcist and to burn on the cross for murder of Paladin Akemi Sasaki." Yukio's, Marie's, Shura's, Mephisto's and Akari's eyes were wide with shock.

"What?"

"You're sentenced to death!" The hammer banged on the desk, Akari covered her mouth and had tears falling down her eyes.

"No, please...I don't want to die now. Not now." Mephisto bit his lip, causing it to bleed.

I'm sorry Akemi, I didn't mean for this to happen. I...I...I couldn't protect her, not to this point.

Yukio, Shura and Marie walked out of the room with their heads lowered, everyone looked at them.

"Well? What's the verdict? Will Akari be okay?" Rin stood in front of Yukio, he put his hand on his shoulder.

"Rin...I'm sorry but...Akari is setenced to have her powers exorcist and..." Marie fell to the floor, she sat against the wall and cried.

"What, what is it?" He put his hands on his collar. "What the hell is it?!"

Rin's eyes were shocked as he saw Yukio's head lift up, his eyes were filled with tears.

"I'm sorry, Akari is sentenced to death on the cross. I'm so sorry, we tried everything." Rin lowered his head and punched the wall beside him.

"No...no! This isn't supposed to happen!" Everyone was shocked to hear.

On top of roof

"So, I guess our little sister is setenced to death isn't she?" Melusine stood beside Mephisto with her umbrella up.

"Yes." Melusine sighed.

"And at a such young age, I never thought I would lost a little sister like Akari. She was always kind and she was my daughter's first friend." She looked at Mephisto, he had his head lowered. "Are you thinking of dying?"

"No."

"Good, if you died. I would die too, you're the only brother I like that isn't all about 'destroying the world' or 'controlling'." He didn't say anything to her.

"I promised her that I would protect Akari and I want to keep it but...I-I can't see her future so I don't know if she'll live or die."

"That's the same thing with Akemi, you never knew her future and when she died. It came as a shock to you, you have to know if she's gonna live throughout her half immortal life or die as the age she is now." His nails clawed the edge of the roof.

She looked at him and gave a grin.

"Mother doesn't want you to be in this kind of mood-"

"What does Mother know? She left us when we were young!"

"She left cause she didn't want to be imprisoned like us, she wanted us to have a chance to be free from Father. I know how much you loved her, and when you left. You found True Cross and met Akemi, she was the thing that filled that hole in your heart but now that hole is filled by Akari."

Mephisto looked at her in the corner of his eye.

"You have to do something, don't let Akari die. She's the Key to the Gate, without her. We won't be able to Hack the Gate like Mother wanted." Mephisto gave a sigh and looked up into the sky.

"It's going to be a full moon, the time is almost coming."
